Great undershirt. Holds heat in and wind out. Bought this for someone who is small statured and normally wears a small/medium and this shirt was TIGHT.

solid base layer for cold
Good quality. You should expect the compression shirts to fit tighter than non-compression.

Did it’s job but doesn’t whisk away sweat
This is a great compression shirt and is very high quality. I live in Seattle and play rugby, so I bought 3 of these to make playing in the cold wind and rain easier. It did. It kept me warm. The issue was when I stopped moving. I still sweat like a pig in 40 degree wind and rain, so the shirt was soaking wet and it made the cold worse.

These things work
I wear these under another long sleeve layer, e.g. a shirt or sweater. They work much better than you might think a thin stretchy garment would. I prefer them to SmartWool t-shirts, and own 4 of them so I can wear them daily.

Waaaay too tight.
Waaaay too small. I’m a true xl and this made me feel like a roast wrapped in butcher twine, ready for the oven! My wife, whom is a woman’s medium had a hard time getting the shirt on as well.Make sure to order AT LEAST one size up, if not two sizes.

DICKS QUALITY (Okay) VS. AMAZON (Poor)
I have 2 of these from Dicks (purchased 2020) and 2 of these from Amazon (purchased 2021). I have been using these compression turtle neck Coldgears for 8 years now. It seems like every year Under Armour changes the designs and either quality gets cheaper or designs get worse. I got these on sale during the 2021 holidays on Amazon and purchased 2 at around $35 each to upgrade my previous versions. I figured for the savings from original price of $50 to $35 it was a good purchase. However, #1 I believe these are slightly less comfortable, #2 not as good of quality than the ones at Dick’s during 2020, #3 $35 should be the ORIGINAL FULL PRICE, NOT $50.Cons Cons Cons:1. Picture I took show the stitching in the back runs right across the middle and it is so uncomfortable and awkward everytime you sit or bend you feel it even with another under shirt or without. The 2020 version from Dicks has it running at the top around your back shoulder and you barely feel the stitching.2. They both say Made in El Salvador. That hasn’t changed.3. The fabric and insulation is comparable however I put both of these up to the light and the one from Amazon seemed to be thinner with more light going thru it. I also felt as if the older 2020 version has more “fluff” to the fabric. This will mean the new one has less fabric and cold can go thru easier so not exactly as “Coldgear” as the older ones.4. The sizes run exactly the same both from Dicks and Amazon. That hasn’t changed. I personally order them a size bigger for a slightly looser fit. So if I wear Large long sleeve shirts, I have these in XL. Fit compressed but not too compressed.5. The Dick’s one has a different under armour logo in the back neck area and turtle neck has “Armour” written out. Amazon version has just a white sticker logo on back neck area and nothing else. If they used less work in design and less materials making it then under armour is cutting corners and doing less and less and less each year in every aspect both design and material yet these on Amazon and in Dicks are all still $50. Same price in both places. Why? Where are the savings for the customer? We are getting less fabric, poor stitching, less work put into the coldgear design, and less of almost everything yet the prices are still $50 bucks for these coldgear tops…seems like for everything we keep getting each year we are paying the same prices or more for less and less quality.Don’t forget why we all keep getting cheaper clothing it’s because cheap labor in other countries and Americans vote for policies that allow for this crap to be imported. UA can do better than charge $50 for a top piece and have it made in El Salvador. At least charge $60 and have it Made in America, if not charge $5 and have it Made in China.

Way too delicate!
I use a lot of Under armour stuff because I always thought they had good quality, but I was really disappointed with the durability of this one, It looks great but I used it once and already has a very visible mark from the seat belt of my car, a lot of the fibers from the shirt are now sticking out, it is very visible under the light. I dont Know if I was unlucky with this one but I have 5 more compression shirts from Under Armour and never happened something like that before. Very disappointed

Great for wearing on colder runs
I love this shirt, but I didn’t find that warm. It’s a good replacement for a sweatshirt for 35°F-50°F runs but you may need another layer if colder than that. Fortunately it’s easier to layer on a compression fit shirt so this is perfect for my needs. I wear Large UA compression shorts but XL was a good size for me, I’m on overweight side of normal. It’s a great length in arms and torso so it doesn’t ride up and fits down to gloves if you’re wearing them. Definitely the best feeling top of any kind of long underwear garments I own. Recommended!

What is compression clothing?
People that have complained about a tight fit are not familiar with compression clothing technology. Webster’s defines compression as “a pressing into a small compass and definite shape usually against resistance.” Compression clothing is by its very nature tight fitting BY DESIGN used to support the muscles. If you want a looser fit, order a size up. For T-Shirt looseness perhaps 2 sizes above what you normally wear. I am 6’3″ at 180lb and the XL fits perfectly. It fits me to a “t”, no pun intended.

True to size
I purchased an extra large if you’re looking for something tighter, go a size down, but other than that under armor is great

Too slim fitting
My boyfriend is a size large men’s, no gut but not abs-guy either, still it was too tight. I’m a Women’s small in Carhartt brand and this fit me nicely. Its warm, and quality materials and workmanship. So, while this wasn’t a return, it doesn’t seem sized for a man.

Good layer for cool weather
I use this as a single layer for cool weather (down to about 45F) cycling. It has been a good layer so far; retains warmth, wicks moisture, cuts (but does not block) wind. I got the Large as that is what I wear in UA’s Heat Gear short sleeves but it is a bit long in the arm for me. The arm length has not been an issue even when I have the sleeve bunched up against my fitness watch. This is a compression fit garment.

5 star product but manufacture year makes a difference.
I love these for winter (I also use the heat gear daily in warmer months) and use them daily to help keep warm (without the bulk of a jacket) because I work outside for most of the day. I bought some of these from a golf store first and they were manufactured in 2022 (the inside tag will have this information) and they are noticeably heavier than the ones I purchased from Amazon that had a 2023 manufacturing date. The ones from 2022 feel a bit thicker all over, while the ones from 2023 are the same in the arms but thinner in the rest of the shirt. The ones from 2023 also seem a bit smaller by a smidgen (could be due to the thinner body material). I decided to order more from the golf store and return the ones from Amazon. That said, I would absolutely order these from Amazon again if I didn’t have the option of buying more of the older stock but since I do I have exercised that option. In the future when I need more or a different color, I wouldn’t think twice about getting the newer manufactured ones. If I didn’t have the old ones to compare it to, I would have perfectly happy with these new units and they are still great compression shirts for cold weather.I also noticed a lot of folks mentioned that they ran super small but that’s not the case IMO, these fit the same as the heat gear compression shirts and I wear those for most of the year every single day. Compression gear is supposed to be tight and second skin like, plus they tend to stretch a bit after extensive use. In fact, my heat gear shirts don’t fit nearly as tight after six months of use and I expect the same from the cold gear ones but at a slightly longer interval as the material is thicker. I’m Not sure why anyone would want lose compression gear, but if so, order two/three sizes above what you normally would or better yet, don’t order compression gear. They also make a fitted version in the cold gear and that may be a better choice for some. Compression = tight and it fits right.

Heavy base layer fits tight. Thick material and holds in heat well for being outside all day. Sleeves on mine are a little long.

VERY warm layer for VERY cold conditions!
This is the best base layer I have ever warn, extremely comfortable! If you are a heavy guy like me with a gut you will be glad to know there is plenty of room to tuck your shirt in without it popping out while walking/biking with the 3xl i prolly should have got the 2xl but it will still get the job done, seems like the 2xl would have been fine. The material is very very soft and I can tell this will last years!

Fit as expected for winter compression clothing. Good Quality!
I just wanted to write a review to note that this is an accurate fit. It is a winter compression shirt. So it is thicker than normal under armour, less flexible. They fit as expected from the product, tight/super snug. As tall, thick, woman they fit me with no issues. Really shouldn’t be too tight on a male body even if you have a bit of a pot belly, it will be tight, but that’s the intent.

Compression shirts run snug.
I love these shirts. A great base layer for winter and the fit is as expected from experience. I am 6′ 5″ 210 lbs and normally wear a Large (if a fitted shirt). I have used UA compression mock shirts since 2010 and learned early on to go with an XL due to the compression.

I see a lot of complaints about sizes being too small but seems usual to me. Wondering if people don’t get what compression means…. Great product, warm and comfortable.

Long Term Buyer Approved
I’ve been using Under Armour Cold Gear as a base layer for my security uniforms since I began my career back in 2013. When I order these undershirt I had no doubt that they would live up to my expectations of the brand. The fit and finish is perfect. No loose threads or bad stitching to be found. I have already purchased two of these this year and plan to buy another. Definitely recommend.

Really comfortable!
Very impressed with this shirt! Fabric is very stretchy, all seams flat stitched. The arms are long enough to cover my wrists all the way to my hands. Which is welcome as I’m tall. It’s warm too! Not oppressively but comfortably. Perfect for my morning yoga class before the studio completely warms up, which is appreciated in New England.

Yes it’s compression gear but you still expect the size to fit a very trim body for the correct size.I read other reviews that said it was small and figured their kids were just fluffy, my kid has no fluff and it’s still too small

Sizes run snug
As a 6 ft and 130 lb male, I have a small frame and thought that a medium size would fit perfect as it typically does. I definitely still should have gotten a large. These are snug and the medium is even hard to get over my head. Still using as the material keeps me warm, just buy a size larger than your used to

Wonderfully insulating; compression small fits as expected!
Unobtrusive, warm base layer I’ve worn down to just below freezing temperatures while jogging (essentially by itself, with a t-shirt over it); even with a ~10mph wind and sleet! The fit is as expected; at 5’8” short with a 34” chest and 28” waist, I got a small and — given it’s compression — there’s a bit of room in the waist but not much. I think UA offers other, non-compression (“fitted”) base layers, though!
