Perfect Watch for a Young Girl
Our 6-year old granddaughter unfortunately lost her previous kiddie smartwatch and was heartbroken. Luckily, we found this one and was able to replace her previous watch for her birthday before too much trauma ensued. She loves all the features. It even tells time! 🙂 Not sure how durable it be in the long run but seems to be constructed pretty well. But she loves it so that’s all that counts for now.

If you’re looking for a fantastic gift for a kid who doesn’t really play with toys, look no further! I purchased this for my 8yr old grandson. I was in a bind trying to find a great Xmas present for this boy of mine. I did lots of online research and watched tons of reviews for this watch and decided to give it a shot. My grandson LOVES it! He has his choice of gaming, photography, sound effects, voice changer and MORE! This is great, and although it doesnt have access to the Internet directly, a quick plug in to a tablet or desk/laptop and you can download more games…and transfer your pics and vids to that device, as needed. This also helps kids learn how to tell time and use the calculator app to improve math skills. Buy this and you AND your child will be so happy!

Overall Great “smart” watch for toddlers and kids!
At first my 3 almost 4yo wasn’t very interested in it, but once I showed him all it does he took right to it. It is age appropriate because it was easy for him to learn to use! We love it!

Very Fun But Absolutely DO NOT GET IT WET
This was a very cool little smart watch I got for my five year old. She was able to learn to tell time on the digital faces, loved changing her faces each day and was able to navigate to and play a number of the games without my assistance. Unfortunately, despite the watch being all kinds of fun, I’m knocking stars off because even incidental splashing with water while washing her hands has ruined the device after less than a week with it.The instructions do warn you not to submerge or put under running water, but that’s no what happened here. It got splashed a bit while she was washing her hands and now there is visible water that has managed to collect under the screen and the device won’t turn on any more. It’s a device made for kids – I think it needs to be sealed a little bit better than it is because it’s a real shame that something otherwise very enjoyable and meant for kids is rendered useless from a tiny bit of water. If you’re going to buy this, make sure you have your child remove it every time they go near water no matter how brief that may be. Otherwise, this is a really great product.

Perfect smart watch for kids!
I got this as a gift for my 8 year old niece. It was better than I thought it would be! It truly mimics my apple watch in an age appropriate way! My niece loves the customizable watch faces and the exercise tracking functions. It’s one of the few gifts I’ve gotten her that she uses daily. She loves knowing what time it is and using the timer function. The picture and video functions are fun for her to use as well. She’s had it for a few months now and it utilizes it daily (especially the exercise tracker!) The look and fit of the watch is perfect for her; she can wear it all day without discomfort. The purple color is beautiful!

Nice watch with fun apps and easy to use for kids!
My 9 year old daughter loves this watch. It is full of features, fun games and apps with a store full of lots more to download online using the VTech app, step counter, alarm, and the forward-facing and selfie-facing cameras are a lot of fun to play with. Make sure to check out the reviews online on this so you can see how it looks and interacts. So far we have only have a few downsides to this device – but aren’t deal-breakers:1) There is no support for messaging or Bluetooth connection of any kind.2) There is a rubber filler that you have to pop out to get to the microUSB/charger port. This rubber insert is held in place with a very tiny/thin sliver of rubber to keep it from getting lost. That little piece of rubber broke very easily/quickly in the first 2 weeks of having the watch. So BE CAREFUL when you remove it to charge! It would be nice if they could improve on this design a bit more.3) Not water-proof. It is splash-resistant, but I don’t really trust that.

VTech DX2 Childrens Smartwatch
My regular smart watch “died”, waiting for an app to be upgraded. Decided to purchase this children’s watch to test it as a gift for friends’s kids. Doesn’t disappoint! There are games, recording memo, colorful time frames, neither that I use. There’s a nifty pedometer, a 0.3Mb (VGA) Camera: both a selfie & a sideways mounted camera (see photos). The camera holds up to 100 somewhat grainy photos. However, on the right side is both the camera exposure button & charging port. Connect to your computer, & the images are less grainy than on the watch. There’s no Bluetooth or WiFi, this is an independent watch & no phone calls either. As a toy it’s great, I’ve had it for five days & charged it once. No six days with constant photo & videoing (also grainy). Alarm is loud & there’s a variable sound level for all functions. Four stars because the watchband made my skin itch. I coated it in a plastic coat, so no more itching. RECOMMEND: Buy as a child’s first smart watch, age 4+ or a gadget person.UPDATE 9/24/2020 I’m still wearing the watch as a backup to my regular smartwatch. It needs only a single charge nearly every four weeks. I use the time keeping function, camera/camcorder, voice memos, & some related items. Definitely a buy!

A bit pricey and kind of a novelty, but my 6 year old likes it and that’s what matters.
Bought this for my 6 year old for Xmas. She was ecstatic and wore it every waking minute for the next week. Now, a month later, the novelty has worn off a bit and it spends more time on the charger than on her wrist (not because the battery doesn’t last). My daughter likes that she can change the face so there is some benefit there, but I don’t think she’ll get a ton of use out of the games/apps. The built in games are a bit simple and, quite honestly, the best use of this watch is simply to tell the time. For a 6 year old, the watch itself is a bit bulky but that doesn’t seem to bother her. About 3 days after she got it, I noticed that it had decent scratches on the face. Looks like she took it off and laid it on the driveway while playing with sidewalk chalk. One quick slide across the cement and it looks 10 years old. So…..maybe it could use some Gorilla Glass but, overall, I’m pretty happy with the purchase. I don’t know that I would necessarily buy it again without some heavy research on other options, but it’s not a bad option overall.

Great kid smart watch
My 7 year old absolutely loves this. She loves being able to take pictures and videos and loves the slideshow option. She likes that it’s pink and we “match” when I wear my apple watch.I was concerned based on previous reviews in terms of durability, but we’ve had it for over two months and it’s completely fine.I also got one for my 9 year old, but he said the games were too baby for him.I wish there was a way for them to use the pedometer throughout the day without having the app open, but it’s a great toy for them to learn to take care of.

Just what she wanted
Got this as a gift for my 7 year old who insisted she wanted a ‘smart’ watch. This one satisfied her and didn’t break the bank. It has fun little games on it, some of which get her moving around which is a bonus. There are more games you can download for free (though the process is kind of a pain) which is nice so it won’t get old so fast. It’s still working after 5 months, so far so good.

Lots of fun for kids
At first look, we thought this watch would be too big for our first grader. But once out, its incalculable amount of fun. She took a rainbow picture of me. She asked me to sing. We made a Sally walker recording. She is giggling a lot in relation to spending too much time with this watch. Most of the time she is asking for my phone or ipad for making videos. If you relent then you know they go into YTlandia. This should quite her for a while, till the interest wears off.Theres games and a small person figure asking the kid to move for counting steps. Sometimes the voice recording happens in a funny voice. More huddled laughs.Even this morning, the kids put a einstein hair and glasses onto their picture. Some silly face of my earlier picture. This makes for a great gift too.

Son was happy.
First of all, my son absolutely loves it. The only reason I put 4 stars is because the volume on some of the apps doesn’t silence even when the settings are set on silence. Especially the camera part. My son wore it to church and a family friend bent over and asked him what time it was and he accidentally pressed the camera button and the shutter sound went off. It was funny and it really wasn’t a big deal, he had just gotten it for his birthday earlier that day so I wasn’t upset. But that would be something to think about if taking it places where there needs to be quiet. Other than that it works great and he loves it. We (parents not him) are still learning how it works to see about parental controls and timers and such I’d like to put on for him. But he’s been wanting an Apple Watch (he just turned 8) since I got mine and so we told him if he can take care of this for a couple of years maybe he can get a watch that makes calls (reason he wants it is to call my mom and text her and his aunts and older cousins). But this is great. If it wasn’t for the simple loud shutter sound when on silent this would be golden. I doubt we will have more issues now that’s he has it down. If I figure out how to silence that I’ll come back and update to 5 stars. I just need all apps and the camera to be silenced if he wears it to appointments or church. Also wished it had a GPS but it states it doesn’t so that’s something we knew before purchasing. But that would be great especially if he’s with friends or family so we can keep an eye on his ware abouts just in case. I’ll be looking for one with GPS for his next one but until then this will work.

Great gift for my daughter
We gave this watch to our daughter for her 7th birthday. Age appropriate and easy to use. No wifi which was a must for us. I was a little hesitant getting this not wanting something my daughter would be glued to playing all the time, but the features are just entertaining enough to be fun and not addicting. She uses it for a bit, then moves on to other things instead of hours at a time, if that makes sense. She loves to use it as a regular watch for time, but also really loves to take pictures and videos with it. It must have a lot of storage, because we have yet to download to our computer. She loves to play the “monster” game where she walks around catching monsters. Wonderful for getting her up and moving in a fun way! It looks nice and is easy for her to put on and take off. Charge runs out in a normal amount of time when using it a lot, but charges back up quickly. It came with a charging cord (mini USB) but no charging dock. It works just fine with others we already had though. We are very happy with this watch!

It’s okY for what it is
Physically it was fine. It was more clunky than I had hoped a d of my kid only wore it like 3 minutes. There is a limited number of features you can block. I was hoping to strum line it to a analog clock and the camara features. In reality you can only block a few games. It was just way to much junky features and it confused my kid-she had a hard time getting to the camara. We were basically looking for a kids (disconnected) version of a smart watch and this really fell short.

Bought this as a gift to my little cousin and he absolutely adores it, I love that it has a little camera on and is super easy for him to use and get used to. Love the extra features on it like the little fitness tracker and the little games that is has, and more importantly I like that it has the analog feature for the time to teach him how to read time that way (you would be surprised as to how many children have no clue how to read an analog clock).

My 7 year old son loves this. It keeps him entertained. He loves all the games and love to beat his old score. He loves using it as alarm and use a timer for himself in doing his task or keep him on schedule. He also loves to take picture of things but you know the pictures are not a high quality resolution but it is good enough for his age. He loves exploring this watch and so much features to keep him entertained!

Amazing experience to infinity and beyond!⌚️😶
Our seven year old adores her new watch she got for Christmas! It was well worth the drive in a blizzard risking life and limb to obtain one elsewhere just in the knick of time for christmas. Speaking to the reps at amazon was an amazing experience. We feel completely appreciated as prime members to have such fluent reps who know how to speak efficiently and clearly in multiple languages, it helped me best understand where and why we had our issue and it makes me want to learn more languages so I can help others too. Especially the 35 minute call where we were offered a full refund and cancelation at the end of the extended hold time (that music rocked too!) all of this a day before Christmas. This was highly appreciated and makes us likely to return. We are disappointed we cannot request certain reps if we ever need to call back, he was top notch and deserves a promotion for explaining so well what happened. It all made perfect sense and was completely reasonable. As for the function of the watch…This watch fits her small wrist, had an amazing flashlight so when she drops it a thousand times we can easily find it, oh wait, I mean when she drops it a thousand times we find it with her new fire tablets light, but regardless we find it. The best feature is the lock we can put on it to limit her time using this in a blank mental zone, and allow it when we need a break so we can zone- lol. You can put it in a mode so as not to be a distraction at school, supposedly. Insert eyeroll. This should probably just be an at home thing people…its quite the watch. Battery seems good, fairly easy to use and my favorite part is actually when you go to the parental settings it has this unique security feature to ensure kids cant break into it and change their settings. Awesome right! For a passcode it makes you do different math problems each time! Loved it at first! Then it started to break me down! Here’s me off to the side breaking out my own phone and use the calculator! Great feature VTech! Clever, someone somewhere has a sense of humor not gonna lie! Way to make a grown adult with a MBA feel extra intelligent in a pinch…lets see… 14×9.734[n2]-64+3t=17 +2/5, carry the one…you get my point. Oofda. All in all this was a definite experience, unlike any other. I am hoping this review meets the standards and can help others in their decision to purchase such a fine product with ease through Amazon because they sure set the bar high for reviews, as well as their reps. Definitely purchase this watch and don’t forget a screen protector, case, pillow to scream into, aspirin, cold beverage or bottle and a therapist because I sure wish I knew to get all of this at the same time too.

Great watch–for 4 to 6 year olds who can’t read. Not so great for older kids.
Just bought three for my triplets’ 9th birthday and am returning. This is a great smart watch, but for much younger kids.In our suburb kids are allowed to walk alone to/from school as of 3rd grade. Our guys just started it and we want to end our chauffeur service and have them walk. My wife thought they should have watches if they are on their own so they know if they are running late. I shopped Amazon and bought these due to high ratings, abundance of features, and low price.Got them last night and during set up found that VTech’s marketing and engineering people aren’t on exactly the same page. Phone has many fun settings on it including easy to use camera for still and videos, lots of wallpaper options, and 8 or so games. My guys, if they wear these watches to school, are going to be distracted by them all day long. Watch has parental controls but [1] only thing that can be turned off are the games (all other distracting features are always on), and [2] the parental controls are easy to defeat by anyone who can read (that is: most kids in first grade!) How the marketing people can say “parental controls” are a feature, but the engineers didn’t design with at least a 4 char PIN password is beyond me. You don’t find out the parental controls are so weak until you open the package and dive deep into the owners manual. The owners manual also informs that the pedometer is a toy and shouldn’t be considered accurate–nor can it be set to remain on in background, it must be used as primary feature in foreground to work at all. Granted, at this price point it may not be reasonable to expect a pedometer like one would have on an iPhone or FitBit, but it would have been nice had the marketing materials made that clear prior to purchase. So, we can’t use the watch for our intended purposes and will return them. From my limited time setting up the watch I can say the following. It appears to be solid. Interface should be easy for young non-reader to use. Features will probably appeal to both younger and older (7-10) kids. The cameras (there are 2) are easy to use for both still and moving pictures. The cameras are about iPhone 1 quality and storage capacity is limited. It does not appear difficult to upload images to a PC or Mac (but I haven’t tried). Once uploaded, it’s likely beyond skill set of most younger kids to manage the media on the computer. They say more games are downloadable to the phone but I did not explore. For a reason they don’t explain anywhere, they say you can only recharge watch battery using power from a computer (not a wall outlet charge port). So, this watch will spend lots of time tethered to a computer–make sure you have one available for that purpose. And for the few of you like me with triplets, make sure you computer has 3 USB ports available for charging.

My son loves this watch but there’s a black blob on the one side of the screen, almost as if it was damaged during delivery. I would have exchanged it if he hadn’t seen it

Love it!
So I’m sure you’ve heard of or about “The potty watch” so the potty watch is basically a watch you put on your potty training child and it acts as a timer to notify them when they should go try to use the potty so that they’ll get used to going on their own. So I was scrolling on Amazon preparing to make my purchase, because Aliyah is so some timey with the potty, when I saw the VTech DX2, which is basically a smart watch for kids $15 difference. So I figured hey, I might as well get the smart watch so she can do more with it. So, excited about my purchase I was itching for it to get here only to realize that I can’t set multiple alarms on it, like the potty watch. I was irked, I can’t lie but once I got to play with it, I realized I not only had an alarm, it also had a timer. The timer works great in place of the potty watch. U can set the timer and send your kid to continue doing what kids do. They can even close the timer, and play games or take pics (Aliyah’s favorite part) on the watch, while the timer continues to count down. Overall I’m still extremely happy with my purchase and Aliyah loves her watch. 😍🤗❤️ #EasterGiftReview #VTechDX2

Kid and parent approved – BIG TIME
Santa brought these watches to my 5 & 6 year olds this year and now that we have had them for just over 3 months I feel confident in leaving a review HIGHLY recommending these watches for your littles. My girls have played with these just about everyday since receiving them. These watches are so easy to figure out and actually have a very good amount of apps/activities to choose from that keep them occupied on even the longest of car rides. The camera quality I think is great for the cost of the watch. Aside from being just a toy watch it’s also very educational. My girls BOTH know how to tell time based off a normal hour hand/second hand clock instead of just understanding digital clocks. I will be buying a couple more of these for my nieces and nephews as well. I honestly give it a solid 10/10.

Great little gadget
Lots of activities on the watch. Easy for the kids to use and figure out. Only downfall is just that the device is sorta large, so it’s kinda awkward and bulky. Especially for a young child. This was purchased for a 3y/o. The watch face is large and bulky, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. And thankfully the band does get small enough to give a decent fit. She LOVE taking photos. Our older kids received Gizmo watch phones, and those don’t have nearly the capabilities as this fun watch as far as games and camera (however those are able yo use gps, text and call on a wireless network.)If I could combine the features of this for camera and games, with the wireless features and safety features of the gizmo, I’d get one for all of my kids 200%Overall, this is definitely a fun little gadget. The screen did get cracked before it was even a month old. So do keep in mind it isn’t super durable that way. It’s still fully functional. And the kids weren’t misusing it or anything like that.

Recommend
Gave this as a gift for my 5 year old granddaughter. She loves it. She knows more about the features than I do. Watch is entertaining with fun things she enjoyed. Great that it is a watch making it portable for car trips, etc and less likely to get lost or forgotten at another persons house

7 year old loves it!
My 7 year old granddaughter LOVES this watch. She takes tons of photos – including selfies — and also sets the alarm. She loves to set her own custom clock face w/ photos too. (How do they figure out all this stuff so quickly??) It was important to us to have parental controls to turn off the apps – which this one does. You can spend a ton more $$ – especially if you want GPS fencing — but for something that the kiddos love to use, this one works perfectly !!!

Cool gadget and fun for kids
Gift for 8 year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! Super cute and fun. She loves taking pictures of her little brothers and setting as the clock background. It’s very easy to charge and seems to keep a charge for a good amount of time. It’s nice that it has the option for an analog and digital clock so kids can learn both. My daughter is cautious and responsible so I imagine it will last her however, if your kid is a bit rambunctious, I would limit wear because the clock face is definitely large and easy to hit against something and would easily crack or break. My 2 year old son loves when she lets him play with it too. I would say this would be ideal for 4-9 years old. By 9-10, I’d think kids are ready for more advanced technology and might not be so into the childish look of the watch. But overall, it’s a cool gadget and keeps my daughter entertained and she feels like a big girl wearing a watch and being more independent with her schedule.

Perfect “smart” watch for kids!
My son loved the one we got him for Christmas so much that he wore it out and used his own money to buy another one! He loves to use the voice changer and play the monster catch game. I love that it encourages him to be active and it has helped him with telling time. Lots of fun activities and games to play – with options to download more from the online store (lots of free options which I love!)I do wish there was more memory on it or an option to add a mini SD card.

Great ‘smart’ watch option for 8-9 year old!
Gave this to my daughter for Christmas (she wanted my iWatch), and she loves it! She loves taking photos and videos, as well as all the games on it. She’s still getting used to putting it on, but loves how durable it is.
