iPhone 6s with Otterbox Defender in a pickup
Phone applied to: iPhone 6sPhone case: Otterbox DefenderVehicle: Ferd F-250 STXUpon trying to find the best place to stick the metal plate, I ended up adhering the plate between the rubber outer cover and the plastic case. Mount was applied on 13 Oct, and 5 days later, I’m pleased with the results. The plate ended up in it’s current resting place because with it directly against the phone, the distance the case creates between the plate and magnet was just enough where the phone would not stick to the magnet without slipping.Only time will tell how long the base 3M adhesive sticker will last in Texas.I also purchased the replacement plate kit as a just-in-case.ConsPhone only held by magnetism. (If you think you’ll be traversing rough terrain, involved in striking or being struck by another object, or possibly be rolled over, I don’t suggest a magnet mount. Maybe consider a mount that physically grips your mobile device.)ProsFew moving pieces, hopefully means less fatigue, and longer durability.Collar allows the arm to be locked in place.Base doesn’t require a 100% flat surface to mount on.Low profile, unobtrusive.I likeded it so much, I purchased the 2 pack.

Good design, compact, beware the weak magnet (use superglue)
Works as expected, I use this to record video. I have mine planted under the rear view mirror so it’s out of the way.Only thing to be aware of for purchasers is to know these two things:1. the magnet is not strong enough to work through a phone case, it must be external and in direct contact with the surface mount, or the phone will slowly slide off and drop on bumps.2. the magnet glue is not strong enough to bind firmly to the phone or the case. so after a few uses when you remove the phone off the support, the magnet would stay on the support (detaches itself from the phone). To remedy this, I have used superglue to attach the magnet to the phone (or the case), and it’s extremely robust now.Besides these two things, which are the reasons I just gave it 4 stars. it works well, no shaking and yeah, I’ve superglued the magnet on my phone. Either you do that, or you get a different holder such as one that grips the phone.

not MagSafe compatible
Works well when you install the provided magnet to the back of your phone or case. I was hoping that it would work well with MagSafe iPhones but that is not the case.

More Reliable Than it Looks
Already impressed with this after day one. It took a bit of forcing to get it to set in the vent of my car, but after it was set, it was SET. It’s got weight so it sits in place very steadily, and the magnets are strong so you don’t have to worry nearly as much about your phone de-magnetizing and falling off.Because I’m able to mount my phone in front of the vent now, not only can I easily shift my focus between the road and my phone screen for navigation, but my car’s AC also keeps the phone nice and cool so it can handle navigation for longer! Just make sure to keep an eye on your phone’s battery’s temperature if you can, you don’t want it to get too cold.Satisfaction may vary depending on your car, but for a Kia Soul this mount is excellent. $15 is a good price to at least give the product a try.

We’ll see…
I just received my Scosche suction car mount – the box was a bit beat up, but I chalked that up to shipping. However, I opened the very tiny box…there was no alcohol wipe, the instructions were ripped and suction base wrapping pretty much fell off. (A previous return, maybe??)I have wireless charging, so I played with different places to put the magnet. If I place it in between my case and phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) towards the bottom of the phone, the wireless charging still works and the mount seems to work fine, as long as I keep my phone in the portrait direction. If I change it to landscape, it doesn’t hold. This was recommended to me because the magnet was ‘so strong’… it’s apparently not THAT strong. I’ll try it out in my car and see how it goes…

Needs to include proper USB cable
If you are not up on all the different USB ports then you don’t realize this is a USB C to USB C for my phone. I have not ever seen a USBC to Micro USB cable. So just to save all confusion they should either include adapters or cables. Because if you look at the images you can’t tell that is a USB C port. I have a short USB A to USB C so I don’t have a lot of cord hanging all over my car. Now I have to find a short USB C to USB C cable which just the USB C to USB C is hard to find in the stores and you don’t want to have to wait another day or more to the correct cable.

Quality product
I was a little hesitant about how long this might last. I use this for work and I am in a different vehicle everyday. I didn’t know how long the suction cup portion would last but it stays solid on the dash or window. I would definitely purchase this again.

Secures phone quickly and securely
This product holds phone quickly and keeps it secure but easy to remove when leaving the vehicle. Had to install magnet to outside of this phone case. Has stayed on dash despite hot weather.

Works well, but certainly could be better.
While this system works well for small light objects, heavier objects like a GPS consistently rotate down until they are stopped by the dash. I added some extra paper in the ball socket to keep this from happening, and still need to add some more. The magnet is plenty strong, but the ball and socket isn’t a tight enough fit.

Works with any flip case with embedded magnet
I didn’t need to install the included magnet because I found the magnet embedded in the cover of my flip case works perfectly well with the case open. That makes this so easy to use. I just hold my phone up to the base when I’m in the car and I’m good to go. This mount is small, unobtrusive and quick to use. I’m glad I got this instead of one with a more electorate phone holder. Maybe if I were driving in a gig job or other pro situation, a bigger or more secure mount, or a mount that sticks out farther holding the phone closer to me might be good, but for me this works great and is all I need.

I loved it, only for a short time though.
I loved this mount at first but I’m a truck driver and it fell off the dash after a month or so. The magnet was strong but weakened over a short time. The metal mount fit on my phone. The quality was not enough to handle summer heat and my phone fell off the dash. The mount was flexible enough to move in a many directions.

Refurbished – missing parts and adhesion not good
I got one of the refurbished units since it was a bit cheaper, and unfortunately it was missing one of the key components for the phone end (the metal square you’re meant to attach to your phone for a strong magnetic hold). I was able to use the additional pop-socket metal circle instead, just had to be very precise with placement. Also, maybe this was user error, but the adhesive only held for about five days before falling off my dashboard. I followed the instructions, but maybe it just didn’t like the surface it was attached to.Overall a bit of a bummer, but the magnet is great, and it’s small and convenient enough that I’ll just try and find some stronger adhesive to stick it back on.

Doesn’t support heavy phones…
Lets start of with the pros. It’s compact and easy to install almost anywhere. The interchangeable sides are a great solution for the aesthetic freak (like myself) that wants everything to look perfect inside their vehicle. That’s about it though. To start with the cons is the magnet strength, or lack there of. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max which is a pretty heavy phone. And lets be honest, not many people carry their phone without a case on them so the slip in magnet is disrupted by the extra layer of plastic or rubber that someone might use to protect their phone. I use the Rokform case with 2 strong magnets built in but sadly this little guy could not support it. The first little bump and the phone is ready to jump off the plate and onto my flooring. The second issue is the ball. For most of you that want to use this with a RAM Mount system, sorry the ball is much smaller than the traditional 1″ or 20mm ball that is used with those systems. All in all, I am not going to bash this to dirt because of those two things but those are the things I personally am looking for in a phone support, which is why I gave it a deduction of only two stars. The product may or may not work for you, but for me and my Wrangler we have to take a hard pass on this carrier. Hope this helps someone.

Not as good as the first set we bought
I bought a set of these from Best Buy a year ago and they work great. This year I got a new truck and wanted these same holders. It looks like within the last year they changed to adhesive used to hold them on. We followed all the instructions and the adhesive did not hold. Very disappointed!

Absolutely love this strong little mount
I have one of these in each of my cars both stuck onto a hard mounted plate on my dash. I hate fiddling with the arms on other phone mounts, this magnetic mount is super easy to take the phone on and off quickly and easily. The provided magnet and plate are REALLY powerful. Like, almost too powerful at times. It takes a good amount of effort to pull the phone off of the magnet which is great and makes the phone super secure.I have a pop socket on the back of my phone covering part of the metal plate the magnet sticks too, and even with just half of the plate touching the magnet I have no concerns of my phone coming off.I’m going to take my S2000 to the track soon and plan to see if this will hold the phone in place so I can use it as a lap timer. I’m fairly confident it will work just fine even in high g-load conditions.100% recommend this mount – you’ll never go back to a fiddly floppy arm mount again!

Great product, excellent customer service!
This will always be my go-to phone mount. It fits well in tight spaces and the best part: Excellent customer service! I love to support companies that offer great service!I got a new car and was having troubles trying to figure out what mount I could use and where it would even fit. After buying several different mount, I decided to give this company a call. I was on the phone with Jesus. He was very helpful, patient, and detailed at reviewing my exact car and advice on where I should and shouldn’t put the phone mount, or how to remove it in the future (I am leasing my car).

I really wanted these to work
So I have been building my truck into an “overlander” style. AKA a luxury bugout truck. I saw a bunch of YouTube offroaders singing their praises over the MagicMount Pro’s for holding their iPad Mini’s phones, and all other sorts of gadgets you might need when you’re on a trail or out camping. It also makes it easy to switch positions of things and quickly remove it when you’re stopped.First off, if you have wireless charging on your phone, and you wish to use it, everything get’s worse. I’m not rocking my Pixel 7 Pro without a case… So the case I had was texturized and rounded, meaning the full size mounting plate wasn’t going to stick. Ended up buying a flat backed case, that actually had more protection, and stuck the magicmount plate on the bottom half. That was the recommendation from Scosche if you wanted to keep the ability to wirelessly charge. Well that’s fine, up until the point where you’re driving in even a slightly bumpy paved road, from there it’s a mess… The base tightening screw (to keep the magnet in a fixed location) just won’t stay tight. I’m not sure if it’s from the weight of my heavy P7P being so top heavy or just the poor design of the threads? Either way if it’s not holding my phone it won’t hold my tablet for my GPS software. I might be able to put my radio on it and a few other small things but so much for being a “Pro” version.. At this point it’s either find a different mount solution for my phone or kiss the wireless charging goodbye.

Poor design
I got this as an upgrade to my other magnetic mount of the same brand. However, because of the smooth side of the magnet, my phone slips off consistently. I went back to the OG magnet mount which has a textured magnet! Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.

Honestly a solid mount for your truck or SUV
I was surprised about how many goodies came in with just the regular mount standalone kit. You do not need to order extra metal plates for your phone, two free ones are included. As you can see, the kit includes everything you need to start using this ecosystem. It came with a cleaning wipe, extra black bezel, actual 3M mounting adhesive (not the usual fake stuff), two metal plates to attach to your phone and even a plastic protective film incase you dont want to hard mount the metal plates to your phone or case. The strength is sufficient. I have yet to have my phone fall off in my heavy duty truck which does not have a smooth ride at all. Off-road applications are maybe not advisable. But the daily driver usage of a set it and forget it phone mount that has zero steps to mounting is worth the once in a month phone falling off the mount scenario.I will be using the large magic plate upgrade on the outside of my OtterBox to see if this can hold my pixel 7pro and bulky case even better

Very strong magnet, hold great
I bought this magnetic holder along with the pro clip mount for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. I have seen some of these mounted on jeeps before and they hold up great to on road and off road use so wanted to give it a try.Pros:-Very strong magnet-Comes with metal base plate to place inside your -phone case or to your phone itself-Large area so easy to just place your phone or tablet on itCons:Only comes with adhesive to mount it. Would be nice if you were able to screw it to a clip without having to modify the mount itself. But that’s really just a preference and doesn’t hinder it’s abilities at all

By FAR the BEST
I have been through several mounting systems and this one is the clear winner. One issue you will run into with suction based mounts is that they dont stick well to curved surfaces. this product works flawlessly, even with heavy phones. this is the one to get …trust me!

Remarkably effective at what it does
I only purchased a smartphone about a year ago, previously being in the flip-phone-for-life crowd, due to the requirements of a job I was on. Since then I have slowly been picking up the various accouterments of such devices, the latest being this magnetic mount. I bought it mostly so I can use Google Maps for navigation. It is remarkably effective. I have a Motorola Moto X4 (which weighs about 165g), in a slim silicon case, and an 05 Subaru Outback. The kit comes with the magnetic mount, two metal plates with adhesive (a rectangular one and a little circular one), a clear adhesive interposer, and, as a nice surprise, an alternate, black bezel. What you do is attach the metal plate to the outside of your case, the inside of your case, or your phone. If you choose the lattermost option, then you don’t attach it directly to the phone, but to the clear adhesive interposer (just a clear plastic sheet with adhesive on both sides), likely to prevent surface damage and dampen shock/reduce possible strain. If you have one of those pop-socket devices, you attach the little metal circle to the center of that instead. Then, you fit the magnetic mount to one of the grilles of your car’s vent system, wherever it is most convenient. Now you can mount your phone to it, the magnet clinging to the metal plate.I attached the metal plate to the inside of my case. It is very thin – I would say 1mm or less – and even on my slim silicon case it leaves only a very slight rise, hardly visible from the outside. I also attached it about 2/5ths of the way up from the bottom of the phone, as recommended (the Moto X4 does not have wireless charging). The magnet adheres quite well to the phone – the silicon case actually slightly pulls away when detaching the phone from the mount – not nearly enough to dislodge the case, but enough to let you know that the magnet is really sticking. As the mount has a rubber pad, and my case has a rubber texture, the phone does not slide at all in any lateral direction, the shear resistance is quite high. I am not concerned about the phone just falling off during normal operation of the car.The tines of the mount grip the vents quite well – I have only had the mount pull off the vents once when detaching the phone after parking. There are two sizes of gaps – narrow and wide – and the narrow gap seems to fit pretty well on the Subaru. I like how you can pivot the mount a little to the left or right, and use the vent’s own hinge to pivot it up and down. There are some basic shortcomings of design. Obviously you can only attach this to the vents of the car, which limits your choice of positioning. I tried putting it on the left vent, but that caught too many outside reflections. I tried the right vent, but my hand was mostly blocking the screen. I tried the left passenger-side vent, but found that this took my eyes too far off the road while checking the navigation. In the end, I went with the driver’s side right vent, since it required the least eye-movement to check navigation and it was actually helpful to have my had block the screen, so as to avoid distraction. The tines hold, but they are not as secure as a hard mount would be. Likewise, the magnet could, in theory, be bumped out of position by kids/pets/carelessness and fall down into the foot well. However, I would generally recommend this, at least as someone’s first mount, to get a feel for what they are looking for if nothing else.

I love these, this is my second
They work very well to hold my iPhone 12 up on my windshield. Note that on really hot summer stints, they may occasionally fall off in 100+ sun. But, if you attach when it is 100+, man do they stay in place. Magnet is plenty strong to hold my phone, and swivel head adjusts and stays where i put it. Bought second to put in another vehicle.

*WARM WEATHER* Adhesive did not work with proper preparation and application
After cleaning my dashboard, wiping it with isopropyl alcohol, and then the supplied wipe, I pressed the mount adhesive to my car for the recommended 30 seconds. I didn’t use the mount at all with my phone (an iphone XR (6.84oz, on the lighter side for a full size phone), but when I went to start my car the next day the mount was sagging forward, with the adhesive peeling off at the top. Thankfully, I ordered the two pack, so I just cleaned everything off and did it again. I did it later in the evening so the summer heat wouldn’t get to it as much, and pressed down for twice as long (60 seconds). No dice, same sagging when I came out in the morning. The mount does come with a backup adhesive, so with my two pack I had two more tries. This time I rotated the adhesive 90 degrees, thinking it would make a difference. Unfortunately, it did not. On my last try, I drove all over my apartment complex looking for the best shaded spot. This time it stuck through the night! However, after work the same issue occurred.I do live in the US southwest, so these extremely high temps may just be too much for this little mount. I’ve had success with Scosche mounts before, so I am fairly disappointed. If you’re in a warmer climate, I’d look elsewhere.

Very nice solution for my Ford F350
I’ve had this in my truck (08′ F350 King Ranch 4×4) for a few months now and there are a few things about it that I like vs. the Nato magnetic mount that’s in my wifes car. The footprint that actually sticks to the dash is not too large, I was able to find a spot for it on the center stack of my F350 that was within reach and visible. This is on-par with the Nato mount- they are almost identical in footprint. The one thing I was skeptical about when I first got it was the size of both the magnet and the magnetic surface that attaches to my phone case- but it’s a non-issue, it grabs my phone and hasn’t fallen off once. I’m not doing hard off-roading my truck but it’s stuck on there well enough that I’ve stopped thinking about it. My wifes Nato mount again seems solid as well which brings us to the last thing. Both mounts are “ball mounts”- there’s a ball on the phone side of the mount that swivels in a cup with a ring that you tighten when you’ve found the position you like. The Scosche mount can be tightened finger tight and the mount stays exactly where you put it, the Nato mount, even with extra torque on the ring will move after a while and begin to sag/ wiggle. So as far as stability while driving goes the Scosche mount is good- I was up north a week ago on dirt roads and it did well- it flexes a bit when it gets bumpy but a lot less than you’d expect. My wifes Nato mount will begin to move around and loosen up a bit and the phone will sag and flop around- not good. All in all I’m satisfied with the Scosche mount- high quality, easy to mount, solid performance.

Foam tape will fail in a hot car
I generally love the mount, and the magnetic function works very well for me, but there’s a very critical flaw in this unit. The double-sided foam tape that holds the mount to the dash will fail in the super-heated environment of a car during the summer. Before applying the tape to the dashboard material I meticulously cleaned the dashboard with 91% rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth for about 30 seconds, applying the foam as soon as any moisture from the alcohol had evaporated.I had four failures during the recent warm spell. They had all been applied last September and lasted well through the winter and spring, but once we started getting 85 and 90° days that was it. They all fell off. Some without anything on them, and two with very lightweight accessories (less than 3 ounces). So far all attempts to contact the company have failed.I am an off-roader and this is in my Jeep, so holding my various devices safely is critical and I would frankly pay double or even triple the price of these for a solution that will guarantee adhesion when the Jeep gets to be over 150° in July. If you live somewhere cold they’re fine, but beware the summer.

Wow. This Thing STICKS!
Im actually shocked how strong this magnet is. I’m still waiting for my ProClip mount for my car but Im worried that the magnet will overpower the double-sided tape that secures the magnet to the mount and peel the tape off AND Im also worried that the magnet won’t allow me to remove the phone without breaking the phone mount or peeling the tape from the base as well. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow when the mount comes in.

Exactly what I needed…
I have always been a fan of using magnetic mounts for my phones in my vehicles. Recently picked up a new to me vehicle and needed a strong magnetic mount to pair up with a ProClipUSA mount that is specific to my vehicle. This worked perfect.

The tightening screw comes loose
Loved the mount at first. Magnet is strong! Went to the window suction cup mount from same company. Would not recommend. Go to Suction cup!

Ok product
The idea is great but the weight distribution messed up my power port in the car

Have been using this mount for 2 years now
Installed the mount the day I got it and have been using it for the past 3 days. Very easy to install. I deliver groceries for extra income so I am constantly putting my phone on the mount and taking it off in order to take a photo proof of each delivery. This is why a magnetic phone mount is the best choice for me. I tried the steelie dash mount before the magic mount and it fell off within 10 minutes. This mount (magic mount) has not moved at all since installation, even with the humidity and rising temperatures. It’s very small and descreet which is exactly what I was looking for.Edit: it is now 2 years since I wrote the above review and I still use this same exact mount daily in my car. I have the one that sticks on your dash. The mount itself has never fallen off my dash and my phone has never fallen off the mount, even with all the driving I do. I’m constantly putting my phone on the mount, then take it off the mount, since I use my phone for gig work. I came back here now to purchase one for a friend. Definitely recommend, even to the constant driver.

Popped off
We have two other dash brackets just like this. This one unfortunately fell off the dash. Cleaned the dash of oils and residue. Adhered the unit. Stayed one for 4 days and then when the car interior got hot it popped offThe others one we have are fine still after several years.

Love these things!
Ive monkeyed with several different phone mount designs over the years that clamp the phone in various ways. All of the others worked just fine but took a little fiddling with to get the phone in place, only to have to pop it back out to use the phone and then fuss with getting it back in. Saw this product on a display at the car dealership and thought it was pretty cool, but they wanted $50 for it and figured Amazon has to be able to beat that price. $30 for a two-pack seemed like a decent deal so I gave it a shot. This has to be the best mount I have ever used! No holes to drill, the included double-sided adhesive tape does an excellent job at holding the base to your dash. The base has a small foot-print so finding a bare spot on your dash is not difficult. The base is designed to flex/bend a bit so you can mount it on slightly curved surfaces. There is a very thin metal plate that has to be adhered to the back of your phone but it will fit under your typical phone case. The phone is held to the base using strong rare-earth magnets, with enough “suck” to hold your phone in place, even with the typical phone case installed. If using a super thick/heavy duty armored case, you may have to mount the thin metal plate on the outside of the case. The best part is you merely stick the phone to it in just about any orientation and it just stays there. The wife liked it so much that she stole the second one. I’m planning on picking up another for my tractor (yes, it sticks that well).

Works as advertised
I don’t trust adhesive in the cabin of a vehicle, especially when used to mount expensive electronic devices. I mated this with a Panavise in-dash custom mount in my WRX and used a small pair of bolts with acorn nuts to secure them together. Perfect match, and secures my phone for *spirited* driving.

Started with one, bought 3
So I got one for my personal truck, worked great, bought one for my work truck (line truck) and was super happy. Work truck goes off road, pot hole crummy roads and the the phone still holds, everything else in the truck might be on the floor but the phone will still be on the holder. It’s mounted on a vertical surface near my fuel and def gauge and it stays unless I pull it off and the little clip on the back keeps the charging cord off the floor board and out of the mud. Worth the money

Sad
I thought this was going to be the answer for the cell phone, but no. After a while, it won’t stay upright, therefore it falls over & now you are trying to find the phone somewhere on the floor of the car. Not a good product.

Not as good as the old version
I’ve had the previous version of this mount, for at least 6 years. It was the best mount I ever had.. This version does not stay put and rolls over, from side to side more easily, at the male end. I noticed that the rubber bumpers (on the cigarette lighter end) are not as prominent, therefore it’s looser and my phone flops from side to side. Not sure why they made this change
