Another Throw Away Toy
Arrived, box sealed. You can tell right off though, cheap cheap. The back ground screen was so crooked. I sent it back. If your child/grand child uses like my daughter used her original in 80s, it might last couple of weeks. Like others have commented, thin, cheap and yes, they do NOT make items like they use to.

Good for kids not for note taking
Got it for note taking. For this purpose it don’t work well as the pen is small and the writing is not very precise. For kids it will work great

Just what we wanted
Our toddler makes a mess with markers and always loses the caps. This product is a classic for good reason. Clean, durable, affordable, and literally used every day for play and lessons. Great job!My mom (grandma) bought the miniature 4 color version for our the baby bag. It’s helped with meltdowns and when playing with friends. Also a good product.

We use it to leave notes for the family
Better than hunting for a piece of paper and a pen, this Magna Doodle enables our family to leave quick notes for each other (like, “I’ve gone for a walk. Be back in an hour.”). Love it!

Not the same
I bought one for my son for Christmas thinking it’d be the same as the Magna-Doodle from my childhood. Oh, it is not the same from the 80s/90s. The one I had was a thick sturdy plastic frame. This one is lightweight, thin, feels flimsy. The screen bends with a little pressure. Of course my 3 year old doesn’t know how amazing the old ones were so he’s just thrilled with this one but as a parent who grew up loving the old ones it’s disappointing to see they’ve gotten so cheap and are probably more expensive than the old ones too…

Not as good as “old” ones
I ordered it for my 6 and 3 1/2 year old grands. My children had loved it. Perfect for travel, etc. It looked great, though the box was damaged. That may be why the slider sticks in a spot making it hard to erase. The pen works well, but the circle and star stamps can’t be pressed hard enough to make the shape. They will probably like it for a while, but it is not as sturdy or easy to use as the ones my kids had.

It okay but not great
We have a toddler at home and we use it for making him write alphabets and shapes. It is good for scribbling but wouldn’t recommend as the clarity is not great. The brightness is not as described in the pictures.

Good product overall, but was clearly used and had missing screws
This was a gift for a 3 year old family member, and i was utterly ashamed. The parents told me it was clearly opened before, has few marks, but what really blew our mind was it was missing 2 screws! Someone took parts and put it back in the box…? The parents decided it wasnt worth the hassle to return it, since its still working and shiping would cost more, but this caused me to be very embarrassed! I paided full price, so why did i get a second hand item? Visited them today, took some pictures.

Thinking outside of the box and inside a shower
I needed something reusable to jot down ideas in the shower. Most everything that is advertised as writes in the shower/rain is too small, disposable, or doesn’t work with water or humidity. It wasn’t until remembering this toy from my childhood that I found something that works. It isn’t perfect but good enough to write down some key words and revisit after the shower. As for it’s quality, it is pretty much the same as all those years ago; which is also just good enough. The drawings always had a bit of blurriness to them. The “pen” doesn’t write fine lines. And, it could erase better. But, all in all, it is doing what I need it to do and I’d imagine the kids wouldn’t mind the downsides. So still a good gift/toy at a price that seems reasonable in todays market.

Surprisingly durable!
Got this for my 4 year old for Christmas and in the 3 days since then, he and my 18month old have been fighting over it! It’s been stomped on, slung across a room, chewed on, and jerked around by the string; It’s holding up for sure!

A cheapened version of the one you had in the ’90s
The blue frame is flimsier than you remember, and less protective of the insides. The screen has a grainy texture, rather than shiny, so that the stylus doesn’t float as smoothly. The eraser thingy that swipes along a track at the bottom is balky and wants to turn sideways. The stylus is shorter, so an adult has trouble holding it. (Grownups like them, too!)If the originals had been this cheapo, there would be no Magna Doodle reissue at all.

Works great, but slide does get jammed
Definitely a good homage to a vintage toy, seems to work great and the added magnets are great. The only knock is the one that has been mentioned several times, that the erasing slide bar definitely gets bound up and can be difficult even for an adult to smoothly push across, nevermind a toddler. That being said, it can be done, and sometimes it works fine, so overall it’s still a fun toy we get a lot of use out of.

Great!
My two year old loves this! It’s too big to fit in the baby bag, but it’s a nice quiet toy. Great for the car or church. She’s been pretty rough on it and it has held up great. Be aware that there are a couple of little “stamps” that come with it. They aren’t attached and just fit inside slots in the board. Definitely a choking hazard. I just took them out before initially giving the board to my daughter.

Feels just like the original, but someone dropped the ball on QC.
This is almost exactly the same product as the one I remember having as a kid.My son is having a blast trying out different magnets on the surface, and practicing letters/numbers as I hoped. It has the same old issues as well, such as the eraser bar being fiddly and a bit of a flimsy *feel*. I feel this doesn’t take away from the overall enjoy-ability, but it’s worth noting.Ruler for scale, just mind that it’s missing an inch, because kids. However… the unit I received had a damaged box as well as numerous small scratches, scuffs, and dents. It’s obviously not the “New” condition I paid for, but with everything going on I certainly don’t want to take it from him to refund…

Ok quality
Things have become so cheaply made. The magnet is hollow and only leaves a dark thick line. Disappointed they don’t make this like it used to be made.

As fun as I remember
Draws like it did when I was a kid. Only thing is the plastic feels much lighter, not in a good way in a less durable weak way. But so far it’s been fine. Also the circle stamps no longer have that nice satisfying “click” when going back into the holder.

this was a gift and the recipient loved it
This was a gift and I only saw it used one evening but the recipient loved it and went back to it several times even after opening his other Christmas presents. The marks were dark and the erase bar worked great. I am hoping it will hold up over time.

Great travel toy
When traveling we usually hand our son electronics to play. We started at looking at other options to lessen his electronic usage and we came across this board. We cannot be happier, it is easy to use, has a big screen and our son loves it. We have incorporated a few games with this drawing board, giving us quality family time while traveling, grab it now.

Leaks oily substance or breaks
I have a very gentle kid, he’s a reader and plays softly with his toys. I’ve had to buy two of these magna doodles because (he loves them) but the first one started leaking an oily substance through the drawing white part. Super weird. The second one’s clearing mechanism all of a sudden became impossible to move and I reached out to CRAZART three times with no response and their phone number always says your calling during the wrong hours even if it’s not. Since I’ve reached out, the red slider completely broke when I tried to clear it for my son. I don’t feel like buying a third, but my son loves them but I would suggest going with a better brand. Wish I never would have bought.

Not Just a Toy…
My spouse watches a two-and-a-half year old. He loves his Magna Doodle. Yeah, okay… I played with it too (with him, of course). Then it struck me that if we hung one of these near the main house entrance door on the inside, we could easily leave erasable notes to each other if leaving the house for a time. We now have a Magna Doodle just to the left of our side entry door and we use it all the time (we live on a farm so we’re always in and out of the house). This is great and should last forever and the price is right!

Too difficult for a 4 year old or a 72 year old to erase the board. I even tried some oil in hopes it would move easier when erasing.

Use the circular magnet to erase!
First of all, I like that it writes in black! It was a struggle to find one that is not so colorful. I also like that the pen is attached with a string so it doesn’t get lost. The only thing is, it was bit hard to erase at first (especially if you leave your/your kid’s drawings for too long) but I found it easy to erase when I used the circular magnet that it came with to cover/draw the entire board then erase. Hope my review is helpful!

Could use improvements
My kids like it but it could use some improvements. The plastic is very cheap feeling so one wrong drop and it’s done for. The 2 little magnets need to be attached somehow because they fall out then get lost easily or in my family’s case eaten by the dog

Cheaply made
Don’t buy it if it’s not on sale- it’s super cheap. Does not feel sturdy at all- if someone steps on it- it’ll be toast. It had some spots on it that wouldn’t erase right out of the box and you have to swipe multiple times to clear the doodles. The kids still enjoy playing with it- but as a parent I’m definitely not impressed.

It’s big, easy to use, lever clear the screen smoothly. My 5yo daughter did get upset becoz this is only in black color unlike the old ones she had which was red , yellow, green and blue in different areas. But she eventually get over it.After being abused and fight over by my 3 kids for over 3 months, the magnetic board is still working fineI would recommend it

Very close to the original
Granddaughter really enjoyed playing with her daddy’s 90s Magna Doodle so I purchased this for her to have as her own. It’s lighter than the original, it’s also a little smaller. If you have the old stencils etc from the original, they’re too big to use with this. It does make a nice, inexpensive gift and it’s great for preschoolers/early elementary to practice their letters and writing. It’s nice to have in the car to keep the little ones occupied on road trips. Everything snaps neatly into place for storage.

An old favorite
With all the new digital drawing pads now available I’m surprised this product hasn’t been improved. One bit since it was first introduced. The pen is still not round enough to make a nice smooth swipe across the screen. The cells of the screen are still a lower, larger than I think they need to be. I would like to see a better erase action on this product.

Instant Hit for a Three Year Old’s Birthday Gift
Not that I doubted it, but this popular drawing and designing toy was exactly what a boy with a short attention span enjoyed as a variety from his usual building blocks, cars and trucks, and electronic device. It’s an open art activity that allows for a plethora of doodles so it keeps a kid (and adult’s) interest when varied with the rest of their toy shelves. It was a good price and perfect idea for a birthday gift for a child I hadn’t seen in a year. He loved it and so did his parents because it doesn’t have a bunch of small pieces and can be stuffed in the tote and taken on trips or keep a kid occupied in a waiting room. Definitely recommend.
