PERFECT VEST!
I absolutely LOVE this vest! It is warm and soft and cozy, fits like a dream, and has the best pockets! The two outer pockets are deep enough for a cell phone and keys, plus they zipper closed. The two inner pockets are even BIGGER! The photo shows my Kindle easily fitting inside one of them. Another favorite feature is the generous and well-shaped collar, which really keeps my neck warm and snug. The fit is very flattering and comes in slightly at the sides. I ordered this vest in my usual size (L) and it fits perfectly and very comfortably. The hemline lands right where my hip bends, which is exactly where I want it. For reference, I am 5’8″ and 170 lbs and 38D. The main zipper closure and two pocket zippers are sturdy and glide smoothly. I can’t say enough about this wonderful vest and how perfect it is for Fall/Winter wardrobe. It goes with everything, and makes my plain tops look sporty and dressed up. I’ll be wearing this everyday! You won’t disappointed, and I highly highly recommend it.

Love this vest
I’ve been a Columbia sports brand lover for quite some time. I own umpteen different colors of the long sleeve fleeces. I much prefer their products to pricier ones such as Reebok, Puma, and others. I spend my cold Upstate NY winters in them and they actually help us save on oil heating prices. I love that the fleece washes and drys well and generally does not lose its fluffiness.Never having bought one of the vests before, I decided to take a chance and order one. I LOVE THIS VEST! It fits me very, very well. I am 5’3″, weigh about 122, 36C and ordered a medium. I must say, however, that I usually wear almost all my vests in early spring and fall with a lightweight sweater. I believe a small would fit me if I just wore it over a long-sleeved tee shirt. I should add that I do wear the sweater/vest combo in the winter under a heavy coat. I think that this Columbia vest won’t be too bulky to do that.The fleece is a nice heavier weight compared to some more budget-conscious fleeces. The aqua color is absolutely gorgeous and true to what is shown on most monitors. I can’t wait to wear it with my turquois jewelry. The collar is tall when raised, which will be great on those crisp fall days when I want to wear a scarf. All the zippers work really well, pockets included. I should mention that the pockets are deep and wide enough to carry my cell and a few smaller items in just one pocket.As for styling, I also like that the sides of the vest aren’t sewn slab straight but rather indent slightly, giving the illusion of a waist line. For those are you who are larger sizes, this indent for the waist is not so significant that it will look strained on you and perhaps will make it appear that you are not a larger size. I only suggest this and do not know it as a fact because I’ve not seen these Columbia vests on others.Overall, I am absolutely thrilled to know that Columbia makes great vests that fit well and are made to be worn over and over again. I’m sure, though, that this “addiction” to Columbia fleece will not be good for my budget!

Great vest but be careful ordering an XXL – recieved the wrong size
The vest is quite nice but I wanted to warn folks to be careful when ordering an XXL. According to their size chart (and the products themselves) XXL and 2X are different sizes. I ordered an XXL in “dark nocturnal” and the item showed up in the cart as 2X. I thought that was a bit weird, but maybe that was just how it was labeled in their system. When it arrived, it was definitely a 2X – labeled as such and way too big.I went back to Amazon and confirmed that anytime you put an XXL dark nocturnal in your cart, it shows as 2X. But the black XXL showed as XXL in my cart, so I ordered that and it was actually a XXL. It fit well and I’m keeping that one. Hopefully they will sort out the problem, but in the meantime, pay attention to how it is labeled in your cart.The vest itself is soft, warm, looks nice, and has 2 deep inner pockets in addition to the 2 zippered side pockets. I think it will be great. I have the coat version of this as well and it is very cozy and warm.

Great Vest am most likely going to order in other colors and fits true to size assuming you don’t wear a super bulky hoodie or light jacket underneath. Great Product and as another review stated the color ‘black’ is more of a ‘charcoal’ for sure.

LOVE it!
We’re now in cold weather and I am frequently cold. But if I wear a heavier shirt / sweater, I end up too hot when I am moving around at work. This vest seemed perfect. I’ve been losing weight so I’m having a bit of a challenge trying to figure out sizing, so I went with a 1X. I’m 205 pounds in a size 16 jeans. I really like the length as I don’t like to emphasize my bottom half & prefer to cover it. I can zip this vest comfortably over my long sleeve shirt & it looks nice without feeling bulky or clingy as I move around at work. My winter coat goes over it nicely & I don’t feel stuffy or bulky. It’s as if I’m just wearing a normal shirt. I keep warm, but I don’t overheat. I haven’t yet washed it as I’m using it like an indoor jacket. I hope it washes as well as other reviews have stated.

Great vest!
This is a great buy and fit – I wasn’t sure about the color, stone green but it is very nice and will go with plenty. I am 5’8” about 142 and a medium fits perfectly. Might need to order a 2nd in another color. Well made and the zippers on the packets are an added bonus. I have broad shoulders so the shoulders don’t come to the top of my arm but still looks fine.

Perfect!
My husband bought me this vest for Christmas and everyone was impressed with it. The fit is great, not boxy and not clingy, the weight is just right when I need a little warmth but not a sweatshirt, and the fabric is smooth and soft. I think I’m going to see what other colors are available.

Columbia quality in a cozy fleece
I bought this for my sister for Christmas. I’m sure she’ll like it. I have 2 of them: one in a smaller size L & one in a larger size, XL. Why? Sometimes I want the fleece warmth snug up against my core over a shirt, and other times, I need it larger to wear over a pullover sweater. The zipper pockets are terrific. And you can cinch the bottom too. I love the Benton Springs line. I have 2 jackets in 2 sizes because sometimes, I wear the smaller size snug against me as a base layer under a windbreaker or down jacket. At the risk of sounding phony, I just love these jackets & vests. The are a very nice medium weight fleece. And I think the price is reasonable too.

Cozy and fits well, ordered a size down
I love this vest. I was looking to replace an old Columbia vest that I’ve worn for years and the zipper pull broke off. That old one is a size medium and at this point quite tight. So initially I ordered a large in this one. But the sizing is different and the large was too loose. I returned it and ordered a medium, which fits perfectly. It’s snug to the body but still movable without being tight. Enough room to wear over a shirt or light sweater, but not too bulky to wear under a coat.

Bad construction, odd design
First, the bottom 1-1/2 inches of the collar are thick, as though purposely padded, all the way around the neck. I can only assume that the seamstress bunched up the neckline edge of the vest’s body (and maybe even folded it over) before attaching the collar. It feels bunchy and doesn’t lay flat if worn with collar folded down rather than standing up (in which case it feels like one of those medical neck braces).Second, this vest has a princess cut, meaning the curved quarter-front seams that are meant to provide room for a bustline. The problem is, this happens way too high on the garment. The way it is cut only works if your boobs are 2+ inches above where your armpits would line up. As another reviewer mentioned, this creates an odd bulge in your high chest area.I also find the fabric to be pretty subpar.Where is the Columbia brand styling and quality and workmanship that I have l purchased for many years? Between this vest in several colors and the Columbia jacket I also ordered in several colors which also has issues, It’s appearing Columbia as I knew it has gone.

Newer Ones Run Bigger Than 2 Year Ago Ones
Updated new review from recent purchase:I bought another one recently, this time the Cherry color in XS because I’ve lost weight from my last purchase made about 2 years ago. Last time I bought the S. I have compared both and they are the same, no size difference at all. In fact the material/fleece on the newer vest is now a little bit thinner. Oh well, quality is under par most likely due to inflation. Ok I get that but why did the sizing change. I sized down for a reason. I hate returning stuff and since I wear these at home I kept it. Had I known about the sizing I would have gotten the dark blue in XS petite which was offered at a much lower price. Instead I paid over $10 more for this one thinking that it should fit. Boy was I wrong and now the XS petite in the blue has jumped up in price as well. This review reflects Columbia on sizing and not the seller.This is from over 2 years ago:Bought this in Small and in Black. As stated by the other reviewers, black is not true black it’s more of a charcoal gray and I’m ok with that. I needed something warm to wear working from home yet I won’t have to roll up any jacket sleeves to wash the dishes. Bought 2 last year for my mother at a Columbia store but since Covid I haven’t gone back so Amazon to the rescue.. The fleece is nice and thick especially the collar and I can stand it up to keep my neck warm when I have my hair up. It’s fitted but not tight at all, I can still wear layers underneath even zipped up. I normally wear size Small or even XS in mainstream brands. I have Small Columbia and North Face jackets so I was not surprised at the fit. This is exactly what I was looking for. I’m happy with my purchase. In addition, my estimated delivery date was 12/24 but I got it on 12/17 which was a bonus. For reference I’m 34C, 29” waist and 38” hip if that helps anyone.

Functional
I am 4’11, 104 lbs. Chest 34″ . I bought size XS. It fits well for me. Length is up to the hips, not covering the entire buttocks, meaning not reaching the end of the buttocks. it looks good and curby this way. Compare to size S which my daughter gave me, that one cover the whole buttocks and more straight to a less curby person, although I like them bought because the small is not too close to the body and not to hot then. while the XS really added warm to the body. it is really a personal choice of a person. I don’t think it is thick but it gives enough heat. I bought a grey and a white. The white is not that bad, that people said that it is see-through. I think if you wear a darker color undershirt or too much print fabric, It will see through. I use an a light blue and light pink undershirt. I have no problem,

Great vest for layering
I love Columbia’s clothes and I’ve given up on buying more expensive ‘trendy’ brands (looking at you Patagonia and North Face!) There are only 3 things I look for in fleece clothing 1) good insulation, 2) does not shrink after washing, and 3) doesn’t pill up.For many years I owned North Face outdoor clothing almost exclusively but as I started changing out my gear due to age/wear and tear I noticed prices were climbing to match with their main competitors. The way I see it, fleece is literally just fuzzy polyester so I couldn’t care less if it’s branded or not. $100 for a polyester sweater is just ridiculous. I go through at least 1 a year so it couldn’t be Walmart brand as long as it keeps me warm I’ll be ok.Columbia makes great clothing without a stupidly high price tag and I think their gear is criminally underrated. I always invest in a good quality merino wool baselayer and a Goretex shell but the insulation in the middle is always fleece because I don’t like maintaining down. Right now I have 3 Columbia fleeces plus this vest. All of them have a great insulation to weight ratio, don’t shrink after being washed, have held up to the use and abuse of a chronically careless adventurewoman and at a fraction of the cost of other brand names. I really don’t see a reason to buy more expensive brands that do the same thing unless you’re trying to make fleece a fashion statement.

Good bang for your buck, but very large
The item is not true to size. It is much, much larger than the typical XS, allowing for cold air to slip between you and the garment. I would have to wear many thick layers underneath for a better fit.Other than sizing, the vest is a great mid layer option for only $30.

Size is a problem
I have a Columbia jacket that I really like so I ordered the same size for the vest. It was a bit small, so I ordered the next size up and it was way too big. Sadly, had to return it. Nice quality, but I wish the sizes were more standardized.

Possibly Counterfeit
I have bought this vest from Columbia more than 6 times. The last one I purchased from Amazon, the fabric quality was much thinner than all my other BENTON vests. In fast, just 1-2 month prior, I purchased another color directly from the Columbia website and the fabric was thick and plush. The care tags look the same, the outside brand tag looks the same, but the inside tag (next to the neck) has a slightly different print / font. Possibly counterfeit or didn’t pass quality control? I don’t know. Returned. This is the reason why I almost always buy direct from the brand or manufacturer these days.

Instant favorite
My mom used to wear a black vest around the house growing up. When I saw this vest, I immediately thought of her. Now that she’s retired and living it up in tropical climates, there’s no need for such a vest.I like the fit of this vest, as well as the warmth it provides. I plan to pair it with thermal long sleeves from 32 degrees and turtlenecks this winter. It’s a great layering piece for NorCal weather. I’m tempted to buy the version in white so that I can have another neutral, but I’ll stick to the one I’ve purchased for now.

The standard- and works for big boobs.
Dependable Columbia. The fleece is quality, the workmanship is good. The vest conforms well, and if a medium fits and looks this good on a 5’10”, 36DDD body, it’s bound to fit a wide variety of women. I’ve got them in an array of colors.

Soft and warm, not really shaped for an hour glass figure.
It’s soft, it’s warm. Good for layering; bought for travel in case it gets chilly during the evenings in high altitude and I think it will do the job for that just fine. It’s a bit baggy in the stomach so if you have a traditional hour glass figure just an FYI it will be a bit baggy through the mid section. So depending on your body type you may want to adjust the size you order. I sized up so that it wouldn’t be too tight on the chest, and it fit fine there.

Winter vest
Vest was made of quality material and fit according to guide. Was a good length with durable, lasting zipper. Was lined on inside and vinyl outside kept the weather off me. Very comfortable. Used it to layer with.
