OK basic athletic shorts
They fit a bit closer than others brands like champion or under armour. Also, they feel like they are made of a thicker version of those reusable grocery bags. They do not breath as well as champion basketball shorts. They seem to be working ok for light walking/jogging, and weight lifting.

Great for the gym or running
I use these on a daily basis and am continuing to buy more. I used to use big brand names like Nike or Under Armour, but these are just as good for half the price. The only gripe, and it’s a very personal gripe, is that the pockets are very large and when I’m running it causes my phone to bounce around a lot.

Comfy with deep pockets but a little light on the elastic waistband
Always on the lookout for good gym/rugby short just hanging around or daily use and not spend a fortune. I never find they have deep enough pockets and lose stuff sitting down if I’m not careful. These have deep enough pockets so my stuff stays put.I would have given them 5 stars but the elastic waistband is a little light so I have to snug up the cord making them just a little less comfortable.

comfy to wear around the house
I like to wear these types of shorts when lounging around the house or working out in the yard. I purchased a pair of these like 3 years ago and like them so I purchased them again. Like with most things, the new pair are made of a much thinner material than the last pair. They still work well for around the house, yard work or PJ’s (reason I purchased them), but probably wouldnt wear them to the gym or in public. I dont think they will hold up to washings and wear as well as the last pair, but time will tell.I would purchase these again and tried to but unfortunately Amazon sold out during Prime day and has yet to get them back in stock. Hopefully they will restock them soon. I really like these shorts for my intended use and would recommend them, but dont think I would purchase them as a gift due to think quality of material.

I can’t believe how nice these are
I honestly wasn’t expecting much at this price, but these are actually pretty good! The material is not super thin like some cheap shorts I’ve owned. The most surprising part is that they fit really well, perfectly true to size. They’re obviously not as nice as my Under Armour shorts, but those cost 3x as much. I’ve already ordered 2 more pairs of these Amazon shorts, and I expect I will order more when the time comes

Good workout shorts
Purchased for my son. Sizing is good and a medium fits as expected. These are basic workout shorts but my son said they’re pretty comfortable and the price can’t be beat. He uses these to workout in at the gym. They have not shrunk from a basic wash and dry cycle. Overall, a good buy that is also economical seeing as how there are two in the pack.

Super comfortable shorts
I’ve had these shorts a while, yet somehow keep forgetting to review them. It would be a shame for me to let this go on any longer. They’re incredibly lightweight, I hardly even feel like they’re on at any given time. Their mesh-like fabric is comfortable, and when working out—breathable. The elastic band has held up well, with no flaws. The pockets aren’t terribly deep, but they’ll work for holding your keys if they’re not too bulky. Based on the pocket depth, I don’t recommend sliding your phone into them as the device is too big and heavy to stay secure. Good price as well.

alright shorts
You get what you pair for. they’re not the most amazing shorts but they also aren’t terrible. For the most part they are decent shorts with an alright quality. The only major issue is that if you sweat a little bit in them then the material they are made with can make your thighs a little itchy, but not irritatingly so.

Comfortable for Recovering from Surgery
I returned home from the hospital after a radical prostatectomy (removal of prostate via robotic assist) and had a dreaded catheter in place for the next week. I then realized my normal Under Armor gym shorts were too tight at the waistband, which is the site of all 5 ports on my lower stomach. That started the search for “loose fitting men’s active shorts” and these Amazon Essentials popped up. They are super comfortable and most importantly loose-fitting (that leaves room for external plumbing apparatus). So far I love them but reduced the score by one star because the fabric does snag easily on everything. Velcro is your worst enemy. Same day delivery was also most appreciated. So if you’re looking for some light weight loose fitting shorts at a very reasonable price- these are the ones you want.

Grandpa approves
I bought these for my super picky 93 year old Grandpa who wanted shorts that had an elastic waist band and that he did not need to wear a belt with. “I’m 93 years old and I’m over wearing a belt or suspenders.” Grandpa says he likes these shorts because they come in lots of colors so he can match all of his t-shirts and they are athletic shorts, but the black and navy pairs look very nice so he feels more dressed up. They aren’t see through, have washed very well, and are the perfect weight for his PT appointments or for every day wear.
