Season after season, the 1150 Arctix Youth Snow Pants with Reinforced Knees and Seat serve as an outstanding value priced ski/snow pants. These pants feature a 100% polyester dobby ThermaLock shell with a 210T polyester taffeta lining for added strength W/R + W/P 3000mm Coating, offering a maximum degree of durability and protection from the elements. 85 grams ThermaTech Insulation offers warmth in a lightweight, low bulk garment, keeping you warm at temperatures from -20° to +35° depending on your level of activity. DWR finish (Durable Water Repellent) helps repel water from fabric surface. The adjustable waist ensures a comfortable fit, while Boot Gaiters with Grippers form a seamless integration with the boots to keep the warmth in, and the moisture out. These relaxed fit pants also include 600 Denier Ballistic reinforced seat, knees, ankle, scuff and hem guards to hold up against daily wear & tear, and conveniently has an O-ring for keys, gloves and/or lift tickets. The pants provide zippered hand warmer style pockets, a zippered fly, and belt loops. They are water and wind resistant, and are machine washable.

Durable, but not like the picture
The color matched, but there was no flowers on the knee so my daughter wasn’t very happy about that! They keep snow off clothes, but just be aware the pattern in the picture may not be on the pair you receive.

Cannot cinch the waist at all. Design flaw for kids’ pants.
Unlike other children’s pants with an adjustable waist feature, this one doesn’t work at all. You cannot adjust/tighten the waist at all. If you have a kid that needs to tighten the waist even a little bit, this isn’t the pant for them. The tiny square Velcro piece is on the end of both elastic waist straps. In theory you are supposed to be able to pull the straps and stick it down to the Velcro strip on the pants, cinching the waist tighter. The design flaw is that you can’t extend the strap farther than the strip on the pants, so in essence, it can’t be tightened at all. The tightest it can go is laying flat on the sides. It’s basically an unnecessary added design with no function. If they made the entire elastic straps of Velcro you could actually pull it farther and stick it down, making the waist tighter.Other than the adjustable waist, these pants are thick, sturdy, and perfect for snow and cold weather. If there was wiggle room for the waist/fit I’d have given it 5 stars.

Fits well, good value
This is my second year with these pants and I just ordered the next size up for next year. I purchased size XS for my 7-year old son last year, and they fit perfectly. This year he was able to wear them again although they were a bit tight in the waist and the rise was a bit short. He is currently 51″ tall and 65 lbs (XS barely fit, small fits better but is a tad long). Thankfully the elastic waist straps gave him a little extra room. He wears an 8 in Carters, Small in Nike and under Armour. These stood up to sledding for about 3 hours which included sitting on a sled covered in water. He has also worn them to ski lessons (lots of falling and he stayed dry). The Columbia pants are more flexible but these perform and fit just as well for a much lower price. We usually get 2 days of snow/ice in the PNW so this price point is reasonable for minimal use. I purchased the adult version and even though they are a bit bulky and stiff, they fit and perform well.

Good quality for lrice
Fit is good and the adjustable waist straps are nice to give a snug waist fit. The durability holds up for about year based on past experience. They are warm but not too warm that they get hot and sweaty.

Great quality!
My daughter loves them! The color is fun and girly and the price is phenomenal. I was expecting cheap quality for this price, but that’s not the case. They run a little smaller than expected in the waist, but are perfect otherwise!

Waterproof, but should’ve gotten one with suspenders.
These pants work well in the snow and our waterproof. But in the future, we will purchase bibs or snow pants with suspenders, because these slide down too often.

Warm and waterproof, but low rise when you sit
These pants go so low in the back when you sit, snow just falls down them. I would. Or suggest them for skiers or snowboarders.

Didn’t last long
I bought these in February for the cold, North Dakota winter after my son’s other pants had a hole. I was thinking he could use them more than one season. At first glance, they seemed durable, and had reinforced knees. The pattern was very nice, and I was very happy with the colors; it would go well with different colored coats. My son fits size 6 clothing and the size small that I ordered was perfect for him. The pants were warm enough (and waterproof) for him in the 20 degree weather they allow kids outside for. Our winters do get down to -40⁰F at times, but we obviously don’t send kids to play in that.Unfortunately, after only 2.5 months of outdoor recess and occasional outdoor play at home, there is a hole in the knee, so I don’t think these will last another season. I’m disappointed, as I really thought they would last longer than a couple months.I should add that my son is very active, but I think that’s pretty normal for a 6 year old. If you don’t have insanely long winters lasting 6-7 months, these might be the pants for you.

Comfy!
Bought this in the summer for my daughter for this coming winter since the deal was too good to pass up. The color is very pretty and my daughter says it’s comfortable. I bought it in a bigger size but it does have adjustable straps, still too large for my daughter at this time, but will be ready for her in a couple of months. The quality is better than I expected and will definitely keep her warm on a snowy day.

Run a little large but do the job
My daughter likes white, these were super affordable, and they worked well for us – so I would recommend. The velcro straps at the waist are adjustable and so they allowed us to cinch the belt area inasmuch as we could. My daughter said she was concerned her pants would fall off but they survived our snow adventure without issue. She’s a 9 year old who usually fits mediums just fine (e.g. Target’s Cat & Jack brand) and we found the leg length was good, especially with boots, but the waist area was a little large, which I will allow her to grow into them. Just be aware that if your child is a little more petite like mine, the pants run the risk of being a little large around the waist.

Really nice
I ordered two pair for my son, one slightly big for this year (and hopefully next) and another pair in a size up. My son is typically in an 8. He is short and skinny. I got the 10/12 for this season. They are a little big but just enough I feel we can get two years. They aren’t bulky but are roomy. He pulled them on over a pair of khaki uniform type shorts with ease. The pants are reinforced and seem really sturdy. We rarely get snow where we live but do get unpleasant temps in winter. These are perfect for a wild child who loves to play outside. I will be ordering a pair (or two) in the men’s sizing for my older son.

Good snow pants
My child wears a medium (8) in cat and Jack and is tall and lean. I ordered a size small and it fit fine with a little bit of room to grow in the waist. However, I just needed these for frigid days when there might be a possibility of playing in the snow. Comfort-wise, my child chose the Jan and Jul pants. Those went higher on the waist and weren’t as bulky.

Great snow pants but gave only 4 stars because they definitely run small so size up I couldn’t get mine over my hips and it’s my usual size. Going to order another pair a size bigger hopefully it works out because the color is so nice!

Waterproofing is excellent
These are a good pair of snow pants. I bought them for my son who is really hard on clothes and growing fast. I’m writing this review after one full year of skiing in them as well as sledding, snow hiking, snow adventures. He’s climbed in them, taken falls, skied black diamonds, and used them hard.Pros:*excellent water proofing*The reinforcement on the knees and ankles makes a big difference in durability. I feel like the durability is really good for these.*the orange color I love for how it makes it easier to find him on the slopes.Cons:*The orange color does pick up stains pretty easy and I’m not going to work to wash them out for fear or messing up the waterproofing.*There is no zipper at the ankle to make it possible to pull down easily over ski boots. While this is common of kids snow pants, my son is getting big enough that I feel it’s worth mentioning because this year with his feet being adult sized for the first time he could barely get these pulled over the outside.Good pair of pants and I would recommend. Four stars because of the staining and the ankles.

Seem to be good quality and well made
Giving 4 stars only because we haven’t hit the slopes yet so not the pants fault that we truly haven’t tested them. Bought these for my 16 yr old daughter for our upcoming ski trip. Fight her great but not over sized at all. If you want plenty of room I recommend jumping up a size. Height is 5’1” waist is 26 inches and hips 34 and bought a large in red. She can squat and move but she is also used to the jegging type jeans that stretch and fit tighter. Large is not quite as tight as jegging jeans as she can move squat, bend over and touch her toes with no problems. If you don’t like snug fitting bottoms jump up a size. We also purchased the xl as a second pair in lime green ( to compare sizes being a mom) and she has plentyyyyy of room in them. Thank goodness for belt loops and Velcro straps. She has to pull the Velcro waist straps as far in as she can on xl and still has some room. Plenty long on both pair. Large will be perfect with snow boots. Xl is a bit longer and drag a bit more but not to much to return as they will be fine once the snow boots are on. Seems to be great quality and she is not worried at all about getting cold as they seem to be well lined and warm. The extra padding on the rear end and knees are going to be a big plus, I think, once she hits the slopes and falls and scrawl for her skis.. lol. Excited to test them out on the slopes. Hope this helps.

Sizing matter thanks to the reviews
My daughter was in need of a snowsuit/pants for snow days at school. I never like buying these things because to me it’s just one more extra thing she has to keep up with at school. My daughter is 8 and is now wearing 10/12 in pants so I ordered her exact size (regular M)10/12 and I feel like I hit the jackpot. Lol they’re the perfect fit, on the picture she has them over sweat pants. Thanks to the reviews, I suggest you order your child exact size to be on the safe side. My first order was a small since others said they fit big or size down but I went with my gut and got her exact size and it was a true fit. Ik a small wouldn’t fit her being that others reviews children that were 5 or 6 were in a S. I think I should’ve gotten a large so she could get at least 2 winters out of these since the quality of these snow pants are so nice. I’ll put them up for my son if she outgrows but pretty great buy. Serves it purpose for snow days at school so I’m a satisfied buyer.UPDATE: it is now December 2021 my daughter is now 10, and I’m back to order again. Turns out my daughter did get 2 years out of these 3rd and 4th grade. She obviously outgrown them and I’ll be getting an L this time but they are still in such great shape that I put them up for my son who is now 4 which I’ll be ordering an xs for him for now. But great purchase and getting my money’s worth even years down the road!

Don’t fit over ski boot buckles
I got these for my daughter who downhill ski races. She loved the color because it makes her stand out on the hill and she’s easier to spot in the crowd. Took them out for her first trips down the slopes and discovered that the gaiters on the inside of the pants legs (the thinner fabric elastic bound bit) don’t have enough give to pull over the top of her ski boot like we’re used to with other brands of ski pants. She still likes the pants and will bring them to school to keep in her locker for recess, but be ware if you’re looking to use them for downhill skiing. They are likely fine for going over a regular snow boot for outside play, but with the added space needed for ski boot buckles, it just wasn’t going to work.
