Not recommended for heavier phones.
This is a nice cradle, but it’s not recommended if you have a heavy phone on a heavy case. I have an iPhone 8 plus on an Otterbox defender case, and the cradle’s base became unstuck from my dash due to the phone’s weight after just 3 weeks.Got an iOttie cradle with a suction cup instead.

Nice to be able to monitor those things while driving …
I mounted this to the dash in my company van. It’s a Ford Transit Connect. I’m a network technician for a school system. I have a device monitoring program that lets me know when things are down on the network. Nice to be able to monitor those things while driving around the county. I use this with an iPhone 6 Plus.

Inexpensive semi-permanent mount
I was looking for a mount with screw for mounting and a bottom support and this fit the bill perfectly. This was mounted to a riding mower to give me a spot to store my phone and it has held securely with no evidence that the phone will shake loose.

Solid Mount
I bought this to mount onto an exercise bike. The primary reason was that it has a base that accepts screws, rather than a suction cup. It mounted as expected, and feels strong and durable. We have been using it for several weeks, and couldn’t be happier with it.

Good on boats.
Bought it for my boat. When underway I can’t hear or see my cellphone as it was in a rack holder out of the way. I both taped and screwed it down this holder near the GPS problem solved. It holds the phone tight and secure. Good item that’s easy to install.

Mixed review
I had high hopes for this based on other reviews. Assembling was easy but the up and down angle was too lose so I tightened the screw at which point the plastic casing broke around the screw and the whole hinge shattered and fell apart.I like the concept of the small footprint. My windshield is very far away in my Nissan Sentra. I need something to mount my iphone so that I can see the small screen. I also did not like that this is not on a rotating ball joint. It only tilts up and down which will not work for me. I need the screen angled towards the driver seat from the center console.I reported the problem, received an immediate refund, ordered a different model and it arrived the next day. As a replacement I ordered the Arkon SM410 Universal Windshield with Dashboard and Vent Mount for Smartphones and PDAs – Mount – Bulk Packaging – Black […]I am very happy with this product.

Snaps off every 3 months
It works great. It really does. It’s perfect for what I do. It holds the phone well and releases well. But…. this is the 2nd one I got, and this one, like the first one, snapped off just above the screw. The first one lasted 3 months, and so did the 2nd one. Weak spot? Perhaps. Oh well. I’ll find another.

holds phone securely, decent quality
reviews these in 6 vehicles for the last three years. They hold the phones very securely and are easy to release. We haven’t had any break from use, but we’ve broken three from getting bumped hard. these are the best ones we’ve found.

The best phone holder I have used so far, out of 6
So far, this has been the best phone holder I have had. It holds securely and is adjustable to allow regular use, and in my case, it can adjust so that the camera looks out the windshield if you need to document something going on in front of you. It is held by adhesive and screws. I did not even try the adhesive as I did not mind putting a few holes in my dash once I was able to play with it a bit and realized it could hold not just my current phone, but most likely any phone I get in the future. So I made it permanent to avoid having it fall off. I havent seen an adhesive hold anything in any car after a summer of 110+ heat.This is a product update 2017:This still works the best, holds the phone snugly and has not failed in any way. However, remember it is the only unit I have tried where I put screws into the dash. So it is permanent unless I lave a few holes showing.I have tried 5 other cell phone holders, mostly the type that latch onto vents. They all fail or fall apart or break.

Perfect and exactly what I was looking for
Very simple and easy to use, very happy with this cradle. Use it in my semi truck and the phone stays put. Update, less than a year a part of it broke and I emailed the company the information they wanted for the warranty. Within a week they had sent me a replacement part out, excellent customer service.

Highly functional but didn’t last.
As a mobile service technician I spend countless hours in my van driving around town, I use maps a LOT and like to have my phone up pretty much any time I’m driving.I mounted this with screws and oriented it ‘sideways’ so my phone would be in landscape as I prefer maps this way.After 4 months the plastic around the main pivot began to crack and about 2 weeks after it began it failed entirely. It broke on the top portion of the hinge which is where more pressure would be applied due to the mount being sideways. I really enjoyed the rigid mounting of my phone and how positive of a grab it had, but I think you’re best off using this mount vertically.

Great holder and no magnets or cup holders needed
Does a great job of holding my phone without the need to fill up a cup holder or put a magnet on the back of my phone case. Just plop the phone onto the stand and squeeze it shut and the phone is secured.You will need about a square inch of flat dashboard space to stick this to so make sure you have that. It contorts in many different directions to help it face the driver properly. Nice product.

The gears that make this product adjustable are somewhat flimsy and are made from plastic, so i worry about the longevity of this product. Overall this product works well. I permanently drilled this product onto my dash board. I have tried other car phone holders and this one is the best one so far. For the price you can’t go wrong with this product. This product can be adjusted in many angles which is great.Update: The adjustable mechanism finally broke after about 1 year. I did use it a lot in that year. I would still probably purchase this item again though.

Good item for a good price
Like the other reviewer mentioned, it rattles when the clamps are expanded without a device inside but if you close them (i.e. squeeze them shut) the rattling goes away. Other than that, it works perfectly. The screws that it came with were rather long, so I decided to use some shorter ones that I had and it works great as a permanent mount. Now I don’t have to toss my iPhone aside when I’m in the car. I can have it nicely mounted while driving. Very happy!

I first want to say that I do not work for or have any relations with anyone who works for the maker of this great product!!The first smartphone holder that I bought was a cd slot mount holder from iPow.that one did not last me a year at every bump the phone would shift,and I would have to adjust my iPhone.This arkon iPhone adhesive smartphone Holder is the bomb!! I can’t believe how well this smartphone holder works,and easy install just make sure you clean the surface with alcohol wipe this is well worth the money I paid.It also comes with screws if you want to mount it that way.

So far, so good!
Stuck this on the dash of my Escalade. I didn’t want to damage the dash…so far the adhesive has held just fine. Holds my iPhone 6 with a case…and with a ThinOptics glasses case stuck on the back of the case…securely. Easy to remove the phone just by pushing the button on the side of the holder. I use my phone for navigation rather than the nav built into the vehicle. I was able to mount this up pretty high…about even with the radio screen…so it’s very convenient.

Best adhesive/screw mount holder ever!
Installed this on my Polaris sxs and after many rides this thing held my huge Samsung S21 Ultra with no problem through the trails.I’ve owned many of this type of screw/adhesive mount style. This one is the best yet. Solid build and comes with everything you need.

Excelent Product!
I screwed my dock to the face of my dash and it has by far surpassed any dock that I’ve ever had for either the droid or the iphone(including vent mounted and suction cup units). It does rattle when the phone is not in the dock and the dock is wide open, so if you close the dock ends, the rattle goes away and thus no problem. Nothing rattles when the phone is in the unit and the ends are closed. The unit does not move when driving or turning and has multiple joints to give you the ability to position your phone any way you like (upright or lanscape). I am a mechanic/”do it yourselfer” and I am very impressed with this product!

Works as advertised
Works as advertised. Arrived quickly. Easy to install & worked with existing mount surface I had from ProClip. Holds my Droid securely and solves problem of finding a dock that works with a skin. Design allows access to power button, charging port, audio jack & volume rocker. Can rotate mount to view in landscape mode. Drawbacks: No access to slide keyboard, rattles when phone not installed. Would rate it a 5 if not for the rattle. No magnet for car mode.

A mount I can trust
Tired of suction cups, vent clips, magnets, sticky stuff that doesn’t stick? SCREW IT- literally, screw it to the dashboard. This is a sturdy, no-rattle mount. If you’ve got a good blank spot on a dashboard, and don’t mind doing a little drilling, this is the best way to KEEP a phone on that dashboard.

Good mount but with the recent doubling of price I will no longer buy it
Good mount so far I bought many of those for my passenger vans to install by every seat. AS i get more vans I buy them, but from my last purchase they were about $10-$11 a piece not the price doubled so I will no longer buy them. Slap in the face with a doubling the price. The good thing about free market is that there is always someone else making a new and just as good. Bye bye greed sir or mam

Works Great with iPhone 11 Pro MAX
I had just purchased the iPhone 11 Pro Max phone along with the OtterBox SYMMETRY Clear case and was looking for a new car holder for my 2013 Honda Accord. I had previously had a car holder that used magnets and while it worked well I didn’t want to put a piece of metal in the clear case. It took me a while to find a car holder that had an option of being held on with 3M Tape vs a dash or window suction (which I’m not a fan of).I was a bit worried because the description of this car holder has not been updated in years (iPhone 6, 7 & 8???) but I took a chance as it seemed fairly generic to whatever phone it would hold. I’m glad I did as it works great!I’m slightly concerned about durability as you have to push a side button to release it that makes a loud click, I’ll update in a few months, but have not reason to believe it won’t hold up well.I think they would sell a lot more of these if they just updated the title.

They’re pretty good!
Love these mounts. I have one in my semi truck and my Trailblazer. I use the adhesive and also the screws provided just to make sure. Could be more durable though. The base will crack if it’s subject to a lot of rough roads and cold weather. I keep and extra one just in case in my Kenworth.

Good Product
This is built pretty well and seems to be designed pretty well. I mounted it on the dash of my pontoon boat. I gave it four stars because of the function of the push button. It flies open and makes a pretty loud clunking sound. It doesn’t really bother me but I think it will wear out quickly because of the way it is designed. I would buy it again because it is worth the price if it will last at least a couple of years.

Works fine.
Installed easily, I used the tape and the screws and it holds to the dash board of my work truck just fine. Holds my Droid MAXX (in an Otter Box case) secure even on bumpy roads; doesn’t interfere with any buttons. You simply set the phone into the mount and squeeze the two ratcheting side-clamps closed to grip the phone between them. The sponges on the inner side of the clamps hold the phone in place. The only thing I would change about it is to make the sponges a little thicker, the thin sponges don’t have a lot of ‘give’ to them so you have to squeeze pretty hard to get the ratchet to its tightest position.

Great product. Can withstand rough rocky trails
I got this for my boyfriend for his off reading RZR. He bolted the mount onto the dash of the rzr. Where we go is very bumpy and rough. The mount holds up just find and has given us no problems at all. He has had it for a few months now and he loves it. We have used it a handful of times and it stays in the same place every time.

Keeps my van clutter free
Managing my service van clutter is a hassle. I want to have a place for everything. This phone holder keeps one of my phones out of the cup holder and easily viewable. It sticks to the top of my dash great even though it has small bumps in the plastic. The holder holds the phone in place and does not bounce around. A charger is easily inserted into the bottom of the phone in the holder. If I get a phone call, one press of a button and my phone pops out easily for me to answer it. I did not use the screws and I dont think I need to. Will definitely be ordering another one for my second phone to go up on my dash.

Just what I needed
I got this unit because I wanted a permanent dash mount and short extension. This filled the bill perfectly. The fit, form and finish on this item is professional and without flaw. All the joints are tight, the plastic is sturdy without being brittle, and the mechanism is solid and secures my Samsung S7 positively. The location of the release trigger is ergonomically appropriate, and retention locks right up tight and secure. If you want/need a solid, lower profile dash mount and don’t mind making holes in the dash, this is the one. The adhesive helped with mounting, but not necessary if using the screws once they are in.

Installed on my boat’s dash, very secure.
I bought this to hold my iPhone on my dash of a 17.5′ Crestliner fishing boat. Holds my phone very securely with access for charging and headphones and all the iPhone buttons. I installed it using the screws and not the adhesive. I need a screwdriver to adjust the angle since I tightened it down good to keep it secure when bouncing over waves. Overall I would say that the construction and durability is good but not great being that it is all plastic. I would recommend this to a friend.

It was amazing, until it wasn’t.
I loved this holder. Received January 29, installed at some point the following week (I installed it while waiting at a shipper, don’t remember the exact day). This morning, May 27, catastrophic failure. Photos of failure area attached.I will probably order another one, just because it was exactly what I wanted, wasn’t horribly expensive, and I think I can use the same mount and just swap out the actual holder.

Arkon multi angle mount.
I am very happy with the item that I purchased,it served its purpose very well. as a truck driver I use my phone’s GPS to locate my destination,the Arkon multi angle mount made that very easy. By adding a second double stick tape for mounting would make it more convenient for relocation so I don’t have to drill three screws in my dashboard.

The adhesive works
I have had it about 2 weeks using just the adhesive and it has worked great so far. It has a pretty good range of adjustments, and holds the phone in either vertical or horizontal position. If it ever does fall off, I know I can always use the screws to secure it – unlike the ones with suction cups that just stop working after a time. I will update the review if it ever falls off.

Crummy

Loud and insecure
I am very fond of the other Arkon products (I have two iPad arms with associated mounts, as well as a phone mount at the boat’s helm station and an iPad mount over the galley), but this one is not so good. I mounted it on the “console” over the head of my bed, and the phone can fall out easily unless it’s squeezed very hard right at the top to get that last click. It does not hold securely at all, and is a very loud (both the ratcheting of closure and the snap to open with the button). It finally broke today (my fault… whacked it) and I’m actually glad… off to find something else that won’t drop the phone on my head or wake the guests.

Great mount
I was a little apprehensive about this at first but once I got and and started to use it I love it. I chose this because I wanted to bolt it to my dash. I have had may others and aside from bolting it on they just melt off after a few months in the Texas summers. It holds my phone securely and releases easy. I was rear ended with this and it still held my phone in. Decent quality and a great price.

Does the job I want it to do
Aside from a little rattle when empty and fully open, I’m pleased with the functionality and ease of use for this product. The slight rattle is easily abated by clicking the sides in one or two notches when the phone is not in the cradle. Nice product for the money and works very well with phones that are in cases.
