good basher
drove it on dirt grass and pavement, handled nicely. idk if i like the center diff but i can always lock it. crashed it a bunch but its still running fine. keep in mind that this is only around 3 batteries in, as in pairs. ran it on 4s and 6s, an i honestly prefer 4s because its much easier to control and still rips. will update the review in about a week.update: i left it outside overnight while it was wet and (of course) it rusted. luckily it not only came with the tools i didn’t have, it is also very serviceable, even for a novice like me. arrma also has an exploded view of the car on their website, showing what goes where, and even integrated hyperlinks showing where to buy each displayed part. some couple hours of removing rust and reassembling, i was able to rebuild the entire car without so much as a hitch. 10/10 car and 11/10 repairability.

Hard to keep it on 4 wheels
This is my second Arrma Rc. The Typhon 6s was on sale before Christmas so I had to take advantage. I’ve only taken it out once before the winter set in but my first impression is: FAST! I was running it on fairly rough terrain and it just seems to want to keep flipping over. For being a buggy and a fairly wide wheel base it sure flips a lot. I tend to stick toward the short course trucks and I have a pretty good handle on tracks. The Typhon is a serious buggy that will take some practice getting used to. I’ll definitely be tuning the suspension. Likely some heavier weight shock oil and maybe different springs. Comes out of the box extremely soft. Seems to be a solid car. Honestly wish I would have just bought the 3s version. If your looking for a fast and hard to control buggy, this is for you. I would not recommend this for entry level RC’r.

Love this Typhon
So…. not quite as durable as advertised. I broke a shock mount screw on the first day I took this out to the track, but not to big of an issue as parts are very easy to find even given the fact that almost every part for this car is on back order everywhere. I installed the Arrma front bumper before taking this out a second time and this seemed to help tremendously. I enjoy this car every time I take it out on 4s or 6s. The largest downfall about this RC car is all of the spectrum internals. Spectrum provides you with literally no information on any of their components making it hard to know what you have and what you want to upgrade given there is nothing to compare.

ITS FUN and FAST
This car is very fast and very fun. This is my first RC car so could be better cars, but this one IMO is really cool, and fastttttt. Only bad thing I would say is that it doesn’t come “RTR” unless you purchase a battery to. Ready to run in my eyes means the car would come with a battery and a charger and it doesn’t. That’s what I get for not reading everything though.I would recommend getting this, but with already 500 price tag you are going to need about 150-300+ to buy charger and battery pack for all the newbies like myself out there that don’t really read past pictures lol. It’s very fun though. I love it.UPDATE: Had some problems with this car. The car had some response issues from the start, then stopped responding altogether. I sent a support email on June 1st and got a response June 27th…… So just so everyone knows about this “great customer support” people say they have. You’ll have to wait. Thanks to Amazon though car was replaced on the 18th. Love Amazon!

take a look
could have been the best purchase if two different details were the same my 300$ nitro car vs this one durability wise this one lost look at photos my nitro frame has metal bearing cups this car does not and is a defect the manufacture needs to update as part of their warranty policy from plastic to metal, i will be contacting manufacture directly to gather a positive response to this problem other than that the car performed great on a mini track

Caught this on sale here for $400. Fantastic value at that price. Fast buggy, even on 4S batteries with the throttle limited to 50%. Very happy with this purchase.

Fast and durable just get better tires
Great product only problem with it is the stock tires . I blew a tire out after 5 runs running 6s on stock pinion gear only going about 55 mph tire blew out . I would buy a different pair of tires just to be sure. You don’t want to be driving and blow a tire and have no replacement 😒 there are other reviews about this issue and the tires that are the best for them.

Caught it on sale for 420 . Seems to be a great rig. Easy to upgrade. Jumps further than my trucks. Turning it into a speed run rig on 8s with Hoons and DeltaPlastik body. We’ll see how it goes

It does not surprise me, the quality of the product is not at all, it is maneuverable, and very fast, it has a good signal range, it has no battery, no charger so it depends on you how long you want to use it depending on the battery capacity you use. ! highly recommend … lots of fun time guaranteed

It’s a BEAST
This thing is an absolute beast. Would recommend this for experienced rc drivers only. Crazy powerful for the size/weight. Definitely need spare tires for this one!! Spektrum Firma electronics are much better than the old Arrma ones. New SLT3 radio is a dream compared to arrmas old STX2 pos💩Super easy to work on. Simple 4 screw removal to access the center diff (definitely needs thicker diff oil). Highly recommend this buggy. Arrma hit a home run with this one

Tough as nails, fast as a cheetah and sexy!! That what the Armma Typhon is. Jumps and dirt and rocks and water. No problem. Slapped some street tires on it and it became a super road basher.Amazing! Durability is a big plus as this is easy to jump high and will sometimes come down HARD!

Best hard pack, low grass buggy out. 6S is a beast, more than anyone needs. Buy tires, you’re gonna drive these SOB’s right off it. I have a lot of RC and the Typhon consistently outperforms most, if not all of my other cars. Mine is always in the fun bag when we go out.

worth the money.
1 hour ( which Is how long I ran it the first time using it on 1 6s lipo 5200mah bat) I flipped it and crashed it a dozen times, jumped a lot, and did power slides, and it is still solid with a few scrapes. Super fun and worth the money.

Fast out the box
Love the speed demon, hate the weight for jumping, love the metal gears, it rips but doesn’t lift off the front , hate the tiny tires for a regular dirt rc track we use it at because landing is rough on the buggy. And remote is actually not too bad once you set the throttles f>r>n.

This thing is bad a$$ fast. So far very durable and very fast. Handles well too. Not doing any heavy bashing with it, so I’m not pushing its durability, but I’m happy with this so far as fun all around buggy. 🙂 I recommend it for sure.

1st was dead out of the box, The new one hit a bump on the street about ½” tall and bent the frame.
Had 2 of them 1st was dead out of the box, bad speed control I contacted Amazon and they gave me a new one, 2nd hit a bump on the pavement ½” tall and bent the frame. I don’t like the ground clearance it can’t handle driving on pavement with shifts from winter to summer where my kraton can, I didn’t even get a chance to take it to the dirt track. The remote is great for the kraton! Same as this.

Fast but bad design
Update I just got a message from horizon hobbies about my seller feedback. They flagged it and said it was not from an experience I had purchasing from Amazon which is untruthful ( all my arrma products are from amazon) this is a shady business practice. Be careful.I’d say this is tougher than the 3s version. But still fragile and too fast for tires provided, can’t get traction on anything. Will be returning because of strange noises on start up. Not the quality I expect from a 500+ dollar item.

This is my first ever RC car and what a great purchase. Got a great deal from Amazon. Car arrived in perfect condition and had to go get batteries and charger for it. Went to my local hobby shop and got the necessary equipment. The local shop was very helpful and walked me through the lipo batteries and safety charging them. Very serious batteries. Once I got the car ready I was blown away how ,fast durable and overall fun it was. It keep the car at 50% power and it’s more than enough. My only negative is the tires I live in Las Vegas and the tires disintegrated from the heat from the pavement and the overall power. I bought some belted tires and it has helped.

Fast and durable!
This lil buggy is a rocket on 6s and it’s still fast even on 3s, I’ve given this car quite a few full sends and it took it and begged for more, kind of like how a happy puppy runs after a ball and comes back all hyped up and excited for more! But be careful the happy lil Typhon loves to chew up tires just like a happy pupperino chews on shoes.. Before running make sure wheel nuts are oriented correctly and TIGHT since they tend to loosen up and make a run for it (I would too) make sure all the bolts fastened to metal are tight and have thread lock compound on them. I really hope you buy one, you will NOT regret it! Use high quality batteries and let er BUCK!!!

Proven Platform for Bashing and Speed Runs
I already have an Infraction and wanted something more bash-proof. This platform allows many options depending on your focus. I’ve run 3S, 4S, and 6S without any issue on stock gearing. Next step is speed runs 🙂 Search YT and you’ll see. BTW, the TLR version is nice but I get the same performance for a whole lot less $$.

Doesn’t work after 7 days of owning. (Update) seller steps up and saves
So at first I thought this thing was great and durable. But I have only had it for 7 days. And only used it 5 times. And now it does nothing. Tried 3 different batteries in it. It turns on when you hit the power button. But then continues to turn off and on on its own. Doesn’t drive or stear. The fan on the speed control is the only thing that works. Paid a lot of money for this to just quit like that so soon.Update 12/9/21 so the car is a beast. The seller fixed the issue and the only problem I have had since is tires. It will literally blow them apart. I’ve gone through 16 sets. Yes a lot of them were the cheaper ones to try out. But it even will blow apart the belted tires. It has so much power. It will literally jump a house or a bus. It takes a beating and just keeps going. Updated its January 18. Still having trouble contacting horizon for any repairs. But the seller has stepped in and is sending an upgrade servo for a car they don’t even service. I would give 2 extra starts and will definitely do business with rapid wheelhouse again in the future. There customer service makes up for the headache with this problem for sure.

Great buggy, VAST issues
Overall the Typhon is a great buggy which can be converted to a “truggy” or street dragster. The platform leaves alot for imagination and I’ve owned the 3S for years and it’s honestly one of my favorite rc’s, even more than $1k X-Maxx. So the buggy itself is a great rc, mine, not so much so. Right out of the box the rubber boots around the shocks were torn up and shock oil was all over the front end. Front shocks need to be totally rebuilt, they currently have ZERO rebound/dampening, only the springs. Opened it up and the center diff was totally soaked, I thought it may have been shock fluid. Nope, the center diff is leaking and covered the entire chassis in whichever viscosity fluid they used. Removed ALL the diffs to check the shimming and fluids, they were basically ALL fookd and need to be rebuilt with much lighter fluid. Overall, I’m seriously disappointed that I bought an rc online instead of going to my local shop like usual. There they would’ve let me test drive it, see it, hold it, if know immediately if there were any issues. But I got lazy and chose to buy directly from Armma since they’re typically so bulletproof (I own the Kraton 8 and 6S, Big Rock V3, Typhon 3S, Armma Limitless and just got this Typhon 6S). Now bear in mind, I haven’t put a single inch of rubber down yet, this is all just from visual inspection and experience. But I’m in the process of rebuilding all the diffs, actually ordered a new center diff because I couldn’t isolate the leaking. I’m rebuilding ALL the shocks because the boots were torn, loose caps which leaked and basically built/setup terribly. I’m a HUGE Armma fan, I love their products and have spent thousands on their rc’s and aftermarket items. So to get this Typhon 6S in this bad of shape right out of the box reinforced my resolve to never buy full RC Trucks online. Because you’ve sent me a totally busted buggy but thankfully I have the knowledge and resources to fix and set it up correctly. I pity the poor kid who spends his hard earned money and gets something this busted up and doesn’t have the experience or money to make the necessary repairs. I’m just thoroughly disappointed with Armma at the moment and since I’m already fixing the dam thing myself there’s nothing they can do for me. So a $500 buggy turned into a $1000 buggy for me just to get it running right. What’s up with the quality control at Armma, seriously?! I haven’t even gotten into the horrid shimming job they sent out and how bad it stripped up the gears. Think I’m gonna be going back to Traxxas for a while, this has really turned me off from Armma.UPDATE: servo died on the 3rd? run, just went full turn into a curb. At this point I’ve spent so much of my own money repairing this it doesn’t make any sense to refund this. SO FAR: New front shocks, 4 new shock boots (arrived torn up), new steering servo, Hot Racing steering hubs to reduce the extreme front end slop. As well as rebuilding all diffs with much lighter weight fluids. This was all before I got to even hit 1 jump or do a full speed run.ZERO assistance from their customer service, their attitude is of absolute indifference. Because of this single transaction I’m absolutely DONE with Armma. SO MANY options out there and your best bet is to build your own kit, I’d recommend the MT410, very easy to follow and a beast of an rc. WAY better than Armma. Plus their customer service is top notch, they actually listen to your problems and help resolve them. Armma has gotten a bit too big for their britches and they better be careful because if they were tuned into the zeitgeist they’d know their brand is kind of a joke now.

Break-leg speed!!!
It seems great for toolin around, particularly on 6s… I haven’t even swapped to larger pinion yet. A single 5000mah battery gave me pretty decent drive time as well. I wish it shipped with telemetry-capable receiver since the ESC otherwise seems like a smart-unit, but otherwise seems like a good package.

It’s fast but quality control sucks
First thing I noticed was it didn’t go more than 20 feet without stopping and found the antenna wire was hanging out of the box basically cut in half. Some screws were already out of the car and the center diff completely melted on the first run.
