Our Authentic Dual Layer Merino Wool thermals for men have been specifically engineered with ColdPruf technology that traps body heat between layers of fabric to provide a natural warmth shield. Our men’s thermal underwear offers the desired level of warmth and comfort in extremely cold weather conditions during low-to-mid-exertion activities. Nature’s warmest fiber, merino wool, is combined with combed ring spun cotton and nylon on the outside and paired with 100% combed ring spun cotton on the inside to provide maximum warmth and comfort. The ColdPruf Base Layer product line has been developed for comfort in all cold weather environments, whether at home, on the job, or enjoying the outdoors.

Warm and comfortable
I bought these for my husband and he loves them. They are warm, comfortable, not itchy and they wash up nice and keep their shape. He is 5’8” and weighs 135-140lbs. I bought a small and they fit fine.

decent
These are very warm but are very bulky! My husband is a 36/38 waist and 6’4.I bought the large tall and they are big on him. They fit more like pajamas than a baselayer.

sizing and value
This winter season, I’ve tried out about 3-4 different long john brands, and by far these made by the Indera/Coldpruf company have been the best for price/value. I’m about 6’1 with a 33 waist, slightly athletic, and for some reason most long john have good length but poor hip/waist measurement. For these, the length was a little big, but the waist size was almost perfect. And given the quality of materials, the price for me( about $35) was a STEAL. Try to find ANY long johns with a decent quality wool blend for less than $50, it’s not happening. I can highly recommend these for -10-0 degree Celsius weather.

Just Right
Got these base layer bottoms to replace a set of black, tight fitting synthetic ones.. These feel nice, and are true to size for me ( 2XL, 6’3″ 230 lbs.). I use them on cold mornings, under blue jeans while walking the dog every day. So far they work well, down to 30 degrees. I don’t yet know how they will do in the 20s. Easy to put on and take off, Good product.

Very warm for motorcycle riding
I used these when riding my motorcycle in temps from about 30 to 50 degrees F for about half an hour at a time. Before I had to bulk up with sweatpants under my jeans, and that’s why I got these. These are lightweight, but they do a better job than anything else I’ve tried. I’m very happy with purchase. I typically wear XL clothes, but I ordered L because I wanted them to be tighter rather than looser. The L fits me perfectly. The waste is very high, too, though. I typically wear my jeans lower on the waste (urban pipeline jeans fit me perfectly), so when I wear these at my typical height, there is quite a bit of extra baggage in the crotch. That’s a minor thing for me, though, an I’m very happy with these.

Almost worthless
Have previously purchased coldpruf underwear years ago. Quality was excellent. They are now somewhat wore out, due to repeated washings. Naturally, I ordered new ones, from coldpruf. Upon receiving, I was not impressed. Material is thin. Holding a layer up to a window, you can easily see the light through it. Put them on, with a good pair of jeans, and went for a walk on a relatively warm day. 10° above zero, 14° below zero windchill. My legs got cold almost immediately. Comparing the new ones, to my old washed out ones, the old ones are better. I have a pair of cheap, dollar store, cotton waffle-knit long John’s that are better. Summary-these are a great pair of winter long John’s… As long as you live in South Florida.

You get what you pay for – odd sizing
These thermal underwear seemed to be nice in the package. I gave them as a christmas present for an outdoor worker. When he put the shirt on, it was way too short and when he put the pants on they were so long in the waist that they could be pulled up over his chest. They might be warm enough but very uncomfortable to wear because of the odd sizing.

-30° in Chicago January 30-31
I had to take a brief moment to recommend this product along with the matching top. I purchased this base layer in preparation of the NHL Winter Classic on Jan 1st outdoors at Notre Dame Stadium. The temperature that day never fell below 30° so truthfully flannel lined jeans would have been suffice. Then came the Polar Vortex that crippled Chicago and surrounding areas. I work for the railroad and didn’t have any choice other then to be outside. The combination of the top/bottom and Minus 33° brand socks proved to be the base layer that was up to the challenge. I now fully certify these garments as “battle tested” for the few days Chicago was actually colder then Antarctica. Well done ColdPruf, well done.

AWESOME QUALITY & AWESOME VALUE
Finally found wool base layer bottoms that don’t fit like a small ladies spandex. Yes, base layers should be form fitting but so many brands make their ‘larger’ sizes so small or in Asian sizes. The larger sizes in these are appropriately sized for a Big Man. Also, the quality & price is unbeatable. Will be buying a couple more to have on hand before they’re no longer available.

Effective, efficient and easy care
Ye, these are more akin to the traditional ‘long john’ base layer in their styling/structure, which is exactly what I’m looking for: performance not fashion. This 50% cotton, 40% wool, 10% nylon blend is built for people who have to be outside in cold and inclement conditions, day in and day out. I wash them inside out in hot water and dry hot; their shrinkage is minimal, as is the pilling effect of the fabric. I have been wearing these now for two years, first in freezing Minnesota and now in the cold and damp of maritime Washington state; and I can’t recommend them enough. Reasonable price, high efficiency and easy care. Who could ask for more?

Excellent product but poor construction
I bought these as a gift to my husband who works outside all day year round. He absolutely loves them! So much so that I have to beg him to take them off for me to wash them. He liked the fit (I bought them a size smaller than his usual size after reading other reviews), but he really loved the feel and the warmth they offer. Our only complaint is that the inseam came apart in the crotch of one pair the very first time he wore them. It is so cold around here right now that he won’t allow me to send them back since he needs to be wearing them. We will be ordering more!

Itchy Wool
Some people may be able to tolerate the wool feeling on their skin but I can not. There are alternative materials that do a very good job of proving warmth and comfort. I have a pair of Cabelas Extended Cold Weather thermals which are quite warm and comfortable. They fit well too.

Highly recommended!
Here is a review from my boyfriend, the owner of the product:My girlfriend had a pair of these for many years and then handed them down to me. I wore them for years and like them so much I ordered a second pair of my own. I ride my bike to work and spend tons of time outdoors in All Seasons. They are incredibly warm and durable. They last forever through excessive washing and drying. Highly recommended!

Best product to date for the price!
I originally found these in a hunting store and was extremely pleased with the product. When you first touch these it doesn’t feel thick enough to keep you warm. How wrong. I wore these under my duty pants throughout the winter, standing outside for hours at a time moving traffic along. Between the cold temp and blistering wind my legs never became cold because of the spun cotton and merino wool. I wore these till it wore thin around the legs where the pants rubbed. Glad I found these here. I purchased 2 this time. Definitely worth the money if you are outside in the dead of winter overnight.

Too small for my britches!
I already own one pair of these in a medium size. I wanted a second pair because I live in Wisconsin and I love my first pair. So I ordered it in medium. What I recieved is definitely a large, despite what the label says. I don’t know, maybe these are factory seconds with misprints. Still warm, but you might want to order a size down.

Grandaddy fit with the warmth of an oven .
These fit like your grandpas thermals . They are baggie so if you are a fashion queen they may not be for you . I work nights outdoors and have used them in below 0 weather under flannel lined jeans and they do the job which is keep to me warm.

Great quality, reasonably priced heavyweight base layer
These seem too big out of the package, but they’re truly wool & shrink in the washer/dryer, so the final result is well-fitting base layer. This dual layer pants are extra-warm. They’re also a little thicker. If your outer pants are snug, they may be too tight with these underneath–just something that happens with multiple layers of clothes. My son & BF have these pants, as they work outside. They stay warm outside when it is -10F and being moderately active.

too bulky to use under jeans/trousers
For: ColdPruf Men’s Authentic Dual Wool Plus Base Layer BottomThe item is too bulky to use under your regular jeans/trousers. If I wanted to use this item, I would have to buy a bigger size in trousers. Too late to return the item as instructions say the item must be washed before use. I have no idea whether it will actually be comfortable in actual use as it does not allow me to wear any of my jeans when I put this on 🙁

Black ones fit great, blue fit horrible in same size
I ordered the black first time. They are as expected. Warm and fit well. Ordered more since I liked except in the blue in exact same size. Blue fit completely different (way too long and baggy, especially crotch area) so returning blue and ordering black again. Hopefully fit as well as first ones.

Droops down like a huge diaper
These keep my very warm as a base layer while power washing at night in sub 40F degrees. I still layer up but these help tremendously to help cut out the cold. I ordered the Large and they are too big but still fit enough to work so I am keeping them rather than returning and going a few cold night without. Legs were tight but the taint area is huge. Droops down like a huge diaper. Still warm

Durability or quality control appears to be weak
The two-layer design seems to be a good option for layers when you have loose clothing to go over the long underwear. I purchased a pair in Feb 2022, wore them twice, and now see a run starting in the outer layer of the fabric. The run is in the top of the shin area, not where wear and tear is expected, e.g., the seat. Not sure if it is my pair or an overall quality control issue. Reasonable price if you do not need all wool.

Comfortable in the right size. Haven’t done a real world test for warmth yet but feel like they will replace mid weight pair of bottoms they were bought to replace.

Gigantic sizing = disappointed me.
As other reviewers have noted, the sizing on these are absolutely ridiculous. I bought XL’S based on their sizing, and what i received could, no joke, fit 2 of me. Perhaps they mislabeled the 4XL’s as XL’S and decided to sell them anyways? If you are 6 ft and weigh 400 lbs. the XL is the one for you. So instead of a base layer for late night, cold weather bike commuting, I have a $20 pair of baggy-a$$ed pajamas. LOL.Quality of material seems fine, and they’ve kept me warm and comfy in bed at night. I may invite my wife to join me inside them if she’s ever cold at night as there’s plenty of room for two.Color is more of a sweatpants grey/blue than the dark blue in the picture. The prices of this company’s products are very attractive. But, unfortunately, the clothing is not.

jeans and coveralls and is good to go for winters outside in Iowa
This is the second pair of these that I have bought for my husband. They are true to size and he loves them. They are his thicker ones, not a base layer. He works construction and he wears these, jeans and coveralls and is good to go for winters outside in Iowa. He is a 32 waist and I got a medium, good sizing. They are soft on the inside, they don’t itch. I’m sure I’ll buy more for him and my two teenage sons.

Not your son’s synthetics.
Wool blend long john bottom that is neither too loose or too long in my normal xl size. My measurements are 5’11” at 198 lbs. I find that this bottom is warmer than synthetic garments that I usually wear. Found no shrinkage after initial cold water wash, line dry.

Way too big!
I ordered these for my partner as a baselayer for a trip to Iceland. I looked carefully at reviews and the chart before ordering him and XL, which is his usually size. However, these were HUGE on him. They were completely baggy and came up to just below his chest. We had to send them back and didn’t have time before our trip to order another pair. The material seemed nice and like they would be warm.

Not too bad though, I would buy another pair if needed
It was warm as long as I was moving around in them, my legs did start to get a bit cold after sitting for a few hours in the Michigan winter. Not too bad though, I would buy another pair if needed, but I haven’t so far, they seem to wash well too, no shrinking or pilling.

I was looking for a natural material base layer and most start around 50$ and then I found these. A bend of cotton and wool, then are really comfy and make a big difference on those cold days. They have held up well in the wash with little shrinking. I would probably get them in a darker color than the creme ones just from a stylistic perspective. Would buy more.

great fabric blend
I got these as well as the long-sleeve top and they are great. The blend of wool and cotton is perfect! This makes the product warmer overall and also retains more warmth if and when it gets damp or wet although it doesn’t significantly affect the drying time. Also, you can wear these a little longer before they smell 😉 Thanks for another great product.

I wanted something like the old duo-fold underwear that I loved. The new duo-fold is not the same as the old stuff. I don’t like the feel of the various types of polyester underwear. If you want the comfort of cotton and warmth of wool, this is your underwear. I use it for ice fishing. Works great.

this is an excellent replacement for the 50/50 cotton/wool long johns the army gave me in the late 80s- but for some strange reason they are starting to fall apart. This has the same yellow-white color, feel & warmth. I have needed this this winter. Hope they last as long…

Thin / cheap material
I was hoping for a good set of work pants, but the trouser fabric is extremely light weight. These are NOT hard use pants. The “fleece” inside the pants feels like a lightweight cotton sheet and provide very little warmth; no way the linings don’t get tattered with time.My fault for trying to cheap out on paying for quality; these trousers are going back so I can buy decent work pants.
