Fun toy to bring on the airplane.
I purchased this to bring along on a trip with my 2 year old and hoped to keep him entertained on the airplane. He had fun with it and learned how to “erase” what he drew very quickly. As soon as I opened it, the magnet shapes fell on the floor, so I just put those away quite quickly. Other than that it’s a cute toy, and I like that there’s a string attached to the writing utensil. It’s also a nice size for traveling, very light, and fit nicely in my son’s little backpack.

Kids love it
I got this for my kids for a road trip and they loved it! It held up well my only complaint is the stamps don’t click into their spots very well and fall out easily.

Fun and colorful drawing with no mess for kids
I use to play with these all the time as a kid so when I saw them available in my suggestions I knew I had to get them for my nieces and nephew. My sister says it keeps the kids preoccupied while she drives

Good size for travel
Gave my two younger Grandkids these for our trip to Iceland, and they were kept busy on the long flight there and they continued playing with them on the entire trip and on the way back to the U.S. so these were good things for them to have and enjoy!

Great travel toy, just wish the stamps had a more secure fit as we were constantly having to find them in the car after they fell out.

We’ve had this toy for years and it’s held up fairly well. I got a new one for our youngest and I’m pleased with it! She loves it!

Decent for the price point
Maybe I have fond memories of the Magna Doodle as a child, but this sure doesn’t seem to be the quality it once was. The unit itself feels a little flimsy. While drawing, the “pen” tends to erase its own work. The drawing seems very light in color, and certainly is not what the promotional picture portrays. That being said, my daughter LOVES IT!!!! So I guess it’s a winner. 🙂

Great except for the small shapes
Good product for the money. It’s perfect for travel, but the small magnetic shape pieces fall out easily and sometimes get lost for periods of time. The rest of the board serves its purpose though.

Very poor quailty
We travel a lot and I purchased this to add to our travel goodies. We also have two mini magnadoodles that were purchased about 10 years ago when my older children were young. They have held up for a decade. This new one though is flimsy with cheap plastic. After only one day of use the plastic was already cracking. The magnetic fibers also do not adequately fill the honeycombs so the drawings do not look as nice as with the older model.

Cheaply made
Cheaply made. Not impressed. The little magnetic shapes can be easily misplaced or lost thus I would not travel with this. Missing or lost pieces equals crying kiddos. The shapes don’t come on the board. It doesn’t look like a shape. I do like how the drawing pen is attached to the drawing board.

These are great especially for the car
I have had two for a year now! I have a 3 & 5 yr old. We use them nearly every time we are in the car. These are great especially for the car! We tried crayons, washable markers, dry erase markers for traveling with kids. This is perfect. No mess, no papers, only problem is the 3yr old gets frustrated whenever we hit a bump, haha!I only removed the shapes because they are a choking hazard and fall in every small space. Nearly lost them. I wished they were attached by a string or something but understand they would get tangled. We use it every car ride and my 3 yr old Used it to learn to write letters. Highly recommend these for any age 2-10ish although we parents enjoy using them too.

Great for Travel
I bought this specifically for travel and it was perfect! It’s a really good size and it worked just like it needed to, well except for the stamps. I just ended up taking those and I put them in a bag while we were traveling. Other than that it’s a pretty cheap little magnetic drawing pad so I didn’t except too much from it. It gets the job done.

Great for the car
I got this Magna Doodle for my 3 year old daughter for when we go on the long trips in the car. It is very well made and has held up over the past 6 months of use. However we have lost the magnet stampers after only a couple weeks. They don’t stay in the slots very securely and have fallen out several times. The writing pen itself has held up great and is still attached to the main piece even after all my three year old has put it through. The writing surface also is great and hasn’t come attached from the main piece of plastic.

Fun, but not durable
My child was only 16 months when I bought this so I immediately threw away the magnets because they are ve rddy small and can be a choking hazard. This was a great toy that kept my toddler busy on a long international flight and also for some time at home, however, after only a couple of weeks it was already coming apart. It is made of cheap plastic that can become dangerous once it splits. I understand it’s not supposed to be abused but that’s what kids do to things. The bottom portion of the drawing pad is no longer usable (it will not erase) but for only $9 bucks it was worth it I guess, it served it’s purpose.

Travel Magna Doodle
This is just like the Magna Doodle I remember from my childhood but smaller and with magnets that are much easier to lose. While this is travel size, I think that the three little magnets should either be bigger or attached to a string. They were lost the first time my son used it. Unlike some other Magna Doodle-type toys we’ve come across, this one works pretty well. The “eraser” does the job with one swipe, and the size is pretty good for little toddler hands.

Good sized board for my toddler to be able to …
Good sized board for my toddler to be able to hold and use in the car on long rides. The eraser is a little hard for him to slide but my older daughter can operate it easily. I do NOT like the included three shape magnets. They are very small and are difficult to get back in to the slots for them on the side of the board. The shape magnets were lost almost immediately. Also compared to the larger and more expensive boards the design is light and fuzzy. I thought by purchasing the actual branded MagnaDoodle that I would get the best quality but I like the $2 generic board that I purchased at Dollar General better.

Wonderful product!
We have been using this toy since my son was 18 months old and now he’s 2 1/2. He has always loved it as a way to draw in the car, at church, at restaurants or just at home. It’s very portable and easy to fit in the diaper bag. I threw out the magnets since he’s so young. It comes apart a little bit but quickly snaps back into place. Great value!

Not great
We have the regular size and it is made much better. The shapes that come with this do not stay in their holes easily. They are still somewhere in the car, having fallen out early in the trip. The writing surface is small and our son got bored with this easily. I wouldn’t bother buying this.

Great toy for travel!
I bought this to keep my then 19 month old busy on the plain and she spent a good amount of time playing with it. Now that she’s 2 she loves it and uses it quite a bit. The size is actually perfect for smaller kids. A bit flimsy but ours hasn’t fallen apart so far. I put the stamps away because they’re too small and potential choking hazard. Just bought one as a gift.

This is a decently made product.
This is a decently made product. My kids love it. I would give it a 5 star if they could come up with a better way to keep the accessories attached. There are 3 small magnets in little holes on the side. They will not stay in those holes and they get lost all the time. Fixing that issue would make this a five star review.

Great buy
My 2 year old loves it. It is easily portable. The shapes are very small, about the size of a Fruit Loop. I let him play with them as long as I’m in the same room. He doesn’t not tend to mouth items but if your child does you may want to put the shapes away until they are older.

Absolutely perfect for my 16 month olds on a 4 hour car ride! They figured out how to use them very quickly, the pen stays attached and they could even figure out how to clear the board! I just had to take the stamps out for now because I was afraid they would put them in their mouths.

Awesome distraction.. I mean toy.
I had a Magna Doodle back in the 90s, and when I had to take my not quite 2 year old on a cross-country flight, it was the first thing I thought of to keep him entertained. It was incredibly effective, and he still loves to “color” on it, and I love not having a “coloring” mess!

Just okay
I love magna doodles, but this didn’t work great. The small pieces fell out easily and were quickly lost forever. There is glue on the screen that we just can’t get off so it really ruins the whole experience. It keeps my toddler entertained for a short period of time though so it’s not a total loss.

Like the classic MagnaDoodles of yesteryear, except lower quality
This is your standard, 1990s-esque mini magnadoodle. However, the grains are not easily “erased” because the quality is not great. After multiple (10+) erase movements, it is common to still see marking on the board.

Not worth the money.
VERY disappointed. Brownish mark that will not come off from where the packaging was glued to the screen. I have tried cleaning it off several ways. After one time of use screen does not clear very well. For the money it is not worth it. We have owned other magna doodles and the quality was not this poor.

Picture clarity?
The picture drawn on the posting is a little deceiving because it isn’t that clear. So don’t purchase it for that reason. Small enough for a child’s lap and using on a road trip (or airplane activity). Erases well. And love that the “pen” is attached to the board (kind of wish the shapes were too)

Flimsy
I’ve purchased several different versions of these over the years to give as gifts. Unfortunately, this newest version is flimsy and feels like something from a flea market or dollar store. The edges on the back, where it would sit on a child’s lap, are sharp and uncomfortable. The pen doesn’t fit well in the molded holding space. It’s not worth more than a few dollars at most.

Great except for little piece that fall off and get lost
I purchased this toy for my toddler for a long car trip, and it did not disappoint. It is small enough for a child to hold on their lap and has a carry handle at the top which is a great size for little hands. The pen is easy to use and my child learned how to draw and erase in about 30 seconds. The only issue is the little shape magnets. They are VERY tiny and a real choking hazard for children who put stuff in their mouth. They also don’t stick to the magna doodle. It would be a huge improvement to have a magnet which holds them in place. Unfortunately, they fall out all the time, which is a shame since they are fun to use. Overall a great toy that meets my needs and my child loves.

Very flimsy and frustrating to erase
As a nanny I have used a variety of manga doodle type drawing pads over the years. I bought this one for my little guy and am VERY disappointed with the flimsy quality of the plastic. My little one also finds the slide eraser quite frustrating. When he tries to slide it across, it catches on the “Magna Doodle” writing and doesn’t slide smoothly. Unsure if we will keep the product or try for something with better quality.

Incorrect size advertised
I give it 3 stars because though the quality was good for $9, the size did not match the product description. According the to product description the item measures 11” x 11” and according to the product dimensions it measures 10.5” x 10.5”. The item that I received measured about 8.5” x 7”, not even close to the size i was expecting, making the pieces that come with it really tiny, which is a problem for me since this is for my toddler. If this was for an older child then I wouldn’t have been too upset about the size not being correct. Other then the size being incorrectly advertised this is a good product and works great. Just not something I can let me toddler play with unless closely supervised, and the main reason for getting this was for in the car. In the end I did end up exchanging for a bigger one, which Amazon handled quickly and with zero hassle. The other one arrives in two days and will hopefully be true to the size advertised.

Perfect size for little ones
Perfect size for little ones! I had a hard time finding a small one like this in store so I was happy to find this one…and at a great price! It is easy to bring on road trips or to places like church where my kids need to be occupied with something quiet. It works great and the stamps are fun, although I’m sure they will end up lost soon. The kids have misplaced them a few times ready but so far I’ve been able to find them. They are so tiny I can’t imagine that happening much longer!

Great travel distraction
This is a great size for travel and kids of all ages lean spend hours on it. -1* because the plastic is pretty flimsy, but for the price, I’d definitely buy again. (Used to have a Fisher Price travel one, and that is better quality, but too expensive.)

Perfect size for little hands in more confined space like the carseat & on your lap in church. Keeps them happy and entertained. If you have the large MagaDoodle, this is a nice one to have too when space is an issue.

Could be smaller, additional parts fall out
Overall we’ll be keeping it and I can see it being a great “quiet time” activity.I admittedly did buy this for a child who was not at the recommended age limit (2 rather than 3), so there are going to be some issues that not everyone may have.First, it’s a little too big for travel. If this is travel size, I wonder what the full size model is, ya know? It is a projectile risk in the car with the hard sides as well. Also, the pieces that it comes with (shapes) are too small, even for three year olds, and definitely for any family that has younger siblings. They also don’t “snap” in place quiet like they should. It was inexpensive and it fits in our diaper bag, those are the pros.
