    Holds fine unless…

Can be dislodged if you whack your device. I did this move from front of RV to back. Advise adjusting goose neck then leaving it alone. Adjusting the neck can lead to the base being moved off center making it unstable.Great for mapping and reading for the passenger. Great for driver who needs to view cameras.

Fantastic flexibility – both what can be held, and positioning

Bought this to hold a snow-blower controller that runs the unit attached to the front of my Polaris Ranger. The mount fits snuggly in the center cupholder. The holder expands on the sides to hold the very awkwardly sized controller unit tight, and the flexible wand allows me to push it into the best position depending on what all I have in the cab with me. Exactly what was needed for a fair price.

    Pretty good holder

I bought this holder to use holding my phone so my little girl could watch videos on in the car. It does a very good job at staying sturdy, but it does come loose and falls out quiet often from bumps in the road and from her kicking the seat. I think this product is really good, it just doesn’t like weird shaped cup holders or smaller ones.

    Works as described

Nice little phone holder though I can’t compare it to any others since this is the first one I’ve ever use.Got a chance to really use it today while on a 200 mile trip. I used the maps app for directions and since my phone gives vocal directions the small amount of vibrations was not a problem. As far as installing it, it couldn’t be easier, drop into cup holder and tighten. I am a little concerned about the bendable part as it is very stiff and I’m worried I’ll break it if I don’t use two hands. One to adjust the position the other to support it. I do notice a little bit of vibration while drive but I expected that. After all it is mounted in a moving vehicle. This doesn’t really cause my any problem since I don’t need to look at the screen that much which is against the law anyway.

    Surprisingly sturdy!

This product is surprisingly sturdy, the flex arm is not a flimsy part at all and requires considerable strength to bend. Yes this product will vibrate a bit, there is always some clearance in the cup holder and the flex arm will always have some vibration mode. Other then that, this was a steal for the price.

    Garbage

Didn’t fit in any of our cup holders, no matter how tight we turned it.I had hoped to use for my daughter’s tablet in the back seat, but even if we could have got it to stay anywhere, there was no way we could have moved her tablet where she needed it. It was very non-flexible.

Hands Free Macalley and Amazon Kindle

A few weeks ago I took up reading on my Kindle again after a long time of not using it.I noticed that sometimes I would tire of holding the Kindle for a long period of time.I was shopping for a new car cell phone holder for my girlfriend and as I browsed through them on Amazon I noticed the ones that are made for your car cup holder. I immediately thought damn, I have cup holders in my recliner. So I bought the Macally one with the flexible 12″ Gooseneck and rotating holder and it works perfectly. It may not be perfect with young children and pets around unless you have an end table with a drawer you can place it in when you are not using it.

    Weak but does the job!!!

Easy to set up but I have to always keep tightening the base cup holder mount while driving. The long reach neck is not sturdy at all. It stakes back and forth so bad with a 12 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Fe it pulls it out of the cup holder. I use it alot for Gps while driving and have to use onebhand to hold it still. Is your still it is a great product but while driving I have see much better products.

    Great product

As of now, I really like this product but I have an SUV so the 12 inch gooseneck is a little too tall for my taste because it protrudes too much while I’m driving so it draws attention while I’m driving, especially at night so I noticed in the description of this item that it says it has an upgraded sturdier base and upgraded 12-inch gooseneck and from the images of other models made by Macally, I see the difference in the base of this model compared to the older models and even the holder for your phone or tablet seems upgraded so it would be nice if they made an upgraded version with a regular size gooseneck but other than that, I really like it and I emailed Macally about this and hope to hear from them soon.

Works really good and as described.

I was really pleased with this GPS holder. I use it to hold my Garmin 65. It holds it steady and sturdy and by twisting the knob it locks in place tightly in the cup holder. I have a Chevy Colorado and the way the dash sits it is not conducive to suction cups ect. The arm is bendable and I modified it to fit and now it is good to go. I’d recommend this product for sure.

    Just what I needed!

Just perfect for what I needed. The dash set up in my SUV not really the best for phone mounts. I had a cupholder holder before, but it was magnetic and the metal plates that go on the back of my phone messed up the wireless charging. It it had no height adjustment so I had to look down at my phone or pick it up. With this holder, I can adjust it so that it’s high enough to see at a glance and is almost like one of the instruments. It fits great in the cupholder and adjust just fine. It does have a long neck which may lead to some bouncing, although this hasn’t been a big problem for me at all. The only drawback is that it does look a little goofy with no phone installed, other than that it’s great.

    Not just for vehicles anymore.

With so many types of furniture no coming with cup holders, think outside the box.The power recliner I purchased recently has a cup holder in both armrests.I use this in one for holding either of my 10″ tablets in. Or my Kindle. Would work easily for a phone.I game a bit on one tablet. Use the other for streaming my cable TV service app. When two games of interest are on, no problem. Hometown Team on the big screen. Other game(s) on the tablet.Leaves one cup holder free for beverage of choice. Both hands free for anything including petting my Rott.Life is good in retirement.

    Super

This exceeds expectation set by the glowing reviews for the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 I am using it with in my 2015 Impala. Long enough to be flexed to a position that allows me easy access to the car’s center stack controls while not intruding on front passenger leg space and yet sturdy enough to give me a nice navigation experience rolling down the road. This may well be too long for some applications but I whole heartedly recommend this, and by proxy, the shorter version for use with my tablet and car combination. It’s worth noting it does take some effort to change the pathing of the neck but it just holds once set. It does not creep out of where your hands leave it.

    It’s just what he wanted

When following GPS instructions, you cannot hold your phone & be safe. Having something to hold your phone while you are driving is a better idea. Especially if you need to glance at the screen to get clarity. The only thing is that this is so long; yes, it puts the phone high enough that you’re not taking your eyes off the road to look down, but not convenient when you want to store it & use the cupholder for cups! Great when having to find destinations in unfamiliar areas.

By far better than the more expensive holder advertised

This holder adjusts to a big or small cupholder. It is built out of a good grade of material. Not at all flimsy or unstable. The adjustment for the cup is secure and when tightened offers no movement. All the adjustment features are strong, well thought out and user friendly. I recommend the long shaft if you have a center counsel cup holder. Extra height makes it easier to see when driving. I am using this in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, a Smart car, and a full size semi truck, Freightliner Columbia. I will be buying another just for being lazy to take it out and switch vehicles. Thumbs up fellas….. Thanks!

    Works as advertised.

The product works as advertised. The only problem is that it shakes and sways a lot when the car is moving and my tablet is attached. This is to be expected, given the long gooseneck. I am glad I bought this, though.

    Worked like a charm

This device held my Galaxy Tab A perfectly during a recent trip. My nav app and the audiobook I listened to while traveling were right at my fingertips. The device was a snap to assemble and install and seems to be relatively sturdy. Looking to see if I can buy just the head for it so that it can be used for my phone or maybe some other gizmo, the head that holds the 8″ tablet is too large for the phone. But I bought it for the tablet so no gripe on that subject.

    Love it

Couldn’t have asked for better! It’s super easy to put together and install. At first, I didn’t think it would fit/hold my giant iPhone X but it is able to turn and stretch, so it performed beautifully. While it stays secure in the holder, you should expect it to bounce/vibrate a little as you hit bumpy road. The bendy stand causes that instability, but I never felt like my phone would fall out or anything – just noticed it was difficult to read street names on the map as it vibrates from bumpy road. 🙂

Does a great job holding a gps out of the sun in a cup holder.

My 7″ GPS for truck use was very difficult to use on the dashboard of my vehicle so I bought one of these to put it closer to me out of the sun. The gooseneck was very sturdy and held the item well. My wife saw how well it worked for me that she wants one for her car…!

It works and it’s a good value for the money

I’ve been through a lot of these and in most cases I end up tossing them. This one is different it works and it works well. For most phones and small tablets I’ve had no trouble at all with it. For a large tablet like a 9 inch or 10 inch iPad it’s difficult to hold the weight and I found that it would shift in the cupholder no matter how tight I made it, so it’s probably not a good fit for the larger iPads

    Great product, would’ve given 5 stars but….

the pads that are around the base to cushion the grip in the cup holder come off very easily.A little gorilla glue fixes the issue when they come off.The good definitely out weighs the bad so i recommend this product. Holds my 10 x 7 iPAD with no problems. Easy to adjust to hold a phone and easy to adjust to any angle you like.

    Quality holder

Bought this holder to mount my RF brake controller inside my 2012 VW Touareg tow vehicle.Needed the longer neck to obtain optimum positioning to put the Trailer brake application button within easy reach. This holder was the perfect solution, highly recommended! It can be positioned to grip the controller from the top and bottom, leaving the sides open to access all the adjustment buttons and dials. There is a slot at the bottom to accommodate the cord that plugs into the 12v outlet.Perfect design, very sturdy and easy to install.

Great product, but will not hold in rubberized cup holder.

The attachment to the cup is fine, however in my F-150 cup holder is made of rubber and the Insert will not tighten to the point that i can hold my iPad Pro 11″. So I settled for my phone. If I had a solid cup holder everything would have been fine.Otherwise, it’s a good product and it seems that it will hold up fine.

    Decent tablet holder

Holder was bought to hold a 4Ucam backup camera display. It was not a good fit for this display since it is thicker and the feet on the holder had a tough time grabbing the display. Once I had it in the holder, it did have some bounce to it while riding down the road. Probably would work great for an Ipad.

  34. Dieseldean

    2.0 out of 5 stars

    Shake, rattles and, flimsy

When a tablet is not in the holder it makes so much noise you will want to throw it out the window. It said in the add on the site that it would hold a bulky tablet with a protective case. Not true that tablet bounces out the first bump because it’s not grabing the tablet like it should. Lastly the holder is made of that brittle plastic and when you try to adjust the tablet it seems like it’s going to break way before it starts to move for the adjustment so you have to pull over, come to a complete stop put your car in park, loosen the nuts that make the fittings tight to make an adjustment.

    Great product

I bought the phone & tablet car mount after seeing the one my brother in-law bought. I read the reviews the 5 -1 stars. It arrived before the scheduled date, I have used it for about two weeks, hit bumps, suddenly breaked, and have swerved and the phone has remain in place. The only thing I have notice the mount base needs to be re-tightned every so often. Would have included photo but kept getting an error message.

    Works well in our Camry

I’ve used this stand for about 2 weeks now. It fits in the cup holder snugly and the extended neck makes the phone easily viewed. This was a good purchase for me as I like the maps feature on my phone better than the Scout app that came in the Camry. This stand could also easily fit a larger Ipad or Kindle. I haven’t tried that yet, but the neck is sturdy enough that I don’t think that will be a problem.

    Functional and Durable

The “gadget” holder works as advertised. It easily fits in my cupholder and was able to securely hold my iPhone and 9.7″ iPad. What I didn’t like is the way it “jiggles” when riding in my car. It makes it more difficult to read out of the corner of my eye while driving. That being said, perhaps I shouldn’t be trying to read them while driving!

Best phone holder I have had for the car

The cup holder interface is top notch. Odd the tightening is counter clockwise, but when you realize that, you just have to remember. But it works great and holds tight. The goose neck is VERY stiff. So it is hard to bend to shape. I was careful to support the joints when bending to avoid chance of breaking a weaker spot. I would say to bend this to the shape you want and not expect to bend it daily. The rotation is great, it turns easy but hold its position. My phone is only about 3.5 inches wide, so I put it in the long length direction of holder which works just fine. There is a very slight jiggling of device over rough road, but not more than I would expect. I would say less than expected. I like it much better than the vent mounted ones I have had. I like the phone closer to my armrest so that I can stabilize my arm while operating the device. This is the most important thing that you might not think about. I guess the only negative about that location is that you have to look down slightly more than if you had it higher on the dash area. This is not a problem as I feel you should not glance at phone any longer than you would glance at another person in the car or look out a side or back window. Only had this 1 week, so we will see how it hold up. Don’t expect any issues.

    Fits perfectly!

This phone cup holder is replacing one that was ok except in winter. Seems the cold affected its ability to stay in the opening. But I think this one will work great all year long. It’s VERY sturdy but pliable enough to conform to my situation. With all the bumpers in place, it was too wide to fit but removing some made it fit perfectly without any movement while driving. The height is just right, too. I’m very pleased with the quality and workmanship of this well made and thought out cell phone holder!

Sturdy, but big, awkward and difficult to store

I bought this as an alternative to permanently affixing something to the dashboard. Especially since it wasn’t my car, it was a rental car.It worked just fine with my 8″ tablet, and being a tablet holder sadly it was too big to hold my phone. The goose neck is surprisingly sturdy. You can increase the size of the base simply by rotating it. Since I bought it to use on a rental car I’ll probably end up re-gifting it, but I really don’t have a whole lot of criticism to offer for such a simple device.Yes, placing something like this in a cup holder as opposed to up on the dash does mean that you are likely to bump it, but that’s a necessary evil given the intended use.

My 4th Garmin if it were my first it would be my last

The unit leaves a lot to be desired. My first problem I could not attach the holder to the windshield. Tried the side window and it held be was on the seat an hour later. Ultimately got a cup holder that it just fits in vertically. But it has a hard time connecting to satellites. Put it flat on the dash and it synced quickly. Adjusted the holder arm so it is now fairly flat and it is better but now it makes getting to the shifter on my Prius a little tricky. (Not a major issue as I only need to use the shift when stopped). Previous garmins allowed me to specify shortest/direct route. This on always wants me to use highways and ‘major’ roads. Having it taking me home always wants to take me at 2 miles out of the way. Accuracy of track and speed info wore often incorrect. Speed may have been do the location of the unit in the car. Tracking another issue. On multiple occasions when going to one of my favorite restaurants I was on a beltline and was directed to go the the exit after the restaurant and back track to the destination. Instead, traffic was slowing so I got off at the previous exit followed the frontage road, went under the highway to the opposite frontage road and proceeded to the restaurant. For the whole trip the gpshad still on the highway fat least 25 yards away from the current location. This same result happened 3 times.I have serious doubts about using it in unfamiliar urban areas . Probably take my old unit as a backup.Hopefully there will be firmware and software upgrades soon.

    Great product

I was looking back through my orders in order to find this holder so that I could send the information to a friend and felt compelled to write this review. I have had mine for almost 3 years, and it has been terrific. With my iPhone, there has been no issue of its wiggling. I love how high the arm is. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. Of course, if your car allows a suction fit on the dashboard, that would be better in that you don’t lose a cup holder. That is the only disadvantage.

Overall this is pretty good. It’s a bear to screw in all the way and it would be great if the screw mechanism had tabs or something you could get your fingers on to make it a bit easier. But it does seat pretty good in the cup holder of my F150 (2018 model). The flex cable is quite stiff and you won’t be moving it about on the fly, so set it how you want it before you start driving. This is a good thing, by the way :-)It doesn’t shake nearly as much as I thought it would and is stable on some fairly rough Louisiana roads. IF you flip the holder upside down, it helps to make a sort of quick release mechanism for your phone. It also held my iPad mini securely for a trip of about 7 hours (used it for running Waze separately from my console screen). That was secure as well.My only gripe is that it’s so darn hard to tighten into the cup holder and this would be easily engineered out with a simple design change. Hence, the 4 stars but for durability and stability, it’s quite nice.

Very adjustable phone holder that would be so much better if it was only a few inches taller..

Read the instructions and it will be easy to install. Hold the base while you bend and twist the almost long enough to be perfect adjustable neck and there you have it. It’s open on the bottom so you can charge the phone while using and holds it securely. I drove on the Oakland side of the bay on their godawful interstate and didn’t jar it out of the clamps so it’s a solid grip. I used it a lot on recent trips and find myself fiddling with it at lights trying to get it turned to face me but it just can’t quite bend that far. Leaning it over brings it too close so there you have it.

It’ll stay in place and makes it very easy to follow navigation.

Awesome product!! Works better than described 👍🏼 Stays in place by expanding the bottom, keeps my phone handy and I can follow directions at a glance without having to hold on to the phone. It can be charged and I can plug the audio cable without any problems. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 and it works great, best purchase ever!! Very happy with my purchase.P. S. I bought the Magnetic car mount by bestrix but had to returned it because my phone was too heavy I guess and kept the mount falling down, it was too far to follow directions and not handy to be able to charge my phone. I have an iPhone 6plus.

It wobbles a lot with my iPad 9.8” (no case)

Fits perfectly in my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander cup holders. I’m using a 2018 iPad 9.8” model A1954 w/ no case. It holds my iPad in landscape view perfectly. The “goose neck” itself is super stiff but can be adjusted. Minus 1 star because it wobbles a lot while I’m driving on the highway. I commute 150mi a day in San Jose area traveling North & South all the time on main highways. I still recommend this for commuters despite the wobbling. It can easily be corrected by grabbing the iPad and holding it still once again.

    It works for the price

I use this mount to hold my IPad so I can watch the GPS while off-roading. It works well but I may need to make some adjustments. The mount will pop out of the cup holder when trying to adjust the IPad as there is too much leverage up top. Also, the brackets that hold the IPad do not have any foam/rubber to hold it in place, so as I make turns, etc, the IPad slides out. Will work fine on paved roads.

    Great value.

I travel for work and use an iPad as a mobile workstation. This easily accommodates the size of a tablet and provides easy access for navigation. I am able to quickly access emails, files and photos on the run (while parked mind you) without fumbling around. It simply twists free when I am not working. It’s “neck” is a little wobbly holding a larger tablet, but the piece that holds the tablet is pretty solid and adjustable. Great product especially for the price.

Not a good fit for 2021 Honda Civic. Too short and not sturdy enough to stand straight.

Not a good fit for 2021 Honda Civic. Too short and not sturdy enough to stand straight. Was looking forward to use with Garmin Smartdrive 87 as one of my best choice. It didn’t work well for me.

    Shakes when holding IPad

The media could not be loaded.

The product is solid, easy to use, holds the iPad tight, and feels very secure in the cup holder. My only complaint is it doesn’t hold the iPad as still or sturdy as I’d like. Ordering a solid instead of the curvy shaft next to see if it makes a difference. Would like something to be more stable when typing or showing Netflix to the other passengers going down the road.

    Construction

This product is as advertised and works well in holding my ipad. The base and arm is sturdy, so it does not wobble too much when driving. I would like to see the stand that holds the ipad one solid piece, rather than the top folding into the center of the stand bottom. Two solid pieces (detached) that could screw into one another, giving the option of a lower height etc. Overall, the product is good. The price seems a bit high though.

This does not hold a regular iPads. Description is misleading.

Easy enough to assemble however the tightening mechanism did not keep it in place in the cup holder. When moving the attachment to secure phone it pivots out of cup holder. This thing will hold myiPhone but definitely not an iPad which is my I picked this particular product. Misleading in description. Definitely some better phone holder options.

No need for a new headunit with this and a tablet

Works awesome in my 2010 Toyota sequoia! Using a Samsung Tab s5e tethered to my phone has transformed my vehicle. Its better than just having android auto on a headunit. Google maps works flawlessly with location services on my wifi only model s5e even with downloaded maps if I do not want real time traffic. Make sure to adjust both sides of mount , I thought at first it was too small but I wasn’t adjusting both. Tablet shakes a little at times but it is plenty stable even when using tablet to change songs etc. 10/10
