Great price, really soft and warm, perfect fit.
They fit great! I usually wear 32-33″ waist x 32″ legs and was afraid this was going to be too tight or short from the reviews I had read, but on the contrary it fits perfect. I just took my precautions and I am washing it in cool water only and not using a dryer but rather dry it flat. Fabric is really soft both outside and inside and is just thick enough that it doesn’t make you feel you are wearing layers at all but still keeps me warm. I recommend it 100%.

Quality not the same as before
This is my second pair of duofold thermals. I loved the first pair and ordered this second pair after the first wore out.Unfortunately, the manufacturing process seems to have changed and the durability has suffered significantly. They are still warm and comfortable, but they won’t last more than a season of heavy use or two with light to moderate use. I used them somewhat lightly and after two seasons they are done.Personally, I’ll be looking for a different brand for my next pair.

Surprisingly comfortable
I typically wear a medium in a long john bottom. After reading reviews I ordered a large size and the fit was just right. The product description mentions that the outer layer is 25% merino wool. I find that wool causes me to itch but the long john bottom was very comfortable and warm. It remains to be seen how well they hold up.

As advertised
Some reviews mention that these seem to have a really long crotch line. Well, actually they are high-waisted which simply means they initially sit above the waistline. But my experience is that they shronk down after 3-4 washingsand begin to comform to your body thereafter. So I think its probably better to have long johns that sit a little higherso when you bend over on some cold and windy day you won’t feel the North wind blowing down your b.c. !

Love these thermal long-johns
Love these thermal long-johns. Very good for moderate activity in temps down to around 10º. Below that I switch to the heavyweight from the same brand. I like that the use a wool mix for the outer layer and a comfy cotton inner layer. They stand up well to repeated washings too but I like to let them air dry so they last even longer. Wisconsin winters mean I get to wear them a lot. I get about five years out of these before the elastic waistband fails. Been buying this brand for more than 30 years because it’s a good product.

Will shrink ridiculously small the first wash
I have experience with a previous Duofold underwear that is still ok after 3 years except for the elastic band everybody is reporting to give up.I bought this Duofold in a rush due to a cold front coming. It did the job and kept me warm. This one is true to its size.THE PROBLEM IS IT SHRANK RIDICULOUSLY SMALL AFTER THE FIRST WASH. I’m 5’7. The pants shrank so small even my petite daughter who is 4’10 did not felt comfortable wearing it.DO NOT THROW AWAY THE ORIGINAL BOX AFTER A FEW WASHES S YOU ARE ABLE TO RETURN IF NEEDED BE.My waste of money.

my purchase of long underwear bottoms for this freezing winter weather
I looked on Amazon.com for a pair of long underwear bottoms to deal with this freezing winter weather and found this pair. After reading reviews on this purchase and trying on my new leggings, I found the warmth and the fit as expected. They keepmy legs warm and are not too hot in indoor temperatures. As stated in the reviews, they are a little short in length. I ordered alarger size than my usual 34 waist after reading that they shrink when washed, but they have an elastic band waist and fit just fine.Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would get another pair if I need to.

Launders easily but with wrinkles
Compared Duofold’s Double Layer Thermals and FX MAXHEAT Soft Fleece Thermals.Duofold Double Layer thermal is mainly cotton and wool. It’s thicker so it feels comparatively warmer.Launders easily but with wrinkles.Fits comfortably with a looser fit.Crotch hole.FX MAXHEAT is made of a combination of fleece inside and polyester outside. It’s pretty warm for how thin it feels.Launders easily like a dream with no wrinkles at all.Fits comfortably with a tight fitting stretch to show off what you got if desired. No crotch hole. When hiking I plan to use Duofold, for everyday use I use FX MAXHEAT

Best long underwear ever.
This is a great product. I had a set that I bought sometim in the early 1990’s and I loved them so much that I quite literally wore them out. Seriously the previous pair finally looks like I was attached by a savage bobcat or something. So when the wife said “it’s time” I bought the same brand and materials. They were probably servicable for 15 years before I replaced them. I wear them on sub-zero windy days with just jeans over them and I am fine. I can’t recommend thes highly enough, and I’ve worn out a lot fo long underwear in my days. The caveat being buy by inseam. I bought the Large top, and the XL bottom.

Great quality, fits well and does it’s job well
I have bought this product multiple times. Love these and they are part of my routine from November to March. I have pairs that are 6 years old and I buy one or two every year to cycle out older ones. Very durable and warm. They fit well.

They do shrink a bit
My husband is typically a medium but the large fit him well and these did shrink a bit so I am glad I got the large.I washed in cold and dried on medium heat and at first they were about 6 inches shorter than when I put them in the wash. I had to streatch them back out and they did streach about 4-5 inches leaving them one or two inches shorter than when we bought them. Just make sure once you pull them out of the wash you streatch them back out. This will likely decrease the lifespan of them but if you only wear for occasional use then it won’t be an issue. If you’re in a cold area and use often, I’d expect 2- 3 years out of them because you’d have to keep streatching them after each wash. I am not sure if you air dried if that would help. After washing and re-streatching the inseam is about 29-30″These are intended to come only to the ankle, so they are shorter than normal pants. These have a useable fly for a man, the waistband is just elastic with a duofold logo on it, they feel like a ‘cottony’ material vs the silky or waffel material others are made of.I don’t regret buying them and these will suit our needs since they’ll only be occasional use, but I won’t buy them again because they ‘shrink’ and need to be streached out again after washing.

I have been wearing these since 2019. Everywhere from Alaska winter to Missouri winter. These work better than most and at no time have I felt under or over dressed. Nothing fancy about these…they simply work and work well.

Warm!
We are South Dakota cattle ranchers. As you can imagine, it gets cold here during the winter months. Even though expensive, my husband will tell you that his Duofold long johns are worth every penny! He says they are the only brand that keeps him warm.

Thin, really tight, better than nothing
I was hoping for something a bit looser to keep heat around the body but it is snug like a spandex fat suit seems. It is like a longer version of tighty whiteys. Not thermal like I remember having in my youth. I can’t say they keep you a lot warmer than not having them on. Well, I guess a bit. Not much. They are soft and comfy, albeit tight. The ad is better than the reality.

Important point about proper sizing
Duofold long underwear is a good, trusted brand. I wore the previous pair basically to death. The quality is still good, the fabric quite comfortable, (cottony-feeling, not polyestery) and the stitching seems fine. But the leg sizing was a bit of a disappointment. I’m about as average a male build as one can imagine: 5′ 9″ at 145 lbs, with regular-length legs. Generally I’d buy a Large size but I preferred my old long-johns as they were on the baggy side, so I selected XL instead. On arrival, generally the fit was neither baggy nor tight and the waist was fine, but the length was high-waterishly short. If you have a body type like mine, unless you wore calf-length socks the ankles on the underwear will ride up & expose your shins. So while I do recommend the product, my next pair will definitely be at least an XXL or higher.

These are rated about one size smaller than
Fruity under garments. . . BUT once I ordered a size larger than I normally use, THEN the fit was excellent. And they keep you warm in cool weather and cool in warmer weather. Last year I wore long johns for 364 out of the 365 days. And was glad I did, because it helped to keep the deer ticks from giving me Lyme Disease again. . .(had Lyme 3 times now). . . here in rural Wisconsin.

A good choice for those on a clothing budget
I’m not going to discuss sizing. These leggings are off the shelf, while everyone is custom made. So ultimately there is going to be a range of satisfaction as far as fit.I will compare the Duofold leggings to superwash merino leggings you can get from other companies. Those pure merino leggings typically cost two to five times or more what one pair of Duofold leggings cost. However, the pure merino leggings tend to be heavier, thinner, warmer, longer lasting, and faster drying.Another advantage of pure merino leggings is that they wick perspiration away from the body and have the peculiar trait of not smelling even after long use. What can be said for the Duofolds then? For me, the lower price of the Duofolds is a big factor in their favor. And even though the merino content in these Duofolds is a fraction of the total material in the leggings, still, that minority of merino manages to pull beyond its weight so that the Duofolds do a decent job of wicking away perspiration and insulating the legs, have the advantage of minimal odors after extended use between washings, dry relatively fast after washing, and are not bulky. All in all, given a budget of about $60, I’d rather wear three layers of Duofolds than wear one layer of pure merino leggings. That works for me for suburban activities.People going on days long outdoors trips might want to go for the pure merino leggings, though.

Having Normal Leg Length I Wish They Were Longer
These were cold water washed first and line-dried. I wear a small and have a 28′ waist with 30′ inseam and these ride up when seated. When wearing other popular brands I’ve experienced the same issue. When buying a medium I end up with loose fitting waist band.

I had good experience with Duofold since 2000, but a pair I bought in 2015 disappointed
I bought this in 2015 because the Duofold I received a pair as a gift around 2000, before tagless. The 2000 vintage is still a great pair of long underwear, still using it today in 2023. bought the pair I bought in 2015, I got very few washings out of it before the waistline elastic failed maybe 5 washings. I washed and dried it with the pair from 2000 and other underwear, and I just haven’t had waistband elastic failures in years, buying costco kirkland brand. I thought to give duofold/champion/hanes another try this year hoping their quality control is better, but I am really disapointed in the pair I bought in 2015, I think about taking up sewing to replace the waistband, I recently searched the internet about contacting Hanes, couldn’t find an easy way to send them a message, maybe they reach out to me here.

probably not the best choice as these will cause dry skin irritation after …
CAUTION: this patented material DOES ‘moisture-wick’ … just a little TOO well. If you’re planning to ware thermals only ’round your drafty home all day, probably not the best choice as these will cause dry skin irritation after no less than 18-20 hrs. of wearing. These are apparently designed for shorter, part-time durations outdoors. As for sizing, like most manufacturers since ‘turn of the century’ times, they’re trying to ‘accommodate’ our U.S. “Super-Size Me” market anymore. Not so much as some but maybe more than many (born before 1980? 😉 would’ve expected. I’d say they’re sized about a 1/2-size larger than what ‘S’/’M’/’L’…etc. used to translate to. And contrary to ad photo, these’ll either cover your naval {i.e. literally up to man’s ‘waist’ as opposed to top of hips} OR you’re going to have room to stash a couple grapefruits under your … ‘partition’ shall we say? Which IS a nuisance but for ‘breathe-ability’ within–if only to an extent; depending on how ‘roomy’ you like your outerwear inseam. Drawback as always, gents: if you hike-up in the middle then the legs only cover 2/3rds of your calves…which means you can’t wear short socs with ’em if you’re looking too keep your heat ’round your boot-tops.

Really soft and warm!
I ordered the 2XL, because other reviews talked about them shrinking, and they fit fine – I normally wear a women’s size 16. They did shrink some. I bought the men’s version because they were so much cheaper than the women’s sizes, and the green color was much nicer.

so far I like these. they feel pretty good
so far I like these. they feel pretty good. a bit tight in the calves. I ordered the medium size based off of the sizing chart provided by Amazon, but when I received the package, the size chart on the box showed that I should have ordered a large. so, if you want to get these, go one size up if you are going by Amazons chart. i had to exchange the mediums, and Amazon sent out the replacement quickly, but they sent me a pair that someone else had already opened and tried on. the ones i sent back had not even been taken out of the box. they are kinda baggy in the crotch, not too sure why that is, but all thermal underwear I have tried seem to be that way. these are definitely not cheap motel long johns, if you know what I mean. haha. I will have to wait a few more weeks it seems before I will know exactly how they will do when it gets good and cold.

Good mid-weight thermal, with one caveat
These pants are solidly constructed, comfortable, and do a good job of keeping my legs warm. The only thing that keeps this a four-start rather than five-star review is that the bottom cuffs sometimes ride up the leg, creating a chilly gap between the pants and the top of my socks. Another pair of mine never do that, but I bought those a while back and can’t find the brand anywhere now.

Expensive but a much better experience
Got my first pair of long johns (unknown brand) from a local 99 cent store and they were just awful! Too short in the front, too long in the back, too tight in the thigh and too loose in the ankle. They were warm but the material wasn’t comfortable. They were like $10 for a set of top and bottoms. Finally sucked it up and spent twice that for half the number of products but it was worth it.These are so super soft and flexible. They have just a little extra space so i don’t feel or look like I’m wearing skin tight leggings. The front and back come up to the perfect hight. They also do their job and keep me warm! Would love a 5 pack of these to just wear around the house or even as sleepwear.

Great winter underwear
I have worn this brand for years during the winter months. My dog and I walk every morning and these keep me warm on the coldest days. They are comfortable and fit well. The ones I recently purchased were to replace two pairs that were several years old on which the elastic had worn out.

Husband loves ’em.
Last year, towards the end of Chicago’s incredible cold snap, I got a pair of these for my husband thinking, “Hey, worth having. Who knows…. maybe he’ll wear them sometime.” So OK. At first, he used them only when shoveling snow. Eventually, though, he began looking for them on a regular basis… even, when they were in the wash. (Ugh!) This year, in September, I ordered another two pair… figuring he would be prepared for the bitter weather when it arrived. Thing is… he started wearing them almost right away – at the first sign of fall’s chill. Can’t say I blame him. They seem soft and comfortable, and he says they keep him well insulated from the cold. They also wash well…. which is an added plus for me. So, looks like I’ll be buying more. Yeah, I know. Created a monster. But, at least, a warm one.

Merino wool for the win!!!
Let me just say we lived in these for 7 days. We did a camping/hiking trip through Zion, Bryce, arches, camped in the snow and they barely stunk (even my bf had little to no funk). They were great warm base layers and even after getting sweaty and starting to cool down you don’t get cold like you do with compression or wicking. We’re from San Diego and survived the southern Utah snow storms and as cold a 1degree. Also there was no chafing after 5-10 miles hikes and wearing all day.

Poor quality
The quality of the elastic used in the waistband is terrible. I’ve had these Duofold midweight double-layer thermals slightly over two years and the waistband is stretched out and wrinkled so badly they won’t stay up. It’s stretched 4-5”. I’m 5’ 9” tall, weigh 155# and wear a medium. Also, the underwear main double-layer material gets excessively wrinkled every time it’s washed and dried. Always washed cold and line dried. The leg length is on the short side. I wear them once a week for about 4 months a year. They feel great on the skin and the seams and sewing are good. I received another pair this past Christmas and they’re starting to stretch at the waist band already. I have a pair of old Duofold that I’ve had for years (were made in USA) and they’re still in good shape. It’s too bad they didn’t raise the quality 30% instead of the price. I always hate to see a good product fall by the wayside. I won’t be buying anymore of them.

I love summer
I love summer, which is a way to say I hate winter and look for ways to defeat it.I wear these as a middle layer (underwear, then these, then pants; optional snow pants overtop), and they really keep your legs warm, which actually helps keep your feet warm, which makes sense, but I hadn’t realized. The quality is good. The color is exactly as it appears on screen. They look like the ones in the picture. The legs are JUST long enough that I can put my boot socks over top, but I’m 6’4″ so you’ll probably have it easier.

hopefully just a mis-cut/irregular piece and not the standard
Clarification: this is specifically in regards to a green pair that was a gift, therefor I cannot leave a review on that transaction.Pros: warm, lightweight, fits snug but not too tight on the legs. Definitely does it’s jobCons: this pair is ridiculous. It has all the room you could want in the crotch and front, but NO ROOM FOR GLUTS. I’m not a junk-in-trunk built kind of person, but these don’t actually sit above my mid sacrum on the rear. this is extremely uncomfortable, especially being someone of high tactile sensitivity. Which on that note, all the fabric that SHOULD be covering the glut so they can sit at the natural waist all around, is bunched up in a VERY uncomfortable position. I have literally NEVER had a pair of thermal pants be THIS uncomfortable.I’ve had previous pairs that fit fine, and before someone chimes in “oh, just get a larger size lard ass”, the next size up is too baggy and won’t even sit around my waist properly. I’ve had 3 pairs of these before with no problem, so I’m assuming this is an Irregular that QC failed to catch.Unfortunately, they got lost in the laundry for a while, so it’s well beyond the return period, and I’m stuck with these.

Five stars from me!
Buying clothes online is a little tricky since you don’t know when you buy them for the first time how the fit is going to be, so when buying something for the first time, I tend to buy one, try the fit and go from there. I got it right the first time around on these, so I ordered another pair About two weeks after the first, and now last night ordered my third pair. I really like the fit, the feel, everything about them. I don’t give out five star reviews very often, but these get five stars from me!

These are short in the legs.
I expected them to be longer in the legs. I am six four and ordered these by the size chart. Duofold used to have talls but couldn’t find them online so took a chance on these. Not the quality of the pair I have had for many years. Disappointed.

Better than others I have had
For the price they seem pretty good and are better than any others I have had that are in the same price range. I’m 5’9 and 150 lbs and the medium fits good. I work in an office and warehouse and most of the time I am cold during the winter. It was in the 40’s today and raining/windy and I was very warm wearing this set with just a sweatshirt on top. I like them enough I will likely buy another pair.

Nice quality, a bit short
The material feels and looks nice, with a 100% cotton inner layer and a 25% wool outer layer. I ordered the small size, which is described on the package as 28-30 waist. It fits my 29 to 30 inch waist fine, but it’s a bit short for me (I’m 5’11-1/2). I measured the inseam, and it’s 27″ if fully stretched out. I buy pants with at least a 32″ inseam, so the 5″ difference is very large, but with long socks, there is no gap. The problem I foresee is I can’t afford for these to shrink at all, and significant shrinkage has been documented in other reviews. The care instructions say “Tumble dry low,” but there is no way I will put these in the dryer given the already short length and the other reviews documenting significant shrinkage after drying. I am surprised that the manufacturer would not pre-wash these to ensure stable dimensions, and then would still recommend putting them in the dryer.

Feels really warm and a good fit.
I ordered this for my 6’1, 210 husband and it fits really well. This Original style in a large was a good fit for him. It fit around his waist (hes wears a 36 inch in regular pants) and good length on his legs. Fit right at his ankles. My husband has several style’s of the Duofold thermals in shirts and pants. He really likes there products. The Original style pant feels warm and soft. Its considered “Warmest”on the Duofold chart. He hasn’t had a chance to test that, but based on past performance with other Duofold thermals, it should be. Was really happy over all with the fit on him, not to tight, but form fitting.

Warm and comfortable
Love these. Originally bought them to wear for early morning outings in the winter, but they are also perfect for wearing around the house as well when cold. They do seem to fit a size above what you normally wear, but so long as you air dry them, they should be fine. Comfortable and keep you warm. Will probably buy a third pair at some point.

Longer than expected
I ordered the large pants and they are longer than I expected, I normally wear 29 length inseam or sometimes a 30″ if 29’s are not available. I didn’t measure these but I would say they were longer than 30. They were also a little loose in the top area. I washed and dried them hot, which you are not supposed to do, but they now fit perfect. Hopefully they won’t shrink again but I’ll use gentle cycle with low temps from now on.We had our first below 30 degree morning last week and they felt great.

Good product
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the legs could be longer (Size Large). The inseam is about 26″, they do stretch however not to 32″ which is my inseam size; and I am an average size for a large. A tall large would be 34″ inseam, and these would be extremely short for a person with longer than average legs!

3 years in…. the elastic is finally giving up. Other than that there isn’t a need to replace them. I work 12s overnight and these see use from mid October until mid April. Very durable other than the elastic finally giving up. Will retire them this year and replace next season.

For me, the medium is a bit tight. So I altered.
For me, size 32, the medium waist is a bit tight. So I altered by making an incision into the center rear through the elastic waistband. Also, for me, the medium is a bit short; riding up. So I ordered the large. I miss the old – decades old – Duofold.

Shrinks a fair amount!
Here are measurements of the medium sized bottom, before and after washing/drying on low heat. Before: overall length 40″, width across hips 18″After: overall length 37″, width across hips 17.5″.Waistband at rest is 31″.If contemplating a medium, compare above with a garment that fits well.Feel of fabric is very soft and light, altogether quite comfortable. Seems warm enough for normal daily outdoor activities in 30 to 40 degree weather.I would encourage others to post the before/after washing dimensions of articles of clothing they review. Much more useful than statements that it shrank up to one’s knees etc. etc.

For those who don’t like being cold.
Cold weather and I don’t get along, especially working as I do in a poorly heated detached workshop. These Duofolds make all the difference in the world between comfort and misery. The inner surface of the bottoms are cotton and a soft merino wool layer on top of that, so there is no problem with itching or skin irritation. You can wear these all day or complement your pajamas at night with them. They are also of a manageable thickness so you don’t have to buy larger pants, or pajamas, to accommodate them. I have Duofold in cappuccino, blue, and heather and I like the heather color the best. Regardless, they do what I want, which is keep me warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this product (BTW, buy a size larger than your normal size because there is some initial shrinkage even if you wash with cold water and dry on cool). Wear your socks on top of the bottoms so the bottoms don’t ride up your leg with movement. For most cold days and nights these mid-weights are perfect; when it is really cold I shift to the Duofold heavy wools. The merchant from whom I bought this product was very quick to ship and the product was in first rate shape. Kudos.

I work out side. Being a security guard can be one cold job if your not moving all the time or setting still. I read theDuofold Men’s Midweight Double-Layer Thermal Pants length shrinks a lot. So I purchase the next size up. It did shrink up around 4 inch’s in the leg length. But the waist size only shrink up about 2 inch’s. So it’s a little lose. but the length is right on. Once again the clothing companies think. If your waist is 40″ your legs are short. What gives? Now I will say, I did wear them today. Yes it was warmer then yesterday with another brand on. So I worn them under my Hane’s brand to give me double the warmth. It worked like a charm. They are only good for temps from 20-35 degrees. Any colder they do need a little help. Second layer of clothing. Temps today -6 to 10 degrees. I’m so pumped waiting for the shirt to arrive.

Large-Tall too short for 6’5 skinny male.
The packaging these long johns came in had them folded and taped to stay folded. When removing the tape it pulled a large amount of seam loose that would have impaired their function eventually. Ended up returning with no hassle. When worn around my house twice the crotch area was way too long, which seems to be a common issue in long johns. I am 170 pounds, waist 36”x38” length. I ordered tall-large. Too small and short for my tastes and difficult to move around in. If I had reordered another pair, I would have gone up a size in hopes of being more mobile.I recently ordered a pair of CYZ thermal pants that are much better sized in the man area. Not as high quality but at $9 prime, I will settle.
CYZ Men’s Thermal Pants-Black-L
Pros:Very soft and warmStayed in place around waistCons:Poor tape placement of packagingToo long of crotch regionLittle expensive at $25 Prime

Feel nice, UPDATED REVIEW
I just received these pants. I purchased them for my husband. He works in the cold all day.. It has been below freezing here. He has not gotten the chance to wear them since I just received them. But I will update this week! but I took some pictures to help those interested.UPDATE!!It has been a few months now and its finally warming up out. My husband loved these soooo much when it was below freezing here. He drives a fork lift in a building that has open doors on all up and down the whole building creating a draft. We tried the long johns from walmart and other places.. but they were just made of cotton.. these on the other hand have wool in them as well. Helps block the wind and keep the heat in. We couldn’t be happier and will be buying more for next winter!

Too short
This would be fine if you are on the shorter side. 5’6 and under. Bought same brand few years ago and they fit great.. disappointed.

Don’t go by the size they say best fits your profile
I ordered these XL because they said that’s what best fits my profile and when they arrived they looked perfect until I washed them and they shrunk to half the size and they don’t fit me at all so basically I’m out the money and stuck with 2 pairs I paid over $60 for 😡

As advertised – excellent quality
They’re straightforward long underwear, soft, warm, washable. What’s not to like?

comfortable, exactly as I expected. decades long duofold customer
comfortable…. I`m a 30 inseam which fits me perfectly. with NO extra length (after wash/and “extremely hot” dry) to spare. Anyone with a longer inseam might find these to be a little short; unless you cool dry, or buy from Duofold Big/Tall… Duofold has always (last 30 years that I`m aware of) been manufactured this way…… If you really need an extremely rugged, indestructible, and extremely warm pair I would suggest looking for Duofold heavy weight.

Comfortable and warm
Comfortable and warm, they are partly made w quality wool, which beats many of the long Johns you find on Amazon. I went one size up, and they fit well. Xl for 5-10 182 lbs
