Crystal Clear Instructions

With 36 pages of detailed instructions and brightly-colored images, you will learn how to create brightly colored, sweet-smelling bath bombs to use or share!

Start with a basic bath bomb, then learn how to make tie-dye colors, toy surprises in the center, custom shapes and rainbows!

Tips for Making Klutz-Proof Bath Bombs

  • Make sure to mix the glycerin into the powders really, really well. The best way is to massage the mixture with your hands for 2-5 minutes until the powder turns bright and clumps together.
  • Use the clump test on page 10 in the book to see if your mixture is ready to be molded. If it’s not, it needs to be mixed more! (We don’t recommend adding more glycerin than the recipe calls for.)
  • If it’s rainy or humid where you live, dry the bath bombs in a refrigerator. Humidity can set off the fizzing reaction and result in lumpy bath bombs. The fridge is a controlled, dry environment.
  • If your bath bomb crumbles, that’s OK! Drop the pieces into your bath, and they will still fizz like a bath bomb.

    Did not stay in shape

The bombs did not stay in the shape of the mold. We followed all directions (and aren’t in a humid area) though after getting the stuff out of the mold – it looked good at first, but then over time began “melting” into a blob.

    Glycerin?

My daughter got this as a Christmas gift she loves bath bombs and crafts luckily I had some back up glycerin from making them at home but not every household has that luxury. But the bottle busted in the box. Idk maybe it shoulda came with a lid or packaged better. Also we made 2 bathbombs last night and they set off I’m certain it was due to humidity which I tried explaining that to my daughter but she didn’t care so that was a little experiment for her maybe she will listen next time…Also I’m not sure if there was Epsom salt in with the citric acid and it wasn’t specified but the citric acid was very crystalized.

    Honestly pretty hard to use

I love this bath bomb kit! I got it for my 6 year old niece and I to do together (gotta train those women in stem early), but honestly, I’m 21 and I was struggling with how to make these. I’ve only tried once and it didn’t go very well, so we’re going to try again, but it definitely isn’t for a child to do on their own.

    Didn’t fizz in bath

Bummed by this product. My 7 year old was very excited. It was too hard for her to do on her own, which was fine, I helped out. Hard to use the mold and it stuck to the bath bomb. Wait Ed 5 days to dry and she used in bath and it was a muddy brown and no fizz in water. She was very disappointed.

Did not workout as well as I expected! FLAT!

I was planning on enjoying this project with my 3 year old daughter. I would not recommend this as a toddler project, there are instructions for smooshing the bombs for 5 mins. continuously before putting them in the mold. This factor alone was a deterrent for her. She lost interest and I had to make them all, but obviously did it wrong because they turned out terrible (as pictured). I will not buy again, the same brand of soap is a much better product / project.

the directions could be a bit better

I liked the fact that it came with a book, but the book was a little unclear on exactly how to make each project. It was fun but we must have done it incorrectly as it fell apart when we removed it from the mold.

    Bath bombs

It was a fun activity kit. My kids really enjoyed making them. However, it was a little tricky to get the right consistency to get them to form correctly.

Great fun to make although they don’t turn out perfect!

Our girls loved this! We made one a day and couldn’t wait the 4 days for them to dry completely – had to fizz up the bath that day! Ours didn’t turn out as pretty as the pictures of course but our girls didn’t mind. Wish there had been more supplies to make more – we made 10.

you can just buy all this stuff and make these easily without a kit.

This was a fun project to do with my daughter…. she really liked it but…. we can easily color baking soda and get these ingredients. Getting this kit was pretty unnecessary. Still, it was a nice gift…. she was really happy about it.

Fun but a lot of work

My daughter loved this kit! It was definitely a project though… not for any kid under 10 I would say. And you need to use the bath bombs quick or they will begin to disintegrate

    Disappointed

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter and she was so excited to receive it after wanting it for months although when she tried it she was very disappointed, for the bath bombs were very time consuming to make and crumble super easily, the bath bombs do fizz but I wouldn’t recommend these but don’t let this one review stop you from purchase if these yourself it is just our opinion, your opinion may be completely different

Very Cool Product! But the bath bombs themselves fell apart. 🙁

I love the whole idea in itself! DIY is so much fun!Yet, with this product, it didn’t exactly work out. While you do get everything you need the make them, you don’t get very much! The bombs themselves are so small! Also, the bath bomb recipe needs tweaking as the bath bombs my daughter made fell apart! So overall, I’m only giving this product three stars. It’s a great idea, but not a great turn out.

    Fun kit!

Great kit! Only annoyance was that it wasn’t great for my 4 year old. He struggled to stay focused and mix up the ingredients because the recipes require different colors. Would be fabulous for older children.

    Well-made kit, would recommend.

This is a good kit. We love crafts and have tried a lot of kits, some of which are cheap and not very fun. However this kit was informative, challenging enough for young kids without being inaccessible, and the resulting bath bombs work well. I would recommend it.

    Great pack! But…

My daughter and I were really excited to create our own bath bombs and the product is awesome and a real treat! But, the package included only 2 colours, the red was missing…we can’t create more than half of the ideas in the guide book, that’s a bumber…Turned to Klutz via facebook, no reaction…a bit disappointed. Other than that, a great and fun creative pack!

It was fun to make with my kids . She’s 9,7 and 6. But the bath bombs itself fall apart very easily . Kind of disappointed. The ball one didn’t work at all And we were only able to make maybe 5 bombs Not 12 like the box says . Followed directions and did proper measurements. Cute gift tho

    Love it

I got this for my daughter for Christmas. So cute and the bath bombs worked great that we made. We kept ours in the fridge until we used them because it’s been humid and raining and the directions recommend to do so if it’s himid. They fizzed a lot in the tub and turned the water pretty colors. Very happy with this purchase.

Smells good and loves the DIY and over all loves bath bombs. She didn’t say she had any problems with this product so far and since it was a gift I can’t really say what there is to dislike anything about it.So it’s a perfect gift idea for pre teens they start getting into beauty and stuff.

    Perfect gift!

My daughter loves bath bombs. She also loves crafts, but doesn’t have patience for more than a few steps. This was like combining the best of both worlds. All ingredients included with clear instructions. Simple enough for older kids to do by themselves and younger kids with parents supervision. Very little mess too!

Great gift for a young person

This is a cool gift for kids who like to take baths or kids that are interested in science (BONUS if they like both).Parents may need to assist, especially if they don’t want their bath towels turning colors from the colored baking sodas little hands will wipe off on the nearest plush towel.Making each bath bomb takes much longer than how long it takes to use it. It’s all about the process but the result is fun, too!

Quick and easy project for anyone who loves Bath Bombs.

This was a Christmas Gift for my daughter. The first day she made one she wanted to use it that night. It did fizz a lot and smelled nice, but it did break apart quickly. So although you can use them right away we found that waiting a day and letting them set up in the refrigerator was best. They are easy to make and comes with everything you need to make them.

Makes up to 12??? YEAH RIGHT! Not even close!

Yes the kit comes with everything you need. & the instruction book is great & full of fun ideas. We made a few with our daughter & we were able to make 6 bombs before running out of citric acid. We still have a little bit of red & yellow baking soda, but even that wouldn’t be enough for another 2 bath bombs.(Yes I’m using the correct measurements, my husband & I triple checked when we realized we were ruling low)It’s extremely misleading & very frustrating. Better off just buying some everything you need separately if you want to make enough to enjoy.

    DID NOT WORK

Probably the worst DIY Bath Bomb kit I have ever bought. I had bought this as a Christmas gift but quickly found out that the bath bombs did not work. The directions were unclear, the bath bombs would not stay together even after putting them in the freezer overnight. The bath bombs would fizzle and that’s it. The color stained skin and the bath tub.

Turned into a puddle instead of drying

Too complicated for kids. Has to be mostly done by an adult. I measured out everything correctly and molded them nicely. They were looking good. Tells you to let them dry for up to 4 days. Within 24 hours they all lost their shape and turned into a puddle on a paper plate.

    Instructions are not clear enough

You have to open the package to find out what you’ll need, so if you’re planning on using it randomly, make sure you read the whole thing first because you’ll probably need to go buy some things listed there. Also the instructions on how to mix the glycerin in are not clear because they are only listed for each project, but when we were preparing the colors of the rainbow for our project, it didn’t say how much glycerin to add per tsp of colored baking soda, so the final product didn’t work and we made a huge mess for nothing. Another one of my students said she also got the same kit and had the same problem, so it’s not just me.

I brought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. I helped her make the bath bombs and my biggest issue was not all the would “dry” so they could be used. However, she did have fun making them and the ones that did not dry she was still able to use the crumbs I her bath.
