Not a winter coat of you live north.
Nice coat but there is no removable lining in this coat. The hood comes out that is attached to the zipper. (See picture). To keep warm with this coat I will buy a vest.

Comfortable, Looks Great, not a real hoodie.
this jacket i feel actually should get a review because, well… its comfortable as heck. when i first put it on i wanted to wear it all day. and no i have no idea why. its good to note as well, that i was wearing it in 45 degree weather while it was pouring rain, and i felt great.my only complaint is that the hoodie portion, is just that, its just a sip off hood. would have been nice to have the whole hoodie to add/remove, but again the thing is comfy so maybe i’m fine with this in the long run.-Thanks!

Just the perfect jacket for the Alaskan Spring and Fall!
I recently purchased the Legendary Whitetails Men’s Rugged Full Zip Dakota Jacket and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed! This jacket deserves a 5-star review for its exceptional quality, durability, and style. The first thing that caught my attention was the material. The jacket is made with a high-quality, heavyweight cotton canvas that feels incredibly sturdy and well-made. I have no doubt that this jacket will last me for years to come, even with regular wear and tear. The fit of the jacket is also perfect. It’s not too loose or too tight, and the sleeves are just the right length. The full zip design makes it easy to put on and take off, and the collar is the perfect height to keep my neck warm on chilly days.Another feature I love about this jacket is the number of pockets. There are plenty of pockets to store my phone, wallet, keys, and other essentials. The pockets are also deep enough to keep my belongings secure and prevent them from falling out.Lastly, the style of this jacket is impeccable. The rustic, rugged look is perfect for outdoor activities like hiking or camping, but it’s also stylish enough to wear casually with jeans or khakis. The attention to detail on this jacket is impressive, from the stitching to the zipper pulls.Overall, I highly recommend the Legendary Whitetails Men’s Rugged Full Zip Dakota Jacket to anyone looking for a high-quality, durable, and stylish jacket. The material is top-notch, and the attention to detail is second to none. I’m already planning on purchasing another one in a different color!

I am not a fan of the fake sweatshirt zippered right behind the main zipper.
The funny zip in/out 1/4 sweatshirt thing doesn’t really work for me. To make it worse, the quality of the zipper for the main front is not very good compared to other Whitetails I have tried. There are no snaps in front at all. I find that for Whitetails I can fit an M sometimes, usually fit well in L or LT, and sometimes fit in XL best. This one is not available in L at the moment, so I tried M.For me in M this is a little tight under the arms and around the chest. I have a vest of theirs in M which fits perfectly, I think this in size L would likely fit me OK (or LT), but the zipper thing seems superfluous and does not work for me.

Questionable Quality
I’ve bought a lot of LW apparel in the past and really liked the quality. However this jacket is lacking in that regard. The stitching is really bad. You can see that whoever did it went over the same spot a couple of times. Some of the stitches in the front has started to come off. Not sure how this passed QA… maybe there is none. For the price I was expecting better quality. Just a friendly advise, check the jacket first when you receive it. I would’ve returned mine but had to leave the next day I got it and had to take the jacket with me. The jacket is plenty warm, wore it in -10 degree weather with decent layers it kept me nice and warm.

REALLY nice jacket
I needed a nice warm work jacket for my husband so I went with all the reviews and got this. It is so well made, I think it will last a while even while using it to work outside. The inner zip jacket is kind of weird to me, and I think it would be even better without that. I get the look they were going for, but I would really like a heavier jacket like this but without that part in there. Overall would recommend, it’s an excellent value for your money.

i really enjoy it
i bought this jacket cause i loved the layout of it and style. and got a size smaller than i needed cause ive been on a weight loss kick dropped 60lbs this year so its motivation to help lose more. i am currently 6’2″ 328lbs and i was able to zip it up i was shocked it was kinda tight but didnt need to suck in the ol’ gut to do it, however i did look better with gut sucked in while wearing it LMAO. the length of sleeves and torso are perfect. i assume i drop at least another 20 it will fit even better. only complaint i have is i got the tarmac grey one and it was a little shiney than i expected but really not a big deal to me im sure a few washes would fix that. even being a little tight it was still comfortable. igave it 3 stars on all but comfort becuase i have not had it that long, but like all legendary whitetail clothing i get its been lasting for 5yrs so far.

Great jacket— definitely used, smelled of cheap cologne
We love the coat from Legendary Whitetails, but the exchange we received was MOST DEFINITELY worn by another person. There were no tags and it smells of a cheap cologne, the person bathed in it and then wore the coat and turned it back into Amazon. It’s in our garage airing out because the scent is so strong.

Nope:(
My husband picked this coat out after I showed him the options here on Amazon. He’s 6’ 170 lbs, generally wears size L so that’s what he insisted I order. Got the brown version. (what we received doesn’t look like the Amazon picture, the color is more like well-worn charcoal,-the only thing that’s brown on this jacket is the thread detailing,. see my attached pics). The pics included were taken right out of the sack fyi.He wanted a warm coat for working in his garage, so didn’t necessarily buy it for dressier occasions (good thing). My first impression out of the package was “that cost $100???“It appears ‘weathered’, much like I remember my dad’s old ranch coats looking after being worn & washed for years. Amazon description reads: ‘rugged’, so we got that,He likes the fit right out of the sack. He’s picky about the fit of his coats, they can’t be too long, cause he hates having to pull & wrestle with it whilst getting in & out of vehicles, so if he’s able to sit on it, he wont wear it, so fit-wise, its great right out of the gate, however it probably won’t be after washing. This is his fault for not liking to size up.He doesn’t like the looks of those puffy looking coats with all the seams in them, even though they are usually warm, & as I mentioned, he doesn’t like to sit on them, which also rules out most of the winter parka types of coats, plus, he hates hoods,- but this one detaches so all good there. There didn’t seem to be many options on here after weeding out all his dislikes,- hence, the reason we ended up with this coat.We mistakenly assumed though, (and hoped, in spite of a few reviews to the contrary), for what it costs, it would be fairly warm as a redeeming quality, but nope. This is a jacket at best, and definitely not a $100 one, based on appearance/warmth. Its more like a $35 jacket,- tops. Our local thrift storehouse has nicer jackets than this for <$15.Halloween night he wore it, he was only out for about an hour & half, temp got down to 40 degrees, he wore a tee shirt, denim shirt over that, another heavy fleece jacket type of shirt over that, then this coat over all, and he was cold.I’ve never heard of this brand, but it must be what your paying for, because its just not worth $100 by any stretch of the imagination in our opinion.bottom line: for the price we paid, we wouldn’t buy again or recommend to others. 266 people found this helpful

I LOVE the look and feel of this jacket!
I bought this jacket for my husband to wear on cool fall/spring days. It is lightly insulated, so definitely not a winter coat. I bought the tobacco version, which is a dark brown. The shell has a distressed look, almost like a waxed canvas, which gives this a relaxed, sexy vibe. There is a removable drawstring hood and trim that zips in place and is easy to remove and replace. Both inside pockets are on the left, and are large enough to hold medium sized items like extra mags, pens, or a cell phone. My husband is 6′ with a slender build, and wears this in a medium. The sleeve length is just under 34″, so it comes down past his wrist, which means everything is covered if he is wearing gloves. The bottom of the jacket sits just below his waist, so he is able to wear it while sitting without it bunching up.Bottom line: You are definitely paying a little extra for the brand, but I love how this jacket looks on my husband, and its so comfortable that I will wear it myself when I’m going for a walk or running a quick errand.

Not worth the price
I really wanted to like this jacket. The first wash on “delicate” setting and the outer zipper is nonfunctional.Tried again. The second jacket survived two washes before the zipper broke and holes began to form in both front exterior pockets.

Looks great, but zipper for holding the hood sucks
Maybe I just got a faulty one and I got to return it, but, I wanted to see what it looks like without the hood so I unzipped it and all, went to go zip it back again… Zipper comes undone no matter what I do. Now it’s stuck and I can’t get it off.

Exactly as I expected, very nice jacket
EDIT: The zipper broke on this jacket, so I can’t wear it any longer. It had gotten stuck and pulled some teeth out. A real shame because I loved the size/warmth of this jacket.I am 6’1″ and weigh about 220lbs. I am also cursed with long arms. That being said, anything standard XL size is usually too wide on the chest and too short on the sleeves. It’s hard to find a jacket that fits well in all the right places. I usually have to buy a XXL jacket just to be comfortable. But when I saw this jacket, saw it had an XLT size, and it looked to be my style, I decided to order it.I was looking for more of a “rugged” fall/spring jacket that I can wear outside on these cold Wisconsin mornings or for standing around a fire pit at night, or going on a walk or a hike. This jacket is perfect for said activities. The layered look and included hood are nice extras. The materials are nice quality – not too warm, but heavy enough to keep me comfortable. The front pockets are deep and keep my hands warm. The inside pockets are perfect for keeping my wallet or phone.Overall I am very happy with this jacket. I suggest anyone looking into buying one to give it a try. The only thing I wish it had was a pull string along the bottom to cinch the end of the jacket in a bit, but this is a very minor thing.

The sleeves are too long!
Let me start by saying I’ve bought this jacket twice. The 1st time was a few years ago and I loved the jacket so much I took it to a tailor to have the sleeves fixed since they were too long and went to my knuckles and they made them WAY too short. I went to buy another from Amazon and they were unavailable and didn’t know when more were coming. I just happened to check a few weeks ago and it was back! Imagine my surprise. As I ordered I was hoping the delay in getting this back in stock was due to correcting the sleeve issue. Unfortunately not. As I mentioned before I love the look and feel of this jacket so I took it to a local leather repair shop and he said he could add a new button to make the sleeves tighter around my wrist so it wouldn’t ride down so far. Guess what? He messed my jacket up too. The button was put on the top of my wrist and made it look hideous and now the button he use couldn’t be used on the original snaps either. In desperation I saw the Large jacket supposedly had shorter sleeves. I didn’t think it would fit around my body since I’m stocky but I just wanted to test the sleeves. Guess what? The sleeves were around the same length. I’m so disappointed. The low review is solely due to the sleeve length. In all other aspects this is a great jacket. I’m out a couple hundred bucks so please learn from my mistakes. Use Amazon’s Try before you Buy.

Comfy but big
Heavy Materials. Really Comfortable, but it runs a little big in the arms. The wrists button down a size but look a little wonky if you’ve got small wrists like me. I have an athletic build, so I had to size up a bit for my chest and shoulders to fit comfortably, but that left it a little loose in the wrists area.

Good quality, stylish, warm jacket
I like the way the medium fit my chest but the sleeves were too short, as was the shoulders. The large is a bit big around the chest but the shoulders and sleeves are perfect. The hood is a nice addition that you can easily remove if not needed but doesn’t get in your way or detract from the style. I wear this thing all the time and I am very pleased with it. The biggest issue I have had with this jacket is that the pockets came unstitched. Very annoying but easy to fix with minimal sewing skills and a little bit of time. Otherwise love this thing and wear it all the time.

WARM
The jacket looks simple. Doesn’t look overly stylish. But, OMG, it’s warm. Deceptively warm. When I first got it I didn’t think it was going to keep me as warm as all those puffy jackets I’ve been wearing over the years nor was it going to be as warm as those scratchy wool jackets. It’s super comfortable on the first day. Granted it is no longer as cold as it used to be in the 80s and 90s but still there are a few cold days over the winter and this jacket handled it perfectly. I was surprised and impressed. And it doesn’t look half bad as far as style goes. I prefer stylish jackets but for practicality purposes, this jacket is perfect.

It actually fits!
I’m 6’8” tall and I have long arms even for my height and this jacket fits! Usually for me to have a chance of a jacket fitting I have to get it in “tall” and two sizes too big so the shoulders are to wide and hang down onto my arms some to help make the sleeves long enough. But with this jacket the shoulders are where they belong and the sleeves are still plenty long enough. It is also well fitting everywhere else, comfortable and well make. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asked.

Comfort & VERY Warm until stitches came apart 3 months worn.
I love this jacket. I’ll get another one. I’ll learn to keep certain heavy items out of the inside pockets because they will start to unravel the stitching. Also little holes kept popping up through the inner lining causing tufts of the insulation to pop throug them causing little white whisps which catch on whatever shirt I am wearing and pulling out ever so slightly over time. There hasn’t been a more comfortable and WARM jacket I’ve ever owned. The removable hoodie really kept my shaved head warm when it’s wet or simply cold outside. The soft feel of the outer shell is pleasant to the touch. The zippers work absolutely flawlessly. After using needle and thread to repair 2-3 locations where the stitching has come apart I’ve noticed 2 more places after washing / drying this jacket in cold water / low heat.I’ll keep it for my ‘dont care if it gets dirty’ jacket and purchase another one to look snappy. This purchase made me happy and even happier since I know how to sew. Your mileage may vary.

Get one size smaller. Also, the jacket is very thin but looks great.
I originally bought the X-Large because all of my jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, and t-shirts are similarly X-Large. But when I received the jacket, it just felt and looked too loose and baggy on me. I felt that it needed to be 2″ narrower in the chest and waist, but the Large was 4″ narrower in the chest and waist. So I was scared to order the Large. But I did, and I’m happy with the Large size. The jacket is very thin. It’s almost as thin as the $90 Legendary Whitetails Shirt Jacket. If the jacket was a little thicker, I would give it five stars. I feel like even if I layer up with a tank top, t-shirt, and long sleeve shirt that I would be taking a big risk of being too cold if I walked outside with this jacket on when the weather is 30-35 degrees. Which means in Fall, I would only get to wear this jacket like one week before it gets too cold for it. I would have gladly paid another $20-30 for a jacket that looked just like this but was thicker and more padded. I’d rather the jacket be too warm and just wear a t-shirt underneath than a jacket that is too thin and causes me to be cold even with three shirts underneath. The first jacket that I bought had four dark brown sticky spots inside the hood that looked like the would be permanent blemishes even if the sticky residue were to be removed. Luckily, the second jacket didn’t have that defect.Appearance wise, when I had the X-Large, I thought that the jacket looked boring and ugly without the contrasting light brown hoodie. But now that I have the better fitting Large size, I can say that the jacket looks good without the hoodie. The jacket has contrast stitching which was a really good design choice. I wish that makers of brown baseball caps did the same thing, but most don’t use contrast stitching. The jacket is comfortable to wear. And I like how my hands feel in the front side pockets. And I wouldn’t have ordered it if it was a button up. Good thing that it is a zip up. I saw a lot of negative reviews that complained about the stitching and seams falling apart, especially in the armpit area. I hope that doesn’t happen to me. I don’t go out much and I don’t plan on washing it in the washer machine, so I would think that it will last me a long time. $110 might be a decent price as far as how the jacket looks (I thought that the Legendary Whitetails Shirt Jacket being $90 was too expensive), but I would have been happier if the jacket was thicker. I could have easily bought some thick jackets for around $50 but they didn’t look as nice, so that was why I was hesitant to buy them. But yeah, this jacket would have received a 5 star rating instead of 3 stars even it wasn’t so thin.

Really wanted to like it more than I do…
OK, so after wearing it a bit I have to say I really think its just a jacket that walks in the middle too much and gets stuck not really knowing itself. The cut is great and the dark brown (chocolate?) color walks the line perfectly between “light enough for everyday wear, but dark enough for date night”. What’s more that zippered hoodie helps push the style whichever way you need…keep it on for a more casual look, take it off to dress it up a bit.Unfortunately, everything else just keeps missing by the barest bit.The waxed cotton outter looks great at a distance, but the material just doesn’t look as good up close. It doesnt have the same quality as something going for a “nicer” look and it doesnt have the rough textured build of something that speaks to a truly practical nature. This means you are tempting the disappointment fairy if you were it on date night (“oh that looks….not that great…”), but on the other hand, the material is definitely not rugged enough for actual work use (ironic considering the name). If you actually had to carry wood, a bail of hay, or god forbid wire, I just dont see it holding up.The coat has some thickness to it, but its definitely not a cold weather coat. I run hot and I’d say this is perfectly fine for temperatures in the 50’s (F) with moderate wind and low / no precipitation. If you plan to wear it on colder temps you definitely need to layer it.Pockets….oof are these things rage inducing. The two outside hand pockets have aggressively large openings with the bottom of the pocket being wider than the top and a very shallow angle. Result is absolutely nothing feels secure in the pockets except maybe large gloves stuffed into them. In the end, they are certainly not bad, but they seem worse than they are because of the other pockets….The upper left chest pocket is the only pocket with a zipper. It has a surprisingly deep (bottoms out below the pectoral muscle) and narrow pocket. This means anything you put in it will probably dig into your cheat and /or stick out, and be frustratingly difficult to remove for anyone that has anything larger than moderate sized hands. The inside pockets are both on the left side. For a righty like me, that didn’t at first seem like a bad thing (more on that later), but if you’re a lefty I can only imagine its a pain to find that out after purchase. Both the pockets are as narrow as the chest pocket, with the top pocket being rather short (maybe the size of a bifold wallet) while the bottom inside pocket is closer to 6 inches long so once again, anything that goes into it becomes a pain to fish out unless you have small hands. With neither having zipper / securing apparatus you have to choose between dropping something in a pocket that doesn’t feel secure or knowing you’ll have to contort your hand into a claw to remove the item. Finally to those keeping track, this jacket has 4 of its 5 pockets on the left side. Once again, lefty’s be ware, but also if you do fill all the pockets I can only imagine the coat wearing awkwardly. In the end, if you’re looking for a somewhat flexible urban casual coat to wear in the 50’s (F) and dont actually need pockets…I think its actually pretty decent. I think if it dealt with some of the items I mentioned, it’d be amazing. As it is, just doesn’t suit me.

Loved it till the stitches came out
Great coat very comfortable till the stitching came out in the pockets. Less than a week off wearing the stitching in the pocket came undone. It is a thin light weight material in the pockets that probably wouldn’t have held up long anyway. I work outside and the coat was going to be used as well as the pockets. It was good all except for that. Comfortable, just warm enough if they had only used the same material as the outer shell to line the pockets and better stitching. Shame really I liked it.

Disappointing – not an actual waxed canvas trucker jacket
For the price, and given the average review, I expected this jacket to be as advertised. It is not. The jacket looks nice and is comfortable, but I’m an actual trucker. I don’t believe this jacket will see a 2nd winter. The outer shell is a thin cotton/poly blend that has a sheen similar to waxed canvas, but does not seem nearly as durable, nor will it acquire the patina that real waxed canvas does with wear. The liner is a quilted polyester material with not much insulation inside. For posers that want the look of a waxed trucker jacket, but never work outdoors in winter weather, this jacket will probably be fine. I would have sent this back for a refund if I had more time before going back on the road.

What is this?
I had been sitting and waiting on this jacket to be back in stock, close to 2 years. When I saw it was back I jumped all over it. I was a little shocked when I opended it to see that the material of the outer jacket wasn’t as rugged or denim as I had thought. It was more of a faux suede material. It also was a little shorter than I anticipated. I was 6ft 205- 210 when I got it and it fit true to size for the most part. I ordered a large. The look of it is exactly what I want with the hoodie inside. It just wasn’t the quality that I was anticipating. Seems warm enough and light weight. Will probably be a solid fall hiking coat.

I absolutely love this jacket
My jacket is XL and it’s Tobacco Brown. I’m 6’1″ tall and weigh 195 pounds and I live in South Florida. I wrote that so it may help someone with deciding what size to choose when buying this jacket. It fits A1 perfectly in every way except the sleeves are a bit long. But 12 dollars at my tailor shop fixed that. Ok, now the jacket itself. I love everything about it. The material looks and feels like a jacket that sells for 3 or 4 times the amount I paid. The hoodie insert will work perfectly for the few chilly days we have here. The insert removes very easily and voila: It becomes my very favorite casual jacket hanging in my closet. i don’t understand the complaints about pockets because on my jacket the outer hand warmer pockets are deep and substantial. The upper zipper pocket perfectly holds my Hide & Drink card holder wallet and it’s far more secure there than in my jeans pocket. Summed up I just love this jacket. I have no affiliation with the company that makes this jacket or the seller of it so I can affirm this is the best jacket deal I have ever seen on Amazon. He loves his jacket and it keeps him warm!
We have looked at this jacket for 2 years and not gotten it so this year I went for it. Working nights in 0 degree F snow and wind gets cold. He said this jacket keeps the wind off and kept him warm. It has a coating on the material so the cat hair doesn’t stick to it. (A must for animal owners lol) He really likes that it’s super easy to zip off the hooded part. Without it the jacket is dressier. He really liked the look of the hood on this one and had worn it off more than on. He said he feels more put together. It’s really like 2 completely different looks. Anyway, if your on the fence like we were give it a try. I think you’ll love it too!

Order a size up, and try to get it on sale
It’s a bit smaller compared to similar products, and the quality isn’t what you’d expect for the albeit low price. It’s not terrible, but try to find it on sale if you’re sold on it.

Fine Outerwear
This is a lightweight yet incredibly warm, dare I say “cozy”, jacket with a soft quilted lining and a substantial zip-out cotton hood and dickie with its own zipper. The outer shell is supple, not artifial- or plastic-feeling, with a soft matte finish. It probably is not waterproof, but it does shed light rain satisfactorily. The collar is well-shaped, neither too narrow nor too wide, and functional for warmth around the neck. The hood is interior to the collar and, when not worn up as a hood, functions as an additional neck-warmer. There are no drafts in this jacket, and you will not need an additional scarf or muffler. The thing I most appreciate about it is the structure and fit. It strikes the perfect balance between substantial and streamlined — i.e., I do not feel like I am wearing a santa-suit in it. Its lines are clean and straight from shoulder to hip.I did not rate for durability because I haven’t worn the jacket enough to know, but it gives every sign of being a long-lasting garment.
