Cute set, but could use some improvements.
Overall, it’s a cute set and my son loves it. BUT…The fire extinguisher has no moving parts, except the top unscrews (like…what for?). It would’ve been great if kids could squeeze the lever. And then the megaphone doesn’t actually have megaphone/voice projection qualities, but instead plays an obnoxiously loud siren sound. Needless to say, the batteries got taken out of that.Like I said, cute set, and my toddler loves it, but I think those small details would have made a huge difference.

Winner for all the young aspiring firefighters
My 4 year old son loves this outfit! It surpassed my expectations with the details. It includes a name card where his name and photo can be added to give a genuine name badge feel. The other accessories included are also well made. He loves that he can add water to the spray bottle to “fight fires” and “give stern instructions to the crowd” in his pretend play with the included bullhorn that actually projects your voice like a real bullhorn (AA batteries not included). He paired this with a pair of black pants and didn’t want to take it off! The way it fits this outfit should last until he is 5, and he is big for his age (wears 5T comfortably and 6T without looking like he is being swallowed in clothes).

Material of the costume is good, a hat is sturdy.
I bought this for firetruck themed birthday party. My son who is three years old and average height fits well in this.I liked this as a mom. Material of the costume is thick and sturdy. Fireman hat is made with sturdy plastic.But my kid finds it’s little hot for the summer. He sweats a lot when he is in it. I had to lower the ac when he puts on costume.

Kiddo wears it all of the time
Our two year old opened this on his birthday, put it on + helmet, and could have cared less about opening up any other gifts. He LOVES it and pretends in in all of the time! The day he got it – he wore it to church, brunch, etc. He wouldn’t take it off. Great gift! The accessories it comes with are great!

Bullhorn a disappointment
The bullhorn should be a mic not a siren. Very annoying to hear. The batteries will be removed soon. 😂. The coat is very well made. The fire extinguisher is sad. I noticed the spout had a hole in it so I unscrewed the cap and put water in it. I squeezed the bottle and water went everywhere…….so it is useless for squirting water. I would have paid more to have an improved bullhorn and fire extinguisher.

I bought the UPS Delivery guy and the Fireman options for my 2 and 3 YO grandsons. As it happened, the 3YO was wearing his outfit when UPS dropped something at the door…the delivery guy got quite a chuckle!Both items are solid quality and come with some pretty nice accoutrements!I’ll be getting some other options soon!

Bought this for my 3 year old grandson for Christmas so can’t comment on the sizing as some others have. I do love the quality of the hat and jacket – so cute! The fire extinguisher is suppose to squirt water but that doesn’t seem possible and maybe that’s ok, lol.

Amazing gift for preschoolers
Sure, the jacket is oversized but still not a problem for my very small 3 year old grand. The jacket will last forever, the hat is adjustable so it will stay on! And the accessories are kid sizes but realistic. Lots of pretend play all weekend. Including getting told to get out of the house many times!! This is one of those things that will be used for several years. Imagination comes alive!!

Quality is there but a little smaller than expected. If you have a larger toddler you may want to consider a different option. Helmet did not stay on well even after adjusting, toddler ended up taking it off for Trick or Treating.

Jacket washes great!
I bought this for my son for Halloween and he became obsessed. To the point he wears the jacket every single day! Luckily it washes up great (removing papers and badge) in the washing machine! Definitely would recommend for the toddlers in your life!

My son was so happy to have firefighting gear like day( although it is not an accurate replica of the real stuff)The mega phone doesn’t project voices or you can’t talk through it, but rather it just makes siren noise. But the batteries are removable 🤣

High quality
The jacket is high quality as opposed to others we’ve looked at.My two nephews wore for a party and they loved it – the bull horn, extinguisher and helmet make for a complete outfit. My nephews just turned 2 years old – 36in tall and the jackets are still quite large (down to knees) – recommended for older / taller children but still looked good nonetheless.

Well worth the Money!
This is so cute and well-made! Bought for my 2 1/2-year-old Grandson. It’s slightly big right now and hangs to his knees. LOL! He doesn’t care. We added a chin strap, to keep the hat from falling off his head. With a little sleeve rolling he looks adorable! He loves the bullhorn! Well worth the money!!

Packaging not Gift Worthy
While the quality is good the box arrived all beat up and there was not a standard box inside it, just the items. I wish I knew that before and I’d have picked a different set. I can’t wrap this as it is for my grandson’s birthday. Not sure yet if I’ll return it or figure some way to put it in another box or bag.

Some reviews made me skeptical, but I’m so glad I ordered this product! I’ve never been disappointed with Melissa and Doug! The jacket is great quality and fit my son perfectly (he’s 44” tall and weighs 43 lbs). The hat was easy to adjust and fit well. We had no problems with it coming unfastened or anything. The accessories are well made and my son loves them. We got this as a costume for trunk or treat, but he has already been wearing it around the house. It’s perfect for role play. Also, the price was great!! No regrets!

Nice Fire Chief Costume
We love the Melissa and Doug brand and have lots of their products. This costume seemed sturdy enough and the accessories will be incorporated into everyday imaginative play. I took off 1 star because it was a smaller fit for my 90th percentile 5 year old. The fireman’s jacket definitely will not fit him beyond this year…which us fine but just wanted everyone to know that it may not be a great option for bigger kids.

Average Quality, No storage case
This item is of low/average quality, which is to say, below what I would expect for melissa & doug. Just made in China, plastic stuff. Also, the various costume pieces arrive all loose in the box, and there is no carrying/storage item included to keep the pieces together. As I bought as a gift, I wasn’t going to hand over a bunch of loose plastic items, so I ultimately separately purchased a coordinating bag. Just not worth the melissa & doug markup.

Great Costume
I purchased this for my firefighter fan (age 3.5) as a Halloween costume. It was a perfect fit and he loved it! The hooks to carry the extra items aren’t particularly practical as they swing in front of the child’s legs, but he simply carried the megaphone in his hand. I especially like the megaphone because it is loud enough to have that wow effect for kids, but not so loud as to drive adults insane 😉 I just wish they had the coat in more sizes as it will be a tight fit this year.

After watching “Vehicles” by Ms. Rachel for the 50th time and listening to the “Firetruck” song I decided it’s time to just get her a helmet.. so she can “put on your (her) helmet” with Rachel, Blippi, and Meekah. The helmet fits great. Love the other accessories too.
