    It’s a Gift for someone…

    It’s colorful, cute and appears to be well made but the handle looks a little too short for a comfortable grip. This will be a gift for someone else so I’m not at ease reviewing a product I haven’t personally used. This is why I gave it a 4 star and I’m basing it on all of the other well made Ototo kitchen tools I’ve bought here before.

    Great knife but it needs a protective sleeve. I really don’t want this floating around a drawer, it’s quite sharp.

    Novelty Item

    This is a very cute cheese knife that is perfect for gnome lovers. That being said, this is very much a novelty gift, as I have never seen a duller knife upon arrival. It sharpened okay, but that was an extra step that you don’t really expect to take for a brand new knife. It’s also quite awkward to hold, so I wouldn’t buy this if you expect functional rather than novel.

    Cute, not super sharp

    exactly as advertised, but you could probably sharpen the blade. Sometimes it’s nice not to have every blade be extra sharp though, so you don’t worry about being a clutz and nicking your fingers.

    Great addition to your kitchen!

    Very cute little cheese knife! It’s a little bit hard to hold because of the shape, however with proper downward pressure you can still get through harder cheeses. Also, a little difficult to find a spot in the kitchen for this and it does not really fit in a knife block well but it does go very well with the other OTOTO items. Definitely a little form over function on this one.

    Cut but not very functional

    First off this needs a cover. I don’t feel safe having it out standing on the counter, so he is hanging on the knife magnet. It is very difficult to cut with either it is not sharp enough or the blade is far too thick. It IS very cute and adds something special to the kitchen/table

    Cute but not useful

    He gets 2 stars for being adorable but other than that he didn’t work well. My regular knives work better for cutting cheese than this guy. I’ve tried all kinds of different cheeses. He makes all of them more difficult to cut than a regular knife. Too dull, handle is awkward.

    Fell apart

    I did a quick hand wash on this little guy after receiving it. The first time I used it, the knife fell apart. I guess I can glue it back together, but I shouldn’t have to!

    Cute but not a great knife

    My husband bought this for me as a birthday gift and it is so adorable. With that being said it is awful as a knife. Of course it is easy to clean but the grip on the knife is not great. For someone who actually cooks a lot this is not a great option. I would not give this as a gift to someone that cooks all the time, it’s more for looking cute than being used as a knife.

    Adorable Gnome knife – makes a GREAT gift!

    Got this as a gift for family members. They absolutely LOVED it! I thought it was adorable when I received it, too. I may order another for myself! I would definitely order this again for gifts or for entertaining guests. Great price for a decent & festive product, too! It’s nice & sharp while being durable but not TOO heavy, which is nice.

    Blade edge dangerously close to tiny body/handle

    So cute, but the knife edge is at a dangerous place by the handle. The body is really small and awkward to grip safely. Recommend using extra care when using it. I have small hands, someone with largwr hands probably would have even more difficulty holding it safely.

    Doesn’t work

    I gave this an extra star because it is the cutest cheese knife I have ever seen however I can’t use it because it just crumbles my cheese instead of slicing it. I had to go back to just using a regular kitchen knife. Maybe it works for very soft cheeses (perhaps that is all it is meant for?) but it ruins harder cheeses which is all I eat.

    Super-cute, but sharp!

    What a cute item! It is sharp, which is generally a good thing for a knife, but I really wish it came with some kind of blade protector, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. It makes storing complicated as I worry about someone slicing their finger trying to grab it or something around it in my kitchen drawer.

    Screams of delight Christmas Day!

    I gave this as a gift to my Swedish daughter in law who has all things gnome and a refrigerator dedicated to cheese. When she opened it she was beyond delighted to add this gnome to her cheese board. If you have a gnome obsessed person in your life, this is the one thing they won’t have.

    Cute little cheese buddy!

    This gnome is so cute! Is the knife the best cheese knife? No, not really. It’s awkward to hold and cut with and my knuckles hit the cutting board as I’m trying to slice through. But did I really expect it to be cute and functional? No, not really. Bert makes me smile and for that I love it. He stands guard over the charcuterie board as a noble knight.

    Another attack of OTOTO cuteness

    This is NOT dishwasher safe- so don’t ruin it by cleaning it that way. It’s easy to clean by just wiping the blade. I love that it is free standing- makes it more hygienic on picnic tables. All my friends love this little guy.
