Looks great, no more plugged up sinks
Fit perfectly into my kitchen sink. Looks like it was there from the start. Does a good job at keeping bits of food from going down the drain. My sink used to get plugged up, but no longer. Disposing the collected food in the strainer is pretty straight forward and easy. I just bring it over to our trash bin and bang it against the bin a few times to get the food to fall out. Sometimes bits of food will be stuck in the strainer’s holes. In that case I will run the strainer over some water to get everything to come out.Overall, happy with my purchase and would recommend.

I love this!
My sink strainer would constantly close when I was washing/peeling fruits and vegetables. Then I would have a sink full of floating peels and a mess to clean out trying to keep all the debris out of the drain (I don’t have a garbage disposal). The OXO strainer solved that issue!So easy to clean – just hold over garbage can and pop it inside out and everything flips right out. I love it so much I have given along with holiday kitchen towels as a gift for girlfriends! Everyone loves it!

Sink Saver!
This is my second one of these. It’s so great at it’s job! Only downside is after a couple years they start to get gross enough to need replacement. Maybe if I more thoroughly cleaned it more often it would have held up better. Would buy again!

Easy to empty
Works great! It’s nice not having to scrape the strainer in the garbage can. Just pop it out, a few taps on the inside of the can and you’re done. Very sturdy. Same item at box stores, but $3.00 to $4.00 more.

Been using for over 20 years!
These are the BEST! Whether you have a disposal or not, you want one of these so your spoons or other items don’t end up in the pipes or disposal and you end calling a plumber. I remember when my mom bought me one in Feb 2002 as a housewarming gift , over 20 YEARS AGO, when I bought my first place. I thought she was crazy, and gave me a crap gift, and couldn’t see what the big deal was. Within two days I figured out the big deal was. I have managed to use 2 of these to death (the silicone started separating from the metal and the pully thingy decided it wanted to be free) and just replaced it with a new one. Considering each one lasted about ten years, I’m okay with that. They trap everything and are easy to unload into the trashcan. Yes, they are dishwasher safe but honestly I generally just did a quick swipe with the dirty plate scrubber. Never had a issue with mold or mildew. Get one, you won’t be sorry.

Better than the metal strainers
Sink Strainers get pretty yucky and cleaning isn’t easy. This one is metal based to sit on top the sink and the strainer part is silicone and can be inverted to clean more easily. Catches food and crumbs but the holes are large enough that water doesn’t back up. Note this does not act as a stopper so if that’s what you need keep looking. But if you want an easy to clean strainer this is the best one I’ve found.

Another winner from OXO
I have never been disappointed with an OXO product. Sometimes they are remarkable, sometimes “merely” functional, but always have been worth the cost. These were purchased to replace “replacement” after market sink strainers that spouse bought for an old sink that was in the kitchen when house was purchased. The aftermarket strainers were letting small pieces of food go down the drain, although they were adjustable to allow water to fill the sink if a dish needed soaking. After having to clean the p-trap one time too many, I tried these. They simply sit on top of the existing sink drain, but cover the drain completely so that it appears there is a brushed stainless sink drain with black strainers. They catch every little piece of food from the dishes, remove easily, and the black plastic inverts smoothly for easy clean up. The only thing they do NOT do is stop up the water in the sink if you want to soak a dish, but that is relatively rare in our house. I did keep the old strainers in case I really really wanted to fill the sink, but have not so far. We have plans to renovate the kitchen and will replace the sink and strainers at that time, but meanwhile these are workhorses.

I know it’s just a drain cup…
I know this is just a drain cup.. your basic household item..but it fits snug with the metal surroundings & the silicon trap does the trick better than any others I have had..most are flimsy & get grimy

Does the job and lasts pretty long
I last ordered this item in December 2020. It’s a great product that does what it should. I am just now ordering another because my old one is falling apart, but for a drain strainer that I use a ton and clean frequently, and for the price, I think that’s pretty good.

Works as described
Kitchen sink strainer which works remarkably well, cleans easily, does not require any special brush for cleaning, most of the gunk just pops out. To replace one from a popular eco friendly collaboration subscription, which was a light green and acquired some black mold stains that I could not remove. Hope this works better. Does not have a plug, which is the only downside

So Many Conveniences in a sink strainer!
The first thing I like about this strainer is you can pick it up by the stem in the center to lift it away from the drain. Also, you can literally turn it inside out for better cleaning! The strainer part is pliable, the stem is firm. I like the look and sturdiness of the stainless steel ring. I really didn’t think there would be so many things to like about this sink strainer, but there truly are!

Perfect for our sink
The OXO Silicone Sink Strainer has been such a welcome surprise!! Been using for a few months and just purchased another for future use if needed.- super easy to clean (yes, it will have to be emptied if too much in strainer but it’s such a quick clean out)- doesn’t stand out when looking at sink drain- just a good tool that works

Keeps small things from going down the garbage disposal
My sink has a garbage disposal, so I don’t use this to catch food, but rather to keep small things like lids and measuring spoons from ending up in the garbage disposal. I always wash the dishes with gloves on so sometimes it’s hard to grip things, and depending on what falls down there sometimes I have to take the glove off to feel around with my fingers until I find it. This little drain insert does not slow down the draining on my sink but does keep any little things from slipping down, and when food does end up in it, it’s very easy to pop it inside out to rinse it out. It’s also easy to clean.

Great product but…
I really like this product but the metal trim separated from the silicone after about a year. The silicone part will work on its own but it is not nearly as sturdy.

Slow to Drain
The rim is wide so the drain area is small with small holes – water tends to back up into the sink. The soft silicone works well to flip out the debris, however.It’s probably obvious but this only works in a sink with a disposal & deep opening.

Best drain strainer, used our last one until it fell apart
Our last one lasted 6 years and finally we had to replace it. This is easy to clean and easy to pick up from inside the sink. It allows water to flow through plenty fast, and catches everything. OXO does it again. Don’t try to find something cheaper – this one is worth it.

pay more attention
I should have paid more attention. This is only a strainer. I used to buy OXO strainers from BB&B that strained while lifted but held water for dishwashing when depressed. They looked just like this so thought it was the same. This only strains, can’t use for washing dishes.

Love it!
This replaced a nasty rusty slimy broken one at my sister’s place and she was very happy with the upgrade. It not only traps stuff from going down the drain like any strainer would, it’s also super easy to clean the trapped gunk out of it. The stainless steel and dark silicon materials that it’s made of look nice in the stainless steel sink too.I’ve bought two of these in the past for my own kitchen sinks, so I know they hold up well. Highly recommended!

Please replace that nasty sink stopper that came with the sink when it was installed! This one is superior in every way. Not only does it catch the bigger pieces of the food, etc. that tries to make it down the drain. The silicone center is gentle on your dishes.

Does not effectively trap scraps
After using this for months I have noticed that egg shells, flat scraps, basically anything that can slide under the edges and will escape under the sides of the drain into our septic system. I thought I would try another to see if this is bent. Will leave another review, but mediocre at best and short life span if bending is a problem.

Purchased for kitchen sink to stop things going down the drain. In our old building, everything clogs drains. This is so extremely easy to clean. Unexpected Wow!
I ordered this to try something different than a normal all metal sink strainer. I have used it for about a month now, and am impressed. It is so easy to clean – I just flip the silicone over the trash, and the debris jumps out. I know this is weird to say about a strainer, but I find it really cool. I hope that it lasts!

Where has this been all my life?!

Nice Product
I have used these for years and consider then essential. Great to stop food scraps from being washed down the sink when rinsing dishes. Does need to be cleaned as there can be some buildup under the rim. Does not suction, just sits in the drain.

Highly recommend
These are great. I used to use the wire mesh kind, and wires would poke out (ouch!), it was challenging to clean, and it didn’t hold up so we replaced them often. But THIS! This is a breeze to clean…just invert it and it pops all the yuck into the trash bin! This was a good purchase.

Great buy, not disappointed
This looks stylish (the metal is very shiny & clean). Flipping the silicone is super easy & debris rinses off without effort. Only stringy stuff requires you to touch the inside of the strainer. It is not a perfect snug fit in the drain, but cosmetically from the top it is flush and looks like it was made for the sink. Great buy. Not showing any signs of slowing down or wear. I definitely plan to buy for OXO more often.

Just what we needed!
This drain cover works extremely well! I love it forms to our drain and catches everything. It’s rubber inside so you can turn it inside out over the trash to empty. Comes clean quickly and the quality is great. Had it for about 6 months without issues. Would definitely recommend!

I love the OXO brand and I think they are reliable, good quality items. I actually ordered 4 of these, 1 for myself & 1 for each of 3 other people who needed them. I don’t know what “suction power” refers to. They sit over the drain in the kitchen sink, for me to prevent spoons from falling into the disposal…. It also keep bones and wrappers from falling down into the disposal area. They can be cleaned in the dishwasher and they’re easy to lift out with the center handle. I can easily recommend these sink strainers. The price is reasonable for the quality.

Works well, wish lasted longer.
Great product that fits well in my sink. Sturdy and really keeps food waste/dishes from going down the drain. Only challenge is that with about a year of use, the rubber separated from the metal. Will buy again because it works well, though disappointing that it needed to be replaced.

Catches most food (not thin ramen noodles)
Catches most bits of food, but not slippery & thin noodles (like ramen) — thin noodles will slip right through holes. On the other hand, even bits of egg shell (I think b/c they are not slippery), are “caught” by the silicone and don’t immediately go through the holes. This gives you time to lift & tap in the garbage and, then, replace strainer. Yes, it’s that easy to clean — 99 percent of time I tap and everything comes out. Infrequently, I need to wipe with a paper towel. The review rubric asked me to rate the suction power and I have never noticed any suction power — it just sits in the drain and that seems to work well. This strainer does NOT work to close the drain and fill the sink with water — you’d need an all-metal strainer for that, I think. But I find this silicone one has smaller holes and, thus, catches more food than the traditional all-metal sink strainers. I last purchased 3 years ago and one of the two have fallen apart — silicone came away from metal ring. So, I am reordering. Finally, thank you OXO for your inflation restraint. Only an 11 percent increase in price as compared to 3 years ago — much better than many products.

The best at what it does
This is definitely the best sink strainer. I don’t recommend the one from OXO that has the built-in stopper but this one is fantastic. Stops from clogging the drain, easy to clean.
