Mostly great
I’ve had this mounted for about a year now. So far it’s good. It works best when the metal plate is adhered to the outside of your phone case. I now have a “magnetic mount compatible” case and it’s not as firm of a hold.I’ve noticed from the heat of this summer, the adhesive is starting to loosen. I’m concerned it’s going to fall off one day and I’ll end up scraping foamy plastic gunk off my dashboard. It’s just double sided 3M tape, so it wouldn’t be hard to replace. For the price of this mount kit, it’s worth it. I’d recommend it.However, ProClip USA makes a premium mount that clips into the dashboard. I haven’t used it myself, but if I had a newer car, I’d go that route I think.

Exactly What I Needed
I needed a dash holder for my iphone that works with a pop socket. Sounds simple, right?I would be but my car doesn’t have a good surface to mount a phone holder and I didn’t want to obstruct my air vents with a vent mount. Then, I saw this! Thinking it could work for me, I purchased it.This piece was the perfect size that I could squeeze in between my air vents but angle down to not interfere with vent flow.Since it’s magnetic and I don’t have a magnetic pop socket case, I found on Amazon, of course, a thin magnet made to stick to the top of the pop socket. It’s the same size with no overlap so it’s a seamless look.Together with this dash mount, it’s amazing. I can angle the mount with my phone attached and it’s super sturdy. There’s no spinning, vibrations, or dropping my phone. It’s a magnetic bond is strong! The only thing I will say is that the adhesive that came with the product wasn’t very good. So I replaced it with a 3M double sided strip and voila!

Strong magnet, good quality suction cup that stays on
Quality is excellent. My old one lasted about 2 years, before the arm became soft, and needed replacing. But since this is quite a cheap unit I’m fine with it. The convenience of using this great. My camera mount falls off once a month, whilst this mount stays where I put it. Thanks!

It’s adequate for the job
No issues. The gooseneck is flexible but sturdy holding my larger phone model. I don’t love that the plastic packaging isn’t recyclable/non-sustainable (It easily could be).

I really wanted to love this Scosche phone mount
I have been using Scosche magnetic phone holders for many years now, they are in all of my vehicles. I wanted to add a second mount to my van, and the only place to mount something was over a small vent with a line down the middle of it. I saw this mount and because it was from Scosche I immediately bought it. It does hold my phone, but when I pull my phone up to look at it, the mount comes off with it, and it requires a lot of work to get it in just the right spot to reattach the mount to the vent again. If you have a vent that does not have a separation in the middle, this mount will work fine. Unfortunately this is not the case for me. I will get the mount that has to be attached permanently to the vehicle, like the many others I have, and all will be good. Look at the other types of mounts by Scosche, all of the others have worked fabulously for me!

Simple & To The Point for Mounting Phones
The Magic Mount works by magnetically mounting to a metal plate you attach to your phone. When you first receive the mount in the mail, it will come with a large and medium sized metal plate. The metal plates can either be attached to the back of your phone or your phone case, and will have 3M adhesive on one side of the plate. I don’t recommend using the 3M adhesive to attach the plate unless you are attaching to the outside of your case. If the back of your phone case is thin enough, you can lay the metal plate where you want it on the back of your phone, and put the case on over it to hold it in place without using the adhesive. This allows you to reuse the plate later if you ever change phones. For the iPhone 6+ and similar sized phones, I recommend the larger plate included with the mount. For iPhone 1-6 and similar sized phones, go with the medium plate, which is the smaller of the two plates included with the mount. The mount itself attaches to your dashboard with a 3M adhesive pad. One of things I noticed in the reviews and experienced when I purchased the mount is that the adhesive holding the mount is sensitive. It is EXTREMELY important to clean the area where you wish to *ahem* mount the mount before mounting it. Dust and dirt can degrade the adhesive’s ability to stay attached to the dashboard of your car. As long as you clean the surface first, you shouldn’t have to much trouble with the mount staying put. In the event the mount does come off your dashboard, SCOSCHE does include a replacement mount 3M pad with their extra metal plate kit. The replacement kit costs 9.99$ from Amazon, and comes with a small, medium, and large replacement plate, a replacement adhesive pad for this mount, and a round adhesive pad for one of their other mounts. iPhone 6+ and “phablet” users may want to consider using super glue rather than the adhesive pad to attach the mount. It will leave a mark on your dashboard if you ever remove the mount, however it will make sure it doesn’t go anywhere. The mount does an excellent job keeping your phone in place while driving on paved roads, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks. For off-roading, you may want to consider a clamp-style phone mount. Thanks for reading! 🙂 If you think I overlooked anything, shoot me a note and I will happily take another look at my review.

LOVE this unit
Standard for all my reviews: When reviewing products, I always remain objective and honest about the product or service. I always review with information that I feel others would like to know about the product as I always assume what I’m writing will influence for or against the purchase. I always try to go above and beyond surface characteristics and input into quality, value and application. Most importantly, I will always end the review with an answer as to whether I’d purchase the product again which I believe is the most critical question pertaining to the item. To manufacturers: Want me to review your items, just let me know!I was using one of the spring loaded phone mounts from a different manufacturers before it broke. I had planned to simply replace it with the same mount but decided to do a search to see what was available. After reading seeing many different designs and reading a lot of reviews I settled on this Scosche magnetic mount for my large iPhone.I can’t say enough good things about this mount. The magnetic attachment makes mounting and dismounting the large iphone a cinch. Because the neck of the unit is bendable, it’s much easier to place the mount in a less conspicuous/obtrusive spot and bend the arm to your need for maximum viewing. The plates install either on the back of your phone and are strong enough to still hold well even through a thicker case. I use the Spec iPhone case. Even though I did install one of the plates on the phone itself, I also decided to put one on the back of the case since they included it and it fits well. It also does make for a more secure connection to the magnet on the holder. The “hold” is very secure and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever with it. The placement with bending the neck gives me better visibility. I just bought one as a gift as well and will be getting my daughter one too. The suction cup sticks well and they include a small plate that you can use if you can’t suction cup it directly to the surface. The ONLY very minor issue is that there does seem to be a bit more bounce of the phone than the other mount I had but it’s not an issue and is very minor. If you’re looking for a simply but VERY effective mount for your phone in the car or, for that matter, just about anywhere, this is it!

Worked great on rough roads
I bought the SCOSCHE MAGWDM MagicMount with flexible neck to use in rental cars. In my own car at home, I use a small AC vent-mounted phone holder with a magnet that holds the phone itself. While this works well in my car, I have found that it does not work well in many other cars where an AC vent-mounted holder doesn’t work well for a variety of reasons.I bought this mount before a 1.5 week trip to Greece. I rented two cars over the course of the trip and drove all over the two islands I visited with many poor roads along the way. I’m happy to report that this mount worked really well. I mounted it in each car when I received the car and left it there for the duration of the rentals. The mount never fell off the windshield and didn’t ever drop my phone despite the poor road conditions. It also worked well for positioning the phone where I wanted it to make following directions/GPS easier.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the way the mount performed. I would definitely buy it again. The only caveat I have is that I have only used it for this 1.5 week trip. As a result, I can’t comment on long-term durability.

Great quality and multi surface application
This Mount was by far the best all around car mount I’ve been able to find. I have bought several and had to return or just pile into a drawer.I have had three cars where mounting was challenging if you wanted your phone held in a place that was ergonomically correct or at least better, a Buick Enclave, Porsche Cayenne, GMC Yukon. I’ve tried several vent mounts which are fine for viewing a phone but often damage the vents after a while or make the vents sag. Many other alternatives all had more shortcomings and this unit was overall the most stable and best quality. The reasons for this rating are based on adjustability, multi surface mounting and most importantly ergonomics.Adjustability has to do with how the phone can be positioned forward, left right and viewing angle which changes based on where and how you drive. If I’m driving in the city I have a more forward and upright form of driving. Highway, long-distance is more relaxed and therefore the unit can tip back. If I have two mounting plates, I can actually mount in two different places.Multi surface mounting is possible with this unit because it comes with both suction and also an adhesive metal plate that allows unit to be adhered to any textured or even partially contoured. You cannot mount suction to a contoured surface.Ergonomics is about being able to comfortably use the phone without causing shoulder or other irritated joint issues which I’ve noticed can happen when you reach for your phone often to hit the voice to text button or change the navigation options.Lastly, the quality is excellent and the item is very stable. wiggle is limited. You might need to use the magnetic mount on the back of the phone if your phone is in a case or not metal but otherwise the phone sits very still and doesn’t vibrateThis item handles the best application all around hands down.

Extremely Strong Magnet – Able to hold heavy battery cases
ORIGINAL: I did a lot of research to try to find the magnetic car mount that would be the strongest because I have a large battery case around my phone which dramatically increases the weight. This magnetic mount turned out to be very strong. The battery case I have is the “iPhone 6 Plus Battery Case, Foxin 8000 mAh Extended Battery Case Rechargeable Power Bank Charging Case for iPhone 6 Plus.” I use it for my iPhone 6 plus (the bigger/heavier one). If you look up that case or look at the pictures I posted, you can see how large the case is and why I thought it might be too heavy for a magnet. I drove around all day making sharp/fast turns to see if I could knock my phone off this mount and it did not slide in any direction at all. Coincidentally, I almost got in an accident on the highway when a guy in front of me went from ~ 55 mph to ~ 10 mph in about 1.5 seconds by slamming on his breaks. I slammed on my breaks and made a jerking turn into the shoulder. The stuff in my passenger seat hit into the dashboard and fell onto the floor but the phone did not slide or move. So the magnets they use are about as strong as any phone could need. The mount came with two metal plates (one big and one small) which have an extremely sticky adhesive on the back. The little pegs on the back of the mount are very strong but CAN be bent under enough force. I bent mine slightly (while intentionally trying to bend them) but I don’t think any vent would bend them or someone could accidentally bend them.UPDATE: The vent mount did not hold to the vent after about a week or two. I bought the dashboard adhesive version by the same company with the same magnet strength. The new, dash mount is great and I have no complaints. Because the new mount is good I have decided not to deduct any stars but I do not recommend the vent version of this car mount.

AWESOME product – DEPENDING upon your car
Having used the original magic mount before, I knew that the magnetic system was highly convenient and effective. So when I was looking for a way to use my cell phone for navigation in my car, I decided to return to the magic mount line. The product works perfectly, provides a great way to quickly mount and unmount your cell phone, and gives you an additional USB charging port to boot. It’s highly flexible and adjustable, and I really couldn’t imagine a better fit for my vehicle (2015 Honda Crosstour).I do have some concerns about durability (the swivel head at the top is already getting loose, after just 2 1/2 months). In a lot of ways, I view this as a 6-star design and a 4-star durability item, giving it a 5 star rating anyway. Even if I had to replace it once or twice per year, the convenience and design make it worth the recurring cost to me.That said, buyer beware: this may not be ideal for every car. Although the unit is very flexible, there are still certain limits. For example, you cannot fold it in a circle to make it shorter. It folds forward, left or right, and can be marginally inverted to reduce the height – but your cell phone will also probably extend above the top of the swivel head when seeking a good solid magnetic connection, so you’re going to need 3-4 inches of unobstructed, vertical clearance, and a good line of sight view at that height to make this product worthwhile. Not every car has that, so BE SURE TO CHECK where your lighter port / power outlet is BEFORE buying. If you don’t have the sufficient clearance, you may want to consider the original magic mount instead. (If you have a choice to use either one, go with this one though – I find it less distracting to have my cell phone lower in the vehicle, plus the power port is a nice added bonus).

Love this…
I have a large phone. It’s 6.9 inches… Samsung Note 20 Ultra. So, it’s heavier than most phones. This mount holds it great. It’s never fallen off. Very easy to use. Just stuck it up to the magnet and let go. That simple. Plus the suction on the windshield is great. Never moved.

really good with minor issue
the magnet part is strong and reliable. I have two minor quibbles. First, the blue light is very bright. so much so, that I ended up putting a piece of tape over it so it wasn’t blinding me at night. Second, depending on your car adapter, the fitment can be a tiny bit loose. in my rig, there is a small amount of left/right wobble when driving even though its in there good.

Love this product
This is my second one of these. I accidentally bent my existing one finally too far, although I did have it for a few years. Love how sturdy this item is and how it holds my phone without having to worry about a sticky magnet on my windshield

Serves its purpose, with one caution
I wanted to mount my new smartphone in my car, but most of the conventional mounts, dashboard, heater vent, windshield, were inconvenient, or had too large a footprint, or were not suited to my particular needs. Then the Scosche Magnetic dash mount was recommended to me. The reviews were good, so I ordered it. It was certainly compact enough, being shipped in a thin cardboard cube about 2″ square, containing everything necessary for installation. Its shipped with two thin steel plates, one about 1/2 the size of the other. HINT: Don’t glue the plate directly to your phone, although you could. I wound up buying a cheap ($2) custom fit plastic case for my specific smartphone model and glued the plate to the inside of the case, not the phone. The small footprint allowed me to glue the magnetic base to the dash in just the place I wanted it. The magnet firmly grasps the phone and I haven’t had a single occurrence of the phone falling off the mount. In fact, I liked it so much I bought a second one, and used it to mount my audio scanner (tuned to railroad frequencies) to the dash as well. In neither case is the windshield obscured. So why the 4 stars if I’m so satisfied. Only after opening the box and reading the instructions do you discover it is not to be used with any Qi wireless charging devices as it can cause extreme heat and potential damage to the phone, or actually burn the user. I was considering Qi, until I read the caveat on the instructions. Without that exception, it would merit five stars.

Replaceable fuse! Excellent customer service and 3-Year Warranty. Unique item
I highly recommend this MAGPCUP model for its quality, unique feature set, and industry leading 3-year warranty. (I love this. Who gives you that, anymore, for small devices like this?) And they have a customer service dept that aims to please.I’m now two years into my ownership and constant use of the MAGPCUP in a Ford E350 van with lots of vibration, dust and moisture. It offers a unique feature set and form factor, which is why, I guess, they raised the price by $10 in the two years since my purchase in early 2020. I’m extremely happy with this product, even at what I considered a high price of $30, but I balked at its $40 price when I sought to replace it a month ago. Happily, this item was built to be repaired and maintained. The company was able to supply me, under warranty, the missing parts I required to get my original mount charging again – hence my happiness.I have encountered two minor issues (discussed at the bottom of this review) which seem somewhat at odds with the generally excellent design and manufacture. Otherwise, I detail below the many qualities I value in this charging phone mount.Purchased in Feb 2020. For two years, I’ve been using this MAGPCUP in my Ford E350 center console, which has funny-sized and shaped cut-outs and only two smallish cupholders, neither available for this device. The tri-footed mechanism for gripping the interior of any size cup-holder was enough for me to situate it in an oddly shaped cut-out, in a particular way as to establish firm placement. Bravo. Furthermore, this item never vibrates loose on its own, unlike anything else in this vehicle. This item has survived a lot of dust and moisture (though never moisture while charging). Even the magnetic mount, with it’s fancy grippy rubbery surface, has survived two years looking new after I recently wiped it. Rubber surfaces often fail and become sticky or come off in pieces, well before a useful item is ready to return. Glad to see this Scosche model looks as good as new after two years.Summary:- Unique: MAGPCUP model seems to be unique. I could not find another cup-holder base, hi-neck magnetic phone mount, with two 12V charging ports, anywhere online. Literally no other form factor would suit my needs nearly as effectively and efficiently in my space. The rest of the highlights I list below are also largely unique and hard to find in this product space.- Dual 12V Power Expansion: I’m a charging device snob, and want to use my own power adapters (in this case, 12V USB car chargers) to charge my expensive devices. Hence, rather than plug my devices directly into the USB power ports on the Scosche MAGPCUP, my passenger and I each have a dual USB port car charger for our devices, plugged into the two 12V ports on the MAGPCUP, in the center console, a location convenient to both of us. This is far better than relying on just my one 12V port, near the driver, with no such power source anywhere near my passenger. [I have no reason to believe that MAGPCUP’s USB charging isn’t up to snuff, but since it’s not their primary business, I prefer using my own USB car chargers with safety features and brand reputation that meet my needs.]- Space-Saving Multi-functional: I need the space-saving feature of having “dual power extensions” provided in the same console space as my high-rise magnetic phone mount.- Hi-rise Neck: The tall mount is a necessity in my tall van, so I don’t have to look too far down, away from the road, to see the GPS on my phone.- Strong Magnet: for a regular size phone (6” diagonal). I do a lot of bumpy terrain that gets everything vibrating in the van and my phone (in Otterbox Symmetry case) stays in place on the magnetic mount very well, but my phone’s not very big.- Longevity & Quality: Although the black Scosche metal plate (that I adhered to the back of my phone case) lost much of its paint over the past two years, and looks really ugly, the rest of the MAGPCUP looks as good as new, after the dust is wiped off. Even the grippy rubbery surface of the magnet mount looks brand new, which seems quality to me because rubbery surfaces often disintegrate too soon (esp in Florida heat).- Highly Functional Design: The tri-foot extension mechanism can grib an odd shaped space pretty well. It never comes loose over time (despite my high-vibration ride), even as I twist the upper part of the MAGPCUP to point the magnetic mount at a more convenient angle. The 12V ports on either side of the hi-neck mount are super-convenient for charging access by two people.- Safety Features: I don’t know how to assess Scosche’s electronics, except that they’re a reputable brand so they’re probably using industry standard safety practices in their charging devices. I HAVE noticed the nice large user-accessible fuse in the 12V charger piece. Good to know a surge or spike won’t hurt anything across that boundary. I did actually overdraw charge on this unit once (with a high speed PP/PPS car charge providing juice to a hungry samsung tablet), and it “shut off” so no more power went through. I forgot what I did to revive things, but I believed it just worked again, once I’d removed the offending power draws. I did not need to replace the fuse, so I’m not sure what part “tripped”and most astounding …- Replaceable Fuse: There’s a metal screw ring at the tip of the 12V charger (the part you stick in your car’s 12V port). By unscrewing this, the tip will come off and you’ll find a fuse and a copper spring inside. I’m so impressed that Scosche wanted this quality product to be field serviceable for something that might reasonably go wrong, without killing the MAGPCUP electronics completely.- Excellent Customer Support & Warranty: I recently emailed Scosche customer service (per their web page on warranty claims) to request replacement of the four tiny parts (fuse, spring, metal ring, etc) which got lost when, once again, the metal ring came off the end of the 12V charger, without me detecting it. Jeremy at Scosche customer service was extremely responsive and will be mailing me replacement parts. He also provided a form/procedure for requesting a new cable, if I determined that would better address my problem,Minor Issues:- Easily loosened metal screw ring at tip of 12V charger leads to lost parts: Sadly, my enthusiasm about a user-replacable fuse only came after the 2nd or 3rd time the metal screw ring came undone by itself, leaving four tiny parts dispersed across the area well before I realized I had a problem. In all but the most recent case I was able to find the parts and get it working again. This time, I had to ask the company to replace the lost parts, which they speedily handled.- DC Cable plug won’t come out. I can’t seem to remove the curly power cable from the MAGPCUP unit. Last time it was a struggle, and it seems a plastic ring on the DC jack was hanging up on the interior of the DC power input port. Now, I can’t unplug that jack (to detach the power cable) at all. It won’t come out, and I’m afraid to pull any harder for fear of breaking something.- Tiny “power available” lights (on 12V charger/adapter and on the MAGPCUP unit itself) presumably are responsible for a parasitic drain. Since my sole driver’s area 12V port provides always-on power (even when the engine is turned off and key removed), I need to unplug the MAGPCUP every time I leave the car, so I don’t accidently drain the battery. The power lights are a nice feature sometimes, but I wish I could disable any parasitic drains related to this MAGPCUP, so I wouldn’t have to unplug it every single time.

Best mount as far as I’m concerned. But be aware, the sticky tape doesn’t mount on every surface.
I finally decided to add a phone mount in my truck after avoiding them for many years. I got my first Scosche unit at a big box retailer. It worked like a charm for my iPhone 5S in a Ballistic case. I put the magnet inside the case without even sticking it using the tape. The mount attached to my dash easily and stayed there no problem with the double back tape pre-installed on the mount. Using this made driving much safer and kept my eyes up about dash level even when answering incoming calls or looking at the GPS. Later, I bought a second one here at Amazon for my iPhone 6+ in a Ballistic case. I did the same setup as before, bu I used the larger magnet provided inside the case because it’s a heavier/larger phone. I had two problems that do not deter me from giving this a 5-star rating, but I want to share to help others out:1) While the Ballistic case for my iPhone 6+ is thin, it’s not *as* thin as the one I had on my iPhone 5S so the magnet doesn’t work as well. Big bumps or rutted dirt roads will shake the phone right off the mount and it will fall. The 6+ is heavier and larger so maybe that’s the issue, but I think it’s the case. I have considered putting the magnet on the outside of the case. That said, this system works like a charm and i do like the magnet vs. other systems I’ve seen2) The tape that holds the mount on the dash completely failed me when I tried to mount this to my van dash. The first one I purchased mounted perfectly on a very smooth surface in my Nissan Frontier, but in a Chevy cargo van, the slightly textured dash didn’t hold the stickiness and it just fell off. I went out and bought some super-duty double back tape at Home Depot and that didn’t work either. In the end, I need GPS for my business so I just peeled off all the residue on the mount and super-glued it to the dashboard of the van. Be aware that the tape provided will not stick effectively to a textured surface.Bottom line, the ease of just slapping the phone right up on the mount (sometimes without even having to look) and being able to grab it off with ease, makes for a super-great car mount. I don’t plan to use anything else.

Works Great!
This little magnet works well with my phone case that has a small magnet built in on the back of it. My phone will fall off the magnet if I go over very big bumps, but I think it’s because the magnet that is inside my phone case is not strong enough. Would recommend using the magnets that come in the box for a much better hold. Other than that I’m happy with it

Good suction hold without sticky goop – strong magnet hold of phone – Little bit of shake – Plate blocks android pay.
I bought the window unit and I really like it. I was looking for something that had JUST a suction cup without that awful sticky stuff. My last mount had the goop and any time I had to remove it from the windshield, it left a residue. And the more I moved the mount from car to car, and through changing temps (mostly heat) the sticky stuff just got nasty… So back to this product. This suction cup (without goop) holds nice and tight to the window without any indication that it will drop or lose suction. It’s been on my car for the last couple of weeks now and still holding strong. As for the magnet, that part works great too. I love not having a claw or spring loaded contraption I have to use two hands to either mount or dismount my phone. Holds my LG G4 strong. I use mine primarily in portrait mode. If you prefer landscape, the weight of a charging cable COULD start turning the phone back upright – but I was able to counter this by making sure I was centered on the metal strip under my case, and by sliding it left a bit so there was more top-of-phone weight on the left to counter the pull of the cable on the right. Again, I don’t know how much of an issue this is because I rarely use it that way anyway. The bad: It’s noted that the metal plate you stick on your device will block wireless charging but info about blocking NFC Mobile Pay was inconclusive. I use Android Pay everywhere it’s accepted, and to my dismay, the metal plate DOES BLOCK NFC ANDROID PAY functionality (at least on my LG G4). I’m using the larger rectangular strip rather than the smaller round one, so I can’t comment on if the same goes with that but but I’d have to assume it will be the same.Only good thing for me is I’m using a very slim case that’s easy to take off and on, so I stuck the strip to the inside of my case rather than to the back of my phone. Want to pay by phone? Just slip the phone out of it’s case for a second. Not ideal but it’s a trade off. This is second hand info – but my co-worker likes motorola phones and he told me his moto phones are already made of the right metal and will stick to magnetic mounts without the need for an add-on metal strip. Hopefully other manufacturers like LG, Sammy, Crapple… will start designing their phones with built in metal pads for magnetic mounts that will co-function with NFC if these types of mounts gain in popularity.Lastly – one of the other reviewers mentioned that it shakes – well it does a bit – but it’s really not that bad. It’s true, you probably wouldn’t want to use this mount if your primary usage was going to be for black-box or first-person style video recording while driving. But for GPS, quick access to music… the shake is negligible. It was actually most annoying when it was sunny out, the screen was off, and I was seeing a shaking reflection of my own arm. You don’t really notice it during screen-on operation. If you mount it in such a way so that the charging cable or even part of the phone is low enough to touch/rest on the dash, the shake is almost gone completely. The arm is EXTREMELY stiff. I can be bent into a custom angle/curve, but it is much firmer than I was expecting. Which probably helps cut down the shake to as low as it is.If I had to buy again – I would without delay.

Great Function for Price
I can’t believe I didn’t get this until just now. Makes directions so much easier, not to mention safer. Everything is straightforward, easy, and it works fantastically. Plus the price is more than reasonable. The only thing I’ll at all be down on is putting the magnet on the case. If you’re like me and have a thing about symmetry, then be very careful because you’ll have to look at it and it will drive you crazy for a bit. Overall, very, very pleased with this purchase.

Strong adhesion and magnet
I bought my mom this mount and she has been using it in her car for two years. I asked her what she thought of it and she was very pleased. The adhesion has held up very well and the magnet is strong enough that there is no danger of the phone falling off unintentionally. I did clean the dash with alcohol before mounting.

Probably one of my favorite purchases in a while.
I cannot begin to explain my love for this product. I have an iPhone 6S+,
This screen protector
,
This case
, and
this stick-on wallet
with 4 credit cards. Needless to say, my phone is fairly heavy. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found this mount that can actually hold my device. What I ended up doing just to be sure it would stay perfectly was putting the larger metal plate it includes INSIDE the case, between the back of the phone and the case. Then I ended up sticking the smaller plate (because I believe it was more attracted to the magnets, and it was better looking) directly to the back of the case. This combination ended up holding my phone PERFECTLY. Actually, a little too perfectly. Because of the texture on the back of my case, the adhesive had a bit of trouble adhering properly. I would end up peeling the case away from the metal plate rather than taking the metal plate with me. This really wasn’t a huge deal, I ended up simply taking a bit of Krazy Glue and simply gluing the smaller plate onto the back of my case. Now it holds perfectly. The suction cup holds perfect to any glass/plastic surface. I have used it both in my car and on my bathroom mirror. It doesn’t fall down and is sturdy while maintaining a sleek look. The gooseneck is AMAZING! I was worried about moving it when trying to touch the screen, but that is NOT an issue. It is really sturdy and keeps the phone exactly where you adjusted it.Overall, I am loving this thing, and it is probably one of my favorite purchases in a while.

Upon opening the package which was easily done and very well conceived I noticed the quality …
I wanted to be able to give this a 5 star. I ordered it with high hopes from reading reviews but was sadly let down. Upon opening the package which was easily done and very well conceived I noticed the quality of the product. It came with a small metal plate for your phone and a larger one for your tablet. I tested the strength of each plate on the magnet and everything seemed good. Next I attached the small plate to the back of my Iphone 6. I checked the hold and power of the magnet and it appeared strong. I put my Spigen case back onto my phone and then tried attaching it and noticed it wasn’t as strong. I held the base with the phone on it and simulated bumps and swerves that I could expect to encounter while driving. The phone slipped right off and fell. I don’t really hold that against the product because I think it would be a stretch for any magnet and plate hold tight with a case separating them. So I attached the larger plate to the outside of my case and then tried again with my makeshift test. This time everything went great! The magnets held tight and the phone didn’t move. At this point I decided to place the dash mount where I wanted it in the car. I cleaned the spot and dried it off thoroughly. I place the mount into the spot pressing down firmly for a good solid minute. I let the mount sit for a few additional minutes just to give it extra time to “cure”. Upon placing my phone onto the mount everything seemed fine at first. Then after a few minutes the mount began to pull loose. It was coming up at the back of the plate. I tried pressing it down again a little harder this time. Still no luck as I tried the phone again. I had followed the directions exactly and to be honest this isn’t really rocket science with a sticky tab. It was a nice, clean, dry flat spot that should of worked easily.I tested the swivel on the mount and locking it into one place. It’s tough to get to if it were mounted to the dash for my fat fingers. You have to lock it down really tight to get it to hold and not move. I found this a little lacking but considering I couldn’t mount it to the dash that wasn’t really my biggest concern. So to wrap up this review the magnet works great! The swivel locked down is ok but nothing great. The dash mount doesn’t hold upon installation so it fails at it’s primary job. I ultimately will use it but I’ll have to find my own way to make the mount hold to the dash. Maybe velcro or some 3M product. Sadly disappointed in the product but I’ll keep it and try to make my own method to get it to work.

Convenient
I bought this because I had a magnetic phone holder in the past that I liked a lot, but this one seems to have a much weaker magnet. I don’t know if it’s a problem with my phone case or if the magnet is just weak. It still holds the phone, but sometimes if I brake hard the phone falls off. It is very convenient though to be able to easily attach and detach the phone. It is not the most flexible phone holder I’ve had, so it can sometimes be difficult to adjust the phone to the position I want it in, but that isn’t really a big issue. The usb port is very convenient for charging a phone in the car. Overall, it isn’t my favorite car phone holder that I’ve had, but it works and is still very convenient. I am happy with the purchase.

Love this mount, hate its adhesive
I have owned several of these Scosche mounts over the years, both the vent style and the adhesive dash mount ones. These are my go-to mount any time I get a new vehicle, the magnets are fantastic and work great through the significant amount of driving I do every day. My biggest complaint is the adhesive for the mount to stick to the dashboard. I have never had one of these mounts successfully adhere to a dash. I have done the prep exactly per the instructions with the included prep cloth, I have tried 90% alcohol on a lint free towel, I have tried taping the mount down after adhering and allowing it to cure for several hours before testing it, none of them have fully worked to where the mount doesn’t either fall off completely or pull up at the edge and leave your phone rocking while the mount is holding on for dear life with 1/2 of the adhesive peeled off. I usually end up using some other kind of adhesive in addition to the included adhesive pad (usually super glue or JB plastic weld) and that works great but obviously permanently affixes the mount to your dash. Be warned!

I don’t need anything fancy, just something that holds the phone securely with magnets so I don’t have to fiddle with it or put my phone in some giant case.

Good for heat, just a bit flimsy for my liking
I’m amazed at how good the adhesive is for the magnet that goes on the actual phone. I live in florida, and drive a car with no window tint at all and my phone case is black, and the adhesive has yet to even move. It seems indestructible, its actually amazing. The actually suction cup is good. It does start to loosen after a couple weeks but I know that’s basically unavoidable as I have a heavier phone and I extend the arm all the way out in my car. Its a pretty good product, hasn’t broken on me yet and I’ve been using it for over a year. All of the plastic parts look good as well.

Works like magic
Look, I really didn’t appreciate the idea of semi-permanently affixing a plate to my pretty white phone or a plastic mount to my 19-year-old hoopty’s dashboard. But this thing works GREAT. The plate is thin enough that I don’t notice and I never look at the back of my phone anyway. It’s completely worth it to just plop the phone against the mount and that’s that — no finicky clamp mechanisms or temperamental suction mounts. This is as dead one-handed easy as a product can possibly be. Buy one!

After buying one nearly 2 years ago, I bought another same one…
I have Samsung Note 8 with case that covers front and back. I had puchased 3 of these in last 2 years. One for me and 2 for family members. Afterward, I had also purchase 2 other different brands with motorized holder and non-motorized on dash, windows, and air vents. I always end up putting this back after few months. Others fall off from hot windshield or dash and air vents fall off randomly. I put mine on center of windshield that drops down to my top air vents in my 2016 Camry. Unless I pull it out, it never fell once. Through record heat wave temperature and iced cold windshield, it stayed on. The convenience of instant magnet that holds tight and even quicker phone retrieving when getting out the car is a world of difference from other brands.Con: 1- The plate needs to be on the phone for the magnet connection (which is why I use the back outer case for this reason) 2- Plate interferes or gets hot when near the wireless charging area of the phone. ( which is why I have place the plate near the top of the back) 3 – So far, No car phone holder with included wireless charging with this product. ( maybe in the future?)Besides these inconveniences, I will still use this since it works and works well for me.

Fantastic car mount for large or small phones.
This car mount is fantastic. The suction cup stays where you stick it and hasn’t fallen off yet. I take the whole mount down when I’m not using my GPS, so it’s shown to be reliable even with repeated removal. I placed the base pad on a relatively flat, even surface on my dashboard above my radio and it hasn’t had the problems with hot weather that some other reviewers have reported (I live in Texas, so it’s seen plenty of hot weather). The arm is stiff enough to hold larger, heavier phones in place without bending, but is easy enough to bend by hand if you need to change the angle. The mount comes with two sticky magnets, a small and a large, to place on the back of your phone. I have an iPhone 6+ and use the larger magnet. It has stayed in place ever since I first applied it and is thin enough that I can put my phone case on the phone over it. I have a wallet case, so my credit card is held close to the magnet and I’ve never had any problems with the card being read. My mother did some research of her own and bought a different suction cup mount for her phone. The neck would bend anytime her smaller phone was placed on it and the suction cup never stayed attached to the windshield even when both surfaces were cleaned thoroughly. After a week she asked me to order a mount like mine for her. This mount definitely makes road trips more enjoyable.

Go hands free. No reason to vent.
We use these phone mounts in all of our vehicles. Your vents need to have vertical or horizontal slats. A waffle cone or round/spiral vent will not work. The mount uses a friction fit to hold onto the slats on your vent. It has two sizes on the vent slits. If you try it and it is too loose or tpo tight just rotate it 90 degrees and try again. If it is not quite tight enough and you find that you pull it out of the vent when you grab your phone, just slide the phone off of the magnet instead of pulling it. The mount comes with a few very thin magnets of various sizes. Choose the one that fits your phone or case the best and attach it via the sticky back of the magnet. The phone holds great on the mount. I have not had one come off under all kinds of driving conditions and temperatures. The only down side of the mount type is that you are blocking the vent with the phone so if this is an issue for you just be aware. As I said we use them in all of our vehicles to give hands free phone support.

My favorite mount
I have bought 5 of these Scoshe MagicMounts and I love them. All my family members have one in their cars. Some people think it’s pricey but honestly my phone has never fallen off the magnet, no matter how big the pothole. Switching from horizontal to vertical is just an easy flip of your phone, no unscrewing or tightening. You can mount on your dash or windshield, I personally prefer windshield. I use a pretty sturdy silicone case by tech21 with my iPhone Xr, works on big phones too. It’s even held on when I’ve had my debit card in my phone case. If you have a super heavy duty phone case that has a silicone and hard case layer, I recommend putting it on the actual case instead of the phone. And I love that they sell just the replacement magnets for when you switch phones.Oh and FYI, for those who don’t really read the instructions (like me at first): the little transparent film that comes with the magnet is meant to place between the phone and magnet, it makes the removal of the magnet a lot easier without scratching up your phone and don’t worry the magnet works just as well with it. I will never go back to those clip mounts or air vent ones. This went on for way too long but hope it helps someone. This is well worth the money.

Not bad
It’s a bit bulkier than expected but honestly it’s been one of the better car holders I’ve had. Strong magnet, strong arm to hold my phone. I have a galaxy fold and even fully opened, the magnet holds it without tilt or anything. Def recommend the product.

Strong Magnet!
Product easily adheres to my trucks plastic surfaces, and the great quality knob locks the ball joint into perfect placement however I want it! Great quality product and design! Rotates freely when I want, and can easily lock with one hand. If anything changes I will update layer, but for right now I’m loving it! Also since this is a small product, it somewhat blend right in to the dashboard dials and buttons. Love it!

Great Mount!
Several years ago I was looking for a way to mount my phone in my car. Unfortunately, I have always owned a version of the Samsung Galaxy Note which meant my phone was always on the bigger side. I came across Scosche on Amazon and saw it was a magnetic mount, very different from the clamp versions which I hated. It always seemed to be a pain to try and get your phone in and out of the clamps if you were at a stop light and needed to send a quick text. After installing my first Scosche mount in my car, I loved it. Installation was simple. Clean off the area you want to place the mount, pull of the tab covering the adhesive, place it on the spot and press down firmly. Let it sit for a while and you are done. The mount has the magnet portion. You then take the metal plate, round or rectangular, remove the tab covering the adhesive, and place it on your case, inside your case, or on your phone (your pick). However, I have found the place you get the best stability is on the outside of the case. So, if you have an awesome case with a design on it, you won’t want to cover it so it will have to go inside the case. While it will still hold fairly well, that also depends on the thickness of your case. On the outside of the case, I have never had it fall off the mount in normal traffic/road conditions, including pot holes, speed bumps, road construction, slamming on the brakes. In an accident I had, it came off due to the impact. So, normal use, nothing to be worried about. Putting in on the mount and taking it off is simple. Take your phone and hold it up to the mount about where your plate is on the phone and the magnet will latch on to the plate and done. Take it off, just grab your phone and pull.Overall, easy installation, easy use. Down side, trying to figure out where you are going to put the metal plate on your phone.

I’ve tried two other phone mounts… THIS ONE is BY FAR THE BEST!
Mounting this low on the front windshield accomplishes two things: It minimizes sight-line issues and also allows you to rest your phone on the dash as you attach it to the mount. The result: no jiggles… resting on the dash means absolutely no annoying vibrations. For superior to any vent-mounted car-phone holders, it’s even better than much more expensive cupholder mounts (e.g., WeatherTech) because when mounted as described above, you don’t have to take your eyes off the road.No joke: This Scosche mount is worth 3x the price. (And no, I have no financial or other interest in the phone mount. Just a delighted and very satisfied user.)

Dash mount. It works…
I have noticed that these reviews are for all versions of the mount- suction cup, dash, cd, and vent. I think that is confusing. They should be reviewed separately. I am reviewing the Scosche MAGDM MagicMount Universal magnetic mount for the dash.So I tried a steel ball kind of magnetic mount and its magnetic strength was a joke. Then I learned to put the metal plate between the two layers of my dual layer phone case instead of between the phone and entire case. I still think the steel ball case would have failed. And it was heavy. Some have said that is great because it feels so sturdy and high quality. Then others complain that it won’t stick to the dash…hmmm. Well, the Scosche is light weight. I think it’s going to have a much better chance of staying on a horizontal surface of my dash. This mount actually works. It seems just strong enough for the bumpiest of rides. However, if I hit it just right on the corner with my hand on the way to the dash controls, it can lose its grip on my phone. I wish I could find one with a stronger magnet. And I wanted to install the larger metal plate inside my case, but it would not fit horizontally on an S8. The plate had to be trimmed with a grinder in order for it to fit in sideways. The smaller plate would have fit, but it seems too small to do much good behind the first layer of my case.I really like how the mounting base can be bent to fit the curve of a mounting surface. The hold on the slick surface of my dash (therein may lie the key-slick) is great. But we have very hot summers and it remains to be seen whether the adhesive will hold. I will try to update if it fails.

Love the magnetic attachment, much better than side grips. Very adjustable.
There was no surface near where I wanted to mount that was perfectly smooth, but it comes with a plastic disk with a 3M sticker, and once it’s sucked down onto that puppy, it stays. I think most people attach to the inside of the windshield or other glass, so that’ll work fine, just not in my case.I am a big fan of the thick rubber coated bendable arm — you can super-fine-tune the location in all dimensions without any fuss, and once it’s as you want it, it stays that way without drooping or anything. The magnetic attachment is remarkable. It really stays attached, even over very rough roads, etc. And it makes it super, super easy and quick to mount/unmount your phone, as well as adjust position a little as needed. I have had others that have side grips or top/bottom and they are annoying.I have an iPhone X normal size and mounted the small magnetic plate on the outside of my bumper case. I had also tried with the bigger magnet mounted on the inside of the case. Both worked. If you use a Qi (wireless) charger, it may or may not work depending on placement of the magnet (actually the metal plate that the magnet on the mount itself attaches to). I have a Qi charger at home, and was able to put the magnet high enough to not interfere with the charger. I recommend sticking the magnet to your case, rather than the phone back so that if you do get a Qi charger, all you have to do is slip off the case. But really that’s the only thing that’s slightly annoying.

Stop looking – this is the best phone mount system!
This SCOSCHE magnetic phone mount system is by far the best phone mount I have ever owned – and I have owned dozens and dozens in search of the right one. I am a district manager – and travel 500-600 miles a week, and there are those times (at a red light of course) where you just need to take your phone out of the mount for just a second to see something up close, or to dial a number, or to update your GPS location. With almost every other mount that is a pain in the a** – usually requires two hands, or pulls the mount off the dash because it hold the phone too well. With this system, there are so many options – you can find the exact right one for every possible scenario. I have have different mounts in my car, my wife’s car, my “toy” Polaris Slingshot – and now in my mother-in-law’s car as well. I also just ordered one of the dash mounts to use on my desk so my phone is always upright and within reach there as well. I have a number of friends who have also purchased since they saw mine. The magnet is just the right strength – it never rattles free even when I am doing some country road driving in the Slingshot – but always easy to take off to use. You can rotate our phone to keep it at any angle for GPS apps, etc. When not on the mount, the little magnetic plate is quote discrete – and if you use a case it works perfect without even sticking it to the back of your phone.Really – I can’t say enough good things about this system. Wish I would have thought of it myself!

If you have a van, this is a must.
my mom owns a 1999 toyota sienna minivan and she never had a place to put her phone she bought a dash mounted holder but it didn’t stick very well because her dash is curved and doesn’t have a flat spot so I got her this one because I remember when I was driving for Amazon it was soo handy just sticking the phone right on you dont have to goof around to get it to hold in place and its right in your peripheral vision so you’re not taking your eyes off the road. The phone stays on the whole time even when I was going through a construction zone with those big bumps the phone held on and barely even shook i think im gunna get one for my car! Now, if you use wireless charging, the magnet that you have to install either on the back of your phone or case, it doesn’t work with the wireless charger gotta plug it in which is better in my opinion its a direct connection but it is convenient when you have wireless charging but if you install the magnet to your phone case and then remove your case then you can put your phone on the wireless charger. I was kinda bummed when I found that out but it’s no big deal i still love this holder just slap your phone on it and away you go.

I Bought Two Versions – Lighter Socket and Window Suction Mount – BOTH HAVE FLEXIBLE ARMS!!!
I bought the single-USB port cigarette lighter model as well as the longer window suction-mount model. There are differences. The suction mount model has a NON-PIVOTING MAGNETIC HEAD. This was a bit of a surprise, and at first I thought CRUD! I am limited in the angle once the suction mount is in place. To my GREAT surprise and pleasure, I discovered that the gooseneck arm is flexible, though it does not look like it is when you first open the package. It has no segments like the power-outlet model gooseneck does, so it’s not instantly obvious (at least not to me) that you can bend the arm. It is very stiff but that is an excellent characteristic. It seems to be built very well, and even has a little hook where you can secure your charging cable right behind the magnetic head. It fit perfectly in my car – I am super happy with it.The power socket model has the more traditional segmented gooseneck arm, which is also quite stiff (again, a GOOD thing). It also has a pivoting/swiveling magnet head, which gives you even more flexibility in positioning your phone. I installed this one in my wife’s Pontiac Vibe and gave her a 1′ Portapow charge-only USB cable, so she is happy and there are not a lot of wires running around her car. The power plug fits very snugly into the lighter socket which prevents it from rotating or coming loose. Great fit! Both models of the Scosche mounts have magnets that are not nearly as strong as another brand that I have, but that’s the only downside I can see. Both are holding Samsung S4/S5 phones quite securely using the metal plates that come with the devices.Highly recommended – quality products!

Worked for 2.5 years!
This worked for 2.5 years before the connection between the suction cup and the “neck” disintegrated from what I believe was heat exposure. I pulled on it a little bit while trying to re-adjust the suction and it just fell apart with crumbs of damaged plastic coming out.The suction is pretty good but would fall off every few months. Just had to readjust which took two seconds. Will be re-purchasing to get another 2.5 years out of it. Not too expensive for how long it lasted.

Pros, Cons and everything else.
This review is includes Schosche MagicMount Magnetic Mount Replacement.ProsThis is the best thing to hold your phone or IPAD in the car. I have a SUV which sometimes feels like I am off-roading when I ride over bumps and it holds up to all the bumps. It is quite sturdy. Easy to take off and on. Can position quite easily with no fuss. Make sure you read the instructions carefully so you know what size of the magnet is used with what time of electronic.ConsAlthough I love this product there are some things to consider. Not all states allow items to be on the windshield or only allow it either on the side or the middle near the mirror. The magnet that you put on your phone or IPAD is somewhat permanent as thus you would have to buy more if you change your phone. I would recommend putting the magnet in between the phone and case and not actually use the adhesive so that you don’t have to continuously have to buy new magnets for you items when you change your phone. How it was usedI bought two one for each car. I use it for my cell phone and IPAD and it is great. Make sure you read the instructions so you know what size magnet you use for what electronic item. What went wrongSo far so good, the part that sticks to the window will leave a mark but a little Windex and it goes away.Would I purchase againI would definitely buy this again. I will probably be looking at buying this for gift during Christmas time.

Finaly found the Perfect Mount.
Exactly what I was looking for. Very sleek, very sturdy. Perfect.Let me start by saying that I make deliveries and use my phone as a GPS. As such I don’t want to leave the phone in the care while making the deliveries, so I wanted something that was easy to remove my phone. I also use a company car that I share so I need to place and remove the mount every day.The first mount I ever bought was a claw type. It had a tack substance on the pad that stuck to the windshield. While it did hold well, it was not easy to remove the mount or the phone from the mount. It required two hands. The next mount was a magnetic vent mount. Better but it failed over time because you never knew what size vent fins you would find.So finally I decided to spend a bit of money (not that much) and got this mount. After the first two days of use I am extremely happy. It solved ALL of my problems. Easy to mount and remove from the windshield. It has no tacky substance on the suction cup. But it hold very firm. I was worried about the long goose neck but it is very ridged. Almost a solid piece of metal. Does not shake at all or very little. But still flexible enough to adjust the position of the mount. Also, the magnet is perfectly strong. Not too hard, not too soft. I have a large phone (OnPlus One, 5.5″ screen) and it did not move or fall off over bumps.Overall very happy. Easy to mount/remove, sturdy, secure. Feels like it was made very well.

I think I’m in love.
The media could not be loaded.
I started off skeptical about this new fad of magnetic device holders, but this thing blew me out of the water. I originally saw it sold at my local Audi dealership for double the price, so I figured it must be worth checking out (elsewhere at a cheaper rate).I selected the lower-profile adhesive dash mount due to the fact that I have a small 2-seater car. The windshield mounts all tend to block your vision. They’re dangerous, bulky and ugly, and California police are able to issue tickets for anything mounted to windshields. No go. The vent clip didn’t seem ideal either, because then your phone is blocking the cool breeze of your A/C on your face. That left the dash mount. My dash is textured, so a regular suction cup mount won’t work, and the weighted mounts are too bulky (again, TINY car problems). This adhesive mount stuck perfectly, and it’s small, so my phone is flush with my dashboard. Maximum visibility while driving. It stuck on within seconds, easy to install. The angle can also be adjusted once it is mounted, something not all magnetic mounts offered, and if you ever want to remove it, just pull it off and you’re good to go.The best part is the included magnets work with any phone case, so you literally just hold your phone up to it and it grabs on. None of the adjusting to get your phone into those stupid cradle mounts. Just stick and go. Can’t beat this thing.
