Too small – revised to: but they are my favorite

I am starting to swim laps and thought this would be a good suit for that. This bathing suit fit fine through the hips but was extremely tight on my legs, especially at the leg opening, which is unusual because my legs are really thin. I returned them and did not try another size – I didn’t think something larger would fit well through the hips. So, kind of a first for me. Nothing has ever been too tight on my skinny legs before…4/17/12 – It’s been 2 years since I posted this review and I’ve learned a lot about swimming and swimming apparel. After I returned these I ended up buying some Speedo jammers size 32 from a local sports store. It doesn’t take long for these to relax a little and soon the 32’s were not quite as tight as I would have liked. When I bought again, I bought the 30s and that’s all I buy now. Yes, they are a little tight when they are new but when they stretch a little, and they will a little, they are fine.As far as quality goes, they are good quality, pretty much like the rest of the Speedo products I have.

    Solid Suit, Indeed!

As a competitive swimmer, I was always encouraged to order a size down, and I continued with that tradition, even though my physique would hardly be called “athletic” these days. The suit is snug, but not too tight, and should last a bit longer as it naturally stretches with use. This is a simple suit, useful for doing laps at the Y. It would be entirely adequate for a master meet or for a swimmer of any age and ability. Only time will tell how quickly it wears out, stretching beyond recognition and becoming transparent as is the fate of all jammers since time immemorial. I rinse it thoroughly in cold, clean tapwater after every use, squeeze (not wring – never wring!) out the excess water, and hang it to dry, which should slow the degradation process. I pair it with my old (Speedo) drag suit, which has somehow managed not to disintegrate as it chugs on well into its second decade of use, though the elastic waist is no longer elastic and it holds tight with the draw string alone.

So far pretty decent; worried about color fade

Fits about as expected from other reviews (went up one size from typical pants), feels good in the water. I doubt the (blue) color will hold for too long. I should have thought that choice through better.

Great To Use Under Board Shorts!

I’m tired of chafing in my board shorts!Man was not meant to fly NOR run around the beach, surfing, swimming, etc. in wet shorts for more than 20 minutes.I started flying when i was 8 years old with my father; It only took me 45 more years to figure out how to fix the latter. These do run snug, more than you’re probably used to (It might have something to do with my preference for boxers), but you’ll get used to them quickly. They also provide a bit of extra warmth and support, while still being very comfortable.Watch out when removing them while wet; they are long and cling to your body – you could trip yourself. The hidden waist string is a bit of a mystery; it’s a way more than enough to tie even if you were eight inches larger than the listed waist size! I found the extra string uncomfortable until I tied a knot at an appropriate length at each end and then cut off the remainder. You may wish to melt the ends to keep it clean but you run the risk of leaving something sharp that will lay against your body. And, they are worth every penny!

A Second Skin and a Pouch.

This suit is great. I do water aerobics and this allows me free movement unlike the trunk style suits.I where a 38 waist and I ordered a 38 which fit well.I did notice that after aerobics I went and sat in the hottub which has a roughened seating area and it casues a obvious wear mark on the rear of the suit. I think I need to be carefull how roughly I rub my rear on the rough stuff. This suit has a front liner which helps to smooth the frontal bulge and make it more diffused. The is a white draw string at the wait. For me the legs are a little long. I have short thights. My inseam is 30. the bottom of the leg comes to right at the top of the knee. The suit feels better in water than when I first tried it on.If it lasts a year I will be happy, I just need to not rub to hard on the hottub seats.UpdateI find that there is not obvious wear from the rough hottub seat. I was seeing a strange abberation from washing them in the shower. Good quality. I will change to a five.

    I love these shorts

This is my first pair of jammers. I love these shorts. They fit snug how they are supposed to, comparable to a football girdle. Yes you can somewhat see the outline of your junk right after putting them on. After walking around for about 1 minute, that goes away for the most part. They have a comfortable liner on the inside for decency. I am comfortable wearing them at the public pool. I train with them a couple times a week at the public pool (chlorinated). Rinse them of in the shower after my swim. They seem durable and I am sure they will last me through the year. I was amazed at the difference in my speed compared to regular swim trunks. I competed in my first biathlon in them. Swam a 300m and then went directly to the 5k run. I didn’t have any chafing which was my biggest concern. Overall great pair of shorts and I will buy them again in the future.

    Looking good

My sons and I all bought the same thing. They look so good that we went to a lot of indoor olympic pools to show off our sexy swim wear. I even want to wear it at home. I read other people’s concerns about the size. So I chose towards my upper limit. It fits well. My 11-year-old normally wears size 12 in school shirts, etc. I read Speedo’s chart, that equals a 26 inches waist line. I got him a 28, fits well. My 14-year-old normally wears size 14, Speedo chart says that equals 28″, I got him a 30, fits well. My own pants’ waist line is somewhere from 30 inches (if I go hungry for a few days) to 32 inches waist line (when I stuff myself a lof of food.) So I bought a 32″ jammer, fits perfectly. So if you are on the slim side, like our family (we are veggetarians), just choose a size larger or your upper limit, the swim suit will fit. I can’t speek for my colleagues and friends who like to cook and enjoy more delicious meals. Then you got to resort to similar weight people’s reviews.
