Perfect fit
These have been great. A perfect fit. They help me feel smooth in the water and they have held up well in the indoor chlorine filled pools I train in.

New Favorite Jammer
I’ve been a swimmer my whole life and have always used jammers. This jammer is perfect. TYR makes quality swimsuits for much cheaper than Speedo.I bought this because it comes in awesome colors, it’s cheap, and its made of nylon and lycra. This jammer feels a lot nicer than polyester ones. However, these nylon suits do not last as long compared to polyester, but these fit better and feel better. Nylon stretches more, making for a comfortable swim. With polyester suits, I always find them to be a little too small and tight, having to constantly adjust them. Just make sure to rinse this after using it and hang it up to dry.I would recommend this jammer to anyone who wants the most comfortable jammer with a cool design. It fits as expected. I wear 32 and bought a 32 with no problem. However, if wearing tight swimwear is not your thing, don’t buy this. It is made for competitive swimmers who want good hydrodynamics and no drag.

Good fit, More around the waist would be a plus
Fits fine. A little more tension around the belt area would reduce reliance on the draw string.

These are good jammers, nice fit and cling to the body.
My son’s swim team used these for competition swimming. They held up through the season and still look good.My only complaint is there was a mild unraveling of the thread in the pair we got but I just cut off the extra thread. Also the logo on the pants peeled off after my son jump in the pool to take pictures for the team – he had not swam in them yet at this point. I would have returned but he couldn’t wait for another pair.

Cut a bit low at the waist
These Jammers run a bit small by typical sizes, and they are a bit shallow between the waist and the crotch, so if you have a butt they’re going to pull down a bit in the back every time you bend over

Lasted 5 months, 3x swims/wk
These splice jammers are decent but not as good as the durafast version which are lined. My kids prefer to have a lining. After 5 months, maybe 500+ hours of swimming, the seams where the color striping is, have start to fray. Still a good brand but I’ll probably splurge on lining and keep an eye on ones that have side stitching.

Worked great for lap swimming
I got into lap swimming in spring 2014 and have used these for about six months. I swim about 3 times a week and I am up to around a mile each time. The shorts held up very well and I could probably keep using them. They are showing some slight signs of wear along the rear seam. Nothing too bad, but time to get a new pair. I am buying the same shorts, just in a different color since they are about $4 less. I don’t really care what color so cheaper makes sense. But overall I have been very happy with the shorts.

Doesn’t hold up – Buy the Tyr Duralast Jammer suit instead!
I am a big fan of Tyr Jammer suits. They last a long time, and they fit pretty well. When you first get them, they are a little bit hard to get on and tight, but I feel like that gets better after a few swims. Nothing is worse than a good suit for swimming that is too big.My last similar Tyr suit lasted almost 3 years of swimming 2 times a week. I also didn’t wash it as much as I should, so the chlorine damage was even more aggressive.UPDATE: The suit that I received was washed out within 8 uses. I had purchased the black/blue suit, and it is now a Gray and light blue suit.See attached picture. I took a picture of the new suit (Blue) next to a Tyr Duralast suit (Red.) The black level is just sad, and as you can see, the Blue has also faded dramatically.Search for the TYR Sport Men’s Alliance Durafast Splice Jammer Swim Suit and buy that one instead if you want a suit to last more than 8 swims. Also the Duralast does better when it is thrown in a light wash cycle.

it might be perfect.
I saw a review that said don’t size up. I’m 65 and don’t really want (or need) excess body bulging over the edges. My normal size would have been very, very tight. One size up is snug. I suppose if you’re 17 and racing, it might be perfect.

Exactly what we were looking for!
Been looking to replace these for my dad. He had one pair and he swims multiple times per week. His old one was worn out. He only wanted this EXACT one. Finally found it on Amazon for father’s day! He loved it so much we ended up buying a couple more!

Attractive, well made. Order the right size.
Though I normally buy 34″ waist jeans, I bought this 36″ waisted swimsuit. Who am I kidding? My waist really isn’t 34 inches! So, don’t be fooled by the marketing of many brands which caters to our egos. Measure your waist and order that size. They are attractive, flattering, well made. They have held up well for me.

Jammers for swimming
My son has a linear, muscled build and wears a 33 waist jean. He is just over 6′ and likes the length. These are tight but he has worn them and thinks they will stretch just a tad with wear. He likes them. If wearing for competition, you will want them pretty snug anyway. If not, just order up a size.

Loose Crouch
I’m 6’4″, 210lbs, and I wear a size 36. I wanted this jammer to be nice and tight so I bought a size 34. To my surprise the fit around the waist and in the crouch was not a tight as I’d prefer but the fit above the knee was perfect. All around, it’s fine.

Comfortable and functional jammer swimsuit for fitness swimming. I does what it’s supposed to do. I continue to order these a size up based on feedback that the leg grippers are snug, and that is still the case. Nice and well made suit.

Son wears as practice jammers for club swimming. They fit as expected, so far he’s had them for 3 months, with no signs of wear. (Jammers have a tendency to fade quickly)

seem to fit very small
I don’t know, I bought a pair of 30’s for my 12 year old, as he wears 28 wasted pants No way can he get these on. Surprised someone here at 210lbs says they fit “with a bit of tightness on the crotch” the 34’s. If the 30’s are this small, I’m hesitant to try a 32 and obviously the 34 would be way to big if someone at 210 is wearing them..So these are going back.

All wet and liking it.
I have used these now for about 6 months. The fit is snug and there has been no stretching or fading. The only issue is that the small white logo on the leg bottom has started to come off which is no big deal to me. The fabric feels light and dries fairly quickly. I would buy again.

Swimmingly well
Held up pretty well for being worn every day for 2 months. Wear and tear was obvious by the time the season was over. Definitely a better buy here, then at swim shops. Same brand and fit as store.

All other reviews seem correct. Great quality but nearly uncomfortably snug – even after the 10th swim. Not sure what going a size up will do, but I would suggest that. Otherwise – good product.

Fits at waist but leg openings a bit tight.
I am a 34 waist and purchased the 34. They fit as expected – tight but right. The leg openings could be a bit larger as the rolled seem at the end leaves a red mark on my quads.

Bought these for my husband who swims laps 2-3 times a week and he loves them! He’s on his second pair. But order a little bigger than what the size chart recommends.

Nice, but the blue faded fast
After a cluple months of use The item still fits nicely and performs very well. I particularly like the draw string. My only gripe is the bright blue side accents are now powder blue. That’s the only reason I knocked a start off.

It’s nice. Feels abit tight a the bottom of quad. I actually ran with these. 7.5 miles. I averaged 6:13 min/miles. I guess that say enough. Of course, it’s good to wear in the water as well. Race or training

Great item does run small
They fit my 10 year old boy, so they say Men’s but they are on the small side. I imagine they would sit really low on a larger men’s body that has gone through changes.

faded to pale grey and white in three months
Purchased a black and royal blue suit for my husband who swims 1 hour 7 days/week. Within a few weeks it was noticeably faded and at three months is pale grey with dirty while stripes. The now discontinued Phoenix splice suits had a problem with the seams fading and eventually shredding, but were good for wear for many more months than this and the body of the suits retained their colors.

Same item as from official website
I purchased one of these from the manufacturers website. They didn’t have the size I needed for my older son so I came here to order it. This item arrived first and when the one that was shipped directly arrived I compared them. They are exactly the same so I am happy with the purchase. If I find that it does not hold up I will update my review. The swim season is long but they only wear this pair for actual meets.

Good fit and feel. Size 32
I found this swimsuit to fit as expected. I wear size 32 waist and the suit was true to size. I have thin legs so the thigh area is snug but not too tight. The suit is short waisted, not like bike shorts so they fit low on your waist. The liner is sufficient and the draw string at the waist is sturdy. I like the design. They are comfortable to swim in. I gave them a 4 since I have yet to see how well they hold up in chlorinated pool water.

After 5 swims blue thread is already red
Not impressed with the quality. Have swam in them 5 times. I know the pool I swim in is very cholorinated. But immedatley after getting out I jump in the shower and rinse off. After I get home I hand wash and hang dry. Despite this the the blue thread is already turned red. compared to arena and speedo endurance these are poorer quality. I wont buy again after this season.

The blue “jammer” stripes faded out in about two months, stretching out too fast.
This is my third TYR “jammer” swimsuit. Both of my earlier ones lasted just under a year, needing replacement after stretching out. I swim an average of 5-6 days a week at a YMCA pool. Neither of the first two suits seemed to fade at all. With this current one, the blue jammer stripe is faded to a light baby blue in about two months. Even the black portion is looking grey. Disappointing performance. Is it the recycled nylon material? Update at 3.5 months: continues to fade, and is stretching out faster than expected. Crotch area is now loose fitting, especially notice when kick boarding. Would NOT recommend this suit, or the use of recycled nylon. Do not buy!!!!!

Review Update
An Update: While this suit looks great (gives a chiseled look) and is comfortable, it only lasts about 3 months of lap-swimming before it wears out and becomes transparent. We had to buy several of them last year because of this. So we switched to TYR’s Durafast line of suits. Those are both attractive and nearly indestructable (so far). And they’re the same price range, so you can’t go wrong there. We’re buying the Durafast now in both the men’s and women’s suits.

thin, delicate material, DO NOT GET WHITE STRIPE!!!
My previous suit was a Speedo Endurance jammer. This Tyr Alliance has much thinner material than the Speedo, and feels less secure and less durable. It isn’t as form fitting as my Speedo was… it bags a little, and water gets between my skin and the suit when I push off the wall, making it feel like it has slipped off. On the plus side, with the Speedo’s form fit came a sense of restricted movement, which the Tyr does not have. Also on the plus side, the white stays opaque when wet. For my comparison between my old Speedo and this Tyr, both are size 34… I fall somewhere in the 34-36 range, with relatively large quads for my waist size, so I was expecting a tighter fit. The fit is fine when dry, but seems to bag up a little when wet.update:DO NOT GET WHITE STRIPE: I got the white striped version because it was less expensive. After wearing this for 6 weeks of practices 2/3 times per week the stripe has developed a yellow/brown stain that won’t come off even with Shout stain remover.Much to my dismay, the washing instructions for this suit are ridiculous, as they expect you to treat the suit like it is a delicate, fragile material that can’t handle detergents. I will be switching back to Speedo Endurance soon, as I do not expect this suit to last much longer. 2-3 months of use before it is unusable is pathetic.

Customer service with The Lifeguard Store has been nothing but excellent. Very helpful and very quick to respond
Returned this product for a lager size. Customer service with The Lifeguard Store has been nothing but excellent. Very helpful and very quick to respond. The Jammer itself is a solid design. The stitching was good the colors are pretty accurate in the picture, the thing I worry the most about is how thin the fabric is, and I can say that even with pulling them tight and holding it up to a light I could barely see any light coming through.

Still in great shape after 4 months of everyday usage!
My son is on a swim team. He has been wearing these everyday M-F for an hour a day for the last 4 months. And weekends. Every piece of these swimmers is still in tact. I would recommend to size up though. Yes they are compression shorts, but even then the compression seemed like he could’ve went a size up so that his little stomach isn’t super super pressed. It still worked and even then the elasticity is in great shape! I would most definitely purchase again!!! I’m amazed it’s gone this far being used every.single.day.

Colors faded after about 6 swim sessions
Overall I liked the style, fit and comfort of these swim shorts. What I didn’t like was how quickly they faded to a dull black and blue. They are still useable but look like they are many years old. I have been swimming in the same pool for many years and my other shorts held up fine. Must be something in the fabric or dye that makes it susceptible to fading.

I find the fit to be very low on the back waistband and smaller than expected.
I find the fit to be very low on the back waistband and smaller than expected. If you normally have a 34 waistband you should order the 36.The material has done very well although the color was quick to fade. It started out as a bright blue stripes and they are now baby blue. The black is starting to fade as well but better than I expected. I have been impressed with the elasticity of the material as it continues to keep its stretch-ability without becoming overstretched.I swim for over an hour 3-4 days each week or over 5 miles/week. I rinse and wash my suit with shampoo every day without wringing the suit. I never put my suit into the dryer but always hang dry it.

Quality product but runs small
As some other reviewers have written, these run in the small side, especially around the legs. My thighs are neither tree trunks nor twigs, but these things are almost uncomfortably TIGHT in the lower band above the knees. My suggestion is to go a size up. Still, a nice quality product for the money. If they last as ling as my last TYR jammers, it’s money very well spent.

Good swimwear for my young son taking advanced swimming lessons.
It has to be bit tight to fit the body shape. Reduces hydrodynamic drag. Have to handle carefully and never touch it with the Velcro as it will damage the surface and pull out some fibers.

Nice jammers, a little on the small side
These are a really nice pair of jammers and I believe when I was reading the description it said they are somewhat tight and act almost like compression shorts and they are right, these things are for people that don’t have much muscle definition in their legs. They are so tight I have to get them over my knees and then wiggle my whole body to work them up to my waist. I would buy a size up if you are not on the slim side.
