The SCX6 Jeep JLU Wrangler 4WD takes Axial “scaling” to the next level. Based on the proven SCX10 III, the SCX6 chassis might be considered its big brother. It’s engineered for extreme durability and performance with AR90 axles. For optimal handling, the chassis has a three-link Panhard front and four-link rear suspension setup. The transmission offers high and low gears out of the box, with a Spektrum S614 Metal-Gear Servo included and installed for the two-speed linkage.
While the 1/6 scale size allows more room for impressive detail, the SCX6 Jeep JLU Wrangler 4WD still fits conveniently into the trunk of your car — and most rock gardens and hiking trails provide plenty of exciting challenges to overcome. As you navigate the trails, you’ll admire how well the Jeep JLU Wrangler body reproduces its full-size counterpart. Even the most demanding Jeep enthusiasts will appreciate the accuracy of the details molded throughout. When the sun goes down, LED headlights and taillights add even more realism.
Massive, 7″ tall BFGoodrich KM3 tires provide excellent grip and ground clearance for dirt, rocks, and all other off-road surfaces. They’re mounted on licensed Black Rhino Primm injection-molded, 3-piece beadlock wheels so that the tires can be removed and replaced easily without gluing. Forest, desert, lake, mountains…the SCX6 Jeep JLU Wrangler 4WD is ready to go anywhere.
With the included Spektrum DX3 radio, you’ll enjoy the superior range, response, and interference resistance of exclusive DSMR technology. Together with the installed Firma Crawler 120A Smart Sensored-Brushless ESC, it also comes ready to deliver the telemetry advantages of exclusive Spektrum Smart technology. SCX6 CHASSIS
Based on the proven SCX10 III layout, the 1/6 scale SCX6 takes durability, functionality, and performance to the next level with features that include a steel chassis, 4-wheel drivetrain, multi-link suspension, AR90 axles, oil-filled shocks, and more.
TWO-SPEED METAL GEAR TRANSMISSION
Out of the box, the Axial SCX6 Jeep JLU Wrangler 4WD RTR is configured for two speeds with high and low gears. A Spektrum S614 Metal-Gear Servo is included for the two-speed linkage.
3-LINK FRONT/4-LINK REAR SUSPENSION
For optimal handling, the SCX6 suspension features a durable three-link front and four-link rear setup.

SPEKTRUM S905 STEERING SERVO
Included and installed, the waterproof Spektrum S905 Large-Scale Metal-Gear Servo produces impressive torque (537.72 oz-in at 6V, 555.50 oz-in at 7V) for responsive, dependable steering control. The chassis will also accept larger 1/5 scale servos, if desired, with the included adapter.
BFGOODRICH KM3 TIRES

MULTIPLE BATTERY MOUNTING LOCATIONS

Fun
All I can say is it it fun. I got the spectrum batteries so the remote let’s you know how much battery is left. This thing has some weight to it so knowing your battery limit helps.Very nice looking jeep. Body is a little difficult getting on correctly but you get use to it.I have some 1/10 Crawlers and this one’s makes the others look like kids toys.

Getting the body off and on the chassis is a major hassle. I bought the scx10iii wrangler as my very first rc car. Within a week I bought the gladiator, and by the end of the month I pulled the trigger on the scx6. I absolutely love all 3.

Exactly what I expected

DO NOT LEAVE BATTERYS IN CAR OVERNIGHT. KILLED 2 BATTERIES. If youre going to buy this truck, save yourself some money in batteries destroyed and buy the spektrum smart batteries like you should have in the first place. Other than that, Having also owning the scx10iii and a couple scx24s this is exactly what I expected it to be.The other day I was driving my scx10iii and it kept getting stuck in the snow so I ordered one of these, pleased to say, doesn’t get stuck in the snow nearly as often. Probably about an inch or two of somewhat compacted, hiking trail snow and it can stop and start on its own most of the time with occasional help.Crawls great. The video wasn’t the best because I was using 1 hand but if you only have one hand I hope it’s your left hand. You’ll be all set with this thing.Some people complain that it’s plastic, yeah, they’re all plastic, if it were metal it would weigh more than it does and it weighs a lot already. 25lbs or so.Even with all of the plastic components I don’t expect to break anything any time soon. My 10iii has been badly abused by myself and my 5 year old nephew who loves to intentionally crash it and roll it over, I have never had any of the plastic pieces on that truck break.Battery, a 3300mah 3 cell will get you about 25min of run time, crawling and full throttle mixed. So something like a 5000mah battery will probably get you around 40min. Compared to the 10iii which gets you like 2 I Nathan Crowell authorize the following hours for week ending of run time off of 3300mahIt it worth $1100? to me it is. If you’ve never had an RC crawler before i’d reccomend getting a 24th or a 10th before this one, but if you like both of those, just go ahead and get this one too. Won’t regret it, your lipos on the other hand might.

Battery straps to small
For 1100, you’d expect it to be ready to go anywhere virtual. I thought that, after buying bigger batteries straps to make it work with my battery, I got it running. I was going to run for about an hour or so, the first half was great then it stopped driving, still turned but no driving. I may be a novice, but 1100 bucks should mean I shouldn’t have to fix something on the very first run. Very disappointing and sending back.

Very powerful, decent range & battery life
The Jeep is very powerful and fast, and the suspension works great! Overall I’m impressed and would recommend, although it seems kind of pricey for what it is.

Leaks
It’s a cool truck, but whomever built mine added too much oil. It constantly drips. I’m not a fan of the tires either. Too soft. I also believe for the price, more metal could have been used. Plastic gets eaten up.

A lot of issues for a $1099 rig
Tires have flat spots out of the box that did not correct the foam is way to soft.Turning is off will have to remove and recenter servo horn.Running boards started drooping 2 days out of the box.The plastic axle housings are super soft and literally gouge in 57 gravel playing in the driveway.The remote does not let you adjust end points the battery level only works with specific batteries.Shocks are already leaking after 5 runs.The list goes on….Not impressed

Husband is obsessed
The media could not be loaded.
My husband is obsessed with his new toy. He has been wanting it forever and I got it for him for Christmas. You have to buy the battery and charger separate so be prepared to spend more money.

This thing is a beast
The Scx6 Jeep from axial is a beast, big and heavy at around 25lbs but its simply amazing to see the new capabilities this thing has over the smaller scale vehicles, it crawls over anything. It’s pretty fast too given the size. I didn’t have any issues for the 3 months I’ve had it. The only thing i would suggest is to carry an extra battery just in case it dies on you to be able to drive it back instead of carrying it as it can get heavy depending on the distance you’ve driven.

Great Crawler. but mine had some issues out of the box.
When I first tried mine the transmission was clicking very loud. Videos of other SCX6s online did not sound like mine did. I was going to send it back to Amazon but decided to contact Horizon Hobby first (distributor). They asked me to go ahead and open up the transmission had see how much grease was in it. I found it was under greased and they had me re-grease it. I also found the set screw that holds the pinion gear to the motor was loose and was sliding back and forth on the motor shaft. It had no loctite on it. After I put it back together it still made noise but not as bad. I have run one 5200 mah pack through it now and the noise is getting better as the transmission wears in. It has a two year warranty so if it does pack in this was all documented. Otherwise this thing is a beast, I love it! I don’t even want to take my 1/10th crawlers out now as all I want to do is run this. It is unbelievable how well this can crawl up stuff for the size and weight of it.
