Been wearing dickie pants for a while now, didn’t realize how comfortable their jackets are. Stylish, warm, comfortable

Well made jacket, good value for the money. Sizing is an issue.

Sizing is an issue. I am 6′-1″, 230 lb., 36/37″ sleeves, 17-1/2″ neck and broad shoulders. I usually take an XL Tall, which is also what the sizing chart recommended. This is supposed to be an Eisenhower jacket, which only extends to the waist, but on me it extends 5″ below the belt. Also the sleeves are very long, extending 3″ beyond my wrist. The body and shoulders fit relatively well and only slightly large. On me it fits like a regular jacket, not a shorter Eisenhower type. I roll the sleeves back, creating cuffs, which look OK. Worn over a chamois shirt the body fit is perfect. Over a light shirt, a bit large. It may shrink a little when washed so it may work itself out.I should have ordered an XL Regular, which would shorten the length and sleeves a bit. If I had dropped down to a Large Regular it might have improved the sleeve and length issue even more but may have been a bit tight in the body and shoulders.Overall, a well made jacket and a good value. I will keep it. Be careful with sizing though, it runs a bit large and very long.

The sleeves and wrists on the jacket are extra wide

The wrists on this jacket were very wide and the button would have to be moved in over an inch to fit my average size wrists. Much different than my old Dickies jacket that I was replacing.

Fits better after I sized down

Great looking Dickies ike jacket and well constructed sturdy jacket to last years. I’m 5’9″ 200 lbs 44″ Chest with love handles😋and I mostly wear XL shirts and jackets. I’ve had a black Ike jacket in XL for a few years now and it always felt too bulky. So I finally got around to trying a Large in the Moss color and it fits way better, and looks fantastic! Still a little bulky, but more tailored looking as you can see in my pics where I compare the Black XL version and the Moss Large version. Also showing the zipper closed where I still have room for my belly and shoulders in the Large. So I recommend sizing down unless you want a relaxed fit or plan to add really thick layers under the jacket. I was also worried the moss color would be too light but it’s not as you can see in my pictures. I also show the inside pocket with my regular sized wallet inside and has room for more. Dickies make great quality garments and overall I’m very happy with my purchase😁!

A nice solid three season jacket

Finding a decent quality 2XLT jacket can be a problem. I bought this to replace an older microfiber jacket from Nordstroms that I’d worn for years. This jacket has a heavier lining with some light insulation that makes if fine for fall-winter-spring here in Southern California. The jacket is well made–the “hand” on the exterior cloth is a bit rough–but then I’m comparing it to microfiber. Still it looks good. I removed the Dickies label on the bottom front of the jacket–I’m not in to giving “free advertising” on clothes I’ve bought and paid for. Easy enough–the label was just sewn on. I expect I’ll get years of good wear out of this jacket.

    The sizes run small

I ordered a xx shop jacket for a new shop job that didn’t provide uniforms,I same size jacket from my previous job and that xx was baggy , plenty of for a flannel if needed . the jacket was more like a extra large, the quality of the jacket was excellent , I just wish I exchanged it when I had the chance

    Fine But For Outer Fabric

I am 6’5″ tall and weigh 180 lbs. I am also 90 years of age, but in decent shape, considering the wear and tear. Taking a wild guess, I bought the only big-tall size in the drop-down list, size Large Tall. The color I chose is black. Note: a more extensive list of big-tall sizes would be welcome for someone like me.To my relief, when I tried the jacket on it fit surprisingly well. The length, shoulder width and sleeve length are good. Some might consider the sleeves a bit long (the cuffs extend half way down my hands), but I am happy. I wear the garment with both waistband buttons in the snugger button holes. The lining fabric is soft and pleasant. However, the outer, or shell fabric is quite stiff and a bit harsh to the touch. I don’t know if the outer fabric will soften with wearing and washing, but I can live with it, because it is well-constructed and tightly woven, and should wear well. My wife, whose opinion is important, likes the design of the jacket a lot. If the shell fabric were softer this garment would have earned five stars instead of four.

    Weatherproof, odd cut

I needed a medium weight jacket that can stand up to rain. Only tested in light showers but it worked very well.Perfect when it is 53 degrees, showers and I’m watching the kid at a game. The fit. Just ok. 3XL fits around the stomach but a little short on length. Sleeves. Tad long. I’m average height and tubby in the belly. Just seems slightly off. Not enough gif me to return but wouldn’t buy again.

    Kept Me Warm And Slaying

I got this jacket and although it is a bit big on me, I still kept it for a baggy ish look. I was able to tighten it a bit with the buttons on the waist and folding up the arms. Its a very sturdy jacket so just keep that in mind looks wise. Has a fun inside pocket that I dont get a lot of time, so when I wear that jacket it has enough room to carry the essential “purse items”. As well as a small pocket on the arm, for whatever reason. But its a classic look to add to the wardrobe that I still use to this day.

Great Jacket, keeps me warm and looks good too.

I have used this brand Jacket for years. I love the way they look. They feel light weight, durable material for working in any situation on the field. Looks so professional too. I am going to embroider my company name on the back and my name on the chest area. I love this jacket. I bought the charcoal jacket. It runs a little big for a Large. I hope it shrinks over time. I bought a medium years ago and it shrunk so it’s a bit tight now. I still use it but its too tight when I wear a hoodie under it. This jacket looks cleaner and lighter than the Carhartt jacket. It’s just as warm and easier to clean if you get grease on it.

    Many mistakes were made.

I’m a big guy with a long waist. I got the 3xl long and the only thing long was the sleeves. The waist and chest were the same as the normal 3xl. The sleeves went a good 4 inches past my fingertips. Also, I ordered the grey version and received the khaki which looked really good to my surprise. I would’ve kept it if the sleeves weren’t stupidly long. I returned it and got the normal 3xl.

You don’t have to be a president to rock this.

Some pieces of clothing never go out of style. A good pair of Levi’s…Chuck Taylors…there’s a short list of things that will always look good no matter what year it is. Add the Eisenhower jacket to that list. This jacket is classic with a couple of groups, from punk rockers to the everyday worker.Right out of the box, the jacket is stiffer than Peter North. You’re going to want to wear this thing for a few hours to break it in unless you want to throw it in the washing machine right off the bat. I was worried that it might be a little big on me, based on the sizing chart on Dickies’ site. Luckily, it fits perfectly! I’m 5’11” 155lbs, 40 inch chest, 30.5 inch waist and went with a Medium if that helps anyone. Wearing it zipped or unzipped, the jacket is comfortable and looks good. I love the inside pocket, big enough to hold most phones or your wallet. You can even adjust the waist a little bit with an additional set of buttons on the waistband they provided. The quilted lining i a nice touch. It’s not too thick but makes it a little more comfy on the inside. This jacket would be ideal for cool or windy days, but isn’t going to help out much if you have cold winters. It’s just a good lightweight jacket to have around.I went with black, but I think the dark navy and charcoal look really good too. You can’t go wrong with this jacket. If you work at one of those picky places that won’t let you wear a sweater or jacket unless it’s plain or one color, this would be a great option.

    My boyfriend didn’t like it

I bought this jacket for my boyfriend because he has a bunch of coats but no jackets. He tried it on and said it sits too low at the bottom. He likes for his jackets to fall below the waist but this one does not. I can’t really give it a bad rating because it looks like a decent jacket to me and we like Dickies products.

Cheap zipper and it rides up in the back

I had to return the jacket because it rode up the back. I was hoping for a looser Eisenhower jacket but it pretty much showed my underwear if I lifted my arms even slightly. I also feel like I’d have destroyed the zipper quickly. Seemed very loose. I like the lining and the cut though. I just need a hip length coat for my body I guess.

    Great Fit

Classic design and built to last. The fit is on point. Amazon recommended a small, but I went with a medium. I think a small one would have been too snug. I was initially worried that the sleeves would be too long/big, but the length and size are just right. The sleeves rest slightly below my wrist but do not cover my whole hand. For reference, I am about 6’0 and weigh about 160-165, average build.

Durable jacket, correct proportions, Size as expected.

So this is my 3rd Dickies jacket in this style. I am used to the fit, and knew what to expect when ordering, so there were no surprises here. This is the insulated version, so it is a little warmer than the cheaper non insulated version. Do yourself a favor and choose this one over the non insulated version. The non insulated jacket is no warmer than a thin flannel shirt. This one actually holds in some heat. This is by no means a heavy jacket, however. Im a skinny guy, so I get cold in the 60s and 70s. This jacket provides enough warmth for me down to the 40s. But in the 60s, if I’m working/moving around, it actually gets a bit hot.So, yes it is a “light” jacket, but not so light that it wont do any good in the 40s and 50s. Also it’s not too heavy (in my opinion) for temperatures in the 60s.The lining is like a polyester type, very smooth and feels good on the arms. I prefer this to cotton or wool type linings. This is only preference, but just thought you should know, in case you prefer the more cotton type lining. So the fitment is probably what you are most curious about. This style of jacket is short and meant to be more fitted than other jackets. The sleeves come to your wrist (with average arm length). The bottom of the jacket stops at the waist, maybe slightly above depending on your torso length. If you’re wearing the correct size jacket, when you move, this jacket may feel “too small” for you. Meaning the sleeves will come above your wrists when stretching your arms, or the bottom will rise above your waist line. You will feel it slightly constricting shoulder movement. If this is what you want, then order the correct size. If you prefer a little more breathing/movement room, then order the next size UP.Just for reference, I’m 5’11” 145 pounds, fairly skinny. I wear a small in most jackets, small-medium t-shirts, small work shirts/uniform shirts. But I don’t like baggy shirts and jackets. So a small in this Dickies jacket is perfect for me. If you are about the size of me, and prefer more fitted shirts and jackets, then the small should be good for you. If you like them more baggy, then go with the medium. This theory should work across the spectrum in all the sizes. If you like fitted coats, then get the size you would normally get. If you like them more loose and baggy, then get the next size up.All in all this is a great buy on a very durable jacket. I work on cars for a living so this jacket gets daily use and abuse throughout the fall and winter. Even with all the abuse, I still get a few years out of these jackets. That’s not to say they are worn out after a few years, they just get so stained and faded, it’s time to get a new one. But at this price point, you could get a couple at a time, and wear them forever.Oh an one more thing. If you’re looking at other work jackets on Amazon, you may notice many of them say the proportions are all screwed up…Like oversized arms or torso areas. Weird proportions that make you like Popeye or something. The Dickies jacket IS NOT like that. If you get the correct size, you will not look weird like you may with other brand jackets.

Not that warm – Zipper broke after 3 or months of use.

Fits tight, not as warm as you would think as they describe. Downgraded from 3 stars to 1 star. Nine months later the zipper is broke rendering the jacket useless. Didn’t wear it during summer so actually only got about 3 or 4 months out of it and of course didn’t wear it every day.

jacket has certainly changed since my last one in 2004

this jacket runs a bit large. i have a small in the non-lined as well as lined from 15 years ago and the new jacket is a bout half size larger. could be the other two shrank with time as they are of a very different material. the new material is very ‘rubbery’ and more rigid even after a wash and dry. will see how long the quilting inside retains its integrity.addition of interior pocket a nice touch. interesting in that dickies now has slightly contrasting stitching around the collar. runs a bit large. typical jackets i would be between a small and a medium. this jacket fits like a medium so has room to add an additional hoodie or other thick jacket underneath to fill the gap inside.again, the materil feels strange but also more rugged, synthetic feel than the earlier generations.the smell of chemicals is strong when opened. seems to the the smell of the poly filling on the interior.have ‘airing out’ for a coupld days in the other room.fit is good and im sure it will last another 10 years.
