Good for a charge or two.
I use this for work as a charging option. It is good for a few charges and sufficient for my needs. A major pro is the incorporated USB charging. It does charge fairly quick off 120v outlet.

Charge a Modern Smartphone 1 to 2 times
I like the fact that Goal Zero has always delivered quality construction, dependability and support in all they do. This Flip 24 delivers the power as requested for a Modern Smartphone. I have a Motorola off-shoot, and it went from 10% to full charge in 30 minutes with half of the power bank leftover.

Best I’ve found.
Great battery, good amount of power for its size. My only complaint is the USB charger is a bit awkward, but it didn’t stop me from buying a second one. I use it for camping and backpacking.

Quickly charges phone – great for backpacking
I bought this power bank for overnight and multi-day backpacking trips. Works just as I had hoped – charges my iPhone quickly and doesn’t add a ton of weight to my pack. Great product!

Works well
Connected it to my nomad solar panel and put it in full sun. I didn’t check it for a couple hours but it was charged up, indicator blue dots all lit up. It charged an I pad and an I phone to full and had left over energy. I’m happy with it.

Will charge my iPad or MacBook Air in a pinch…
I bought the Goal Zero Flip 24 primarily as a compact, fast charging battery bank solution for my iPhone on the go. With its 24Wh (6700mAh) capacity I can get about two full phone recharges, which is more than sufficient for my daily needs. The Flip 24 also supports pass through charging. Which means I can charge my phone from the Flip 24, while the Flip 24 is being recharged. Not all battery banks can do this. With 2.1A (10.5W max) output, I have tested and confirmed that it will charge my iPad or MacBook Air in a pinch. Just a boost though, given its battery capacity.I plan to add a Goal Zero Nomad 5 solar panel to my kit. The Flip 24 snaps on the rear of the Nomad 5 for an integrated solar charging solution, that you can attach to your backpack to recharge via solar on the go. The Flip 24 is for my daily use. The Nomad 5 is for more for my emergency preparedness… example if I get lost on a hike for days/weeks, I’ll still have a charged phone, charged flashlight, etc…. just in case. The Flip comes in two other sizes.1) Flip 12 – 1A (5W max) 12 Wh (3350 mAh): Slower charging; Good for 1 phone recharge; Will not charge iPad or MacBook Air.2) Flip 36 – 2.1A (10.5W max) 36Wh (10,050mAh): Fast charging like the Flip 24; Good for 3 phone recharges; The additional capacity will be useful if you need to recharge a tablet. The Flip 12 was not sufficient for my needs. And the Flip 36 was heavier and more capacity than I needed. But you might want to consider these other Flips based on your needs. The Flip 12 and Flip 36 are also compatible with the Nomad 5.Great product. Would buy it again.

Great for travel but charging can be improved
This is a great charger and perfect size for traveling. I mainly use it to charge my phone and earbuds. My only gripe about this charger is that the charging method is somewhat of a pain. Because you have to flip up the USB charging port, you run the risk of having it fall off of a charging block if you choose to plug it directly. Using an adapter solves this problem, but I just wish it was designed better.

This is my second Goal Zero
I was so impressed with my Venture 30 I purchased this power bank for my EDC survival organizer. I really don’t buy anything that’s not rechargeable so having multiple power banks to charge my electronics is a must. I can’t say enough good things about this product. It’s small and compact and gets the job done.

Charges phone fast
Great product for charging phone while camping for the weekend in the middle of nowhere. Still had almost 4 bars of battery life after taking tons of photos and using wildlife app. You can also hook up this battery pack with a foldable solar panel with usb port to recharge the battery pack so you never run out of battery life on your phone for extended hiking / backpacking trips. Love this portable power bank!

Questionable pass thru charging.
The product description for the Flip24 states that it has pass through charging, which means that the Flip24 can be getting charged, while at the same time supplying power to another device. I tested this using the Flip24 with a USB meter attached to the Flip24’s output USB connector to measure the current provided to the load. For loads, I tested a Goal Zero Guide Ten+ battery charger with 4 NiMH AA batteries installed, a Goal Zero Venture 30 power bank, and an iPhone SE. For the Guide 10+, the measured current delivered was 0.82 amps while the Flip24 was being charged, and 0.83 amps when the Flip24 was not being charged. I’d say that is pretty good pass through charging as the two values are nearly the same. For the Venture 30, the measured current delivered was 0.0019 amps while the Flip24 was being charged, and 1.45 amps when the Venture 30 was not being charged. In this case, the charging current was greatly reduced while the Flip24 was being charged versus not being charged. That is not what I would call pass through charging. For the iPhone SE at about 90% charge, and the wifi and hotspot activated for maximum iPhone battery drain, the measured current delivered was 0.045 amps while the Flip24 was being charged, and 0.89 amps when the Flip24 was not being charged. In this case, the charging current was greatly reduced while the Flip24 was being charged versus not being charged. That is not what I would call pass through charging. I have no idea why there is so much variation in the pass through charging performance between the different loads of the Goal Zero Guide 10+ compared to the Goal Zero Venture 30 and iPhone SE. My desired application for the Flip24 was to charge the Flip24 using a solar panel attached to my backpack, with the Flip24 charging my iPhone. The Flip24 was to maintain charging while the solar panel might be in the shade, or during cloud cover. Clearly the Flip24 will not perform well at all in that application. One will have to charge the Flip24 with the solar panel, and then charge the iPhone later. BTW, the Goal Zero Venture 30 doesn’t suffer from the pass through problem like the Flip24. All loads I tested with the Venture 30 have nearly the same amount of current delivered while the Venture 30 was being charged and not being charged. Weird that two power banks from the same company would perform differently, as one would expect some commonality in the circuit design. I wanted to use the Flip24 for its lighter weight in the backpacking application, but it really isn’t suitable for iPhone charging with a solar panel during the trek.

lighttweight
Have not used “in the field” which is the intent when backpacking, so do not know how long it holds the charge. But I did charge it up and charge my phone with it, and it worked as indicated. Only disappointment was the flip out port to charge it; seems like it could easily be a broken part down the road.Size and weight is awesome.

USB Port is Fatal Flaw
I bought three of these for a trek to Philmont along with two Nomad 5 solar panels for me and my son. The folding USB port is a fatal flaw to the device as it is very precariously connected to the power bank. It was the only piece of gear on the entire trek to fail. (The Nomad 5w solar panel worked fine.) The first USB plug snapped off trying to plug into the panel to test it before we even left. The second one broke on the trek when putting on my pack while the power bank was connected to the solar panel hanging off my pack. The slightest hit laterally and it pops out of the panel and ripped the USB plug off. If you get this, never use while actually hiking, only set it up once you get to camp.

Good product overall, however don’t make the same mistakes I did.
I bought this thinking the model is powered by solar, it is not. You have to buy panels in addition. So far the power pack has been good although you are supposed to get 2 full cell phone charges I only get 1 1/2.

Design of USB input is unstable when charging
Goal Zero is usually a reliable brand so I didn’t read the reviews on this before purchasing. The only stable way I found to charge it was to plug the flimsy USB into my yeti power bank which makes the charger useless for travel. There’s a separate charging gadget that the company sells but it has to be plugged into a wall. I returned this product, thank you Amazon for your holiday return schedule that gave me time to evaluate the usefulness of the portable charger.

Precarious USB connector
This seems like a pretty decent battery pack. It gives my Android phone about two full charges. The housing is made of metal and feels pretty solid. The only odd thing is the full size USB connector used for charging the pack. It swivels out on a hinge. When you plug it into a charger the weight of the entire battery pack hangs on what seems to be a delicate hinge. It feels like it will most certainly break sooner rather than later. The best way to charge the pack is by using an extender USB cable.

Should really only be charged with the compatible solar panel.
It’s ok. It doesn’t fully charge my phone (but that’s ok sometimes) it’s a great size and easy to charge my phone while it’s in my pocket on hikes. Unfortunately, it has this really odd design with the USB plug in.Its *not* sturdy. This is my second one because the first USB part broke almost right away. I bought it again only bc it’s compatible with my Goal Zero Nomad. And that’s all I can and will charge this one on. If trying to plug it in any other charger, the weight of the device will break the male USB connector.

Reliable Light Weight External Power Bank
This is my second GoalZero power bank, and it has performed very well for my travel needs. It is light weight for travel, and gives about two phone charges, which has been OK so far. I use a 220 to 110 VAC converter for Europe, which has worked well, but I would avoid trying to recharge this GoalZero unit directly from a 220VAC source. Also, please be aware that you will need a USB female to male adapter to charge iPhones with the GoalZero.

Totally unsuitable for backpacking. For stationary camping, it would probably be fine.
I purchased this for an extended trek. My intent was to charge it with a solar panel from the same manufacturer. The battery is supposed to clip into the panel. I hung the panel from my backpack. On the first use, the battery kept popping out and finally it pulled the connector broke off in the panel, making it impossible to recharge.I basically got two hours use out of it before it broke off. In that time, under partly cloudy conditions, it charged from 50% to 75%. I was still able to recharge some devices until empty. After that, it was useless. For stationary camping, I think it would work ok because the battery would not be bouncing around. For charging from an outlet, the fact that there is no wire and just a direct plug in makes it hard to stay in the outlet because it tends to pull loose under it’s own weight. Therefore I would not recommend it if wall outlet charging is how you would use it.On the pro side, the battery charge was better than advertised. I got about 2X it’s stated capability.

Barely used and failed maybe after 10 uses
Needed a portable charger and previously had a goal zero. That one was great and lasted years. The quality on these must be going down as I had this one and sparingly used it. Took it on a trip to San Diego and stopped working. Must of only used it 10 times or less. Really disappointing since previous experiences with GoalZero products have been good.

USB port broke on our bikepacking trip.
It broke but mostly cause we had it on our nomad solar charger while biking. The USB port does not hold up very well. I would not buy again. This is made to be durable but it wasn’t. Most other goal zero products are great tho.

worthless
Purchased in conjunction with a Goal Nomad 7 Plus. Spent 11 days on a pack trip and never got the battery to charge past the second indicator light. There are four indicator lights so it never charged more than half way. Possibly a faulty unit?

Not ideal or convenient
Purchased with the solar charger (Nomad 5) and I am disappointed that this does not support pass through charging (the ability to receive power & charge the device connected at the same time). This means when it’s sunny and getting power your device/phone won’t charge… had to unplug it from solar panel anytime we needed to charge devices missing out on sunlight!Overall: Would not recommendedAlso iPhones report this as not a compatible charger a stop working after a few seconds. Both reported to not be the case from Goal Zero. While the solar panel is great the battery pack is very disappointing!
