Wimpy magnets
It’s cute for sure, but about worthless in magnetic hold. The smaller items are impossible to place because they barely hang on. Bigger items a bit better. Only largest items are anything for a 3 or 4 year old because of that. Disappointed.

Doll alternative

Tiny pieces
Good value and great product. My only issue is the age appropriateness. Some of the pieces are VERY tiny and very difficult for little hands. I think it is a great toy for 5-6 year olds but not any younger.

Small magnetic parts
This says for ages 3 and up, but has many tiny magnetic parts that a 3 year old could easily choke on or swallow. I had to take it away from my 3 year old granddaughter as she put parts in her mouth.

Great gift! They come back to it again and again
My daughter has not got tired of playing with this set. She and her friends have been playing with it for nearly 6 months now and younger sister too. It’s box amazingly makes them clean it up quickly too which is great. The pieces stick nicely. It’s perfect.

A Big Hit!
My 4 year old grand daughter loves Melissa and Doug products. She loves her dress up set that we got her for Christmas. Even our 1 year old grand daughter enjoyed it with her big sister. We supervised while the youngest one was around because there are different size pieces. All in all, a great buy, a great product.

Special times only
I bought this for a three year old granddaughter. The package is sturdier than earlier models. She likes it, but I know that the mother lets her play ONLY when older sibs are being instructed. It has many small pieces and can be lost easily. It makes a good special times only!

Good quality
Granddaughter aged 3 enjoys playing with this when she visits. It’s so much more ‘hands on’, teaching motor skills, interaction with real-time objects, than some “dress the doll” computerized game whatever-thingie-program! Sturdy craftmanship, I’m quite pleased albeit I sure did pay for it, haha, isn’t cheap.

Great birthday present!
Loved these! great fun for a 4 year old. Sturdy and plenty of clothes for dolls and pets. Dolls are double sided and have sturdy stands. Magnets work well. Carrying case is good for little hands to work with and lots of clothes to change. Great for little hands. Wish they had these when I was a kid.

So much fun!
Wasnt sure how my 3 year old granddaughter would do with these. She did great and she loved them! A little difficulty in placing direction of shoes, sun glasses, etc, but she’d ask for help or we’d just let it be a “fashion statement”. Magnets held on great. Stores great. Much easier to use than Grandma’s cutout paper dolls from the past and just as fun!

Looks to be good quality.
To be used with elementary school students. It’s a very cute set, and seems to be good quality. My only complaint would be that for storing it, the paper dolls/magnetic dolls are stored on the outside of the box where they could get knocked off And lost.

Fun for little girls
I got this for my granddaughter and and when I visit she often asks me to get on the floor and “play magnet dolls” with her. We create outfits for our dolls (she named them Rosie and Lucie). She is 4 and I think she will enjoy these for a few years, especially when her little sister can play with her. The product seems well made.

Just Okay
This Melissa & Doug Best Friends Magnetic Dress-Up Wooden Dolls is smaller than pictured and is just okay. It is certainly not worth the full price of $27.99. Since I purchased this on sale with and additional promotion from Amazon, it reduced the price by 57%, so I will not return it. Do not recommend unless you receive a great discount. As a toy, it is just okay. It’s nothing special.

My Grandkids Love them!
My 3 grandchildren (3, 4 & 10) all love to sit and play with these together. They are sturdy and colorful. The clothes will stick to the refrigerator as well! However, some pieces can be small, but I make them sit at the table to play with them due to a 7 month old grandbaby. I only gave 4 stars due to the design of the box. The main dolls do not fit inside the box and before I had a chance to buy a new container to keep all the pieces inside, one doll got lost! It’s a shame they do not make the box a little deeper to fit the dolls inside once you open it. I have found this to be the same with both my Doug & Melissa sets.

A new best friend
This cute carry-along set did not disappoint. Melissa and Doug create quality, imaginative, open ended toys that my whole family enjoys. My two year old loves dressing up these little girls and picking out outfits for their pets to wear as well. I like the ethnic diversity of the dolls and how all the accessories can be inner changed. Having a box to throw all the pieces in when you’re finished is an extra bonus and the handle attached makes it an easy toy to haul along on long road trips.

The cut out dolls and pets are so much fun. They have stands, and lots of outfits.Some of the pieces are very small, for younger toddlers. If accessory items taken outtill little ones are a little older. Is so much fun to create and share play with this set. Thepets are the favorite right now for my grandaughter.

Lots of small pieces but great carrying case
We received this as a gift for my 2 year old at Christmas. There are a lot of small accessories, which isn’t ideal for a younger kid (I counted 24 of them). However, I have to hand it to Melissa & Doug – they’ve perfected the carrying case. It has a wooden lid with a string handle and the dolls and pets fit right into the lid, which is fun and sensible. 10 items are pet sweaters, 6 are large shoes/socks, 6 are medium shoes, and 14 are small shoes that we’ll probably lose at some point. There are also 9 small bows, 2 pairs of sunglasses, and 4 hats.
