So cute and durable
Bought this for my 6-yr old’s Career Day at school and it was a huge hit! I purchased another one for my 4-yr old to use for a classroom project and his teacher ended up using it for the entire class, (with my permission of course), and made the cutest Thanksgiving cards for parents.I’ve also used it when taking care of my friend’s kids and they love it. They all take turns wearing the coat and chef’s hat and using the utensils to make pretend food. I’ve washed them both on the “casual” cycle in cold water a few times and they’re still like new.

Adorable costume
I got this for my daughter for Christmas to use with her play kitchen. It is adorable, well-made and has really cute accessories. The measuring spoons, oven mitt and wooden spoons really complement the accessories that came with her play kitchen and get a lot of use. My only complain it the hat. My daughter is only 2 and the hat barely fits her head. My daughter gets really frustrated when the hat won’t stay on her head. She can’t put it on herself and get it to stay on and she’ll get upset and she think she broke it. I can get it to stay on if I secure the velcro a bit unevenly allowing for a tiny bit extra room. It would be nice if there were multiple velcro pieces that allowed the hat to be more adjustable.

Darling and well-made
I have set up a dramatic play area for my grandchildren with all kinds of pretend kitchen toys. The chef costume is so well made. The kids actually fight over it. They like to wear it helping me cook also. As a result the front was covered with chocolate pudding the first time it was worn. I washed it by hand and hung it to dry. It cleaned well. I wish the hat was smaller for their little heads. It would be better if it adjusted to smaller sized heads of 2 and 3 year olds.

This is my absolute favorite costume I have ordered from amazon! The costume is so well put together with attached wooden spoon and spatula. It also includes attached measuring sticks and name tag. My 2 year old and 4 year old love this costume so much that they have to put it on every time they play pretend cooking. See attached video. Great value for the quality. We bought this as a Halloween costume but it’s such good quality we will continue to use it for dress up after the holiday. Fit my 6 year old well. very realistic, dress up
Oh my goodness. This is so adorable it’s ridiculous! I bought this for my granddaugther well knowing that it’s something she’s going to have to grow into. I have a chef’s hat which we’ve been sharing and she’s used my oven mittens, as well as wood spoons, as we played. If fits very large on her now as she’s 18 months and this was done on purpose so we could incorporate the whole set, and parts of it, in various types of dress up. I’m going to purchase a floofy scarf at a party store so the jacket can substitute as a coat, let her use one of my straw hats with the chef jacket, etc. Imagination at work here. As a cher’s outfit, it has everything you can ever imagine. What an excellent set. I use my chef’s hat, she puts on her’s. If you like to play dress up, and/or have a child which takes instructions well, then this is clearly a must in a child’s play area. So adorable.

the red dye ran when I tried to wash it
My 3 year old son got it for a gift and we (mostly) love it. (It is, by the way, a little big for a 3 year old boy, probably perfect for a 4 year old.) There is one problem you should know about. My son wears it to help me cook, not for dress up. He got chocolate cake batter on it the other day. I decided to spot clean and I will say that the batter came right out. However, the dye from the red trim ran all over the white coat. I’m going to try machine washing with a color catcher cloth and hope for the best. We love Melissa & Doug but they really should have made this coat with better red trim or no trim at all. It’s a little disappointing that you can’t wash the coat.

Oh my goodness! This is so cute. I purchased it for my 3 1/2 year old for Christmas – she loves it! And her older sister wants one too. It’s very nicely made, durable, sturdy fabric. The details make it soooo cute. Lots of cute little tools and pockets and even a place for their own little name badge. If you have a little one who loves to help in the kitchen this is the best to encourage it! So happy with this purchase! Hat is adjustable too so it fits well.

Cute Play Costume
I got this costume for my son, for Christmas. This outfit is so cute. I was happy to find the Melissa and Doug play costumes. My son loves to dress up, but you can not find boy dress up clothes in the stores, unless it is a halloween costume. (Most of those costumes are the cheap plastic, that will crack and tear.) The costume is sewn very nicely, and my son will have lots of fun time playing.Size – My son is 4 1/2 years old, and average size. It fits him, but I’m sure he will only get a year worth of play out of this costume, before he out grows it.

This was a gift for a 3 year old who is obsessed with sweets. I also purchased the M&D cupcake set for this kid, who LOVES dressing up in costumes at all times of the year. Not Just Another “TOY”
I bought 2 of these Chef sets for my grandchildren for Christmas. I can’t wait to see them dressed up and cooking.The Chef’s coat and hat are even nicer that they appear in the picture. I am really impressed with the quality, workmanship and design right down to the fabric covered buttons. The wooden cooking utensils and measuring spoons are very realistic. Great for multi year use for boys and girls!
This is the second one I purchased. The first was for my 3 year old son who is now 6 and still wears it! He is a big, tall 6 so that’s impressive.The second I got as a gift for a 4 year old girl and she loved it too. Both of the kids enjoy helping mom in the kitchen. WE really don’t use the utensils as we use real ones but we use the glove often!Great purchase and I’m sure I will buy more in the future

Great for dress up and for Halloween
Melissa & Doug products are fantastic! I purchased this as my son’s Halloween costume. Why pay for a cheap costume when you can purchase a dress-up outfit that can be worn throughout the years. It washes easily and the accessories work well with our growing collection of play food and kitchen gadgets. My son is 39″ tall and weighs 35 pounds and this was a little big on him. I am pretty sure it will fit him for two more years, which makes this a good buy for the money.

big fan of Melissa and Doug products
I have a grandniece who loves to play dress up. The chef’s dress up set is actually the second one I’ve purchased for her. The first was the Melissa and Doug doctor’s dress up set. My niece loves both sets. She couldn’t wait to unwrap the gift and try it on. I love the fact that each costume set is so complete. With her kitchen set, play food assortment of fruits and vegetables she is set to go to town in her chef’s outfit. I’ve purchased a number of Melissa and Doug items for my niece and each one had been a home run. I don’t ever have to worry about the quality of the product or safety issues which gives me alot of piece of mind.

I purchased this for my Niece for Christmas. Her thing this year is playing dress-up and I thought this costume looked pretty cool. Melissa & Doug products are some of the highest quality out there so I had high expectations which were met and exceeded! The quality is really outstanding. It is very well made and the stitching looks really nice. The additional accessories are a nice bonus as many other costume brands just come with the top. My 3 year old preschool class loves it!
I ordered 2 of these sets as a “Santa gift” for my preschool class. The quality is far above other dress-up outfits I’ve seen or used in my classroom. All the kids love wearing it. I was originally planning to buy just a few chef hats, but once I saw this whole outfit, I just had to order it. The hat is especially nice because the velcro closure allows both the smaller and larger kids to wear it comfortably. I haven’t washed it yet, but the material looks very sturdy and I’m sure it will hold up to lots of use and washings. Very good value, too.
