Coolest thing ever.
I’m not sure if they learn anything from these books or not but they are a sensory sensation. My preschoolers love them and they are definitely more satisfying than popits. Highly recommend for sensory seekers (a.k.a. most young children).

I love the idea of this book but since it’s meant for toddlers I feel that it was not made to the best that it can be I wanted to buy themAll but I’ve bought two and both get damaged real quick it’s annoying havingTo send back and replace it ! I won’t buy anymore maybe in the future ifIt’s more toddler friendly !

Would Buy Again
Great for many ages! One of my boys is learning the alphabet and the other is still focusing on just his senses. The popping is great for both of them! We love it! We have another pop the dot book from Melissa and Doug that started to fall apart within days but this one has held up a lot better!

Fun learning and interactive book
Got this for our 15 month old (now 16 months) and he loved it from the beginning. He caught right on to the popping game and we also use it to learn about the pictures. He can point things out as we ask him where they are and he’s learning more every day. He will bring us this book to “read” with him. It’s pretty heavy but the quality is worth it.

Great book + activity for kids!
My toddler LOVES this book and wants to read from it everyday since she gets to count and pop bubbles on each page. Highly recommend for toddlers/pre-K kids.

Keeps my 20 month old interested
Really fun book for my 20 month old. He loves popping the dots, but I gave it only 4 starts due to some of the dots don’t stay popped for when you turn the page. The dots are shared between pages and it’s supposed to pop and stay popped on page 1, but when you turn it over, the same dots have not stayed popped so you can’t pop it on the new page.My toddler still finds it interesting, but does get frustrated and doesn’t understand why some pages work and some don’t. I’d recommend buying from a store so you can test all the dots.

Neurodivergent Toddler Approved
My neurodivergent toddler loves popping this book. He completes the whole thing, when with other books he wouldn’t necessarily stay to read the whole thing. He’s nearly 2 years old. It’s definitely a book that can grow with them as they learn more also.

Cute but defective
This is a cute book, and my kids love it, except there are 2 pages that the pop things don’t work. They don’t pop and stay. Doesn’t give the feel or sound like the other ones. I saved them for gifts and missed the return window before I realized it doesn’t work right.

Love These Books
Super cute! Love these Pop books. We had the Safari Bus one that was given to us as a gift, but pages were eventually separated from the spine, thanks to a very rough 2 year old. I got this one as a replacement and it has been just as big of a hit.

Fun book for awhile
My toddler really liked this book initially – tons of fun pictures and things to search for or identify. We had a lot of fun reading through it. But while the dots are fun to poke, our book had several dots that wouldn’t stay “poked which frustrated my kid to the point that we had to set it aside to avoid the meltdowns.

Great book, terrible quality
My son loved this book when we gifted it to him. However when we read the book together we realized some of the “pop” plastic doesnt work… it doesnt stay “clicked” which makes my son click the button over and over and over again. We thought it was just the first book so we ordered a replacement which was even worse! The entire last page with alphabets didn’t work.

Cute book, but some of the poppers don’t work (they pop back after you push them so you can’t pop them on the next page). Didn’t realize until I was past the return window as this was a gift and I ordered it ahead.

Some poppers don’t work
Bought this for my son’s second birthday in late May but he didn’t really love it, so it sat on a shelf past our return window. Months later he pulled it out and it turns out that not all the little poppers work. All but 5 are fine. Seems like it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but for a two year old it frustrates him and makes reading this book a chore for me.

not the best quality
I was disappointed in the quality of this book. The pop areas were not made with strong plastic, and they wouldn’t stay pushed down. I expected more from a Melissa and Doug product. I had purchased two of the pop books and returned them both because of this.

Toddlers love these. Plus easy fix for poppers that don’t work.
This is our second Poke-a-dot book and I’m very happy with it. My kids love the poppers and there is good educational value in the books as well. They are quite big and heavy, but I still love to take them in the car to keep my kids entertained.I will add that when this book arrived I was initially disappointed because at least half of the poppers didn’t work well if at all. I contacted the company and they provided a video with a quick and easy way to refresh the poppers that don’t work. Essentially you should use the rounded end of a sharpie marker or something similar to trace around the edge of the poppers using some pressure. Repeat on the opposite side and test the popper again. Repeat if necessary. This did the trick to get all my poppers popping. I even “refreshed” the working poppers for extra snap. It’s too bad that the book didn’t arrive in working condition or at least contain information on how to get it working. But even still I love these books. Definitely recommend.

Good interactive books
We got a few of these types of books, love that they get your kids to interact with the books. However they are very heavy and we’ve had issues with the spines falling apart 🥺 I still recommend them because I like the popping, but really wish they held up better

Great idea horrid construction
My kid dropped this book of the couch (aka lightly chucked it off the sofa) and the binding came completely off the book. 2 pages ripped. I’m pretty upset because we didn’t enjoy it long before that incident. It’s big and heavy and cannot withstand much impact (even on carpet). Be aware.ORIGINAL REVIEW:IN LOVE. I wanted to repeat for customers – if some of your poppers don’t go both ways, simply trace around the edge of the popper with a rounded edge like a capped pen. They completely fix. I had 2 pages of poppers that would not stay “popped” … this trick resolved both pages.

Kid loves it, makes a “popping” noise like bubble wrap!
Kid loves this thing. It’s really hard to judge from pictures but it’s so much fun for the little one. She half laughs everytime she gets to push the little bubble (she can only push it if she gets it right). They also designed it very well so as long as you don’t skip pages you’ll never have to worry about having a page with already popped bubbles. It’s hard to review without being able to actually play with it, but trust me, your kid will have hours of fun with it!! My only complaint is the book is pretty damn heavy lol, other than that, it’s a good learning experience with a POP twist 😉

Sturdy fun book but HEAVY
These books are great and hours of fun. Be prepared for a HEAVY book though. My little kiddo had some trouble at first dragging this across the floor, but it has held up well over time to his rough play. Bought some as gifts and have some on Santa’s list for this year. 10/10 recommend.

So heavy but sooo cute
We love this book. We have another one as well and my son adores the popping. My only complaint is there are a couple that don’t work properly that annoy my son haha but it’s Greta overly. Good quality that makes it very heavy.

Sturdy and well made
This is a quality book. I got one as a gift for a preschool student in my class. The reviews for people saying the pops don’t work do not understand how to use the book. One must push the pops on each page to activate and set the pops for the following page. If the prior page’s pops are not pushed in, they won’t pop on the following page. Super cute and the abc book can be used to identify not only objects but letters and sounds.

Amazing choice for letter and sound recognition.
I have two older kids who are very into popits, so when my 3 year old discovered this book and realized it was like a fidget for him, he was absolutely in love! This book teaches letter recognition, letter sounds, capital and lowercase alphabet, all while adding the touch aspect, which allows the brain to absorb the things that they’re learning even more!I bought this book for him as a Christmas present, and have since gifted it to two other peopleThe only downside is that the spine is not super durable. We had to use clear tape on the binding within the first month.

Some dots don’t work
Some of the dots can’t be pushed through, they just pop right back out. Not sure if it’s damage from being in the summer heat or something else.It is really great for teaching words starting with each letter, though.

Poppers don’t work
These are great books. Would be a five star if they would stay popped. I bought all six books. The last page on two will not pop. Only one out of all six works perfectly. How will they make this right? If I were to send them back for a replacement, will they be ok? I wouldn’t want to keep up on that merry-go-round!

Not all of the dots work
A positive, this book has a lot of dots to poke – more than others I have bought. Unfortunately though, not all of them work. You can poke them and they don’t stay down so when you turn the page, you can’t poke it from that side.

Great sensory book
I was gifted one of the Poke E Dot books for my son around 6 months. He’s loved it since. The only complaint, I wish there was a smaller, lighter weight version for traveling. This one is pretty bulky and not easy to find room to pack it in a diaper bag for a restaurant or travel. He was pretty rough with the first one and it ended up being destroyed around 12 months. I bought a new one at 19 months and he still loves it. Hopefully since he’s older he won’t be as hard on this one.

Love Poke-A-Dot Books!
We LOVE poke-a-dot books in our house. I wish they made more of them! My daughter is obsessed with reading them at night before bed and will even make us drag them to daycare. Where our daycare provider loves them! They’re very engaging for kids and I’ve recommended them to several friends.Other reviews have complained that some of the dots don’t work or pop right back out and we’ve had the same problem with this specific title over the others. It’s still only 2 or 3 out of the entire book. It’s annoying since it should work perfectly, but it doesn’t bother me or my 3 year old enough to pass the book over. This one is probably her favorite because it’s the longest- she makes us read it almost every night!

Disappointed
I have bought several of these poke- a -dot books. The 3 year old I care for likes them. This was the most recent one I bought and its NOT the same. Many of the dots do not evendepress as they should. Not sure why but the plastic dots are not like they were a year ago.Sadly, Good things don’t always last.

Good book, too expensive
My boys (2 and 4) love this book. It’s fun and allows them to learn letters and sounds. I was disappointed that there is absolutely no story line in it. The pop-its are fun, and most of the time a fight ensues as to who gets to pop them. Thankfully there are about even pops on both pages so we manage. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because I feel like it’s too expensive for a board book, and 3 of the pops don’t stay popped on one side.

Great learning tool and fun for toddlers!
My 2 year old loves these books! I had originally bought one at Costco several months ago, but it wasn’t very well made and was used so often by my little guy that it ended up falling apart. So, I had to replace it. We’ve recently been learning the ABC’s so this book seemed perfect. The second that I opened the box my little guy grabbed for the book. So far it seems very well made and all of the Dots are pokeable. 🙂 The beginning of the book is cute and gets him familiar with the sounds letters make and the end of the book has dots on each letter of the alphabet. I quiz him on this part, where’s the H?, etc, and he loves it. Great learning tool and fun for toddlers!

Over half the “poppers” don’t pop- damaged in shipping?
Had a book like this when, my now 7 year old, was a baby. I purchased at the local mall on sale and it was a beloved toy/book. I now have a 1 year old who loves pop it toys. I thought this book would be perfect! Once received It seemed very “compact” or “smooshed” from shipping/storage? And over half the poppers do not pop. I neglected to send back within the 30 day return window so now it will be donated to goodwill or the garbage truck. Disappointing.

Makes books more interactive
Who doesn’t love to pop a bubble? My child has a blast poking the dots and the eye spy keeps him busy even if he’s too young to get very many correct. He will sit with me all day to play with/read poke a dot books. They also helped him with the fine motor skill of single finger pointing. He points to everything now.

My favorite of the poke a dot books
Very versatile and works for a broad age range. Kids can just enjoy the rewarding pop once they’re able to push hard enuf. They can enjoy having reader point out the items and while pointing to the pictures. They can seek requested items on the pages. They can use it to identify the letters and their sounds… See what I mean? And sturdy enuf to withstand multiple kids going through all these stages.A home run I think.

Some of pops dont stay popped
The pops on some pop back up as soon as you release your finger from pressing the dots down. Not all but some. My son loved his other poke a dot book so much he played with it daily and literally broke the book spine and all the pops worked as they should but this book in particular didn’t keep him interested because the pops dont work as they should so he doesn’t play with it.

Great book but needs stronger binding
We love love love this series of books! Our toddler reads them over and over again and loves to poke the dots! The only negative thing I can say is that the binding needs to be more durable because it started to come apart with weeks of buying and reading. I do understand that the pages of the book are thick and heavy, which makes it difficult to stay together. Otherwise the book is amazing!

Many of the poke dots do not pop
Really like the concept and my kids really like these books but this one does not work the same. The poke dots do not click and stay like they do on other books. About half of them on each page don’t click and stay which defeats a lot of the purpose. Maybe the quality has gone down with the manufacturing or maybe it’s just this book.

Last 2 pages don’t POP at all!
The last 2 pages of the book all of the dots on the page are defective and do not pop. This is pretty upsetting considering this was a replacement for another I bought with a broken cover. Also, the popping is all the fun when it comes to these books, which are not cheap! Love Melissa and Doug but disappointed in this purchase.
