Nice grill
I was really excited to try this grill out. I wish it was a tad bit bigger. I wish the indicator light would let you know when the griddle reached the desired temperature. That is not a deal breaker for me. Another thing I did not like was that the grease try was built on the edge of the griddle. I wish it was separate so when it became full while cooking I could empty it. That is the biggest thing I did not like about it. It does have even cooking temperature across the whole griddle. I love the fact that the mess lid is detachable. Overall I like the griddle and it is something I would purchase again.

I wish I had this years ago
I moved from a warm place year round to half of the year being cold and snowy. One thing I miss is grilling during the winter months. I saw this on sale for Black Friday and I figured I’d pull the trigger.I was a little skeptical at first because obviously it’s not going to be anything like my Webber grill, and it isn’t. Instead it’s a nice portable mini-electric grill! I don’t have my counter space in my house, so it fits perfectly.Tonight I made some Tortas with the chopped beef and frying the cheese using the griddle plate. I’m so impressed on how well and even everything cooked and just how the grease doesn’t necessarily drain immediately away from the beef, so it keeps that juiciness that’d you’d miss on something like the George Foreman. I grilled some onions up and I decided to fry an egg on there for the heck of it.Let’s just say I’m in love with this thing. I’m already thinking about cooking some steaks using the grill plate soon!What I love about this grill is how it takes about 5-10 minutes to preheat the grill, then it’s ready to go. Clean up is already extremely easy as everything just lifts up via a magnet that’s on the back of the cooking plates.Go get this. That’s all I gotta say.

I bought this a month ago. After using the grill for several steaks. I love it ! No smoke. Easy to clean. Steaks are awesome. I bought some steaks from Texas Roadhouse on Amazon.Excellent. I give this a 10 and I am so happy that I can grill again. It takes me 5 minutes max to clean after a brief soak in the sink. 10 – 12 minutes to cook a medium rare steak. I am a senior with arthritic hands. Easy peasy.

Awesome Grill/ Griddle

TRULY SMOKE FREE FOR INDOOR USE
I got these for gifts this Christmas. I was skeptical about the “no smoke” guarantee but they are in deed smoke free for use inside a house. Not only that but they work so well, are excellent for steaks, pancakes, bacon or sausage. Highly recommended. So easy to clean too. Your friends will love you; get them one.

Nothing sticks. Gets hot enough for searing. I wish the plates were just reversible (only due to limited space in my kitchen) but I have no complaints whatsoever. A lot of people were complaining that it was hard to clean. I’ve cooked smash burgers and pork and bacon all with the lid down and found it quite simple to clean, provided you do it before it becomes sticky. Perfect size for my fifth wheel countertop. Absolutely in love with it!!!

I actually bought 2. One for me and one a gift. My husbands buddy was at the house and loved it. Got one on sale for a Christmas gift to his family Oil drains but not at once so you don’t have dry food. I cook steaks at higher than the recommended temp for well done and I like the char marks from grill. If your going to cook cheaper meats or high fat burgers on a high temp, they taste great, but, there is some smoke. My husband did not cook inside, ever. Now he loves to grill dinner or even make grilled cheese sandwiches on the griddle. It’s a real bang for your buck and a time saver. Toast buns on the same surface you grill on.

Smokeless?? No
This is a nice grill/griddle but far from smokeless. So I just put it on our stove top and turn on the range hood’s vent, which takes care of any smoke nicely. Everything we’ve cooked on it from omelettes and pancakes to burgers, breakfast sausage, bacon and bacon wrapped shrimp skewers turns out nicely. Easy to clean. The only problem at all is making omelettes we needed to put coasters under the two front ‘legs’ to raise them up slightly to keep the egg mixture from running into the grease trough in the front of the griddle tray.

Where have you been all my life

I loved the HB and planned on buying the same one again, but I am also a big Ninja fan, and came across this grill, so I thought I’d try it out.HB: About $70Ninja: About $120HB: low profile, which I lovedNinja: extremely low profile, which is even betterHB: removable, windowed, covered lidNinja: removable, vented lidHB: temperature dial goes up to 450F, light indicates when temperature is reachedNinja: temperature dial up to 500F, light indicates power onlyHB: open grates, allowing grease to drain into pan below, which I lined with aluminum foil to easily disposeNinja: closed “grate”, most of the grease drains to a ditch at the front of the grill.HB: I put the lid and the grate into the dishwasher and it held up great. The grate was tougher to clean and did require a soft brush to scrub stuck, cooked-on food. The grease pan is large, removes, and is very easy to clean. I stuck in the dishwasher. Grease splatters on the insides walls of the frame and needs to be cleaned by hand. It’s hard to get it all.Ninja: lid has lots of little vent holes. It seemed to clean by hand ok, but is also dishwasher safe, which is good. Grate has a very smooth surface, making it easy to wipe down. I don’t think you are supposed to put it in the dishwasher to protect the nonstick, but I probably will at some point. It doesn’t look like it will easily flake. The grate and the grease catcher are all one piece. The benefit to this is that all the splatters are contained, keeping the base pretty unscathed from splattersHB: one grill plateNinja: the GR101 model includes a second interchangeable griddle plate.The grate size is about the same for both grills, but I feel like the heating elements cover more surface area on the Ninja. The heating element is enclosed on the bottom of the grate on the HB, and if I recall circles the periphery. The Ninja has heat elements that completely covers the bottom and exposes more of the grill to heat.Both easily fit 4 large hamburgers on the grill.I’m on the fence about the Ninja lid. That’s going to take time to determine if a vented lid is problematic, or works as well as a fully covered lid.Ninja Pros:~i like that it has both a griddle and a grill plate. For me that is a space saver.~The Ninja potentially gets hotter for quicker sear.~The Ninja cleans up more completely~The very low profile. I like to be able to put it away easily, and I like that it doesn’t take up all the counter space when I’m cooking~cooks food really well and has great grill marks~solid and well madeHP pros~the open grate really does a better job of draining the grease off your food (i.e. hamburgers)~less expensive~full lid coverage with viewing window~easy to handle and cleanNinja cons~honestly, I’m really surprised Ninja didn’t include the feature for the indicator light to cycle on and off when the grate temperature is reached. The instructions are to heat for 7 minutes, and, i guess assume it’s hot enough. I think this was a poor design decision. It’s not a huge deal to add, but a really beneficial feature to have. It’s what clued me in that my HB was broken.~I’m on the fence about the closed grate. It definitely makes cleaning easier and more thorough, but I do think I prefer the grease to drain. Maybe after I’ve used it for more than just hamburger, I’ll adjust my opinion. I’m thinking about grilling asparagus, which would benefit from not having all the butter or oil drain off. Might be easier to grill salmon too. Hot dogs wouldn’t matter. I don’t believe it would matter for grilled chicken or a filet. I’ll have to try that too.All in all, I’m really happy with the Ninja, and would recommend it to anyone. It’s well made and does what I want it to do, and then some. It stores easily and cleans easily. It cooks great. No major complaints, except for the light.I’m looking forward to making more meals and also trying out the griddle. And I would definitely recommend.

High heat is key .(does smoke some if cooking fatty meal)
What sets the ninja sizzle apart from other indoor nonstick grills is the ability to get to 500. Degrees. Higher temps Make a huge difference in taste color and texture of anything born to be charred .I don’t get why ninja recommends lower then max temp for most foods? Today was an epiphany for me in the burger world . In All my years of cooking , great restaurant quality cheeseburgers was a goal I could never exactly Reach . Today , saw the error of my ways . I made a batch of fresh 80/20 on sizzle with grill plate. seasoned meat ,7 min warm up and placed a10″x10″ heavy burger press on all 4 patties at once with occasional push down . I always felt pressing on burger with press or spatula would enhance the contact and char on a hot grill , WRONG! All the Juice/ fat( flavor and juiciness ) washed away down to fat gutter at bottom of grill . I now also believe the cooler juice pressed out of burgers cools down the grill or griddle prevents malliard reaction, keeping you from obtaining a great char to meat surface . My burgers were ok but little char and flavor juiciness. Disheartened, I let grill cool , washed it , and made a small burger test with 0 press down of any sort.just throw on turn1/4 after 3-4 min ,flip once and same for other side Also I let grill preheat 10-12 min.on high. Wow , probably best burger I ever made . No juice lost and great char by not pressing on it at all. Crazy how something so simple makes all the difference . Back to sizzle, sorry if I got sidetracked,this thing is great , griddle or grill . Easy clean , way less smoke , simple one dial cooking. I have about 6 ninja products and love them all . Good quality , recommend .

Excellent quality and results, super easy to clean.
I got this to prep large amounts of marinated chicken easily. I don’t want to bake/boil all the time as that doesn’t taste as good and makes hard to clean ovenware. At the same time, using my bbq is a bit of a chore to do often and can dry out the chicken. This is everything I hoped for so far, I marinated a bunch of chicken breasts overnight and the next morning threw them on the ninja. I didn’t realize I was supposed to let it warm up first, but it didn’t matter. At the indicated chicken setting of 375F I ended up turning the chicken twice but could have done it once once I get the time per side down. I was concerned that the insides of the thick full size chicken breasts wouldn’t cook but they were perfect. NOW FOR THE BEST PART. I took the grill surface while still hot to the sink and everything, even in the drip tray residue just rinsed right off with the water wand only.. no scrubbing, no soaking. Hopefully the excellent non-stick coating stands up over time because its awesome and I am going to make sure nothing metal ever touches it. It only took 2 minutes max to clean up after cooking 8 chicken breasts. Fantastic product and result.

Finally an indoor grill that is worth the price.
Finally had to replace the old Cuisenart indoor grill. We went with this for a couple reasons. the name brand makes quality items and the fact it is smokeless. It comes with a ton of accessories and the fact that the plates swap out super easy! they are held in place with magnets so they pop in and out with ease! Nice side note, the plates and a drip slot in the front to catch all the fluids. Genius! No more messes of dripping onto the counter or a cup. Quality is first rate and you definitely need to look into this one if this is what your looking for. you can’t go wrong! I highly recommend it!

Nice griddle
This a a good value appliance, easy to clean, compact, but takes a while to heat up, and, generally does a good job, As for meats, it not cast iron, unfortunately, so provides a good heat burst in the beginning, but winds down a bit after that. Basically, it’s a good griddle .

I would give this 12 stars if I could. It’s roomy and will fit several steaks on it. Speaking of steaks, they cook up beautifully on this grill. And the built in grease tray works great and reduces cleanup as its all one piece built into the grill plate.Additionally, the griddle is awesome for breakfast tasks. Bacon is easy to cook quickly, and there is very little splatter. Worked well for eggs and hash browns as well.Whatever coating they have put on the grill and griddle plates…it makes cleanup SO much easier than the last grill we had. The whole thing can be cleaned up in 5 minutes. Hopefully it will hold up well over time!!It’s well built, mainly metal parts and not a lot of cheap breakable plastic (issue with my last grill).Highly recommend this!

Travel Game Changer
I purchased this primarily to use on the road in our travel trailer. Wow! I have to say, this is it. If you have electric available, this is the cooking method you want to use inside and outside. While I normally cook outside with this, when it rains, I bring it in to cook with.Is it entirely smokeless? No, but it is virtually smokeless, I would say that there is more steam than anything as it is really like an electric griddle or panini press. The screen lid on it also helps cut down the steam and splatter while you’re cooking. Now, steaks are done great on this, breakfast bacon and pancakes are a breeze.I’ve used tons of different electric griddles over the years and this is by far, the best electric cooktop I’ve had the pleasure of using, the difference is that the heating element is curved around the entire cooktop area. It has great coverage for the heating element so each part of the cooktop is evenly heated. It also keeps the temperature well, no sudden drops when you throw down an egg or two on there. Shark, you have some hit and miss products and this is a definite hit with us!

Ninja Sizzler
I have had no problems whatsoever with splattering or large amounts of smoke with the item, even on high temperatures. The non surface coating is fabulous, you do not need to use oil or anything, just put your food on it. I have had no food or meats sticking to the surface and clean up is easy and fast. If your item does smoke, just keep the cover down, but I have not had that problem and I cooked some hamburgers on 400 degrees without a problem. I prefer the griddle, flat grate for cooking most items. The grill grates are a little more work to clean in between the grill marks but it’s still not a problem.

I absolutely love this grill! It is exactly what my kids and I needed. Easy to assemble and disassemble. Not entirely smokeless, but heats up quickly and cooks evenly. Used it for pancakes in the morning and hamburgers for dinner. Looking forward to trying a steak in the near future.

Great gift!
Got this for a gift and they absolutely loved it! No more standing outside in the cold to grill food in the winter! And you can have hibachi at home on the griddle side. Well worth the money!

It is my first time using electric grill and hats off to ninja for producing this product. This grill has made grilling so much easier and portable. It cooks the same as any gas grill. It’s size is perfect and enjoy using this grill.

the ease of use
I got this because I love grilled food all year long. Just got it in time for Christmas, cooked steaks on it for the first time and steaks came out beautiful. Clean up was extremely easy. Hopefully future meals will be delightful as well.
