Returned after one use. Update: Manufacturer responded.

My old headphones finally stopped working and I needed to find a replacement. Unfortunately not many brands make a wired Bluetooth headset anymore and I do not like the true wireless designs. I like to be able to take one out if I need to talk to someone and let it just hang around my neck. This pair looked like what I wanted but unfortunately the sound quality was not good. It had this sound behind the music which I can describe as tin/static but I don’t think either term truly describes what I was hearing. What I was hearing may have been this specific pair or just the fact that I have sensitive hearing so I’m not sure if other people would feel the same way. I am not an audioaphobe but I am sensitive. They did come with multiple size earpieces and a decent looking case.I ended up returning the headset after one use.Update: The manufacturer reached out to me following my review and offered to send me another pair to try. The new pair is much better. There is a slight white noise sound when there’s no music playing but it’s not the tinny sound that I heard before and it’s not happening while the music is playing. So it must have been an issue with the specific pair and not with the brand as a whole. Added a star back for great customer service and communication.

    Great value.

This is my second or third Otium headset of this type. First one I wrecked – second one my cat bit the wire. This one lasted almost 1 year so not bad.The build quality is good. Can be used in the shower/rain and if you’re sweaty. The “hooks” that go behind your ear makes it very easy to use while doing regular tasks. Personally, I like the design versus the “in your ear” types that always fall out for me. I’ve never had an issue with the previous ones, but the current one developed an issue (yesterday) which resulted in 1 star being deducted. That is – it died and then refuses to charge. I’ve tried various chargers including higher output ones but no luck. So that out of the way – let’s get more into the device.Overall it’s comfortable – for me and persons like myself that find “in your ear” types to be uncomfortable or too easy to fall out. While the build quality is good, you should avoid “dragging” the device from one side or by the wire. This may result in one side not working over time. The device is waterproof – I’ve personally used it in the rain with my phone inside the house/car or to listen to things while in the shower. Or be on calls that I have no choice but to take. Just ensure the charging port cover is secured and you should be fine. The audio VOLUME is lower than other devices, but the audio QUALITY is fine. The shortcuts with the buttons take a bit of getting accustomed to, but once you’re past that you’ve got a great device. The charging time is about an hour I think, and then it will last for 8 hours or more. I’ve actually used this for 2 days without charging – only turned it off at night. On this point – and the current failure – I advise you to turn it off when it says “battery low” and do not turn it back on until you’ve charged it up. While it has died on me before, this time when it died after 2 days of usage, I attempted to charge and it refuses to do so.Again – overall – this is a great buy for the price. You get a solid item that will last you for a while with care.

    It’s still works.

Nice gadget. I have kid size ears so it hurts if I wear it too long. Sound is good. I only wear one side so the other side easily hangs on collar. I recommend it, especially if you drop other headsets easily.

Great overall, but tends to turn off one ear when it gets wet

Overall, I really like the way these look, feel, and sound. I also use them in and slightly under water. So far they have not gotten permanently damaged from doing this. The sound remains loud enough even in the shower.I use them in the shower and the bathtub to help me avoid procrastinating on taking a shower and to enjoy listening to something while floating my head in the tub. When in the shower, this is where one ear will often cut out. But when I get out, it eventually starts working again. It seems like this is a protection mechanism where it detects components are receiving moisture and then powers them down. So sure they are IPX7, but this seems to mean they don’t get damaged by water rather than continue to be usable when wet. This is why I give them 4 stars instead of 5.I also wanted to float my head peacefully in the tub while listening to something without worrying whether or not my ears and earphones got wet or went under water. If I go under water even a little bit, the earphones often start cutting out. But if I’m careful to stay a little higher in the water, they mostly work. This is because that is just how Bluetooth signals are affected by water, so I didn’t remove any stars for this.

Convenient, Effective & Affordable- Plus Swift + Responsive Customer Service

    1. Convenient: They are very simple to use- initial pairing up as well as everyday use. They also fit well over my ears conveniently.2. Effective: They also provide a good sound experience. They may not provide the high bass effects of some of the high-end headphones which are far more expensive, but I definitely think they cancel the noise around me while using them and give me an enjoyable music experience.3. Affordable: They are very affordable and it’s been close to a year that I have used them. For $20, I think its a good value4. Customer Service: After using it for close to 10 months, they stopped charging, so I just reached out to customer service [although I didn’t expect much since I bought them for $20]. However, they were so responsive and sent me a replacement in 3 days. They provided swift and caring customer service which is unlike some of the higher-end brands.Hence, overall I am very happy with my purchase.Update: This is an update to my initial review. As I mentioned previously, they sent me a replacement when the initial product had stopped charging. This time around, by my own mistake, I damaged the earphones. I reached out to customer service and asked if they could provide me with a replacement as a part of the warranty; and once again, they were so responsive and sent me a replacement right away. I am very pleased with the customer service as this is something very rare and most brands don’t care about the customer once they have sold them their products. Showing that the customer is more than a mere money vending machine and actually caring for them can go a long way to making a person’s day.Thank you so much and I hope they keep this up!

had a ringing that wouldn’t go away

About a month after buying these the left headphone started to ring very annoyingly. I am being sent a new pair though. I had the previous version of these Otium headphones for 6 years and they worked great. When they finally broke I got the newer version and they stopped working after about 6 months but Otium has pretty good customer service so they sent me another pair. But those stopped working after 6 months as well. I’m hoping that this next generation is as good as the first gen and nothing like the second gen. I’m giving 4 stars only because I have t had enough time with the newest version to make a real review

    Great headphones for the price

I’m a pretty active fellow, some would say. I also enjoy listening to music while I do things and stuff. And this is why I needed Bluetooth headphones. In the kitchen: I love cooking and listening to music with earbuds. And I have a good sized kitchen so I’m always going back and forth, opening and shutting drawers and cabinets. Then whammy!! The dang cords get wrapped around a handle and my buds pop out of my ears and dangle on the floor. Bummer.Running: not so much fun having little cords whip my face with every step.Shopping: yes, I’m one of those people who listen to music while shopping. I keep my phone in the cart with the list facing me but when I reach out further than the earbud cord goes, buds pop out or phone drops into the cart. There it is. My life with corded ear buds. So why don’t I just get AirPods? Because I don’t want to fork over $160 for something I’m gonna lose. Instead I opted for the Otium wireless buds. The cost is great. Not too expensive. They come in a round case with a variety of ear pads for different sized ears and a charging micro usb cord which is a bit ridiculously short. The ear pads were a bit large for my large ears. I mean, really? I have, I guess, normal sized man ears, but a quick change to a slightly smaller size and the buds fit perfectly in my head holes. After a quick charge I put them to good use. First off, pairing with my phone was quick and easy. After a read of the instructions, navigating the buttons on the right bud was pretty intuitive. The fit snugly in my head without feeling like something is tugging at me at all times. And the connection cord around my neck is negligible. All in all a good fit and very comfortable. So what about sound? Not bad. With the larger ear pads everything sounded like it was solely treble, but when I got the right size and the buds fit normally I could finally hear some bass. Not much. But enough to make a difference. The overall quality of sound is equivalent to the iPhone ear buds, sans the bass. I kept my phone either in my pocket or in my arm band and the sound never scratched or skipped a beat. Not sure how far I can go before the Bluetooth connection disrupts, but if you’re like me, your phone will be nearby at all times anyway.I have an eclectic taste in music. I listen to everything from classical, to 80s rock or pop, rap, film scores, alternative, and more. I’m not expecting to hear the quality of a live orchestra, but for all intents and purposes these are a great pair of headphones.I give this product four stars for overall quality of sound, function, design, etc. Four stars means if I need to replace them in the future, I may look for another product, but I’ll more than likely stick with these again.

Fantastic Service from Otium for any issues

These headphones are my absolute favorite and have used for years.I run a lot and the Number 1 benefit is these will never end up on the ground like your airpods.Nothing worse that running or walking and your airpod drops to ground and you spend forever looking for it or cannot even find it. Could happen if you taking on/off sweater or beanie. That will never be case with Otium. They’ll at worse dangle around your neck.I have Airpods so can compare. The quality of the sound Otium are excellent.Charging is lightening speed and they last for 6+ hours at very least.Another favorite is adjusting the volume while running. Two buttons on right earpiece make is so simple and quick. You don’t have to mess with watch or phone or adjust vol. Also same buttons allow you to skip to next song or repeat or go back to last song. Again no need to fumble around and take your phone out or mess with watch. The best though is their support. Recently I needed assistance and Otium support emailed me back within hours and while my Otium was no longer under warranty they resolved the issue and sent me new replacement at no cost. Their support followup was excellent. Just fantastic – Thanks Otium

    Good buy for the price

I’ve bought these headphones for myself, my boyfriend, and my three teens. The battery life is impressive, 2 days at least for me. They are comfortable, and the sound quality is pretty nice for an off-brand headset. Biggest negative: they aren’t tough; I usually have to buy 2 sets a year, per person, at minimum, from normal use. Also, they are “shower proof”, if properly inserted, but definitely not “water proof”.

    Small glitch

This is a really good product, for the price. Buying this, one doesn’t have high expectations, but this product delivers. The reason I’m leaving a review is just to touch on a point for iPhone owners. This product was purchased for my husband who is technologically challenged and also has dementia, so remembering steps can be an issue. After his first few days using these, he kept asking me why his messages weren’t audibly notifying him. After several hours of reading tech pages, changing settings and testing via sending messages from my phone, I finally stumbled on the fact it was the earphones, zipped in his box, but “ON” which was causing the issue. In short, using an iPhone, you MUST have your earphones turned off when not using them in order to allow the phone to notify you of messages, or it will default to the earphones. Not a big issue for most of us, but he has to ‘re-pair’ them and that is confusing for him. You all should be just fine with it, but just this heads up to save you the time I had to spend figuring it out. Great little pair of earphones.

    Great pair of water-resistant earbuds

This is the second time using Otium’s sport earbuds. For 20 bucks, they are quite impressive, and I like them more than even an 80 dollar pair I got from JBL last summer.TL;DR – these are fantastic, and the 20 dollar price tag makes them one of the most compelling budget options on the market. These are the ones – the number and quality of ratings should tip you off. Some really nice features that I like: – Water resistance: I listen to podcasts in the shower, so this is a must. – Long battery life: The 10 hour battery life is not an exaggeration – these things really do run all day. – Distinct power and volume buttons – Connected cord: easy to take one side out and let it dangle over your shoulder – truly wireless earbuds mean you have to put one side back in the case, and sometimes charge level between sides is different. – Comes with a good selection of ear tip sizes. The only bug with this product is that if you have two devices connected, and one disconnects, the earbuds will power off after a while (as if they were totally disconnected), even if the other device remains connected. They have significantly improved the product since the last pair I had: – USB C instead of the old micro-USB (no needing to find the right plug orientation) – more explicit information about what the waterproofing is actually rated for – (use in the shower is A-OK. Bath or pool: no way – the water would interfere with the Bluetooth anyway.) – Battery life seems to be improvedVery solid pair of earbuds – the last pair worked for about 1.5 years before the cable started acting up (but I was not being careful with them: spinning them around, jamming them into my pockets, etc.)When I ordered this new pair, the connector in the USB-C charging port was cracked, but I reached out to Otium directly and they sent a replacement out for free and very quickly. Top notch customer support.

    Died after a couple months

It’s very hard for me to find any type of earbuds. I run, go to the gym, and sweat like a pig! Earbuds always fall out when I’m sweating profusely and / or running. I got to say, these never fell out. They would pop out of my ears sometimes when doing extreme physical activity. But the behind the ear guard kept them from actually falling on the ground. The sound quality is okay. Not great, not bad. When I’m working out or running, I’m not an audiophilest. If I want quality sound, I sit at home and listen to music in a controlled environment. I dont go to the gym or run along a busy street expecting great sound quality. The biggest problem I had with these is they broke. They just stopped working one day after about 2 months or use. Not sure why? My guess would be moisture. But I dont know. So $19 bought me 2 months of music while exercising. I actually just bought another pair hoping my experience was just an anomaly. Time will tell.

    No air in these!!

I have purchased 2 sets of these, one of which I left in a trade in, my loss. These Bluetooth earbuds/headphones work great. They connect easily. Stay in place while working out, and have awesome sound for the price. Yeah they don’t charge on a pad, but easy enough to charge. Listening time is great for travel. I wore theses to and from Vegas, 4 hr each way plus in TSA lines for 2 hrs and they didn’t need a charge. Comes with nice zippered case to hold or pack for trips. Unlike air pods they loop around neck, so to stop, remove one for conversation is convenient. I purchased a pair of PTG air pods, bummer. They charged quickly and died just as fast. Not sure the issue. So I’m back on the zon to purchase another set of these. It’s 01/13/24. My other pair still work great and stay at my office. They have a charge indicator light as well. So why spend a hundred bucks to have buds fall out and fail to hold a decent charge for any length. If you have a slightly irregular shape to ear canal, such as myself, no matter the size of ear cushion you put on air pod, it will not stay in ear. These will!!

    The PERFECT gym headphones!

If you’re looking for headphones for the gym, your search is over. These headphones are sweat resistant, inexpensive and LOUD. I can use these headphones in a bank of treadmills and not be overwhelmed with the sound of feet pounding treadmills. For what it’s worth, these are also great for mowing your lawn and hear something other than the mower engine but I digress…Again, they’re great for the gym due to price point. Should your headphones disappear at the gym, hey – you’re only out $20, it’s not the end of the world… buy another pair.If you’re looking for high-end headphones with crystal clear sound quality, noise cancelling, super controls – these headphones are NOT for you. These are low cost, water resistant, LOUD, and inexpensive. For MY purposes, these are perfect for the gym.If your dog chews these, big deal. Lose ‘em? Big deal. Run ‘em over with your car? Big deal. Spend another $20!I currently have 3 pair of these. I’ve given several of these as gifts over the years.Again, these are NOT high-end audiophile quality headphones. These bad boys get the job done well, and at a great price!!!I highly recommend these headphones! If you buy these – with the expectations I’ve described (NOT high quality) and know what you’re getting and what to expect you’ll probably love these!Have fun blasting the sound!

    Great budget headphones

Sometimes people rate products for what an item is NOT rather than for what it IS. If you’re excpecting an audiophile’s dream, move on. If you’re looking for surprisingly good, quality budget earphones you can use to listen to music, watch videos & movies, & you don’t care about true wireless, then these are well worth trying, especially for the price point. The sound quality is very good ( not tinny, no static, very clear, good volume strength), charging is fast, and battery lasts from 6 – 8 hours on a single charge, depending on device & how high you crank the volume. I don’t like blasting music or movies into my ears, I just want to hear it clearly, so these typically last me a good 7-8 hours on phone and pc.I have had these for 19 months & they’re still going strong. NOTE: I use these every single day since the day I bought them, and I use them until they max out & need a recharge, every single day. They are now starting to show signs of degradation: the charge now creeps down to 90% when I go to use them after fully charging them the night before. If I charge them again real quick before use, I can get 100% again. Also, instead of 8 hours, they now last somewhere between 6 – 7 hours on a single charge. Still pretty darn good. 1 star off, since they’re not good for calls bc the mic sucks, so if that’s important to you ( it wasn’t for me) it could be a deal breaker. Also, they’re tethered to each other, so if you want to use them at the gym, they might annoy you with the cord flopping around your neck & maybe getting caught on clothing, etc. True wireless are probably better for the gym where you’ll be moving around vigorously. They’re just fine for biking though. The on/off button bothers some ppl but imo, it’s fine bc you don’t have to push it while it’s in your ear — just put the left earphone in, press the button on the right one until it turns on, then put in the right earphone. Easy peasy, no big deal. Same for turning them off, just take the right earbud off so you don’t have to press it into your ear, if pressing the button while it’s in your ear bothers you.And there you have it folks! For this price point you can’t ask for much better! I’m very careful with reveiws & wait a long time before commenting to make sure a product is good. I do not hesitate to recommend these!TLDR: Although not good for calls bc the mic sucks & earphones are tethered to each other, these wireless phones are surprisingly good. Very good sound & volume, long battery life on a single charge, and solid quality — still going strong for me after 19 months — all at a dirt cheap price! Recommended!

Great headphones that stay in your ear

If you are running or want a pair of headphones that stay in your ears, these are the ones to get. They are also very comfortable and durable. I have mine for over 2 years and I wear them a few times a week while running. I like them so much I purchased an additional two paris incase mine break. I do not understand why people always need something newer when what they have works. Also the sound seems fine to me for watching movies or programs on tv. GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY

    Excellent Value

I purchased these to replace a pair I bought several years ago that finally wore out. These ear buds have lasted much longer than expected. The sound quality is very much better than I would have expected for the price. These are an excellent product for the price. The sound quality is actually as good as that which I get from a high-priced pair of earphones.

What Do I Expect In This Price Range?

Close to a 4 star review, but minus 1 point because after 11 months its starting to have a problem. It shuts off in the middle of a podcast or phone call, when the battery has 80 or 90% charge. It just started doing that a few days ago. It might be related to the wire connection at either or both ear plug/s. I will also say that my ears are not capable of detecting excellent sound quality…20 years in a garage band will do that to you. So in all actuality, these might deserve a plus 1 point for great sound quality. I wish I could tell, but they are more than adequate for my listening pleasure, as well as ease of use. I can connect to my phone and an ipod, listen to music or podcasts on the ipod, but easily answer the phone, and go back immediately to the ipod when the call is over. Great for the gym, bike riding with a buddy, hands free phone action. Battery life is great. Fits in my ears just right, and hangs on pretty good when I have to lean over to look at something for work or play… I expect these kind of head phones to last about 2 years, and then serve as a back up for another year or more. If I figure out that a previous same brand earphone only lasted a year, I’m going to move on to another brand. But I could regret that decision if it turns out that all brands in this price range only last 1 year…I’ve had those for sure. Maybe I’m expecting too much? I’ll update results of my research

I love Otium earphones. I have been using these earphones for years. Recently left side of my earphone stopped working which I have been using for about 1 and half years and was out of warranty. I emailed Otium customer service and they replaced my earphones with a newer model even though it was out of warranty service. Amazing customer service along with Amazon product. Highly recommended!!

    Perfect for What I Needed

You’d never guess by looking at me, but I go to the gym nearly every day. For the past year I’d been using Shockz OpenRun bone conduction headphone for the gym as I like to listen to music and YT videos while working out, but I also like being able to hear around me in case anyone wants to compliment my sweet azz. (For the record: this hasn’t happened yet, but it might, and I need to be prepared.)The problem is, in the past 12 months I’ve been through two pair of the OpenRun headphones. The first set stopped taking a charge and wouldn’t turn on the first time it got cold here in Colorado and the second pair worked flawlessly until the rubberized exterior wore out at the control buttons. I didn’t want to spend $150 again for the same thing so started looking around for other options.I’d been planning on using an older pair of SoundCore over the ear headphones that were broken, but serviceable, when Amazon showed me these Optium. The SoundCore’s didn’t have an IPX rating and most of the reviews said they didn’t last long under stressful usage, so I was excited to see these not only having an IPX rating of 7 but also their price tag (I purchased them for $20)I bought them hoping they would suffice, and they came the next day. I have worn them to the gym a few times now and I can honestly say they’re perfectly fine (for the price). Do they have amazing sound quality? No. I can hear the music and videos without worrying about them falling off my head, though. Do they have bass because we’re all about that bass, right? Not really, no. But, then again, neither did the Shockz. In fact, my Amazon Echo 2 buds have more bass (and ANC) than these. At the gym, that doesn’t matter to me since there’s lots of clinking and clanking anyway. Plus, no ANC, which means I can hear around me when someone wants to whistle at my legs. Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t “tinny”‘ they’re just bass-less, so, more treble. Kind of like my truck speakers … but that’s another story. The IPX7 rating also means I don’t have to worry too much about them when I’m in the steam room or sitting in the spa. I don’t swim or shower with them, though. The charge lasts far longer than either my OpenRuns or my Echo 2s, but these have significantly less features to drain the battery away.Earlier today I took a call while listening to music through these and the other end said I sounded fine, so that’s a plus. These Optiums came with a small case, some ear pieces to adjust to your ears and a small clip you can use to clip the wire to your collar or headband, if you’re that guy (don’t be that guy). For $20 I couldn’t be happier with a headset. I would have given these 4.5 stars, if allowed, as opposed to 5 if they had any sort of bass.

Excellent battery life, and great for working out.

Overall, these headphones function perfectly and have to be the most comfortable in-ear headphones I’ve owned. I have worn them practically everyday for the past three weeks, mostly for several consistent hours during the day listening to the news and various audiobooks. I keep one headphone in one ear, and tuck the other away on the front of my shirt collar. Ive never had any issues with the battery draining down at all, so I’d say the hour rating is pretty accurate. Ive worn them during workouts also while having no issues with them falling out or any moisture issues. They also stay surprisingly clean compared to my white earbuds that I used prior to buying these. The sound quality is comparable to many headphones that I’ve owned for more than double the cost of these. The bass can be a bit much on some songs but I just prefer my music a bit more treble based. I solved this by changing the settings on my phones equalizer. They do have phone and Siri function too so if you’re looking for a set that you can make and receive calls on, these will do the job. I used them for several hour long phone calls while driving which kept me from having to hold my phone. As for any issues I had, they were very, very minor. They turn on by holding the main button on the right down until you hear the chime, though thats not the same button you use to change or rewind songs. The main button serves the purpose of turning the on and off, pausing audio, and calling the last person in your recent call log, the latter being the most confusing to me since I’ve never had need for that function nor known a headset to have that function. I made a few accidental calls getting used to this. I have an iPhone, so in my case the Siri function, along with the song change and replay function was accessed through the volume buttons on the top of the right headphone. The button function between the two seems a bit odd to me, but overall this has nothing to do with the functioning of the headset itself. Other than that, you have to hang the other headphone on your shirt if you only want to have one in your ear because the second headphone will weigh the wire down making it pull on the headphone that is currently in.Pros: -THE MOST comfortable in ear headphones I’ve owned -good bluetooth range and quick connection -great sound and bass -lightweight -great battery life -they charge quickly -stylish -what you see in the pictures is exactly what you get -Siri and phone call ability -they stay surprisingly clean considering what I do all day at work -excellent for exerciseCons: -odd button function

    Short life span

Comfortable and hard to lose w/ decent sound quality but water resistant quality is suspect. Only got 4 months out of mine when they just decided to stop taking a charge. I tend to use these in heavy perspiration type activities but they were not up to the challenge.

    OK good value ear buds

Overall, I am happy with these. They have stood up to regular use and I use them frequently. Battery life is sufficient. For making phone calls, others understand me well and their voice is clear. The sound quality is only so so. Do not expect hifi quality at this price. My biggest gripe is the fit: for sports earbuds, the loopy thing around your ear needs to be tighter or have a flexible wire in it to get a tighter grip on the ear. It is loose and just flops instead. The different size ear pieces are nice but none of them provided a perfect fit for my weirdly shaped ear canal opening, which is what i usually expect. However, with the floppy ear loop I could never get the ear buds fully stay in my ear canals. They kind of gradually slide out and flop around close to my ear holes needing periodic adjustment when running, walking, biking, or doing yard work. Since they are meant for sport, that’s a bit of a bummer. Having said that, they have also never fully fallen off. It’s just that after a while you don’t hear the music as well. It is more of an annoyance than anything else. Overall, good value but not deserving of 5 stars either.

A very good buy for $20

The Blue Tooth headphones are pretty good. Sound quality isn’t amazing but is also pretty good. The controls are on the right earpiece and easy to use. The volume controls seem to be backwards, the – volume is towards the front and + at the rear. They arrived almost fully charged. I was able to pair the headset with the Fire Stick with no problems. For some reason though it won’t pair with my LG sound bar or my Samsung Galaxy S6. I tried multiple times to pair them but it won’t take. The headphones come with a short cable (11.5 inches long) for charging but the headphones take the same jack as my cell phone so that’s great. Last night I was watching Netflix on the Fire Stick and using the headphones. I had the room dark with a couple candles burning on my coffee table. One thing that was very annoying is the small blue ON indicator light on the right earpiece reflects off the bottom right of my right eyeglass lens. It’s an intermittent pinhole light, blinking on and off that faces forward. At first I couldn’t figure out what was reflecting off my glasses lens. Kept looking around for the source. Once I figured out what the source was I moved the earpiece around a bit, trying to focus the blinking light elsewhere but to no avail. Also the volume control, if it was on a 10 scale, zero being off and ten the loudest, I can only turn the volume down to a 3. One more click further down mutes the volume. When I turn the headphones ON or OFF there is a pleasant female voice that tells me the headphones are off or on if I have them in my ears at the time. The in-the-ear plug fits well as does the over-the-ear piece. The over-the-ear piece is a flexible rubbery material that didn’t scuff or pinch on my outer ear. I wore them for about 3 hours last night and there was no discomfort at all. In the past if I wanted to use headphones on my TV I was tethered to the TV by a long audio cable extension with my Skull Candy ear buds. With these Blue Tooth ear phones I am no longer attached to the TV and can get rid of that long extension cord. The sound quality for these headphones aren’t as good as my Skull Candy ear buds but overall the sound is good. I would like to be able to decrease the volume more. My overall opinion of these headphones is pretty good. For $20 my expectations weren’t that high but they are worth keeping.

    Worth every dollar!

Wow so I just looked up when I got these and turns they’ve lasted 6 years (2017-2023) so I figured I’d leave a review! These have been a very trusty pair of earbuds. The sound is clear and they connect easily to my phone (at least 2 different Samsung galaxies) every time. I personally like the wire cause it keeps them together. Granted, they do fit in the ear well but they can also easily be knocked out. But again, there’s a wire that helps with that. My usage is on the lower average side, I didn’t always use them daily but there were periods of time where I was using them daily, for metro rides to/from work, grocery shopping, etc. So a charge holds for a very long time for me, like these go for hours until they need another charge. If I had to guess I’d say 6-8 hours of charge. Technically they still work but one ear just now shorted out the other day and I don’t like having one ear left out so I’ll probably replace them soon. But they had a really good run! For $20ish dollars I think I got my money’s worth.

Great headphones! Stand up to heavy use!

I have ordered these several times in the past few years. I use them several hours a day, every day including the in the rain and shower, so I don’t expect them to last longer than 12-18 months, and I’m happy with that!Having said that, the last set I ordered failed within 3 months. I reached out to the company and they were wonderful to work with, in particular Olivia. She mailed out a replacement set the same day I contacted them and was very kind.I’ll continue using these, and I regularly recommend!

    good bluetooth headphones

I ordered a pair in march 2023 used them for about a month, with my iphone in my pocket, they would keep disconnecting from bluetooth randomly, two feet from my pocket to my ears, Usually I’d deal but decided to contact the manufacturer, they emailed me within a day or two, and said they’d send a replacement when I described the issue, got the new pair less than a week later, zero issues with this pair, showing that this manufacture backs the warranty of their products and was a pleasant surprise when many manufacturers just blow you off with one excuse or another or worse no response at all. That said the headphones work well, sound is decent for the price, come with plenty of different size ear buds, wire tensioner and shirt clip plus a nice little rigid case. I’m no audiophile but these are perfect for working out, block some sound, don’t sound tinny and battery life is really good, no exact time but i’ve used them for hours at a time for days at varying volume and still had charge left, Uses a Usb-c charger(little cord included ) whichI like instead of micro usb. Between their great customer service, quick response and their hassle free replacement, and the actual decent sounding headphones I recommended these if you need quality wired bluetooth headphones from a stand up company.

    Fantastic Value

These are by far the best value headphones I’ve found on Amazon. When I first got them I didn’t like the short the wire, bulky the earpieces, or the play/pause button being on the right earpiece.I’m still annoyed by the short wire, which causes the earpieces to swing up and hit my face if I bend over too quickly. But I love the superior sound made possible at a cheap price by the size of the headphones, and the button on the earpiece lets me pause or play with my wrist or shoulder if my hands are dirty or full.Best of all, my first set lasted nearly a year, 2 or 3 times longer than most of the half dozen low priced wireless headphone brands I’ve gotten from Amazon.Unlike other inexpensive brands, Otium headphones also come with a one-year warranty. Olivia from Otium’s customer service was very helpful. She sent me a free replacement within a week of my claim when my first set stopped working and helped ensure that I will continue to buy from Otium in the future.

Worked great at first, but declined over time

I’m probably a bad example. I work out between 3 and 5 times a week. By the end of any workout, I’m sweating profusely – so much so that I carry a spare shirt. Sometimes the workouts are in the gym, other times in my neighborhood. My workouts probably average 90 minutes, but can last longer. I think my PR is about 6 hours or so when I walked a half-marathon through a forest trail. That said, I love these earbuds! They stay put, and they sound great. But I’m not sure they last long enough. In the last 3 months or so, they’ve been cutting out. At first I thought it was sweat or wax blocking the sound so I cleaned them thoroughly, but now I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it.The other indicator is that it’s not like the music keeps playing and I’m just not hearing it. Oh no. It’s actually _stopped_. But then it randomly starts from where it stopped and look later stops again. I don’t know what the problem is and it doesn’t happen until late in my workout, so maybe something is affecting it in unexpected ways. Still it’s a concern. I have no solution at this time, although I want to rule out the phone, so I’ll be rebooting that every time this happens.Bottom line: it’s a great product, but you might end up replacing it periodically.

Overall good but needs some improvement

Overall I am pleased with these headphones. The sound quality is good, I wasn’t expecting audiophile grade for this price but when driving or working out it’s just right. I don’t find myself needing to turn the volume up much more than half way to hear my music/movies/podcasts. The noise canceling ability is very good and someone talking to me from just a couple of feet away will be tuned out. As for comfort, anything that’s getting stuck in my ear will be noticeable after a while, however, unless I’m laughing a lot I can handle these for over 1.5 hours. I am not sure if they were designed to be worn in such a manner, but when I put these on I will rotate them backwards to feel more secure. This puts the ear hooks in a more conformed position with the back of my ear. These come with different sized ear pieces which is always nice and I figured they would. The hooks that go over your ear are flexible but they can’t be contoured into a different position that will stay that way. These have not fall out/off my ears, but they don’t feel 100% secure. I’ve tested with shaking my head around in an unnatural way and they stay on. There’s just something about these that isn’t a perfect fit. However, as I stated they don’t fall off. As have been said in other reviews when the battery is getting low, roughly 30 minutes left, there is an automated voice saying “battery is low.” Yes it is annoying and they probably could have done it better but it’s not a complete deal breaker. On a full charge I get roughly 7.5 hours of play time. These are not fully hands free. There is a function to redial the last number called. Voice dialing or accessing Siri with these is not an option. I’ve even tried to use my Apple Watch to acess siri to make a call but if the headphones are on, it won’t work. It will answer a call if you push the power button and hang up if pushed again. I still swipe my phone to answer a call and it prompts my iPhone to switch to the built in speakers of the phone, however with an iPhone it’s a simple matter to switch back to the headphones. During one call I had one ear piece out and the person on the other line started to hear the ambient noise around me and was having trouble hearing me. Syncing to my phone was not a problem. I would probably try a different headphone style after these die just to find a better fit, but would keep these in the back of my mind since I’ve been fairly content with these, despite the limited hands free abilities.

Good customer serivce… but the earphone just fails to deliver

I have had tried this earphone twice over 6 months. I tried several wireless earphones… 5 different pairs. Like everything else, it has its pros and cons… and I thought I’d share my own experience with the product herePros :1. I can run with this earphone on my ear and it would not fall off. It is secured in its place and it would not move. I had other earphones that kept falling off my ear while walking… so compared to that, this earphone, especially with its over the ear hook design is a big plus. I am not sure if I will ever buy an wireless earphone without the over the ear hook design.2. It does cancel out noise to a moderate extent.3. The customer service was great. When I contacted them with the issue that I started experiencing, they were very responsive and sent me another pair as a replacement. but the great things about this earphone pretty much end there.Because of their great service, I really tried to like this earphone… and didn’t want to write a bad review… but … I decided that I would give it 2 stars due to the following reasons that I’m about to describe below.Cons1. The biggest flaw of this earphone is that it keeps going blank every few seconds if the mp3 player moves around or if I put the player in my pocket. It keeps losing the sound or the signal. If I’m running on a treadmill where the mp3 player is sitting near by and I’m running… it plays fine. However, if I run on the road where my mp3 player is moving back and forth in my grip or attached to my arm, the sound is keep getting cut off. If I walk around while holding the mp3 player relatively steady at my elbow level… it would be somewhat ok… but as soon as i put my hand down or place the mp3 player in my pocket or a bag behind me, it would lose sound again every few seconds. It’s just not listenable. I tried other wireless (more expensive) headphone on the same mp3 player and tried the same thing and I had no sound issue. I tried the earphone on other bluetooth devices and I am experiencing the same problem again. I have tried few other devices switching back and forth to prove that it is the earphone issue, not my mp3 player issue. The first earphone was fine for a month or two… and I then started experiencing this issue. After few weeks narrowing down the source of problem and debating what to do with it, I contacted the customer support. They were very responsive and sent me another newer version of the earphone. The second set was fine straight out of the box for a month… and then the same issue is happening again.2. The sound quality… The ad promises “superb bass sound”… but to me… it is basically a muffle sound with not much treble… the sound quality is just a bit better than a free earphone that get from an airplane. I have older wireless Avantree earphone that I purchased at a similar price. That sound quality is so much better than this earphone. Another earphone that I tried, SoundPEATS Bluetooth Headphones, also has a better sound. If I run on a treadmill and watch a movie with other earphones, I can hear the conversation quite well. With this earphone, I have to guess what they are saying… because it’s so muffled out that it’s hard to clearly hear the conversation…. even with the loud volume. The sound is loud enough… but it’s just that it’s not a clear sound.I give 2 stars for their excellent service…. but I’m sorry to say that the earphone has failed me and I will be searching for another earphone.

Great feel, great fit, but callers may complain your background is noisy

I’ve been using these for just about 2 weeks. They fit nicely and have ear hooks that keep them in place when my ears get sweaty. I also confidently use them while “number-one-ing”. Once secured, they won’t fall in the loo. They charge quickly and have lasted over 8 hours on both GSM and data calls. They also come with extra tips that are different in size, which means you should be able to find a pair that fits your ears. All buttons of operation are on the right bud, the power, volume up and down, and even the charging port which is USB micro. I won’t comment on the box they came in since after unboxing, I don’t usually re-use the box, (although its a good idea to keep each product box until the respective warranty expires).Which brings me to my one and only product concern. The people on the other side of my calls keep telling me that at intervals I sound as if I’m at the back of the room, there’s water pouring in my background, or its if I’m handling a lot of plastic bags. Sometimes I disconnect and reconnect to try resolve this issue, however most of the time it goes away on its own, until its back again.Fits my ears well, feels great to the touch and battery life is proper, at 8 hours plus before recharging. But it can be frustrating if ever so often your convo is interrupted by the person on the other side of the call saying, “I can’t hear you, your background is very noisy”.Edit : I think I understand why my friends and family aren’t really hearing me as proper, as when I use other earbuds. When the Otium is maneuvered into place over my ears in the correct position, as displayed in the sixth picture on the product website, the microphones are positioned parallel to my eyes (and mouth). My other earbuds which is designed with their microphones pointing down towards my mouth, make for a much better listening experience for my callers. Will do another update if necessary.Edit. Since Valentine’s Day, even after being fully charged, it randomly powers off and comes on whenever it feels like after a long press of the power on button.

Great choice if you are rough on headphones.

I’ve purchased these a few times. I am realy rough on headphones. I run them through the wash, I step on them, I run over them with the lawnmower. These don’t stand up to any of that but they are cheap enough that it doesn’t hurt to just replace them. It’s also really hard to find over ear buds and these do that nicely. great for biking if things fall out of your ears.

Please keep the price point in mind when reading this review because I have had better headphones but not at this price point.I like how comfortable they are once I found the right size cover. Used them all day and still going. You can also change the volume and song from the headphone itself. Not AS loud or noise cancelling as I would like and the bass is practically nonexistent as I have experienced better bass boost on cheaper headphones, but they are decent.

    Great Headphones For the Gym

I ordered the Otium Beats Bluetooth headphones recently as I was in need of a new pair of workout headphones. I am an avid gym-goer; I try to go at least five times a week. I do everything from lifting to running so the headphones I need had to be durable yet still retain a good sound quality. I am going to discuss the quality and fit of the headphones, as well as their resilience to sweat and constant use. Finally, I will give my final thoughts about the product as a whole.Quality and FitThese headphones are clearly made for those who enjoy exercise, as they are fit with an over the ear loop that makes sure they do not fall off while you are running. The two earpieces are connected via a cord that goes behind your head. I really like this feature as it is none intrusive and does not get in the way when you are bench pressing or doing other lifts. The actual fit of the headphones is really good; I have never had them fall out or become loose in my ear, so the sound quality remains the same throughout the workout. Speaking of the sound quality, the headphones have performed exceptionally well so far. They block out outside noise and the bass and other sounds are very crisp and clear. Since they are also Bluetooth headphones, I wondered how well the connection would hold up in the gym. I have never had a problem with it, and have been able to walk a solid distance away and still had it connected. So as a whole in this section, I would score the headphones very highly as they are a great fit and sound fantastic.DurabilitySince these are workout headphones, my main concern was how durable they would be and how well they would hold up against sweat and constant use for hours at a time. They are listed as sweat-proof, and I have definitely put them to the test. I am happy to say that my sweating has not affected them at all, and they have not malfunctioned because of it. On the headphones are buttons that allow you to change the volume and songs that you are listening to. The button for changing the volume is great, and has never stuck or stopped working. The button press for changing the song is somewhat unconventional, but it is a feature I rarely find myself wanting to use, as my phone is usually close by and then I can actually see the song I am choosing. Another aspect to the durability of headphones would have to be their battery life. I feel like if a pair of headphones is perfect in everyway but the battery dies in under and hour or something like that, then they are not worth it. These headphones actually really surprised me when it came time to charge them. They are listed on Amazon as lasting for 8 hours on a charge, so I thought I would test this. I charged them out of the box, and then did not have to charge them for two weeks worth of gym time, which is far more than eight hours. These headphones are very durable and the battery life on them is exceptional.ConclusionOverall, I could not recommend these headphones more. They are long lasting, durable, and the sound quality is just as good as any other on the market that I have tried. Anyone who goes to the gym often will definitely enjoy them as they are worth every penny.

Good product, but the battery can be weird at times

I’ve used this product maybe 5 times or so since purchase. Made sure to put it back in it’s cool little case once done. The sound quality is great for the price and convenience, but there are some oddities or drawbacks to it. For one, the connection takes a while to establish. I’ve tried this product with 2 phones just to be sure, and it takes a solid 30-60 seconds to establish a connection to the headphones. There’s also an issue with the battery. When I first received it, I discharged the battery completely like you’re supposed to do with any battery powered item, and then fully recharged it. Took it to work with me the next day and everything was perfect, battery life was at 70% by the time I stopped using it. Thought that was pretty stellar since it was a total of 6 hours of usage. I went to use it the next day and the battery read 50%… thought that was odd, but ok, no biggie. I’d at least have several hours of listening time before it hit 0%. Wrong. Once the 30% mark rolled around, it keeps saying “BATTERY LOW” every minute, even when listening to something. As annoying as it was, I kept listening to my music, but after about 5 mins of “BATTERY LOW” the device shuts off. I turn it back on, and immediately get another alert, and it shuts off again. I look at the battery life expecting it to read 0% but it still reads 30%. I grabbed my other phone thinking it was getting a false positive percentage and that one also says 30%. After getting it home and recharging it that night, I tested the whole scenario out again, listened to music all day for a total of 7.5hrs. Same situation. 30% rolls around “BATTERY LOW!” and then shuts off.Like I said, not a bad device by any means for the price, but you get what you pay for in every instance, so just make sure you keep in mind that a 30% battery life readout means next to nil.EDIT: Since posting this, Otium has reached out to me and offered to replace my headphones. At this point, regardless of functionality, any company that is willing to do that after 2+ years with no warranty extension is good in my books. Hopefully the issue hasn’t persisted past my original set.UPDATE: Unfortunately the new set received by Otium was similar, only it took far less time to start up. After 5 months of use, the new set of headphones began battery issues, where a full charge would read 100% on my phone, and then after one song, immediately drop to 30%, scream “BATTERY LOW” at me for 2 more mins before dying at 0%. The battery has a short lifespan, worse than most. At this point, I recommend just going with a higher price product with warranty included.

    These headphones are … fine.

These get the job done for a relatively low price, but there are trade-offs. If you’re replacing the original Plantronics Backbeat Fit headphones, keep looking.Pros: Price, battery life (7-8 hours maybe?), waterproofing (sweat, rain, shower), responsive physical buttons that are easy to use through ear-warmer headbands and with gloves.Meh: Sound quality, ability to let in some environmental noise (for running), charge time. Earpiece options in different sizes. Wanted headphones that are connected so I can drape them around my neck, but the cord is so long and loose (and the rubber adjustment piece falls off with a gentle accidental tug), nonetheless still glad to have the cord because…Cons: Bulky and prone to being bumped out of my ears. Even using the smallest rubber earpiece, they stick out quite a bit. The over-ear pieces are too large to do much good around my medium-small ears, resulting in a loose fit that tips to the edge of my ear rather than a secure fit against the side of my head. These do let in some environmental noise but seem to block out sounds of approaching vehicles and conversations that I could hear better with the old Backbeat Fits, and somehow the quality of the sound in the buds is also worse, so I don’t hear anything quite as well as I’d like.I’m on the hunt for something better for my preferences, but for now these serve well enough, and it’s nice to have something at a low price point to use for situations with higher risk of damage or loss.

Just purchased my second pair. Had first pair over 2 years sadly the wires had been crushed in 2 places due to my purse strap.

    Worst headphones ever!!

These either don’t work at all or only for a short time. Don’t waste your money.
