My 17 month old and 3 year old both LOVE this! It’s too bad to see that it’s discontinued. This cute little dino really offers a lot of play and learning opportunities. Both my boys just love feeding the dinosaur. It’s great fine motor practice for my younger one, and he has learned to “poke poke” his finger to get the food in. It took him a little while to learn, and I think the fact that he gets rewarded with songs helped him to persevere. He’s learned the names of a couple of the pieces of food in the past couple days already! The dinosaur says the name of the food while it is “eating.” I notice that a lot of the electronic toys seems to offer lights and music as entertainment (ie, vehicles that happen to have a button on them to and play music), but on this toy, the electronic functions really seem to enhance the learning. There’s volume control, and the VTech songs never both me as much as some of the other toys we have. You can play with this toy in two modes — in one, the children learn counting, and in the other, the children learn the names of the foods. It’s nice to see a variety of healthy foods represented and hear the dinosaur singing songs about healthy fruits and veggies. My boys love turning the wheel on the dinosaur to have a “dance party.” There are also wheels at the bottom and a pull string. I was pleasantly surprised by that! My youngest LOVES pulling toys around on a string, and my older one likes to push the dinosaur around when he’s pretending.

    Not Unhappy; Not Thrilled

This isn’t really the right age as it advertises. My one year old, who is strong, can’t push the disks through the slot. The content is a little too advanced too (maybe count up to 5, 8 is a long one for a one year old’s focus). It is a you he will grow into using but right now just gets thrown a lot. It does stand up to a lot of being thrown, that being said, without any signs of breaking. It does call back when ignored which bothers me as I feel like it is both a waste of battery and calling his attention from other exploring and playing.

Great for littles when they are learning to grasp items.

This was a gift for my little on his first birthday and hasn’t disappointed. It has multiple interactive modes, feeding the Dino the different food chips, counting with the chips and interactive buttons on the Dino. It has two volume modes and then off. I’m not worried about him choking on any of the items that come with the toy which is a relief since we are in the “everything goes to my mouth” stage. I highly recommend this toy for birthdays or just because.

This was the hit of the party, gave it to my nephew and he didn’t want to play with any other birthday toys, just this. Works well and teaches at same time, perfect size for small child. If have a tendency to put things in mouth, may need to watch to make sure coins don’t end up in their mouth.

    Giftable

I brought this for my 9month old. I knew she probably wouldn’t understand the purpose of the toy but she enjoys sticking the circle pieces into her mouth, lol. I, however, like that it doesn’t take up too much space, it has volume control, it talks, and can be dragged around. Only con so far is how this toy will not shut up until you turn it off.

Used like new was not like new

I saved $5 by purchasing the ‘used like new’ option. The description said some package damage was observed. I was gifting this to my own 1 year old, so no big deal. Not only was the display box pretty beat up, with a piece of packing tape across the whole thing, but the external box was pretty banged up as well. It was also a day late. Also, it was supposed to come with 8 disks. One was completely loose in the external box and one was completely missing. I would not have labeled this as ‘like new. ‘ However, saving $5 for 1 disk missing doesn’t seem worth the hassle of a return, but wanted to let others know if they’re thinking of gifting to someone else or this would have been a big deal to them. The item came with batteries and works and the baby enjoys it.

    Cute toy

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 2 year old great grandson. He loves dinosaurs. He also loves that it has flashing lights and makes enough noise to drive mama crazy. Mama and I love that it is fun but also educational. All the coins you use for different activities store inside. It seems very well made and I think it will be very durable. Highly recommend.

    Wonderful toy!

My one year old son loves it! And my four year old had fun playing with it with my one year old! Great for both ages! It includes activities that both can learn something from! My son liked to try to put other things in its mouth too. So, be aware of that if you can see your child doing that. But the design is straightforward enough that things don’t get stuck very easily. Just have the coins around it so they’ll be more inclined to put those things in instead.

    Good for learning

I got this for my Goddaughter and she loves it. It helps with colors and numbers and keeps her entertained. You just have to feed the dinosaur whatever it asks for. For easy cleanup you can just leave the pieces inside the dinosaur and then when you are ready to play again just dump them out.

    Fun toy for little ones

I purchased two of these dinosaurs as gifts for my 8 and10 month old grandsons. They both loved the lights, singing, and the ability to roll the dinosaur along the floor. The funny part is each of these grandsons had an older sibling, 2.5 and 5 years of age. The older siblings loved the dinosaur, too!

    GREAT FOR TODDLERS

I originally bought this a few year back for my nephew (pre kid). He absolutely loved it. Now that I have a little one of my own, I decided to get it for him as well. He has a lot of fun, but finds it hard to get the chip/tokens in the dinos mouth. Other than that it’s a toy that’s growing with him and he still enjoys to this day!

    My Granddaughter Loves It!

I bought this for my 15 month old granddaughter and she plays with it every time she is here. I seen some reviews say that it hard to get the coins in the mouth. While it does take a bit of a push it’s not that hard. I feel it teaches them to try a bit harder. She caught on quickly when we showed her. It will help with counting and colors. I thought it was a good buy for the price and it keeps her entertained.
