Description
From the manufacturer
his system’s Bluetooth Connect to Cell integrates your cell phone for your calls at home, with or without a landline. Compatible with Bluetooth version 2.0 or above devices, you can pair up two cell devices (cell phone or Bluetooth headset), and connect one cell device to be used with landline calls at the same time.
Even if your cell phone is in a different room, you can still place a call, write or read a text, access Siri or Google Now from the cordless handsets.
Note: for optimal performance of the cordless system, keep the cell device charged and located within 15 feet of the telephone base. Your cell phone’s battery discharges faster while it is connected to the telephone base via Bluetooth wireless technology.

So far so good.
I bought it for the 1k numbers call block feature. I haven’t been disappointed as it is working as advertised. The price was very good. I’ve had other V-Tech phones over the years and they have always been good value for the money.

Great Phones, Sound A Little Low
Great phones but I wished the volume was a bit louder and clearer call wise. I really like the call screening and robo blocker options. The battery life has been great so far and linking my cellphone to the base was a breeze.Really the only issue is the volume when taking a call. Even at its highest volume, it seems a little low (just one more bar higher I would’ve given 5 stars). I didn’t have this problem with my other Vtech set.Even if it had a hearing accessibility option, that would’ve helped. So I wouldn’t suggest this phone for someone who has hearing issues ( I’m not hard of hearing and sometimes its hard to hear the caller).

Wonderful with hear sofs
This bluetooth phone paired with my bluetooth phonak hearing aids!!!I have profound hear loss. I can now tap a button on my hear aid to answer this phone. The phones speaker comes directly thru my hear aids, and I talk back with my aids, never touching my phone. This is the best landline phone I ever had and I am 82 yrs old. I congratulate the manufacture on this phone, and at this low price. Thank you.

A step backwards
We live in Leland NC which has been growing at a very fast rate . With that being said , Verizon Wireless has been extremely slow to respond to the growth so has all of the other companies which brings me to our dilemma . Even though we installed a Verizon provided extender which did help in the house our service is NOT acceptable , dropped calls & at times poor quality (can you hear me now) . So because of the cellphone issues & not much help other then the extender plus 2 emails to the state agency about bad service did we install a landline . Hence the purchase of these phones . We’ve had Vtech phones in the past & bought these due to past experience . A big screen because of older eyes plus enough features & an answering machine is all we needed . The sound quality is very good , too plus blue tooth capable .

Great customer service
This was my original 1 star review:My 90 year old Dad had an earlier VTech phone system that had a problem where periodically the audio would stop working. My Dad would make a call and he could hear the other person but the called person could not hear him. VTech advised us to unplug the main unit and then disconnect the battery in each of the handsets, wait a couple of minutes, and then plug everything back in. That was kind of annoying so we bought a new set of VTech phones for him, this time the VTECH VS112-3. Unfortunately this system periodically does the exact same thing! Every other month or so the audio stops working and we have to unplug the main unit and disconnect the battery in each handset. After plugging everything back in the audio works fine. VTech tech support told us that they have never heard of this problem with this model. They had us send them the system so they could study the problem. They sent us a replacement system and it has the exact same problem! Every couple of months the audio stops working and my 90 year old dad has to go through the reset steps described above. It is really not acceptable. We should have returned them when it first happened. Why did I upgrade it to 4 stars? Vtech customer service escalated the issue and replaced the phone system. So far no problems. hopefully it keeps working.

Painful design
I got this set to move away from one with soft buttons which inevitably break over time. Boy, was I wrong. The design of this set seems purposefully done to torture the user as much as possible.Cons:* The handsets are SLOW to react to user input (e.g. when you scroll through the missed calls, it’s slower than one per second). This is by far the worst point, since it affects everything else.* When you enter a number, then pause for a few seconds without dialing (e.g. to look for something), the handset decides it waited long enough for you and erases everything you typed, without any way to get it back other than typing the number again. This might seem like a small thing until you are trying to call a number as you hear the digits from somewhere, and then quickly stop to write down some info you will need in the call.* The missed calls obscure voice messages, so until you clear all the missed calls you won’t know whether you have any messages.* There is no way to look just at missed calls, so if you missed one a while ago you have no choice but to _slowly_ scroll one entry at a time through the call log until you find the culprit.* It doesn’t have voice announcement. Until now, I didn’t realize how useful this was to hear who is calling without interrupting your work to look.* Only a couple of years down the road, the microphones on the handsets mysteriously stopped working. In the darkness of your home, nobody can hear you scream.* No clip to hang it to your shirt while talking and working around the house.Pros: you can use it for basic function, sometimes.

Battery life is horrible and the handsets loses connection to base periodically!
8/29/23 Update: Now when I have multiple voicemails I can’t simply delete the whole lot by hitting the delete key twice. I have to go each message and delete them individually. This was not the case until yesterday. This phone system is absolutely the most regrettable purchase I’ve ever made!7/23/23 Update: I would not wish this phone onto my worst enemy!!! It is horrible beyond anything. I am now going to waste money throwing this garbage out and go back to using my old Panasonic set which the only reason I was getting rid of was the short battery life. Unfortunately, this brand new VTech set has even shorter battery life and a host of many, many other issues. The Panasonic set still works perfectly, I just have to recharge the handsets every day.I bought this set to replace our previous Panasonic set that also had the ability to connect cell phones to it. The older set’s batteries started to go so I bought this VTech set. At first all was fine but in the last couple of months of using it (I’ve only been using it for 4 months), the battery life on the handsets is horrible. We barely use the phone and get perhaps 4-6 junk calls daily. Based on that we are recharging the batteries every couple of days. That is pretty bad for a brand new phone.Periodically we will go make a call and the handset will tell us that its not connected to the base, even though we are within 15 feet of the base. For this I usually swap out the handset with the one that is sitting on the base.Today we experienced a new problem. Went to make a call and no dial tone. Tried another handset and same thing. I attached out wired phone and did get dial one so confirmed that the issue was not with the phone service but with the VTech base unit. I unplugged it for 30 seconds, plugged it back in and let it “boot” up. After that we had dialtone.I really would stay clear from this phone set.

Saved Our Sanity
Before we install this VTech phone, we were getting three to four spam calls a day, sometimes more. We are on the Do Not Call List but the spammers are finding new ways around this.Installation was easy. There’s even a voice feature that will walk you through setup. The calls stopped immediately. You will only get calls you add to your white list. Unsolicited callers get a prompt that asks them to press pound and leave a message. Robot spammers can’t do this. There was one problem we had initially. I noticed we were getting a call every 30 minutes (which did not ring) but there was no CID information. We tried to resolve this through the very patient VTech support but nothing was working. We were also getting strange readings from our home alarm system. I decided to pack up the phone and send it back. At the 11th hour, before return the phone, we figured out what happened. We recently had a new fiber transceiver installed to the house. Also, we do not have messaging service through our phone provider because this phone has an answering machine. What happened is the new fiber box turned on messaging. The messaging service sends a signal every 30 minutes to your phone. Therefore, the VTech was showing a call every 30 minutes. Problem solved. We kept the phone and it has been blissfully quiet ever since.

Bluetooth Not What I Hoped
The phones were nice with great features which did not work for me in reality. I was really hoping that I connect my cell phone through the Bluetooth and answer both from the handset. I got my cell phone to connect but the call quantity was not there and calls were constantly dropping. I am not sure if this had something to do with my iPhone or having the base close to the router? I ended up returning the phone.

Good product
I wish I had purchased the same brand of phone as my old one as this setup was so different from the new one. Even the instructions and watching YouTube didn’t answer my questions. If I misspelled the name, I had to delete the name and number and start over with submitting a number to the phonebook….not so with the other brand.

NO SPEED DIALING – REALLY? YES REALLY!
Used to be a time when you needed something, you got it, it did what you wanted and you were happy. Not so today. This is the second Vtech set I’m returning within a week. The first one was CS6529 which in most respects worked okay. BUT the background display color was too dark and the font was too light – couldn’t see a thing on it. Returned that. Then I called Vtech told the rep what I wanted and he suggested this model VS112. The good points are that the sound is pretty good, the volume very adjustable and the display is somewhat better (I could work with it) than the 6529. HOWEVER, the one thing I really wanted was SPEED DIALING and after trying to program it I thought I was stupid because I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Well there’s a reason why and it’s not because I’m dumb – the phone DOESN’T have it. What phone today doesn’t have speed dial? Come on. I looked at a few reviews but it didn’t occur to me to look at the questions. Now I see that when the specific question is asked Speed Dialing? the reply is “We apologize but the VTech VS112-2 does not have speed dial”. Why did they stop making the phone set I originally had? It was terrific in every aspect. They should have left well enough alone. This is what they call progress? Let’s just say I’m very ticked off.

Extremely disappointing in every way
I bought a Vtech phone years ago and it did a good job, so when it came time to replace my landline phone sets, I expected an even better product, given the advanced technologies. First of all, they say that it can be a wall unit (which is what my previous phone was), and yet the cheap piece of plastic sent to cover the plate didn’t do it. It was a one-size-fits-all plate, and hangs horizontally – so you see the wall plate under it. AWFUL! Then the satellite phone docs and phones are so light that every time I reach for the phone or clock on my night stand the phone tips over, sending it and whatever is anywhere near it falling to the floor. Maddening! The voice quality is what I would call ‘adequate’. Worse than the unit I had that was made more than a decade before. Maybe two decades. As I had an easy-to-use message built into my carrier phone, I didn’t want to use Vtech’s – which is cumbersome at best. But it would not let me override it, despite the instructions. And finally, just turning the phone on and off has its problems – no simple on and off. Speaker phone makes everything better on my end but awful for people on the other end. And i have inadvertently called the first person listed on my directory because the phone calls her when all I want to do is scroll through the directory. If it wasn’t for the fact that a kind friend went out of his way to install and set it up for me, I would return it. But at this point, it has people’s numbers in it, I would have to ask him to come again and set up whatever I got next, and I just can’t take advantage of his kindness again. But as I said, I would return it in a minute if I could.

Had A Problem…Think I Fixed it
I had a Vtech Phone (2 handsets) for years. It still worked, but I dropped one of them and the “talk” button broke. They didn’t make that model anymore so I couldn’t just replace the handset. I bought this one & it worked great for a couple of weeks. Then one day it just stopped working and said “no power at base or out of range”. I plugged in my old one and used it for a couple of days. I checked all the connections on the new one and plugged it back in and it works again. I’m hoping it was just the connection because the return window closed 5/9. I don’t know if they will allow a return if it stops working again. I have only had it for about a month. I do really like it tho. I love the call block feature. I sometimes get 5 or more “nuisance” calls a days. I set it up so anything that’s not in my phone book goes to voicemail. It has saved my sanity! I will update if it stops working again.

Sound issues
I am not fond of this phone to say the least! The handsets are VERY slippery! The only way to listen is to put the phone on speaker. If you try to listen to the “regular” speaker, you must position it perfectly, and hold it rock steady. The phone is pretty decent if you put it on speaker, and manage to hold on to it. It does hold up well to multiple bounce tests.

Annoying problem for a new phone system.
I have had this phone system for approx 2 months. At first it worked great! Since then until recent, the phone does not let me dial anyone. The first time I had this happen, I thought it was my carrier, Comcast. They had me undo the connection for the phone to my modem. After doing so, it still did not work. The rep told me they if it still did not work it was the phone and that air had to undo everything from the main phone and the extension each. That meant having to unplug the phones, take out the batteries from the back of the phones, and reset all the settings as if I was initially setting it up. Once ai did that it worked, but here I am recently and the same problem is with me on this phone system. I do not have the time to keep undoing and resetting the phone every time this occurs! I am planning to call the company this week to see if the pairing of both my husband and my self’s cell phones are causing the problem. My husband recently needed to make a call from the phone and could not do it still. He said the only way it worked is if he put the phone on ‘speaker’. I really need to reach out to the company to see what is the problem. Until then, I am not happy with this purchase.

Randomly loses outgoing calling capability
I’ve had VTECH phones for a while. Most of the time this phone is fine. The form factor is larger than my previous version and feels a little more clunky but that’s a minor problem. This is the VS112-3 model. My major complaint is that randomly we lose the dial tone and can’t call out. You can call in and the phone will ring and work fine but you can’t call out. If I power-cycle the base it seems to fix the problem. I can see this happening once in a blue moon but it has happened a half dozen times in the last couple of months.Unfortunately I’m out of the return window so I’m basically stuck with this phone and will probably start shopping for a replacement and it will likely be a different brand.

Why I’d buy this again
Bought this phone for the call block functionality. I am silently blocking 10-15 calls per day (as high as 25 in a day). I’ve had this phone for 2 months now and a long the way I’ve picked up a couple of things that may help others. My environment…My wife and I have our cell phones permanently forwarded to our home phone (VOIP – MagicJack). Why? The cell phones ring 6 times before the VTECH answering system picks up. If we’re home, we use the VTECH phone as our cell reception is terrible. When we first got the phone..Connect via bluetooth and downloaded both our cell address books and had 256 phone numbers in the address book. Hint, you’ll get any TEXT 5 digit numbers that may be in your address book as well. I went thru and cleaned these up. Learn how to fast-path thru your directory.Next (what I wish I knew) – DISCONNECT YOUR CELLPHONES from your bluetooth VTECH phone after you’ve downloaded the address book. The cell interface may be nice but it adds a lot of addition things you need to know and introduces a number if problems and confusing rings that you don’t need. Some of the problems I’ve seen other users report on are similar to what I observed until I disconnected the cell/VTECH connection. There’s a lot to learn with the basic phone usage.I use the address book, WHITE list and STAR name features and all work fine.Block list – I don’t use this as most of the junk calls use random phone numbers in their calls. Blocking a number is almost useless unless you have that ‘special’ friend you want blocked.Observation – because I use VOIP (MagicJack, Vonage, etc), the scammers are using a technology to send their calls straight thru the VOIP service. This means they don’t show up on any of your incoming call reports you get from your phone providers. If your provider is supplying you with the verification mark with the number (ie. [V] 111-1111), it’s kind of useless. The scammers are already spoofing this as well. There’s a lot to learn with these phones, start with just the basics. My 2 cents worth..

Very light weight short base which barely supports weight and height of phone. Phone tips over and falls out of base with slightest touch. Manufacturer really cut cost on amount of plastic used to make this. I have an older Vtech phone which has fewer features but, is so much better and has a taller heavier stable base than this one. I will keep my old one and be returning this one.
