Not the worst, but not the best
It’s much smaller than expected and feels very light and cheap. The legs and head are both very short, But they seem to work fine if you are only wanting to use it as a tripod and put your phone in a horizontal position. However, it’s pretty useless as a tripod if you move your phone into any kind of vertical position, as the legs get in the way and there’s no way to position them to get it to not fall over.On the plus side, the joints in the legs have stayed tight and held their grip around most objects, albeit because of it’s small legs, they won’t grip anything that’s bigger than 1 1/2 inches in diameter very well.Though the phone clamp does fit and hold my iPhone 13 Pro (including an Otter Box Defender case) with no trouble.I’d say that unless you’re just going to use it as a single position tripod and nothing more, you’ll probably want to pass on this and buy something better.

Tiny but SOLID
Can’t recommend this strongly enough.* It’s small, but big enough* It’s not light, but light enoughI’ve bought two. Carried the first one throughout Europe for years and then gave it away to a friend I met on the West Highland Way (Scotland). These are amazing devices you can carry easily.

Small but mighty
I think that I shall never see a tripod like this Joby.OK, so there are actually a lot of similar options but I can vouch for this one to be (so far) very functional without frustration. Similar (knockoff?) flexpods have failed me in the past but am expecting a longish run out of this one based on leg joint action and stability. Also appreciate that the phone attachment can be removed to a standard thread mount in case I happen to find that point and shoot that hasn’t come out in years.

The legs pop out at base and become loose. No more grip. Do NOT recommend!
I liked it when I first got it, but after a short time(about a month,) one of the legs popped out at the base. I was able to pop it back in, but after that it kept coming out and the plastic ball socket lost its grip. The tripod is now pretty useless as the leg doesn’t stay in place. Before that happened, I hadn’t used it all that much. I wouldn’t recommend this product, especially if you are looking for something reliable or long-lasting. 🙁

Lightweight stand that supports my mirrorless camera. The downside is that the tripod is a little loose.

Has some flaws
I got this tripod to take selfies with me and my husband on a trip which it works great for if you are able to prop the phone on another object as well. If you do not have anything else to prop the phone on with it will fall over. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max which is bigger and heavier. Also, if your not careful the phone latch will pop off of your phone. I would purchase but just use with caution. I would not hang it out of the car window or any where with any height as I would not trust it to the hold the phone.

Versatile and Reliable – The JOBY GripTight ONE GP Phone Holder!
As someone who’s always on the lookout for practical and efficient gadgets, my recent purchase of the “JOBY GripTight ONE GP, Universal Phone Holder” has left me thoroughly impressed. One of the standout features of the JOBY GripTight ONE GP is its simple yet robust design. Its construction is rugged enough to hold my phone securely in place while maintaining a lightweight profile. The ease of installation and removal of the phone is a breeze, and its universal fit means it can handle various phone sizes without a hitch. The adjustable height and angle features require a slight learning curve but are well worth it. Although it might take a moment to find the perfect angle or height for viewing, once locked in, it stays put, providing a stable viewing experience, regardless of the environment. This flexibility has been particularly useful for hands-free calls, watching videos, and even for capturing steady photos or videos. When compared to other brands that I’ve tried, the JOBY GripTight ONE GP stands out significantly. It has shown better resilience to wear and tear, maintains a stronger grip on my phone, and provides more flexibility with positioning. Plus, its compact design makes it easy to pack and carry around, perfect for on-the-go use.In summary, the “JOBY GripTight ONE GP, Universal Phone Holder” is a fantastic accessory that does what it’s supposed to do, and does it well. The combination of its simplicity, durability, and flexibility make it a gadget that I’d highly recommend to anyone in need of a reliable phone holder.Whether you’re a professional looking for a handy tool for video calls, a content creator in need of steady video capture, or just someone who enjoys hands-free phone use, the JOBY GripTight ONE GP has got you covered! A well-deserved five stars from me.

Excellent design, compact and useful
I love the design of this thing. It is satisfying to expand and collapse. It has a very nice and stable platform assuming you have a relatively flat and stable surface for it.The design of the cradle makes it nice for holding your phone vertically or horizontally, and when vertical, there is a cutout for the charging port to be plugged in on the bottomThe only nitpick I have is that it can be a little too easy to start unscrewing the cradle from the base when you really just mean to rotate its orientation.

Weak limbs
I’m using this product with a larger iphone 13 pro. But it seems the phone is a little heavy for the support. The legs kind of sag after a few seconds. And when gripping to an object like a tree limb, it kind of relaxes. It usually doesn’t fall–but it’s scary.I’m thinking that I should have gone to one of the larger models. But this size is so convenient and I hate to five that up. For that reason I’m giving 4 stars..just don’t expect that adding a mic or light will allow it to stay in one place. Still very sturdy if you grip all 3 legs at once like selfies. But not set up in a tripod position. I think maybe too flexible!

Great improvement in design!
I bought one of these many years ago and for the last couple years I’ve had to fight with it to get it to hold position with my iPhone attached. Then I noticed the articulating “beads” becoming loose due to stress cracking making the whole thing floppy. The old one would never fold “flat” (90°) like this new one does, so I was always forcing it into position to get it into my backpack, the force finally caused the cracking. Apparently the engineers at Joby figured this out and redesigned the articulation at the top so it now bends 90° at the top common joint. Out of the box this new one is tight, and folds perfectly! I hope this change makes this one the last one I need to purchase. Great redesign! The photos show the new one opened, folded and another showing the old one (minus the top common articulating bead because I couldn’t find it in the trash) next to the new one to show the comparable size. The new one is actually slightly smaller than the old design…bravo!

Micro Transformer or One-Trick Pony? 🤔
This micro tripod has been around for a decade or more now! It makes you wonder why. After all, it is a one-trick pony, right? It is but this pony does this one trick better than most! And that’s why it still sells virtually unchanged and arguably unchallenged!Pros 👍👍👍- Micro: It fits in your jeans’ lighter pocket with room to spare!- Well made. Unless you lose it, or deliberately abuse it, it will likely last you for years!- This thing will grip your phone and hold it steady, no problem.- It will accommodate most phone sizes.- Tilt adjustment, while limited, is actually a thoughtful touch.- 1/4” 20-thread screw means you can pair it your own accessory with the tripod portion.Cons 👎👎👎- It shoots only in horizontal orientation, and that’s its biggest limitation.- Pricy: The $35 MSRP seems steep for what you’re getting but that’s relative. My Verdict 🧐If you’re looking for a Micro Tripod, this GripTight ONE Micro Stand by Joby is your best and arguably only option! It’s a niche product, but it does the job well enough to make it a top pick in its class. If you’re embracing the MagSafe lifestyle, the MOFT Phone Tripod Stand is an excellent choice. I’ve reviewed it recently, so you can check it out.I hope my short review has helped you make a more informed buying decision 👍😊✌️

What actually comes in the box.
When reading the reviews, I was not sure if this came with just the mini tripod or also the phone stand as the phone stand alone cost $12.99. Both of the them come in the kit and are very nicely packaged. In general, the stand is a nice aluminum and is very durable, while the plastic phone holder is made of a solid polymer with metal rods and springs. It grasp the phone very well, but it is not the most stable on un-even ground. This is holding an iPhone Xs, and you can see that there is room for a larger case as well. The arms on the back capable of expanding much more so I am positive that an iPhone Xs Max would fit. It works incredibly well for tables and desk, just know that it can not hold the phone in portrait orientation for FaceTime or anything. The thread on the mini tripod is standard size which will allow it to hold many other devices such as speakers, small cameras, and even larger ones. There is not enough friction in the ball joint to hold larger cameras though so it will try to lean if the lens is too heavy. All in all, I would definitely recommend purchasing this before they are sold out and lost with time. Nobody else makes anything this small and handy. It should also last a very long time with regular use. I would have purchased the tripod even if the phone holder did not come with it. I have been pleasantly surprised by the usefulness of this stand.

Really nice
This thing is actually pretty awesome. It folds up so small that’s it’s never in the way. I thru hiked the CDT with this and kept it in the inner pocket of my fanny pack the whole trail. On other thru hikes I’ll start with a tripod but quickly send it home because it’s too bulky and annoying to keep handy. Yeah it’s not very tall but I would just place it on something.

Great Tripod for its Size
These pack down very small and are very easy to take around. I own a few of them and keep one in my laptop bag and one in my camera bag. They work great as small tripods. An additional feature that is really nice is that the top half (that holds the phone) can be unscrewed and can then screw onto a traditional tripod. The compactness and the ability to attach to a full tripod are why I keep coming back to this one. Currently using with an iPhone 12 Pro.

This only came with the black gorilla pod and did not come with the small camera stand. It was confusing, I thought this would include both the gorilla and the smaller stand. However, the gorilla seems fine. I was just expecting both.

A bit too large for my needs
I want something ultra-portable, and have happily traveled the world with the mini for the past year. After it got stolen, I got this as a replacement, but it’s just too big to make carrying it around everyone as practical. I’m gonna trade this for the mini.

Suitable For My Needs
Have not had much chance to use it since buying it but it does do the job. Problem with items like this is you forget you have them until its too late. Lightweight, easy to use, and is well designed – just always forget I have it with me. And when I do use it, can be a little bit of challenge to get it in the right place/angle. Hey, still better than looking for a rock, branch, etc. to hold the camera in place.

Works, but…
…you have to position a Galaxy S22 pretty far off-center in the grips because otherwise the stand grips are located right on top of the power button. It looks way off balance and like it’s going to tip over, but it stays up fairly well.

Perfect for what I need
This thing is perfect. It does exactly what it says. Its very sturdy and with my lightweight phone, it has no trouble. Its doesn’t fall over or tip in the middle of recording as I had with some other, more expensive, brands. The only reason I am subtracting one star is because when I was putting the stick up the fit my phone, I slipped and it pinched me so hard that now (TW) there is a glob of blood waiting to burst at the top of my finger but that really comes from my misuse and isn’t something you should be worried about. I also wish the prongs for the phone holder were longer to accommodate pop-sockets but no bigge as I can just scooch my phone to the side and even with this imbalance of weight, it still did not tip, nor was close to tipping. I also tried shaking it as hard as I can and I had to go full animal mode before it slipped out.

This thing is SMALL. I mean, SUPER small. Just know this before you buy, if that matters.
I’m expecting this tripod to be fine for my personal, extremely limited needs.BUT…Just know this thing is SUPER SMALL. …and I mean REALLY small. It’s tiny. I have small hands and it makes my hands look massive when holding it.If you’re looking for one of those “bendy” tripods you see all the influencers using, then this is NOT that one.

It’s almost a joke product
This is like a 99 cent store version of a usable product. Jokes aside, it’s probably worth 5-10 dollars. The materials are cheap and flimsy. The size is so small and the weight is so light that there is no way it can support a modern smartphone without the legs spreading super wide. The legs are the length of a regular iPhone. The ball head doesn’t have a loosen/tighten mechanism, so you have to use a lot of pressure to position the angle of the ball head. If you use it in landscape mode, it works a little better because the weight is centered at the top, but if you tilt it into portrait mode, the weight shifts to the side and it’s nearly impossible to keep this thing standing up. It might work wrapping the legs around a small tree branch or hand rail. Also the mount portion (comes with the tripod legs) is so flimsy that the phone almost pops out every time you try to put it into position.Conceptually, it’s a flexible tripod that has grippy rubber legs. But in reality this thing is such a toy that I can’t see it supporting anything but a flip phone from the 2000s. I got it super cheap from Amazon Warehouse, so I’m not gonna return it, but I do not recommend anyone buy this.

Works but not the strongest
I settled in this tripod mostly because the legs can wrap around things. It was far from the best mini tripod. It is light though. I like to hang it on my hammock ridge line and watch movies so for that it works well. My complaint is the legs move a little to easy so usually the tripod ends up in a wide spread stance when using it as a normal pod. The phone holder is just ok as well. It works but sometimes it can be fiddly. This really isn’t an issue with this brand as much is it is this design .

Tripod screw mount came apart from the legs and will not go back together now. Continues to come apart. Quality Little Folding Tripod
This is an excellent little tripod, very solidly built. I use it with my iPhone 12 and 14. I keep it with a remote trigger in my coat pocket; it folds up nice and compact and with the remote for the iPhone you can take pictures away from the iPhone and videos without disturbing the phone position. It works really well for group shots … family pics, selfies and video calls … If you get a CamKix Remote Shutter Control or a Xenvo Remote Shutter Control you have everything you need to take good stabile and well framed shots and video.

Smaller Than You Think!
I received this product and never bothered to open it. I saw how small it was in the packaging. I’m sure it performs well, but I expected more for the amount you pay for a JOBY GorillaPod. I actually ended up getting a Ubeesize one that has all of the same features and is much larger for way cheaper. However, this JOBY GripTight One GorillaPod would be perfect if you’re looking for something smaller and more portable. It just wasn’t what I was looking for.

NOT EXACTLY AS EXPECTED
I guess I should have read the reviews prior to purchasing this GorillaPod Stand. The phone clamp is extremely flimsy. What’s worse is that you won’t be able to use your phone in portrait mode; only landscape and that sucks! I wanted something that was versatile. Who wants a stand that won’t support the phone in both modes. The phone clamp does not secure your phone tightly and I definitely will not be using it unless I can be assured that my phone won’t fall from it. It is my hope that I can purchase another clamp that will secure my phone and allow me to use my phone in both modes. If not, I will be giving it to my grand daughter for use around the house. Try again – GorillaPod – I am not happy.

Review of MICRO STAND version – Good for more than phones
I was shopping for a low priced phone clamp and a micro tripod for my camera. I ended up with a single package that does both. I am tickled by how small this tripod is and when paired with the GripTight clamp it is just amazing. The package is an incredibly well thought out design.Tripod- It folds up smaller than my car key or my pocket knife. I have attached it to my point and shoot camera and just left it on. When folded it almost disappears into the camera body. I bought it for my GoPro, but it is sturdy enough to hold a much bigger camera. The 36 degrees of tilt, allows you to find a surface close to the angle of the shot you want and then use the tilt to align the frame. The rubber coating keeps the feet from sliding.GripTight Phone holder- Folds up tiny. Holds my iPhone 8+ with its case easily. When paired with the tripod it is pretty awesome, but it also fits my Gorilla pod.If you are trying to minimize the size of the photo/video gear you are carrying. This $20 package goes a long way.

It’s okay
It will hold my phone (iPhone 11pro max) but, I can only get it to hold it sideways. I have a hard time getting the legs adjusted so it won’t fall over, but once I get there, it will stay. It could be that my phone is two big or the weight of my phone, I’m not sure, but I haven’t had much luck with it.

It’s Wide Enough To Grip An iPhone 13 Pro Max w/an Otterbox Defender, So It’s Wide
Bought this to use as a make shift tripod slash phone stand for my iPhone Pro Max 13 and it works like a charm. I mostly use it as a tripod to film videos. I wouldn’t recommend being mobile with it because while the ball joint stays put it will slide down with the weight of the phone if it is wiggled a bit. Lighter phones would probably be totally fine.

Good, but could be better.
I love small Gorillapods. I’ve used them for years on my normal cameras, so I decided to try this phone-adapted version. This tripod is no different from a normal small Gorillapod. It still has the screw to attach to most cameras. The only difference here is that it includes a smartphone adapter. I don’t feel that the phone clamp securely holds the phone. I’ve never had my phone fall out but I’ve been too afraid to use it in a circumstance where it could fall out. The problem is that the clamp is covered in soft slippery silicone. There are small notches at the edge of the clamp to prevent the phone from slinging out but these notches are made of the same soft rubber, so the phone could still easily slide past them and fall out of the clamp. The tripod part is still the same high quality that you would expect from Joby, but the phone clamp just didn’t meet my expectations at this price point.

What size can it hold? 80 mm.
To help discussions which phone will fit: Fully expanded stand will fit a phone 80 mm wide. The thickness of the phone to fit inside the notches is 13 mm. Thicker will fit, but then the width should be no more than 77 mm.I agree with another other review that the tilt is pretty limited. It is not quite enough to have a phone in it on a desk for videoconferencing, though a thin phone can be tilted itself in the holder, which helps. For a bar table with not too high a stool it would work. OK for a phone photography tripod in a pinch.

I can’t really get the legs to grip anything.
First impressions were that this is a great travel mini tripod, however I can’t seem to actually get the legs to grip anything and wrap around even the most ordinary daily object. Pipes, railings, sign posts, etc… things you would need to attach this on in real life environments it just falls short.

Great little pocket tripod!
I have been surprisingly pleased with this little guy. It came on a full day hiking trip with us and proved it’s usefulness several times. The spring clamp is nice and tight and the pivot is snug as well. I wish there was a way to rotate it into portrait mode, but it works very well in landscape. I also wish it had a tad more ground clearance for uneven surfaces like rocks and boulders. Overall very pleased and recommended

My skepticism was warranted
Priced at around $20, this tripod seemed to have too many things going for it. But sometimes things made in China surprise you in a good way, so I decided to give it a try. I’m a photography enthusiast. I have many cameras and a couple of tripods, so I’ve fiddled with the camera tripod interface many times. This Joby’s fatal flaw is that the ball in the socket is absurdly stiff. You may be able to coax it into the general position you want, but you will not be able to do it precisely, and you’ll probably end up adjusting the legs to do what the ball that supports your phone should be doing. I tried a silicone spray lubricant and moved the ball around in its socket many times in every direction. It definitely loosened up, but moving the ball was still jerky, not a smooth movement that would allow for millimetric adjustments. A millimeter movement of the camera represents a much larger change in the field of vision, depending upon how close the object is you want to photograph. So, if you don’t need precision, this tripod, for 20 bucks, is good enough.

This is my third time purchasing
Why is it my third time? Because I keep giving them away! See, I’ll tell people how awesome it is, that it is so portable, fitting in my bag, folding so small, yet opens to hold my 13 pro plus with ease. And because they are ball joints, there’s no breaking from bending too much (like another brand did to me).I show them how it works and all of a sudden, I’m handing it over to them (sucker? Maybe, but it makes their day).Thank you, JOBY for the reasonable price. I appreciate it.Note: this one does have the less fancy phone grip. But it works like a champ.
